I really enjoyed this book. It’s hard to believe even from Rowan’s point of view, that smuggling could get you the consequence of death. Her cousin makes me laugh. He is rambunctious but also careful when he needs to be, especially when Rowan takes risks and often makes choices that may not always be the right one. I hope to continue reading this series as I had to read it through without stopping.

This is book two of this series and I have been waiting for this story to emerge! I would recommend reading book one also to help with the backdrop to the story ahead. Donovan (the 300 year old lawyer) and Shirley (Donovan’s Judge lady that he ‘turned’) are on the run from the Vampire Coalition. This is such a great series to read if you want a new take on vampire story!

Seelie Kay really brought the suspense in book two of the Donovan Trait series, Ye Gods! The Law is an Ass! I would personally recommend that you read the first book before diving into this one as it really is a continuation and we get everything set up in that one, besides it is fab as well! This one we find Donovan and his wife in all sorts of shenanigans as they simply want to begin a life together and start a family… of course that is not going to be an easy task given the genetics at play. When vampire nuns are introduced things become even more crazy but keeps the things fun and interesting to say the least! I look forward to seeing what the next book will bring!

This a Young Adult Romance novel and is 290 pages in length. This story follows Emme and Brendon. Emme starts dating Brendon, who to be honest, is a hot commodity. I loved the first book in this series so I was really excited for the second one as well and it did not disappoint. This book starts off right before Donovan and Shirley are about to get married. Come wedding day, Shirley finds out she is pregnant. It’s a miracle! Unfortunately the Coalition disagrees and the couple has to go on the run to protect their unborn child.
This book is a lot more mellow than the previous one in the series. It focuses on Donovan and Shirley settling down into their new life on the run. Bringing laws into the Vampire Coalition to try to get them to change their outdated ways. Also, figuring out this miracle pregnancy between a vampire and a recently turned human. What will come of the baby? The mother? I recommend reading this book and the previous if you haven’t already done so!
Seelie Kay is an amazing author, who would have thought of a Vampire lawyer? The way she writes Donovan’s character really got me in the mindset of an old timey gentleman. The way he talks and his personality traits. Then there is Shirley who is a sweet fiery judge. Both Donovan and Shirley are so different from each other but they just work. The flow of the book was just right. I sincerely hope there is going to be a third in this series!

The second book of the Donovan Trait series is even better than the first! Judge Shirley Magnusen and Lawyer/Vampire Prince Donovan Trait head to the alter for their big day.

Especially when it is more of a reminder of the Vampire Law. For Shirley, it was a long, but beautiful affair. This book took me back to what it felt like to be in high school. It reminded me a lot the quizila fanfic type of stories I would read in my preteen days. It’s a true young adult novel where alot of books these days with the same rating are more geared towards young adults in their early 20’s or super late teens. I wasn’t overly thrilled or attached with any particular character but I did enjoy being transported back to a simpler time where homework,boys and family issues were my only worries. If you want to time travel back to your youth and have a lighthearted read I’d go for it.

No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio was amazingly sweet and romantic (with a little spice). This is the brain popcorn I would binge while I was single and dreaming, and it sets the standards for my day dreams still!! I absolutely recommend this book if you are a romance fan!!
Following the routine of Kayla, a single mom who wants the best for her little girl, is heart-warming and also a little sad. But after she meets Tanner and banters with him, I could feel myself grinning! Between Rad being… not so Rad and Emmy being Kayla’s focus and Tanner needing to help his sister, I was very unsure of how this story would end. I will for sure be revisiting this book when I need a new day-dream for work!
Saratoga Roan by Bree M. Lewandowski was a sweet story. While it is a different type of love story than I normally like, it was still pretty good. It was a mature love story with a back and forth of paces that threw me for a loop. If you enjoy a mature love story with great descriptions, 10/10 would recommend it!
Following Cassie and Rhett was a whirlwind of people with a little bit of a mystery. Putting together their history as readers snatch up bits of information that she leaves for us was a lot of fun! As a reader you normally get it all at once or make it up yourself in a love story. The description of the places, people, and horses is beautiful, I wish we had that for emotions too though.

Krysten Lindsay Hager is completely amazing. When you pick up a book called Dating the IT Guy, you think of teenagers and fun and maybe a little fluff. Yes there’s teenagers and fun, but this book is so much more. I wish I could’ve read this book when I was a teenager. Everything felt so real, it’s a perfect snapshot of the struggles people (not just teenagers) go through every day.

Love’s Refrain is the outstanding first book in the Stardust Duet by KG Fletcher. I have been a huge fan of KG Fletcher for a few years and have devoured and loved everything she has written. For some reason I was a bit worried before reading Love’s Refrain that I would be put off by the time travelling aspect of the book. Well, slap me stupid as I should have known better that KG Fletcher can only write amazing books that blow my socks off. I absolutely adored Love’s Refrain. Kat and Phillip’s story is just amazing, both in the present day and when we are taken back to 1947. In fact, I think I enjoyed the parts set in 1947 the most, seeing how Kat and Phillip originally met and fell in love. I adored present day Phillip. He’s such a charming, sweet, adorable gentleman. I can imagine sitting listening to him talk for hours and being enthralled by him. Having had reservations before reading the book, I was instantly hooked by the story and totally engrossed in it. I really can’t wait to see what KG Fletcher has in store for Kat and Phillip in the 2nd part of this duet.

Debbie Zello messes with your mind in the story of “Why We Don’t Die in Dreams”. This is a paranormal/erotica genre read that is thrilling, sexy, and crazy. The story starts with a man by the name of Gavin McLean who is a detective in Boston. His partner Lou (female) becomes his go to, number one, all while he is struggling with very weird, descriptive, life-like dreams about women being killed. The kicker is that he is not the only one, but what does that mean? As I read it, I loved his character traits of being pompous, but sweet, self-centered, but caring of others, all at the same time. However, through the journey there were times where I was completely confused; there are a couple changes of events that happen without warning and you are saying “WTF I need to go back and read that again because I missed something”. Once you got over the shock of the changing events, the story got more and more interesting, but you have to be into erotic, craziness to enjoy – which I am!! I am looking forward to reading the second book in the series.

Lara Ward Cosio created a really well-written romance that is sweet, loving, realistic, but also very steamy, at times. This story is about a woman raising her daughter alone after her ex boyfriend, a rock star, abandons them. It has been many years since Kayla has been with a man or even interested. However, in her daily routine of getting coffee meets a man she nicknames “Buns-of-Steel-guy”. Her obsession with his ass gets her caught, and that same man becomes intrigued with this stranger. Both are extremely busy with life, want more, but for the time being, settled into a “friends with benefits” routine. However, as many know, when you start to catch feelings, that same casualness is hard to maintain. Their journey takes you on a very realistic, romantic love story. I really enjoyed the interaction between the 2 characters and how easily they were able to just pick up on each other’s ways/needs/interactions. It was also really great to read a 1 and done book since it seems all stories today are in multiples.
No Strings Attached by Lara Ward Cosio a very busy but very good five-star read. This was a great romance, and I loved Kayla and Tanner, even if their lives made me feel like I wasn’t doing enough, they both just have so much going on and so many balls in the air threatening to fall. But the main not such a couple, couple aren’t the only great characters in this story, there are others who will sucker you in as well. This is a great story, by a great author and one you need to read.
Ye Gods! The Law is an Ass by Seelie Kay a flaming five-star read. This is number two in the Donovan Trait series and its just as good if not better than the first. This author just has something about them, there is a realness to the story no matter the subject, there is an original twist to every story. Donovan and Shirley bring this whole story to life, they take you on a tumultuous journey to the truth. This author is not one to be missed and this story is one you need in your life.

If I could give a book more than five stars, this would be one of them! I have not been left this speechless by the end of a book in a very long time, but after reading the Scarlet Princess by Robin D. Mahle and Elle Madison, it is safe to say that I am. This book forbade you from putting it down from the moment you picked it up, each paragraph making you question what the ending of this incredible story would be.
The anticipation in this book, however, barely rivals the chemistry between Princess Rowan of Lochlann Kingdom and Lord Theodore of Clan Elk of the Socair Kingdom. Despite all of the heart-racing inducing scenes throughout the book, which at times made me want to yell in frustration, the true captivation of this story lies in what happens between the two of them. Needless to say, the ending of this book had me in tears for many reasons, reasons that I will not give away because everyone deserves to read this amazing book! I am very much looking forward to reading the next novel!

Entwined (Stone and Cinder Book 1) by A.L. Morrow was a beautiful retelling of a classic tale with several interesting twists and turns. The characters were very well described and while some things in this retelling are different, but she makes sure to leave enough the same that the reader will definitely know which classic we are retelling. Her scenery descriptions are wonderful, there are a few spicy scenes so I would definitely recommend to an older Group of people, but we are well earned in advance. There are several creatures, princes, a kingdom and so much more that will have you delving into this short novella, and leave you craving more.

Entwined was an incredible read! I was originally caught by the cover because it was so pretty! I was expecting a short, sweet and to the point retelling of the classic Cinderella tale, but what I got was much better! This was a steamy and spicy read, enthralling, fast paced, and ends on a cliff hanger. I absolutely can not wait for the next installment to this! I was gripped from the beginning, my jaw dropped, I was in suspense throughout the whole thing. If you think the step mother is evil in the classic story you have no idea until you read this! I highly recommend this read!

Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager was a very interesting read, while a lot of YA stories can take you back to your teenage years, Hager writes in a way that will make you feel every emotion that you felt back then. Her main characters are great, it the real question is will these two love interests have anything in common, you’ll have to read for yourself. This book was filled with so many emotions including angst, romance, joy, growth, and so much more that it really makes you feel those teenage years all over again. But just like any romance there is bad communication, advice from friends, and so much more so will this budding romance last? You’ll have to read Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager to find out.

Love’s Refrain: A Time Travel Romance by KG Fletcher is the first book in The Stardust Duet series. The book is a lovely romance involving time travel that kept me reading late into the night. Kat Monroe and pianist Phillip Gordon meet under unusual circumstances. Will they be able to overcome all the obstacles to find true love? This is a beautifully written tale of two people destined for one another. The time travel element reminds me of Somewhere in Time or something similar. Unfortunately, I wanted the best for the characters and had difficulty putting down the book to get some sleep. I am looking forward to the next book in this series.

Very good YA romance. Emme is a girl who recently had a breakup with a boy that cheated on her and has trust issues. When Emme takes a summer class she is paired up with Brendon Agretti, who is a senator’s son. Every girl wants to date Brendon, but as Emme and Brendon grow closer, Emme’s insecurity sets in. Brendon has this ex girlfriend who wont let go and Emme also has to deal with medical issues that her grandparents are going through. There is so much to this story that really takes you back to high school years. I truly believe we all have had these feelings of insecurities and crushes in high school at some point so it is very easy to relate to these characters. Well done Author Krysten Lindsay Hager!

This a very cute time travel read! When I first started the book, I wasn’t sure how the time travel was going to be incorporated. I’m hooked on this series. The verbal duals in the court room, the witty banter of the main characters, the plot twists, and the drama of the vampire coalition have me on the edge of my seat. So well written and intellectually entertaining. This one has Donovan & Shirley in exile and fighting the antiquated Coalition. I can’t wait for the next in the series!

This is my first read in this series and if I hadn’t read the reviews, I might not have known other Lochlann books existed. With that being said I fell in love with the authors writing, character development and scene building. Rowan is a spitfire princess who seems to do things first and then ask questions later. Depicted as the black sheep of her family, always in trouble alongside her cousin Davin. In their latest escapade they get caught in an enemy kingdom and will be judged for their crimes at a summit of the clans. Lord Theodore is as straightlaced and uptight as they come but through shared moments Rowan seems to break through his outer shell to find the strong, protective, caring man that she never knew she needed. This is a book that teaches you that you cannot judge a book by its cover. Each story has two sides to it and although you may think you know everything there are always circumstances that you cannot even fathom. This book will take you on an emotional ride with Rowan as she learns that actions have consequences, but it is important to uphold your morals. Can Rowan and Theodore overcome generations of hate so they can have a future together? Will her future even last past the summit meeting of the clans? You have to read this book to find out but I promise this is one journey you’ll be glad you took!

Dating the It Guy was a wonderful book! Even though when reading it, I was overwhelmed with the sadness I felt throughout, I had to keep taking breaks to recoup my energy. What author Krysten Lindsay Hager did with this YA novel, it would come highly recommended by me to anyone who likes YA novels. The character development and the emotions of the characters, especially Emme, was on another level than books I’ve read in the past. Emme wasn’t the only one though Brendon had just as much character development and emotions throughout. I’m having trouble putting into words all that I felt while reading it. I can tell you Krysten Lindsay Hager has a gift because I was deeply and emotionally involved with these characters as if they were my family and friends. Most people growing up always have that one friend who wants to keep you on the right path and that rebellious friend who will never conform to everyone else. That perfectly describes Emma’s best friends and support system. The author takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions that are sad, satisfying, depressing, happy, and even some laughter. Don’t let the fact that it’s a YA novel, prevent you from giving it a chance. YA is a guilty pleasure for me, no matter how I am. So why can’t it be yours?

This is the first time I have read this author. Admittedly, I am a sucker for retelling of a fairy tale. I love to see how other authors interpret what the story could have looked like with other characters in different realms.
I did not read the description very close and was therefore a little surprised to find out that the prince has a husband. I know, shame on me for not reading it closely, but I was already drawn into the plot of the story and felt invested. I do tend to skim the explicit scenes, just because that is not what I read books for. However, I loved the tension that Ashling and the prince had. I also found it refreshing that she wasn’t swept up out of her dire circumstances, but chose to stand up for herself and take action!
All in all, a quick read that was enjoyable. Looking forward to seeing how the author continues the storyline.

Saratoga Roan by Bree M. Lewandowski is a country romance about two young lovers who ended up going through some trials and tribulations. Cassandra caused plenty of heartache when going halfway across the country from Wyoming to New York to Rhett because he was not giving her the love and affection she was wanting. But, one horse brings Cassandra and Rhett back together when she is needing to board her when deciding to move back to Wyoming and trying to to start again with Rhett. Can the heartfelt lovers rekindle their love from 5 years ago? Or will they go their separate ways? I enjoyed this world world wind fast paced romance. It gave me a Beth Dutton and Rip Yellowstone vibe. I truly hope there is a sequel to find out what happens next with them.
The Book of Carraig by Andrea Matthews is the second book in the Cross of Ciaran series. I would definitely recommend reading this series in order so that you can get a full enjoyment of it. I enjoyed how easy it was to get right back into this story and the characters. Ciaran and Caitlan really are so each to read about. Even in the second book you can feel their connection. I thought this was a really well written story too. The mystery and intrigue were great elements to the book. I am really pleased to see there is going to be a third book and I can’t wait to read it.
