An amazing continuation to a king so savage, we follow on as Ava continues to try and navigate the world with King, and Kingston continues to attempt to control all around him including his feelings from the past.
Their relationship teeters from control to full feelings and both parties are confused.
Still with an edge of danger, darkness and lies revolving around family and associates.
The Character and world building keeps you hooked till the end.
Another all encompassing read.
Although it took me a few chapters to jell with the way this author writes I can say I truly enjoyed the book and cannot wait to read art two.
Ava, after the loss of her parents and having a devious and nefarious brother finds herself held captive by Kingston, friend of her parents and someone her brother owes a large amount of money to.
We follow the relationship as it develops, Ava finds out some hard truths and Kingston may have a heart after all.
Touches on some triggers but if you like you r romance, dark and gritty I am sure you will enjoy the book too.
Song of Earth and ClawsSong of Earth and Claws by Lena Abram
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed reading this fantasy story. This is a newer author for me which I enjoyed their writing skills as well as their attention to details that made the story pop. This is a well written story where kingdoms are won and lives are lost. A story where loyalties are questioned and love is an added twist. I enjoyed how the characters pulled me into their world. They are connectable and keep the story engaging. They add so much to the story that it makes it easy to read. I enjoyed watching the growth of this story which had me turning pages fast. This is a fast paced story that I truly enjoyed reading. I highly recommend this story.

The first couple of pages of this book was very intriguing, however, after that it was a little slow to begin with. Within the first couple of chapters the plot got more interesting. The world building is very well done. When I read about the lands and the meeting places of the court, I can see it all in my mind exactly how it was written. The characters are very well developed. I love how the youngest child always needs to prove themselves and to break out of the mold the older siblings put them in. The main character always has to calculate and be a few steps ahead of her opposition while maintaining peace in the kingdom.

Valkyrie always weaves such an interesting and unexpected story that defies what manner would assume to be the normal path of a beloved trope and genre. This short story was engaging and quick paced. The characters were quirky and relatable. If you are looking for a new book, pick this one up. Valkyrie is very gifted at engaging her readers and putting them in the middle of a very unexpected tale they will enjoy.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

After reading Shadowed Obsession I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into this and I was not disappointed!

Regan and Pavlo have a strained relationship and Regan would rather die alone on a stranded island than share space with Pavlov but her publicist throws them together for a book tour and I’ll be honest there’s something dodgy about this publicist and I would get a new one but that’s just me , anyhoo , let me not loose focus here 🙈🤣😉

Regan is a romance writer while Pavlov is more serious and Regan also has a daughter with a serious heart condition and she’s doing everything in her power to get the Jehovah help she needs ….

Someone is threatening Regan , they want her to give a private signing and she’s not being bullied into it and I must give it to get she’s a brave girl 😉 she stands her ground …..

There’s alot going on and I was on the edge of my seat a lot of the time but rest assured there’s a HEA in the horizon 🥰😉

A fantastic introduction into this series by Isla Vaughan. This is the story of Riley and Cole and their background stories and I cannot wait to read the next book to find out more after their hot first kiss.

This is the first book that I have read by this author and this short novella gave me a taste for her writing style.

Well I’m packing my bags and I’m going to Aus !

Our girl Lizzie hadn’t had the best of luck of late , she’s made redundant and then her house mate says she’d moving in with her boyfriend do that means she’s got to look for new lodgings and then to top it all it’s Christmas and she’s not keen on being under the scrutiny of family so when her friend has a non refundable ticket to Aus she jumps at the opportunity for a bit of fun in the sun 😉

Jaz , divorced dad of 2 and legend surfer 🏄‍♀️runs a coffee shop where people come and go and more often than not friends become family and when his son just about knocks Lizzie out with a ball to the head it’s a start to something beautiful 😍

Jaz is just awesome and I am see the appeal but at the same time I see where Lizzie is coming from but lucky for her Jaz is persistent and it’s thanks to him at them end of the day that they get their HEA 😉😍

This was such a feel good read and it’s one I wish I could share with everyone and these people will make you believe in love and second chances ❣️

This book was a good one! This is the second book in the Savage Duet series and it picks up where book one left off, so this is definitely a series that should be read in order.
The main characters were awesome. I like the banter and the dynamic between the two was interesting! The chemistry between them was hot hot hot even if they started out in a rocky place.
This author has a nice writing style and i enjoyed the book alot so i would recommend to anyone that likes a good romance read!
Happy Reading!

I am not typically a fantasy reader but I figured that I would give this one a go! I surprised myself with how much I liked it. The character development of Lennahi as she steps into her new role was truly incredible. I often times thought that she was going to back down only for her to come off strong and hard. As someone who doesn’t typically read fantasy, the world building in the beginning was a little overwhelming, but as the story went on it made total sense. If you’re looking to dip your feet into the world of Fantasy, I think this is a great place to start. Once I got beyond the world building, I finished the book in two days..I needed to know what was going to happen!

Kingston is a morally grey man who doesn’t think he has a heart anymore, until he has Ava and he starts feeling things he doesn’t understand.
This second part of the duet is much spicier, has more background info so you understand the characters and appreciate the development!
Pay attention to trigger warnings before starting.
I really enjoyed this duet and highly recommend

Lets start this off by saying, if you’re starting this series without reading the 1st book, you’re missing SO MUCH. You should stop now and go back. You need the 1st book. It’s go SO MUCH story line. Book 2 we see how much Ava has fallen for King (and how much King is trying to be in denial about his love for Ava). Anyway. This book wraps everything up really well. I was super pleased with the way this story played out. I can’t wait to see what else April Moran has for me to read!!

This series is starting out to be everything I was hoping it would be, and so much more. It’s rough, it’s dark, is full of adoration, anger, controlling, loyalty and backstabbing family. All the things I love in a great story. I can’t wait to read the 2nd book. Kingston and Ava have so much story left to tell. I can’t wait to see how April Moran ties it all in. I’m excited.
If you love a dark romance with a some romance, I definitely recommend starting this series!!

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In this book we get to find out the answers to so many questions. Will Oliver truly betray his brother? Will Carson ever get what he really deserves? Will Ava and King figure out they are meant to be together? I am not going to tell you the answers to all those questions, but I will let you find out for yourself as you read.

Here is what I will tell you, Ava realizes that she needs Kingston more than she thought and she wants him. This causes all kinds of internal turmoil for Ava until she believes that he can’t live without her either. When she finally learns to trust Kingston, Ava discovers that other side of him that he doesn’t show anyone. Together, they can be happy.

Kingston keeps his promise to find out who killed Ava’s parents. When Kingston tells Ava the truth, she is devastated. Carson managed to take much more than she thought. When Carson’s current plan to sell Ava and have her declared or found dead so that he can take her part of the inheritance money, Ava plots her revenge.

When Ava escapes Kingston’s security to enact her revenge on Carson, things go a little sideways. Ava didn’t account for the fact that Carson wasn’t alone. Even though she got in a killer stab wound, Carson and his buddies were able to capture Ava. A giant, unexpected monkey-wrench is thrown into the works when Oliver shows up and takes control of the situation. How will Kingston react?

A thrilling conclusion to the duet.

Virgin? Check

New Identity? Double Check.

Grifter? Triple Check.

Look, it’s not like I have a choice about being born into a family of conmen, or women- technically. A girl’s got to survive, and by the looks of the new town I’m forced into, it’s time to step up my game.

It doesn’t take long to survey my prey, steal a souvenir, and get stopped by a panty-melting local who steals a kiss.

That kiss is poison. Not really, but the emotional kind that forces me to face the fact.

If I give up my precious v-card to a guy, he’s the kind who would take it. Dangerous. Sexy as hell and just as deadly. Distracting enough that I somehow managed to get caught… but will I escape?

Savage Start is an enemies-to-lovers, new adult bully romance with plenty of angst, and the prequel to Riley and Cole’s duet Savage Lies and Savage Truth.

This book contains mature content that some readers may find disturbing. It is not a standalone and does end in a cliffhanger that continues with Savage Lies.

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Beverly Finnie

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Heart So Savage is the duet that goes with A King So Savage, the question is where did we leave off? I actually liked this book better than the first one. Both are very dark but have breaks of light in them. This one definitely has a bit more light. The author pretty much picks up where the previous book left off.
Ava’s brother has decided not to pay, sealing her fate. She now belongs to Kingston completely, mind, body, and soul. Which doesn’t sit well with her. He’s a monster that flirts with pleasure and pain. Yet she is confused because she enjoys it.
Will she stay or find a way out?
Kingston makes it his mission to keep Ava safe. And even though he’s not safe, she’s safest with him. Now that he has his prize, he knows that his brother as well as Ava’s will stop at nothing to destroy him. They don’t care that Ava will be a casualty in their wake. One problem he needs to remain the vicious beast of his reputation, but Ava’s changing him.
Will his attraction and affection for her be his downfall?
As stated at the beginning this is book 2 of a duet. You need to read book 1 first, you will be sorely disappointed if you don’t.
I don’t usually like books that have these types of dark themes but these two were pretty good. The author made sure of that.

In this second installment in the series, we learn so much more about Kingston and his childhood. The contract is signed and Ava belongs to him now but will she be ruined? Or will she teach her modern day Beast to love? I enjoyed this story as much as the first. It is very sexual though so beware if you aren’t into stories like that.

This was the first book I have read from this author and I am very excited to get to read more of her works! This was a well written story that drew me in, right from the beginning. We jump almost right into the Games and as the story unfolds, the author does an amazing job of revealing more of the story and the characters. Lannahi was a wonderful heroine that you absolutely want to see succeed. As she gets older she sees how little she can trust those even closest to her and how hard she will need to work to find her place in this fantasy world. This fantasy story definitely kept me enthralled and I couldn’t stop reading until the end. The author takes you on all sorts of twists and turns, keeping you wondering how it will all end. I definitely recommend this to anyone who loves fantasy, adventure, mystery, secrets, lies, romance, and magic. I definitely plan to check out the other books the author has written and I look forward to more of her works.

A King So Savage (The Savage Duet #1)A King So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was great! I could not put it down. There are things in this book that some readers might be uncomfortable with. Ava’s parents died. Her brother, who wasn’t the greatest owes money to Kingston “The King.” King took Ava captive as payment for her brother’s debt. He didn’t know if he was going to keep her, sell her, or let her go. Ava at first can’t stand him and is giving him attitude left and right but after some time starts falling him, and craves his touch. The King on the other hand had no idea about his feelings even though he’s been obsessed with Ava for years. This book ends on a cliffhanger. I can’t wait to read book 2.

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet #2)A Heart So Savage by April Moran
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is book two of The Savage Duet. It picks up where book one left off so you definitely need to read book one first.

Kingston is a collector and Ava is no exception to that. The only difference is he begins to feel an attraction to her. Ava, after finding out her brother has abandoned her, struggles with her situation but eventually feels drawn to Kingston. She hates him and the situation he’s put her in but she can’t be without him either. Can these two have a normal relationship or will their circumstances be too difficult to overcome?

The chemistry between these characters is definitely off the charts. You want to hate Kingston like Ava does at first but as you read you understand him more. The characters and the story are very well written!

A Heart So Savage (The Savage Duet Book 2) by April Moran – Review by Kirsten Berkebile

This is the second book of the series. Sadly it’s also the last of the series. Kingston Winter is a savage beast who can not control his obsessiveness over a young Ava Blue. Ava is still trying to figure out why she feels the way she does with Kingston. In this book she is giving some freedom and some of it is taken away because she also struggles with letting someone have control over her. Can Kingston break her or Does Ava break Kingston? I will tell you that Kingston is down right creep throughout the entire series, there are parts that make him less creepy but it doesn’t change too much. I loved the book, I hate having a job that requires me to put my book down otherwise it would have been finished sooner. I can not wait read another series from April.

The Uncrowned King was SOO INCREDIBLE! I finished the Blood Prince and immediately dove into the Uncrowned King, and it only got better. I could not stop reading. The world building is just as great in the 2nd as the first, the characters are just as loveable or hateable. The hateable ones? Yeah. REALLY hate them. So much passion and emotion in this book, I was literally in tears at the end. I cannot wait for the next one! Great job by Ayla Marie! Will definitely be on the lookout for more from her!

I love the playlist at the beginning of the book. I also love that each chapter has a quote at theme beginning. Book 2 was even more entertaining than the first. There’s always the fear that King will go back on his word but seeing how much he really does care about her and does his best to protect her is endearing. He’s changing for the better. The cruelty of Kings brothers was intense and I felt Ava’s fear. So trigger warning to anyone who has trauma around violence.

This is a great fantasy story that really builds the momentum the more it goes on. It is quite a slow, and a little bit of a confusing, start as it launches straight into the games without much of an explanation. However, the more the story goes on the more you start to pick up the information you need.
I loved the main character in this book. The strength she possessed was obvious and it, for me, it really carried the whole story. I could have read so much more about her. The premise of the story was really good as well. I soon found myself immersed in what was going on and I wanted to see how things would play out. This really is a great story and one that I would recommend.

Is it forbidden? probably. Is it unrequited? Absolutely not
Jay is the best of the best when it comes to security. He’s worked for some of the most powerful and influential people in his lifetime. Always able to keep his distance and professionalism until one day he’s captivated by her eyes.
Jay signed a contract with a new client unloaded and prepared to take on his job he’s stopped in his tracks when he has the strongest pull to one of the girls his client is sleeping with.

Sasha, a beautiful woman. The illegitimate Russian mafia princess has had to make do on her own her entire life. But she sees him. and he sees her. Really sees her. A broken woman who only wants to be protected cherished and loved. But what is she supposed to do when he works for the guy she’s sleeping with now ?!

This is first to a duet. It’s spicy scenes are 🥵 Dom / sub roleplaying so please read your trigger warnings to prepare.

I’m absolutely enthralled with this strangers to lovers trope and can’t wait for the second to make its debut 👏🏽
