This is the second book in the series and it was even better than the first! The way this author writes their story has me captive from the beginning to the very end. I could not put this book down as I had to know what was going to happen. The way the writing is done was if I was in the story with them and not just reading the words on a page. I cannot wait to read more books by this author!!

I love this authors books and when I saw these I knew I just had to read them! Dark romances hold a special place in my heart, I absolutely LOVE them. When I picked up this book I could not put it down. The story had me on the edge of my seat and I was HOOKED! I cannot wait to read more books by this author!

These books have to be read to understand what is happening. This is the second book in the series. We follow Kingston our morally grey anti-hero holding Ava captive. He falls for her and protects her; throughout her captivity, she falls for him. It is full of smut and action and hard to put down.

Whispered Surrender is the first book or ‘duet’ as the author calls them in the series ‘Sinful Duets’. This book has two stories within it Wayward and Undercover. I would personally recommend reading these in order. Through this series I have found a new love for billionaire mafia romance. Who doesn’t love sexy, rich and bad boys? I could not put this down and in my opinion I did not want to stop reading.

This book is part of a series but in my opinion, it can be read as a standalone. It is an emotional rollercoaster and it will keep you captivated until the very last page. The main theme is love of family even when there are broken pieces.

This hits some of my favourite troupes forbidden romance, grumpy man sunshine girl and age gap romance. Nasser is a very frustrating character but he is the comfort and support that Jade needs. I was so on edge reading this book and could not put it down no matter how frustrated I got.
Life has been a challenge lately. I’ve lost pretty much everything except my house. It’s time to take control. If that means letting strangers rent rooms from me, so be it. I’ll lose the house too if I don’t do something, and soon. I need to get my business and personal life back on track.
When the first two rental applicants show up, however, I’m not prepared for my instantaneous reaction to them. They could be just what I need in more ways than one.

I’m finally out of school and ready to make my own way. My new job is terrific and just what I want to launch my career as a chef. The last thing I need is a distraction from my goal, but good grief, these two new roommates are something special!
It’s going to be hard to stay focused on my culinary career when they’re both delicious!
Petra
I’m just out of a lousy relationship, so the last thing I need is to fall right into another one. I’m definitely not looking. My dog and I desperately need a place to live, however, and Weston’s ad sounds perfect for us.
Wouldn’t you just know that these two prospective roommates are the sexiest men I’ve ever seen? Callum- all tall and blond with that great athletic build, and Weston… oh my. Silky locks I want to run my fingers through and dimples! Does the man ever wear a shirt?
This is the first book I have read by Lena Abram and wasn’t sure what to expect. The early parts of the story were almost a bit confusing as I tried to learn the character names and roles in the world Abram crafted, but after awhile it all came together and I was IN. I couldn’t wait to see what happened next, when and if betrayal would come, from who and how… the intricacies of Abram’s Fae world were well thought out and with plenty of room to continue the story. Plenty of sexual tension as well. Fantastic storytelling, world building and character development. Can’t wait for book two.

Via Mari has done an amazing job building a world full of romance with the hints of darkness and seediness and just the slightest bit of suspense and mystery into them. You are on the edge of your seat reading her words. You find your heart pounding and that sheen of sweat forming just over your forehead as you’re hoping against hope that the next few sentences keep our leading ladies and our brute strength safe from whatever that darkness is, that looming just beyond the horizon. I read this book, as well as the 2nd one in a matter of 2 days, and I honesty hated that it took me that long, but, alas, life… Anyway. I ABSOLUTELY recommend this author and these duets if you love an amazing dark mafia romance. You will NOT be disappointed!!

What a fabulous journey I went on with this amazing book. This is the first book I have read by this author and I will certainly look for more.
The world the author created was complex and I absolutely loved that.
Lannahi is our MC and seen by her family as the weakest among them. They do not consider her a threat for taking over their land as her fae talent is the gift of song. Everyone in her family seems to want to protect her.
Lannahi finds herself under a curse from Nihhal who wants her as a slave at his feet. She can’t speak of his deceit to anyone due to the curse or she will die. The curse prevents her from doing so. This leaves Lannahi no choice but to challenge someone at the Blacktower for her own piece of land. When she wins and becomes Queen she finds herself in over her head.
She has been taught not to trust anyone. Ashared is the head of the guard but can he be trusted? Read this amazing book to find out more. You won’t be disappointed. In fact you will want more.

A Heart So Savage is book 2 in this Duet Series. If you haven’t read book 1, you will want to do that first as it completely sets the stage for book 2 and that is where you learn all about the characters and the storyline for the sequel. If you are a dark romance fan, then once again, April Moran does a great job with this story and will have readers wanting more. In A Heart So Savage, we continue with the dual POV and we learn more about Kingston and Ava and their growing connection despite the unique situation that brought them together. Even with the beast qualities of Kingston and the love-hate feelings towards the relationship between him and Ava, by the end, you are rooting for them. As with book 1, there are trigger warnings, so be sure to check those before reading.

A King So Savage is a very dark romance, but if you like that style of book, you will certainly enjoy this read. April does a great job of developing the main characters and you get dual POV – Kingston and Ava – which is a nice element that I enjoyed. Kingston is a dark, cruel man that you learn to both love and hate and Ava is a character that fights back and resists when and if at all possible, even when that means punishment from her captor. I would describe the storyline as a modern day Beauty and the Beast with a Fifty Shades twist. Again, this book is a dark romance and there are a lot of trigger warnings – so be sure to check those out first. But with all that said, it was well written and left me wanting to know what happens in book 2.

This book is as good as the first. I can’t wait to continue this series. Ava is falling for Kingston and it’s way more than Stockholm syndrome. Even though Ava is kidnapped her attraction to Kingston and the way he treats her is very confusing for her. I highly recommend this series and to start in order. Really wish I could put more than 5 stars cause I loved it so much.

Book two in this enjoyable series following the beer brewing Brooks family set in Asheville, North Carolina. Carter is getting used to being back at his family’s brewery, slinging beers and trying to embrace the simple life again having failed at his career in politics. Unfortunately some powerful people from his past are causing problems for his family. Carter needs the rather quirky local librarian Sunny, and her grandfather’s help in a risky plan to free him from his past. Sunny’s personality is as cheerful as her name, but she takes some convincing by Carter to go along with his plan. When Carter agrees to play the part of her fake boyfriend in order to make her true love jealous, Sunny agrees to help him. However, Carter soon develops real feelings for Sunny but is unsure of her true feelings about him. A fun, heartwarming romantic comedy story with likeable and relatable characters in Sunny and Carter. The descriptive narrative brought both the characters and the setting to life and made me feel immersed in the storyline. This was an entertaining and engaging read with a guaranteed HEA.

Whispered Surrender is Book One in the Sinful Duets Series. This is a collection of previous books by this author called Wayward and Undercover. It is a dark mafia romance with action, suspense, danger, drama, secrets, sizzling chemistry, and intense passion. The first story is about the characters Sasha and Jay. Sasha is a ballerina with low self esteem and trust issues due to being used and discarded by men. Jay is a bodyguard who is strong, smart, and has watched Sasha from afar. He will do anything to keep his beloved angel, as he calls her, safe from one of the numerous powerful enemies that are after them. Sasha struggles to believe that Jay could care for her but the attraction between them is undeniable. Can the two have a relationship through the danger and chaos? Both stories overlap and intertwine as Jay is looking for his friend Matt. The second story is about Matt and Merenah. Matt is undercover trying to gather intel on the mafia. When he is captured by the Russian mafia it is up to Jay to try to save him. While undercover he falls in love with Sasha’s sister, who is a mafia princess. He immediately is beguiled by her beauty and falls in love with her. Matt and Merenah both carry deep, dark secrets so this makes them wary of letting their guards down with one another. They are attracted to one another, but can they find love through the secrets and learn to trust one another? Great stories with strong, smart, powerful characters.

When the criminal with a long past sets his sites on her, Alexis doesn’t see the extent of the danger, until it’s far too late.

Cash and Hollis’ story is a great one! I actually read book #2 in this series first so it was great to go back and discover the whole story of how this, at first unlikely, couple found each other! The chemistry between the two is sizzling and although Cash pretends he is a tough, alpha male, he really carries the weight of the world on his shoulders. Will he let Hollis help share the load – read and find out!!

I didn’t expect to love this as much as I did! But it was so good. I love that the stories were interconnected as well! It’s a nice touch! I can’t wait to start the next one!

3.5/5 stars This was my first read by this author and I would read another one of her works. However this story didn’t do it for me. The synopsis is very good and I went into the book with high expectations. There were a lot of times where I didn’t know what was going on and had to reread. It’s very detailed but I think it’s over detailed in some parts which makes it hard to follow.

Smooth Hoperator is book two in the Love on Tap Series by Sylvie Stewart. Although book 2 in the series, it easily could be read as a standalone. I do suggest reading book one Ale’s fair in love and war not because you need to but because it’s fantastic. I truly enjoy Stewart’s writing. I love this series, I love the characters and love the story lines. If you haven’t started reading this yet, grab Ale’s fair in love and war first and then read this one. You won’t be disappointed and they are truly quick easy reads.

Reading a book of 300 pages in 2 days is a new record for a bookworm like me! I couldn’t put it down! Julia is a sweet woman in the 1500’s who falls in love with a simple servant boy name Adam. But her parents have other plans for her! She is forced to marry Gregory and he gives her sister Crystal horrible vibes!!! What will the tale lead to? How will Julianna’s future end? I seriously recommend the first book to this amazing series!!!!

Oh my ! I’m drowning in this cover art ! It’s just so beautiful ! Much like what is in between the pages 😉
Also warn friends and family you’ll be unavailable to do anything as you immerse yourself into your book bubble , take snacks and drinks ( you know to survive ) and you’ll face reality when you get there 🤣
What is more delightful than getting 2 books on 1 !? I know my greedy little heart was soooooo happy 🤣🥰📚these women are fearless and will do anything for their men , to love and protect them 🥰 rest assured they get their HEA and there will be times where it looks impossible but take heart ❤️
Wayward
Sasha is just beautiful and such a graceful dancer but she’s also Jay’s kryptonite… she’s broken and feels used up but Jay is something else and I felt sorry to a degree for Sasha because she thinks she’s not worthy of love and affection and Jay is so patient with her and is determined to prove her otherwise …
Jay has his hands full because he’s also trying to protect Sasha from an outside threat but I like how despite their struggles there’s time for spice and fun 🔥
Sasha and Jay sure kept me on my toes , enjoy them 🥰😉
Undercover
We’ve met Jay and Sasha now it’s time to make new friends , Matt and Marenah ….
Matt lives life on the risky side and when he goes undercover and joins the mafia to gain confidences and intel my blood runs cold and I can feel my heart beating on my throat , then the Russians get their hands on him and I actually feel sick because I know what is going to happen , we’ll my mind runs wild and gory 🙈
Marenah is the granddaughter to the Russian mafia and she wants answers but she’s being hunted by the Russians and those in Chicago and she walks into the lions den when she goes looking for answers about her grandpa , now she’s captive with Matt ….
Matt and Marenah are wanted people and they’re in for the fight of their lives and I was on the edge of my seat for most of this read but again I can breathe at the end and my blood pressure returns to normal with a HEA 😉
Thank you guys for a suspense filled trip ❣️📚

Trouble has always had a way of finding me, but even I never expected to be carjacked by a pretty girl in a wedding dress.
As the official family screw-up, not many people count on me for anything but a good time. But Maisy Romero and her little brother need a knight in shining armor, and they need him yesterday.
Clearly, I’m not that guy, especially since I’ve already got serious trouble chasing me down—the kind that just landed me in jail. The last thing this runaway bride needs is to tangle herself up with me and my mess.
But Maisy sees something greater in me that nobody else ever has—well, almost nobody—and she’s determined to get me to see it too.
I should push her away for her own good. After all, there’s a reason people don’t count on me. But somehow I still find myself asking: Could I possibly be that knight after all—even if my armor is tarnished and dented?
Deja Brew All Over Again is a small-town rom-com that’s part of a series but can also be enjoyed as a standalone steamy romance.
USA Today bestselling author Sylvie Stewart loves bad jokes, dirty rom-coms, country music, and baby skunks—preferably all at the same time. Most of her steamy contemporary and romantic comedy novels take place across her favorite state of North Carolina, and her characters never run out of snarky banter or snacks. When her laptop closes, Sylvie is a sucker for hugs from her twin boys and a good laugh with her hot-nerd hubby. If you love smart Southern gals, hot blue-collar guys, and snort-laughing with characters who feel like your best friends, Sylvie’s your gal. Stay up to date on all things Sylvie! https://sylviestewartauthor.com

This is the perfect taste of the Series to get me hooked and excited about the whole series. Honestly why more authors don’t do this is beyond me. It was a quick read that truly got me hooked and wanting more in the best way.
Despite being short and quick the character development in this prequel was fantastic.
If you are into Bully Romances this one is for you.

Jay is the head of security for a very rich man, and made it to that position by being extremely good at his job and highly focused on safety and protection. He’s a red blooded male, so of course he spends time with beautiful women, but he’s never met one that could draw his focus – until he met Sasha. Originally, Jay met the beautiful Russian ballerina when she was warming his bosses bed. He feels drawn to her in a way he can’t explain, and finds his attention continually drawn her way, especially once his boss moves on and Sasha is still clamoring for his attention.
Sasha is an illegitimate Russian beauty who just wants to feel loved. However, no matter how many men she gives all of herself to she continues to be left behind while they find the women they want futures with. First, her (terrible) father refuses to claim her, and she has a string of men who didn’t want to keep her, either. She feels her looks and body are only good for men to want her for a short time.
Upon making contact with one another, the chemistry and attraction are palpable. Despite what her instincts tell her, she knows Jay wants her – he even calls her his “Angel” and wants to make her his own. In the midst of discovering their relationship and where it could go, many things comes to the fore. Jay is trying to locate his friend and teammate Matt, who had to go undercover to catch the bad guys and has stopped responding. Sasha calls her father as a last ditch effort and it appears he has sent men after her to solve his little problem of having a child he doesn’t wanna claim.
Will Jay and Sasha be able to protect one another in the middle of all of the danger and chaos? Will they both allow each other to let go and have the most explosive relationship they’ve ever known? Will they save Matt? Or Sasha’s sister? So many plays being made…will they be able to make it through together?
Matt and Marenah – Mentioned in book 1, Matt is on an undercover assignment and meets Marenah, Sasha’s twin sister. Like Jay, he is absolutely overwhelmed with the woman’s beauty and sure that none of her secrets are anything he would find shocking. However, Marenah is a mafia princess and there are many things she keeps close to her heart to protect herself. This story is about Matt’s past and what he has experienced as well as Marenah and what her undercover infiltration is for! Matt and Marenah spend this story circling one another and feeling each other out. Will they be able to get out alive? Will they live to celebrate their unions with Jay and Sasha?
