Still Taking Chances is an erotic story about two damaged people. Mary Beth has been burned in the past and decided to hang up her whip. Elgin is a soldier-turned-DEA Agent with a boatload of trauma to deal with. When they meet, sparks fly!
BDSM stories featuring a Domme are sadly few and far between, so I was excited to hear about this book. I liked the story, there is so much heat between the characters, and I loved seeing them both grow. The only thing I wasn’t a huge fan of is that there was not a lot of discussion between them about limits. Yes, I know scenarios were set up in a way that allowed him to speak up, but I feel like a conversation was warranted. Regardless, it is a good read, and I love that Mary Beth is not the stereotypical Domme in looks or demeanor (outside the scenes that is!)

This is a new author for me and I don’t usually go for the dark mafia type books but I actually enjoyed this one! This book is definitely recommended for readers 18+.
I’m not going to say much about what happens as to not give anything away but talk about intense! This book has everything you could need. There is so much suspense I was on edge just waiting for what would happen next. Keep in mind it’s pretty dark and usually that’s not my thing but it’s a good read.
I enjoyed this authors writing style and the book definitely keeps you guessing. I’m glad I picked this one up!
Drummer’s Beat (Satan’s Devils MC #2) AUDIO BOOK by Manda Mellett
5+++++++ Stars
This is my favorite book of the entire Satan’s Devils series, all chapters, all cities, this is the one. Drummer is and always will be my number 1! I read this book a ways back and it still stays with me today. Listening to this audio put it in a whole new perspective for me.. I’m not normally an audio person, I do a lot of text to speech, and listening to others with their voices hardly ever add up for me, but this book was spot on.
This one was full of everything I love about Manda’s books but had that little touch of something extra. I can feel how strong this MC is growing. The strength, the brotherhood, the loyalty, and the family. It’s all because of Drum’s leadership and it blows me away.
Drummer and Sam’s book again, will always be a favorite! Dear Lord, if you have not opened the world of the Satan’s Devils, you must do so, I literally can’t imagine not having these stories in my life.
LOVED IT!! And now I actually want to go read it again!

Wow .What an intense yet suspenseful ride and I absolutely loved reading this Dark Mafia Romance. This story will grab ahold of you from the beginning and doesn’t let you go till the end. This author has an amazing gift and her style of writing has me wanting more. This is very dark and there are some parts that may be a trigger but if you can just hang on tight I promise its well worth it. Have you ever played the “What if game?” Well sometimes un life we do what we have to do to get by or because we are fooled into thinking things are one way when they aren’t. This is a story about Lily I’m not going to give much away other than this. She is way stronger than she thinks but is she strong enough to break the chains? I highly recommend reading this book to find out what happens next. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

Liz is trying to simultaneously research for a book she is trying to write and find out what really happens behind the doors of MI5. She has become obsessed with all sorts of crime shows, specifically a show called Spooks. Do their day to day operations on the show happen in real life? When she is caught she seems to have gotten in over her head. Because of her attention to details she is recruited into MI5 and becomes a secret agent. During her first mission things get a bit hairy and she learns that the Mafia wants her taken out. What do they want with her? When she finds herself and her team surrounded she needs to make a tough decision. Will she surrender or fight for her freedom?
Overall this book was a quick read that keeps you on your toes. There is a trigger warning due to violence and some of the explicit scenes so read at your own risk. I’m not a squeamish person by any means, but even I got little uncomfortable reading these scenes. With that being said though this book was a good read and can be read in one sitting.

This is the conclusion of the Embrace Tomorrow Duet. I was just as an emotional wreck reading this book as I was during book one… actually, probably more so but in a totally good way! This author has done such a great job creating characters and situations that are real and believable. This story is extremely well written and the characters are well developed and have so much depth to them. I loved how everyone pulled together for Will and I admired the supportive strength of Tori. Their story was a sad, wonderful, journey and I highly recommend it! … Just be sure to have tissues nearby!

I was SO excited to be able to continue the story of Will and Tori! I was so emotionally invested in their story in the first book. This book was equally emotional, spinning me in every direction. I laughed, I cried, I could not stop reading. Will is battling cancer, and after wanting to give up, he has finally decided he wants to fight for his life. Tori is his girlfriend who wants nothing more than to take care of Will in hopes of spending their lives together. This book gives the raw emotional journey of battling cancer. You get insight from both points of view that send your emotions soaring. Have your tissues ready because you will need them right to the very end!
This book really highlights how one choice that seems minor at the time, can change your entire life in ways you never imagined. Liz is living a normal life that she considers to be boring and lacking in excitement. On a quest to stir up a little excitement and write a book, she stirs up far more than she bargained for. She learns some deep, dark, terrible family secrets that leave her the victim of kidnapping and horrific torture. Her path eventually leads her to Marco, who ends up being the one light in her life, that is everything she never realized she needed. This book has so much betrayal, danger, action, romance and deep soul mate love that it had me hooked from the very first page. There were so many twists that I didn’t see coming but the ending is absolutely fitting for a King and his Queen. There are some really dark scenes in this book that made my heart break for poor Liz and for Marco as well but it just made the ending all the sweeter.

This is the fourth book in Her Three Immortals series. I have read the other books, but feel that you could read as a stand-alone, but why would you want to? Vanessa is sent on her fourth task, while her men are trying to help her in any way they can, their moms are trying to make her task difficult as can be. This book kept me turning the pages with the adventure and danger. Can Vanessa fulfill the last task? Vanessa reminds me that anyone worth loving is worth fighting for, including yourself. The ending was bittersweet to me as I have loved my time with these characters but am so excited to know that I will be able to go back into this world with future books!

A beautiful romance between Will, a man fighting cancer, and Tori, who loves him more than anything. The book was a bit hard to read for me since both my parents passed due to cancer. However, the love Will and Tori shared in this book kept so much hope in my heart. The author did an amazing job with the story and how cancer can decimate a person’s body. The characters in the book are very relatable and genuine. I really enjoyed reading the book and finding hope along with the characters as I read. I did not read the first book but I was able to figure out the characters and the basic reasons why Will sent Tori away but that their love for each other made them hope.
This was such a good book, I didn’t want it to end and I couldn’t put it down. This was the last book in the series and I was eager to see how the author ended everything because I have liked this whole series. Every book keeps getting better and I wasn’t disappointed in this one. I loved all of the characters and I wasn’t ready to say goodbye to them. But according to the end of the book there will more installments in the world and I am so here for it!!!! I would recommend this awesome series to a friend! Happy reading!

This book is just as intense as the first. After reading the first half of this duet I knew that this second half would be just as an emotional roller coaster ride. Tori and Will have such a romantic relationship that my soul wept for them. The amount of emotion, courage, determination and so much more was overwhelming but beautiful. Once again this author gives us our beautiful characters, an emotional plot, and a love story that will have you needing a whole box of tissues. So if your looking for an emotional read this weekend I highly recommend this book.
Yes yes yes!!!!!!!! Now this is a five star read! If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, reading this is a must. There is humor, there is romance but you NEVER see it coming! If you don’t believe me let me tell you I read this in one sitting! This story starts with our main girl returning from a tragedy that happened at work! Has she recovered, can she move forward? Now this has a dystopian trope to it that does not disappoint. Anticipation is an understatement and let’s say we all need a bestie like Con. This author made me feel like I was part of this story in such a plot she introduces humor at just the right moments. The ending had me ready to reread automatically. I cannot stress this enough, you will be hooked by the first page.
“…..Please tell me you believe me, I’m begging you!”

Wow, this book is a bit different for me when reading Dom/Sub or BDSM. This is my first book that I have read in which the roles are reversed. DEA Agent Elgin Huddleston comes home after a failed mission in which he loses 2 of his fellow agents. Elgin has a lot of past demons he needs to address. The loss of his grandmother, his mother and his fellow agents. When Elgin meets his neighbor, Mary Beth..this is when the story takes a turn. Not only is she a dom, but her methods are more to help psychologically. She wants to help Elgin confront his demons and love himself before things turn more to the want of being together. This story is more then just lust, BDSM and erotic, this story really dives deep into healing and the psychological aspect of past demons.

What a fantastic sequel! The first book left me wondering what would happen with Tori and Will. This book takes right back up where the first book left off and more than answers all of the questions I had. It was heart wrenching to follow their story and to read whether or not Will would beat cancer. I grieved for both of them as they loved each other so deeply, not knowing whether tomorrow would be their last. I highly recommend this series!

This was a short book but it packed a punch. I was pleasantly surprised that the Dom in this story was a female. The connection between Elgin and Mary Beth can be felt as I read about these two. There is healing, romance, emotion, and obviously plenty of steamy moments. This is the first book I have read by this author and I am definitely going to be reading more. I enjoyed the writing style and how smooth the story flowed. I think you will enjoy this book. When I finished the story I wanted more which makes for a good read in my book. I recommend giving it a shot.

Caspian is one of New York’s most eligible bachelors. He is running his uncles company and works hard for the lavish lifestyle he leads. However, when his uncle gives him some grim news, he will do whatever it takes to make sure his uncle is around for a long time. One of the things he must do, though, is find a wife and stay married for at least one year. If he fails to do this, his uncle will leave the company to someone else or sell the company. Caspian has a few women that he is seeing…but none of them will do for what he needs.
Paisley can’t seem to catch a break. Her art isn’t selling the way she hoped it would, she is barely making ends meet financially, and now her mother needs to be moved to a better care facility while she is in a coma. After receiving the bad news from doctors, she is surprised to run into an old friend that she knew growing up. Caspian offers her a way out of the situation she is in…albeit unconventionally.
What starts out as a sham marriage turns into more…for Paisley. She finds herself caring for Caspian and wanting him to be happy. But, when she is finally at a place where life is looking up…tragedy strikes. Paisley seems to get hit over and over again with bad news to the point where she must make a decision…money or honesty?!?
I enjoyed both of these characters. They are both complex and Caspian comes off cold and mean at times…and caring and nurturing others. Getting his backstory shed some light on that. Paisley definitely comes out stronger in all of this even if it is a rough and heartbreaking ride. Overall, a good story that kept my attention until the last page!

Broken Chains was such an intense, nail biting ride to the finish. I would definitely include some trigger warnings as this is not a book for anyone who has issues with rape, abuse in a few different forms, and death, nor would it be a good book for anyone under the age of 18. In the beginning you are introduced to a girl named “Liz” or Elizabeth. She is enthralled by the CIA, M15, the FBI, and what it takes to become an agent. She really wants to know is it really like the tv shows say it is ? So she starts to stake out the M15 headquarters for research on a book she is hoping to write. So she stages some things to see how much attention they really pay to their surroundings. Things really start to become real when she is kidnapped by M15 and gets to experience interrogation first hand. After being let go and returning home she is visited by an agent who, of course they already know everything about her, prods her to join M15 as an agent. Given her solitary lifestyle and skill set he thinks she would be great. That’s when everything spirals out of control for Liz. I had a hard time with the first half of the book, almost up to the point she meets Marco, and then there is that “insta love” to contend with, but once I did the book really began to smooth out and I just could not stop reading! At first I felt confused and a little jerked back and forth then slapped in the face and pulled out of the story. The author seemed to want to portray Liz as this strong, independent woman but I didn’t get the “independent” vibe from her except at the beginning. She was absolutely a strong woman or she would not have been able to endure the things she went through. I was absolutely rooting for her! Overall this was a great book! I truly enjoyed reading it, I did finish it in a day and a half lol. This is my first book by this author and I would absolutely like to read more from her.
This book meets the charming expectations set by its title! You’ll love the Christmas magic and cute holiday romance vibes. The book’s relationship is between chemist and writer Olivia and former Navy SEAL Jace; with the help of the cruise’s passengers and some Christmas cookies, their chemistry is a joy to see. This is the cute read for the holiday season.

I am always up for a random erotic read, this is a different level. This was a great underlining plot the romance was very intoxicating. This author created character development and a very enjoyable read. I look forward to reading more of this author. This is a quick, hot romance. We have all heard of the boy next door, and now we get a steamy girl next door with a past. It didn’t pick up for me right away however, when it got started I finished before I could blink. This author is very creative with the erotic scenery. I give this four stars. This was a new trope for me. BDSM. Like the song goes, sticks and stones may break my bones but chains and whips excite me.

I can honestly say I didn’t know what to expect walking into this, though the synopsis gives a fairly good idea as to what I was getting myself into. Mary Beth spoke to me in different ways, as she truly wants to help those around her, Elgin (Hud) in particular. Though she has the education backing her to utilize her abilities in more of a mainstream fashion, she feels more comfortable and true to herself by doing so via her “Mistress” persona. Hud is very much what one would see as an Alpha, though this does not apply in the bedroom. He has his demons and ghosts, and I very much enjoyed how these two melded together to make a very addictive story.
All in all, not necessarily my cup of tea, but I very much enjoyed this authors writing style and the story within the story. Well done!

Book 4 in a 4 part series. I have also read book 3 these two seem to be written in roughly the same time period but focused on a different couple, so there are eastereggs from and about the other book(s).
In this book we get to read about Luke and his adorable daughter, Brielle aka Brie, and how they are both looking for a fun loving nanny to join them. I love how much of an adoring father Luke is. While he is still a rocker at heart, he has put his daughter first and focuses on her needs. He knows what it is like to have no parental figure as he was abandoned as a baby. Of course being a good dad, Luke asks what Brie wants in a nanny and she states she wants someone fun, pretty, and who can dance.
Enter Nikki, a specially trained nanny who is looking for a new placement, and who is a HUGE Default Distraction fan, specifically Luke’s. I love that Nikki is not the stereotypical nanny. She has a few tattoo’s, is on the younger side, and has her tongue pierced. She’s also a trained ballet dancer, which Brie loves. While I really enjoy Nikki personally, I love her family, and how big her/their heart is for others. I also appreciate that we have a character with a major disability that is not talked about in passing, or that is just brushed aside.
The romance that builds between Luke and Nikki feels organic and well thought out. It is not rushed, and in fact there’s many instances that had me laughing out loud at the antics of the characters. I love how the band members are all also rooting for one another to find happiness instead of whining and complaining about it, which seems to be popular among musician romance books.
Having read book 3 and 4, I certainly need to go back and read 1 and 2 because I have questions, darn it! But I would also love to see more of Brielle and Flint in future books or novellas to see where they end up. Ah, the life of a rockstar child.

WTH did I just read?! How can a single book make you feel all the feels and leave you reeling like that?! 4.5 Rounded up
I didn’t know where to start with this review, so I’m breaking it down as follows:
The good: – Strong female MC. How much crap can one person go through and still be okay?! Liz’s character is thrown curveball after curveball, and still is willing to get up and fight the fight, and when she’s not, she has people around her who help build her back up. – Mafia espionage. There’s so much political angst, from governmental agencies, both secret and “aboveboard” are touched on here, as well as mafia (in)fighting. There’s the Italian, Russian, and Greek mafia galore here. Who is fighting whom?
The “eh”: – The romance aspect. I am reluctant to call this a romance novel. I would call this a mafia thriller with some romance thrown in. Even then, I personally didn’t feel the “romance” between Marco and Liz. Sure there’s sexual tension, but I didn’t fall for the couple. – Everyone wants Liz. We get it, she’s the FMC, but no single person is wanted, politically or desired, the amount that she is. Everyone just seems to yearn for her in some way.
While there is a decent amount of “eh” to this novel, I still am going with my 4.5 star rating. This book will stick with me, even among the numerous dark romances that I enjoy. Something about this book is so different that it stands out.
Content warning: graphic depiction of sēxual assault, r@pe, violence against women, su!cide, violent death, gun violence.

Wow this book is definately not for the faint hearted. It is quite a brutal read and has scenes that some readers may feel is a trigger. However if you aren’t affected then this books is an amazing read. It has everything, murder, mystery, lies and deceit, Mafia families and romance. I don’t want to go into the story because it will give it away but it is such a good read that I couldn’t put it down and read it in one sitting.
I loved our leading lady Liz. She is such an amazing strong character and even after all the trauma and abuse she goes through she still can love and trust which is amazing to read.
Moving to a new country with his daughter, rockstar Luke, is trying to do right by his little girl. But his attraction to the nanny could spell trouble.
Nikki has had her eye on Luke for some time and she is living with him as his daughters nanny. When there’s a possibility that he might felt the same, will she risk her job?
I have not read any of the previous novels but I really enjoyed this. I don’t read rockstar novels often but I’m glad I picked this up.
It was a quick read, with great lovable characters but I could not put it down.
Nikki’s personality I just loved and Luke talking about his past just broke my heart.
I plan on reading the other books in the series to know more about the characters and their stories.

What can I say!! Seeing as I have not read the first, this one is the second book but holds its own! This book is about heartbreak, second chances and deserving to find happiness and love. There are many emotions in this book and you feel them all as you read along. Breckin and Griff are so deserving of love and everyone is rotting for it to happen. Definitely a must read and can’t wait for more!!!

The author did a great job with character development, and the book gets pretty steamy and graphically detailed during BDSM scenes. I kind of feel like there could be some spin-offs of this novel giving more of a backstory to both of the main characters, Hud and Mary Beth, or there could have been more revealed in this novel leading up to their meeting.
The short amount of time (less than a week, really) that Mary Beth was Hud’s Mistress seems like a super tight timeline for the two of them to make the progress they made in their relationship, and made it feel less realistic to me, even if some of the scenes got intense. The book was unpredictable in how it progressed and ended, though, and the epilogue kind of helped tie up the story nicely.
