King Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 6) by India Kells – Review by Michelle Austin

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a thrilling 5 star read. Once I started I didn’t want to put it down. Lazarus (Oz) quickly became my favorite in this series.

Sasha comes to Chicago to work, she ends up getting a call from an old friend asking her to help with something. Little did she know who her friend’s son was, Oz. When they came face-to-face old feelings came flooding back. You can feel the attraction between them but Oz tries to keep her at arms length to try and protect her. His crazy father is still on the loose and until he finds him none of his loved ones will be safe.

Will Oz be able to keep her safe? Will he finally give in to his feelings for her?

Overall I really enjoyed this book, it was the last one in the series. It can be read as a stand alone but it’s much better if you read them all. All of the characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I look forward to reading more from her. If you’re looking for a great series to read 1-click and get started today on this one.

King Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 6) by India Kells – Review by Betsy Melano

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the last book in this series and what an ending it was. Although I did not read all of the books (I think I missed the first two) I still fell right into the books, the characters, and continued from there. This book concentrated on Lazarus and Sasha. These two have been attracted to each other for a while but have pushed each other away because of personal priorities and misgivings. Finally they are doing something for themselves.
As with the other books, these characters pull you in and make you feel like you are a part of the story. And the connections these brothers have, although hard to grasp all the hurt and issues they have is amazing. The author did a wonderful job with this conclusion to the series.

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a final book in The Dark Sparrow Series.
It was good, I definitely need to read the other books because the characters are developed and rich but I didn’t completely understand the back story and previous plots are mentioned.
Lazarus and Sasha are a complete package and this seems to be happily ever after.
The side characters make this book all the more entertaining.
This is an action packed plot with crime and romance that had me so excited to keep reading.
This has great cover art and I am disappointed that I was a bit lost.
What would you sacrifice for family?
A story true to its name the conclusion seems perfect for this book so I can only imagine the rest of the reads.
I truly enjoyed this author and I will be looking out for the rest of the series.

Whatever Tomorrow Brings (Embrace Tomorrow #2)Whatever Tomorrow Brings by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Well, this is my second book from this author, and I’m in love.
The story between Will and Tori is wonderful and heartfelt. If you have not read the first book you need to go back and get the details!
Will is fighting cancer and fighting hard. Tori walks in and brings light to the darkest hospital room! But after finding out Will revoked his DNR, there was a fighting chance for him! Also, a long road of recovery. But with Tori by his side and his caring friends and family, there is nothing they can’t do!
I felt like I was right there in the hospital room with them. The author is on point and this two book series will not be the last for me.

Neve, a psychotherapist working in a hospital, took some time off after being stabbed by a patient. She knew it would be difficult to walk back in, and it is made more difficult by the occurrence of a crowd of patients surrounding her, claiming they need Neve to stop the apocolypse.

The leader of the group counting on Neve and her apocolypse stopping turns out to be one of her patients, whom also is a patient of her friend and fellow doctor, Cornelius. Once the patient falls into a coma, Con and Neve are racing the clock to discover the clues he left behind for them – and discover quite a conspiracy! Neither of them ever expected their patient to be telling the truth! Fast paced and interesting from start to finish, I highly recommend this book.

5 +++++ Stars

ACK!! I loved this book so so much! I was so hoping Amber would get her own book after reading book 4 and I am beyond thrilled with her story!

Cold Creek is one of my favorite book towns ever! I seriously have wanted to live there and after this one even more so! Amber was such a scrooge but her story just broke my heart and understanding her was easy after that. I loved her already but I connected with her on a different level in this book. I missed Nicky and would have loved to have her there to experience the transformation of her best friend with her best friend.

Mama Sentieri, Gio, and Talia were so awesome, and the bond that formed felt so natural, even though this was a quick read it had every single thing you need to fall in love, transport yourself into the story, and become completely invested in this town, the characters, and the phenomenal writing of this author!

*SIGH* I love this series, this author is one of my top favorites of all time. I want this set on my shelf, really hoping she boxes it and I can purchase it in one simple click!

I recommend you read anything and everything by this author, but this series is a great place to start!

Can’t wait to read them all again back to back!

The Heart of a Hussar (The Winged Warrior Series Book 1) by Griffin Brady – Review by Kerry Baker

The Heart of a Hussar (The Winged Warrior, #1)The Heart of a Hussar by Griffin Brady
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is such an intricate and detailed story you can feel on each page how much thought and effort the author has put into it. For anyone who is a fan of this genre you really will blow away by this book. The story is well thought out and engaging. It feels like you go with these characters on their journey,  as if you are there with them.
I was pulled into the story much  more than i expected. The blurb hadn’t really blown me away but the writing did. This is a new author to me and what an introduction it was. K would highly recommend this book and cannot wait for the next one.

What a brilliant holiday romance Book this is, and such a fantastic addition  to the series. Although this is a short story there is so much going on. You really become invested in the characters and their story. This is the sort of book you just have to read in one sitting.
This author has easily become one of my favourites. I never hesitate to pick up one of her books as they are always so enjoyable. This book is the perfect example of that. A great holiday romance this really is worth your time.

King Bastard (A Dark Sparrow Novel Book 6) by India Kells – Review by stephanie nicole

King Bastard (Dark Sparrow, #6)King Bastard by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was both very sad for me and a relief at the same time. While I didn’t want this wonderful series to end, I couldn’t wait to see how things played out for these wonderful characters. Just like the previous books in this series this book is addictive and full of suspense, romance, tension, danger and oh so much more. While this book can be read as a standalone u highly recommend reading the whole series, as it helps build the bigger picture. Lazarus is the oldest brother and he has vowed to protect his brothers, and keep a last battle from them. Then Sasha comes into play and Lazarus must not only keep his brothers safe but also the woman he loves. Will Lazarus be able to keep everyone safe and live his life with the woman he loves? Or will their father win this final battle? You’ll have to read this book to find out.

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite Book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Rebecca Hill

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite, #3)Born in Darkness by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have enjoyed this series so much. This book is about another Mafia boss, Stefano. His own father is sadistic and abusive. Some of the incidents of abuse are hideous and hard to read. Even growing up so mistreated, Stefano is still capable of love and treating people well. Emiliana has always loved him, but Stefano has refused to acknowledge his feelings for her in order to protect her from his father. Emiliana is amazing all on her own. She has refused to let anxiety and ptsd over being kidnapped keep her from living her life and loving Stefano. I loved both of their stories and really enjoyed this book!

This is the 3rd book in the mafia elite series and once again we get a strong sexy dominant male named Stefano Rossi. He is madly in love with Emiliana but they have to keep their love secret as as his dad is an evil sick bastard who would do anything to keep his son in check and that includes hurting those close to him. Emiliana has already been hurt and Stefano is on the hunt for the snake who put her in danger in the first place. I absolutely loved this book.

THE BOX (HER THREE IMMORTALS BOOK 4) by HAZEL STORM – Review by Amy Brennan

The Box: A Greek Myth Paranormal Romance (Her Three Immortals Book 4)The Box: A Greek Myth Paranormal Romance by Hazel Storm
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am sure I am not the only one that isn’t ready to say goodbye to Raef, Aroz, Grey, and Vanessa, and certainly not Pretty Kitty, and Gorgonita. These novels not only have transported me to another realm, or two, or three, but they’ve also allowed me to live a very sexually healthy life vicariously through these Immortals. From page one, the author really allows for the reader to become engulfed in the story as it unfolds, holding their breath, and hoping for certain outcomes. Vanessa is the ultimate heroine, and she deserves all that she is bestowed, we all need a little Vanessa to get us through the tough times, I think!

I really couldn’t tell you which of these are my favorite, as they are all very high on my ‘to be read again’ list. I did thoroughly enjoy getting to visit Tartarus, and finally meeting Typhon, certainly gave the novel a different spin on how the characters fare in dire situations. For a finale in a series, I do have to say this wrapped up all potential loose ends very, very well, and didn’t leave much to be desired. I have my fingers, toes, and everything else crossed that eventually, a spin off from this series comes to pass. The fights, the love, passion, and all other emotions brought out by this series are going to be missed. If you haven’t read the first three, get to it, and I guarantee, you won’t be disappointed. Highly recommend!

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, Book 5) by KG Fletcher – Review by Bethany Leigh Rucker

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

During this story, Amber Tatum transforms from someone who despises Christmas because of her rocky past to someone who ends up coming around and finding her Christmas spirit. Gio, an out-of-town baker, moves to Cold Creek with his 6-year-old daughter to take over his Nonna’s/Grandmother’s cafe. When Gio and Amber meet, conversation comes easy, and it’s like they have known each other for years. Gio knows some things about Amber thanks to his grandmother, but when he meets her, he really wants to get to know her better. This story follows their lives through the holidays, and all the good and bad. I have not read any of the other books in this series, but I can’t wait to go back and read the rest of them! If your looking forward to a good clean read, then this story is for you.

The Heart of a Hussar (The Winged Warrior Series Book 1) by Griffin Brady – Review by Kerry Carr

The Heart of a Hussar (The Winged Warrior, #1)The Heart of a Hussar by Griffin Brady
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a brilliantly written historical story. The author does an amazing job of transporting the reader back to that time in history. The author’s descriptions and story building makes the action really realistic. You actually feel like you are on the battlefield. The characters are well developed also. Jacek  is such a strong character, determined on his path and very mature that you often forget he is only 22. Likewise  Oliwia is a very strong and determined character but in a different way that Jacek  while he is determined to risk in the ranks of his career, her determination lies in the protection of her younger brother.

Jacek is a soilder and one the best. His sights are set on progressing his military career and getting some land for himself. He doesn’t have time or the distraction of romance, or so he thought.
When Jacek and his soldiers rescue a young woman called Oliwia and her brother, Jacek  didn’t realise the impact this woman would have.
However Oliwia has secrets of her own and things seem to be piling up against the couple that makes their love unable to happen.
With lies, betrayal, the heart of a soldier and the love of a woman this story will have you gripped.

Born in Darkness (Mafia Elite, #3)Born in Darkness by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Born in Darkness is the 3rd book in the Mafia Elite series. I love this series and cant wait for the next book. Each book focuses on one couple within the 5 families in the Chicago Mafia. This book is the story of Emiliana and Stefano. They have known each other the whole lives, and liked each other since their teen years, but haven’t been able to pursue a relationship. Life of a Mafia underboss and Mafia princess are complicated, and you often can’t make your own choices. But when a rat is suspected within the family, they must put their feelings aside and focus on uncovering the traitor. Everyone has their suspicions, and the true rat was a shock to us all, me included. Things got a little graphic and dark during the interrogation, but I loved seeing that side of all the characters. It reminds us that they are raised to be tough and violent when needs call for it. I was happy with the ending, and cant wait to read Marco and Elena’s book next!

A Cold Creek Christmas (Reigning Hearts, #5)A Cold Creek Christmas by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Amber has always stayed away from any celebrations, as the self-processed grinch she hates anything to do with Christmas not intentionally, but it stems from her Christmas pasts were not the greatest to celebrate.

Although she has not got a heart of ice, when a Italian chef enters the scene with his daughter things start to change and can the magic of Christmas melt her cold heart and can love shine through.

This story was heart-warming and brilliant, but to be fair anything by this author does not disappoint, the flow of the story was brilliant, and the characters interacted lovely together. I loved the fact that they are both flawed characters and that nothing will stop them from coming together. With Gio determined to make Amber enjoy Christmas but will she be able to let go and have the family and the life she craves for.

This is a great novella with full of love and Christmas spirit and a great quick read.

I am destined to be the King, but the only woman I ever wanted to be my queen is out of bounds. Can I survive my father’s rath and protect the woman I love, or will the family destroy anything I seek, plus with a traitor in our mist will I be able to live the life I want?

I fell in love a long time ago, but he is forbidden but I can not just stop loving him. We keep our relationship a secret for his sake and mine, but will I ever be able to come into the light and take what is mine.

As they try and navigate the life in the mafia, things are dangerous and with a traitor in the mix these two lovers are destined for heartbreak and tragedy. When Emiliana is attacked something shifts in her and she becomes a woman who is not to be messed with. Can they find out who is the mole within the five families and save themselves in the process you will have to read to find out?

This is a great addition to this series, and I think this was my favourite so far, Stefano and Emiliana have an enchanted love as you start the book with hidden secret encounters and stoles kisses it added an edge of excitement to the relationship.

The story was well developed and gripping all the way through, I loved the way the characters interacted with each other and you’re just willing them along. The hardship that is written with each words have your heart-breaking with each paragraph. I can’t wait to read the next instalment in this series and see what happens in the world of Five families.

Book Review: Born In Darkness
Author: Amy McKinley
FOUR STARS
Stefano and Emiliana get their story told in this Mafia romantic suspense. This is the 3rd book in the Mafia Elite Series.
Just like the first two, we meet another of the Mafia Princesses and the soon to be man of her life. Stefano just has to get rid of his father and he will be able to take over his familly.
Emiliana and Stefano have been hiding their feelings about each other from everyone due to all of the things happening in the families. It was too risky to come out about them. Now though, is it the only thing that can keep Emiliana safe?
I didn’t think this book has as much suspense and conflict as the first two books. But is was still a good quick read and All of the main characters from the first two books are still here in this one helping to find the answers to all of the Mafia issues.

Very interesting! Neve, who just returned to work after a traumatic near-death experience, finds herself at the center of a chaotic and apocalyptic threat…but could it really be? This book was unlike anything I’ve ever read before and was quite intriguing. This was a romantic suspense meets psychological thriller type read full of twist and turns. It kept me interested throughout and the characters were well-developed and likable. Though it was largely suspenseful, I loved the bits of humor thrown into the story. This book really has it all and is an original work that is worth the read. My mind is still twisted with this story and intricacies crafted by this author.

Born in Darkness is the third book in the Mafia Elite series and oh my goodness, so much happens and so many questions I had were answered.   I absolutely loved this book and cannot wait for the next book comes out.

This author is quickly becoming one of my favorites and I will actively look for her books so I don’t miss one of her amazing suspenseful books.

Emiliana and Stefano were burning it up with the tension between them and man was it worth the wait, well at least for me.  There is just so much that happens that I can’t get into too much for fear it will give something away accidentally and I will not ruin this great book for someone

Em, Lil and Sofia are women you would not to make mad and I love.  I love all of these amazingly strong women who are not afraid to get their hand dirty but will also let their men take control when necessary.

I cannot recommend this book enough.  Please just trust me

I have read a few books from this author but she continues to blow my mind. This is the third book in the very addictive Mafia Elite series. You can read this book as a stand alone but there are previous characters in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put this book down until the end. I’m so excited to see what she will write next.

This is the third book in this series and I loved it! Each book just keeps getting better. This is Emiliana and Stefano’s story and it is full of action. There are many obstacles in their life that have kept these two apart. This is a must read to find out if they can find a way to be together. This book can be read as a standalone but it is my suggestion that you read the other two in this series not only because they are awesome but also because you will have a better understanding of some of the other characters. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat at times wondering what’s going to happen. This story is also full of lies, deceit, romance and great characters. The author does an amazing job pulling you into the story and you can’t help but become completely invested in the outcome. I highly recommend this book.

Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC #2) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Robin Rankin

This is the second book in the Satan’s Devils MC series and I’m completely obsessed with this series.  I started reading further into the series and had not had the opportunity to go back and get caught up with the older books.  When I saw she was releasing the series on Audiobook I was so excited that I was going to get caught up.

Drummer is the President of the Mother chapter of the club and is quite content with his life until he meets a damsel in distress.  She flips his world upside down pretty quick.

The narrators did an amazing job bringing Drummer, Sam and the rest of the club to life for me and I found myself going on a drive just to get a little more listening time that day.

These books are standalone, but it is so helpful to listen/ read in order so you know the back stories.

Looking forward to the next book to be released, hoping the narrators are good as Sierra Kline and Logan McAllister if they are the ones.

Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC #2) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett – Review by Ashleyann Sanabria

Rating: 5 of 5 stars

This author is fast becoming one of my favorites. Each book in the Satan’s Devils MC series is unexpected, immersive, and heart wrenching. This book is no different. Drummer is the president of the Satan’s Devils MC. He passing by a stranded Sam. Little does he know, this chance meeting will change his future, and the lives of many other club members forever. Drummer is your bad boy with a kind soul, and I feel in love with him right away. Sam is a woman who is constantly underestimated, and I related to her immediately. Their story was wonderful to experience, and the danger that follows makes this book one you just can’t put down. Though this author does a wonderful job of making each of her books unique, you can always expect an epic love story filled with danger, action, and “to hurt them you have to get through me” tenacity! I look forward to her other books. If you have been thinking about give the Satan’s Devils MC books a try, do it!
