My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the second book of Levi and Tasha’s story and I liked it as much as the first! It was non stop from the get go. The war with the hellspawn is increasing and just when I thought that the conflict was going to be resolved, something awful happens. The story takes a sudden sideways twist that I didn’t see coming. It surprised me, but I did love seeing justice served. There is also an element introduced to the whole mix toward the end and it feels like all the pieces are fitting into place to wrap it all up in the next book! Definitely looking forward to reading the conclusion!

All in all, this is a fantastic second book! Everyone needs a Levi kind of love and protector.

*This is an adult book with explicit sexual content.

Dating the Intern is Natalina Reis’ new romcom, and my new favorite book of hers. She is one of my go to authors. I like her writing style, and her attention to details. This book held my attention from beginning to end. My emotions were all over the place with this one. My thoughts are that it is a great book, if it makes you laugh out loud or sob like a baby. This book did both. Ivory and Li-Qiang are great characters with some hot chemistry. This book was just what I needed to de-stress for a few hours. Looking forward to reading more from Ms. Reis in the future.

Book 2 was amazing. It was filled with so much tension and war. Tasha and Levi’s journey together continues in book 2. This poor couple can not catch a break. The hellspawn are at their door every night trying to kill everyone in sight. The lycans and vampires are working together to try and save their races. Life gets even more interesting when Castus and his minions are on a warpath as well. He wants Tasha for payback and his evil plan. The Master hellspawn wants her too and she belongs to Levi. Levi is going crazy trying to keep her safe at every turn.
I can’t wait to read the next book

DATING THE INTERN by Natalina Reis is a very fun rom com, with humor, romance, emotion, and more. Ms. Reis really knows how to write her plot in such a beautiful fashion that she hooks her readers from the very beginning. She includes all of our favorite things for a good rom com and gives us just enough drama to keep us on the edge of our seats. Personally I loved that this story was a little more light-hearted then some stories, proving to be the perfect short rom com that you need in-between more serious stories.

A fantastic love story about friendship, loss and reconciliation. The story grabs you from the first moment you open the book. Renee has a knack for making you feel like you are in the story not just reading it. Dahlia and Levi are amazing characters, full of depth and conflicting emotions. They make this story a romance for the ages.

This is my first book I have read by CR Robertson. It is not my usual genre and it took me a little while to get into the book but I am glad I stuck with it because it turned out to be a great book. My favorite parts were the action kicking butt scenes. Also it is a good mix with the sexy romance between Levi and Sasha. They are truly a forbidden mix of lovers. Long lost family is reunited and its nice to see everyone back together.

I was pulled into and captured by this beautifully written book by Natalina Reis. It’s a Romantic Comedy that touches on dealing with trauma and with verbal abuse. I normally read more fantasy/syfy type books but this one caught my attention and held it. This book was funny, sweet, sexy, and just full of love. Ivory Towers is a successful business woman who runs a dating company but has a hard time with finding love herself. When the opportunity comes to promote her business by letting the world see she not only gives great advice but lives by it as well she freaks out and accepts the help of a very attractive intern -Li Qiang- who has been watching her for quite some time. What started as a fake relationship to save face really blossomed into a very real love story. I will be quick to pick up another book written by her, it’s been so long since I enjoyed a romance like this. Also her use of Mandarin words and phrases throughout the book was such a great way to bring the character to life.

This was a short opposites attractive insta-love story.
Brody is a Hollywood actor trying to take a break before his next role. Willa is a free spirit house sitting her grandfather’s place next door.
From the moment they meet there is an instant attraction and Brody starts to realise that he’s been missing something in his life. Willa has an ex that won’t take no for an answer but finds that Brody could be the first guy she might want to settle down with.
These two were so sweet with each other, both finding an instant attraction to the other.
I did not like meddling Carmody, and I’m not sure why she was allowed to stick around for so long. Hayden, the ex, was kind of likeable but also an idiot.
Even though this story was short, you got to know the characters as they got to know each other.

This one starts out with a premise we’ve seen before – for one reason or another, a woman finds herself in a bind due to a little white lie that snowballs quickly. Ivory, matchmaker by trade, tells a reporter doing a feature on her business that she has a boyfriend, and now needs to find one PDQ! Enter sexy young intern Li Qiang, who volunteers to fill the role and save her skin, and hilarious hijinks ensue. Ivory is a tad on the clueless side, and seems to be unable to assess the information in front of her as to whether or not her burgeoning real feelings for the intelligent faux beau are reciprocated or not. Putting that aside, this story does actually go to some interesting places emotionally, adding some depth and shadow to the pairing that is pretty interesting. The book is romantic, whimsical, and sultry with some nuance to the characters I found entertaining. A good read.

Ride For Me (The North Shore Crew Book 1) by Vi Summers – Review by Amy Brennan

Ride For Me (North Shore Crew Series, Book 1)Ride For Me by Vi Summers
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lil and Gage have that special something that most grown women dream of, wish for, and deem ‘relationship goals.’ Despite their previous relationships that ended in tragedy, and the initial need to fight that zing that they both feel, they cautiously explore a friendship, and recognize the potential that could have them be so much more. I felt as though Vi Summers did an amazing job introducing the reader on The North Shore Crew members, their different connections, and the lifelong friendships that they’ve shared. They are each other’s chosen family, and the drama and growth that each of them goes through and their support system leaves the reader wanting and appreciating their friendships as well. I absolutely adore the connection that Lil and her brother Josh ‘Mickey’ share, how we see how the two main characters deal with their own grief and losses, and encourage the reader to be stronger, and to appreciate the little things.

The only thing was that I felt as though the book was a wee bit long. The first half does tend to drag a bit, only because it’s a lot of build up to Lil and Gage’s HEA. Once you hit the 50% mark, things start to really pick up, and the reader is drawn in, if anything like me, and finishing the remainder of the book in one sitting. There are a lot of raw emotions, some graphic events, lots of love, care, and sincerity. A++ from this avid reader, very much looking forward to indulging in more by this author, specifically Break for Me, where we’ll get to dive into Mace and Jess’s adventure!

Power packed with emotion! This book gets you from the start. Gage and Lil both come into the story with history. Written with amazingly well -written characters, the plot keeps you engaged with the main and supporting characters. They will go through good times, rough times and very challenging times. What makes the relationship is that they come through it together. They are there to support each other and get through it. The crew is all there for each other. This is one heck of book. I can’t wait to get out and get the rest of the series. Ms. Summers can write books that keep you locked in. Highly recommend.

5 Star!!!!!

I absolutely love Sherrilyn Kenyon and Cassandra Clare so of course I fell for this book series. I could not put this book down. I love how the forbidden love plays a part in it and that there is just as much adventure as romance comes to play in this book. The characters are well written. The author brings a fresh outlook to witches, lycans and vampires.

Tasha and Levi have the forbidden love that brings the reader in and the story draws you in deeper and deeper. I found that there was just enough action and drama that keeps the reader glued to your seat and not want to stop reading. I like how there is just enough of a carrot dangled to keep the reader wanting more and I for one cannot wait for the next book.

This story is good although not one of my favorites by this author. The story moves along at a nice pace and the characters are very down to earth. I just really struggled to feel the connection between these two characters. At times it would show up with his character but hers it just never came. She is a successful owner of her own company who has a lot of inner turmoil and hidden issues. I was just surprised someone who built their own company would act the way this character does.

I really enjoyed his family and her friend they were all good secondary characters. The younger brother added some comic relief to the story.

Overall I enjoyed the characters and the issues that were brought up are very true to form. It moves along and has a nice flow.

A fun and quick read to enjoy on a weekend. Well worth the purchase. This author was new to me. i enjoyed her style of writing as the main character is shy and you can see it in the writing. The plot is very entertaining. Who doesn’t enjoy reading about a developer who makes a dating app yet doesn’t have an SO? I always love these stories as the scramble is on to find one. Her assistant is both smart and hot? Bingo. Their interactions were well-developed and realistic, funny too. For a book nerd like me (yes, I admit it!), this book hits all the right spots. Run out and get it, go order or do whatever you do to read it. Highly recommend you read it.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Ride For Me is the first book in the North Shore Crew series by Vi Summers. The North Shore Crew are a group of best friends who have been friends since childhood and still best of friends. I had never read any of this author’s work before but I was intrigued by the blurb of this book and decided it was worth giving it a try. I’m so glad that I decided to take a chance on this book as I thoroughly enjoyed it.
This first book gives us the story of Lil. Lil is the life and soul of the party and is recovering from a very bad break up. Gage comes to stay with his cousin who is one of the crew. He has heartbreak in his past and it trying to move on with his life and he’s shocked by the reaction that he has to meeting Lil.
This is not some cheesy romance story, there is so much more going on in this book. It has danger and mystery and intrigue to add to the romance and I was really gripped by the storyline of this book.
The thing I loved most about this book is the friendship, love and camaraderie that the crew all have for each other. This is such a tight knit group and I loved reading about them and can’t wait to read more from this series.

Vi Summers covers all the bases in this romance suspense novel! The first of 5 novels, this story follows Gage as he tries one more time to find his way back to life after tragedy struck in his marriage years before. He can’t seem to feel anything or find reasons to be alive any longer. He comes to hang with the Crew of friends that his cousin hangs with where he meets Lil. Lil and Gage have a chemistry that jumps off of the pages at you! You want them to get together, but they fight you all the way! Lil’s past comes to haunt them and Gage find himself at a place where he could lose his second chance at love. There is NO way he’s going to let that happen! I am SO excited to read the next story. Grab this book so that it can grab you back!

I loved this short and sweet whirlwind romance between Brody and Willa. A story of 2 strangers that meet in the night, through a strange mishap, that instantly have a connection. The best part about this book was the banter and playfulness that the characters had. As a girl who loves a good romance novel, for as much banter as the two had, I was wishing for a little more detail in the sex department. The most endearing part, for me however, was the fact that Brody handled himself, as to what I believe, a true man should. He was kind, supportive, patient, caring, sexy, playful, down to earth, but also driven. Lets just say Willa wasn’t the only girl falling in love with him!!

In book 1, Forbidden Wolf, you fell in love with the two main characters, Levi and Tasha. In this second book, you fell in love with their story and the strength that love can provide. Levi and Tasha once again are trying to win this war against the hellspawn (and those that oppose their connection). At every turn, the couple is dealing with diversity, and when things start to look up, something else gets in their path. But the bond and strength and uniqueness of being mated helps conquer even the most turmoil of situations. One thing I just love about paranormal romances is the way authors talk about bonds, love, soul mates, etc. It is done in such a way that you yearn for those feelings. CR Robertson writes in a fashion where I can physically feel what these characters are feeling just by reading the words – that’s talent.

This was my first book by Natalina Reis, as well as an age gap where the woman is older. I assumed this book would be very cheesy from reading the description but found out during the first few pages it’s very natural. Ivory Tower’s skepticism with love is very relatable and doesn’t seem forced or cliche. While reading the book at first I did think it was a little weird that the author repeated the character’s full name like “Li Quang” and “Amber Lee” consistently, but I found it helped the characters stick in my head. I loved this book and am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Forbidden Mate is the second book in this series by C. R Robertson. It picks up where it leaves off with Levi and Tasha falling more and more in love and right in the middle of a war between Lycans, vampires and hellspawn.
Forbidden Mate yanked me in just as the first book did. I have completely fallen head over heels for Levi and Tasha as characters and their growing relationship. This story is well written as I lost track of time as I just couldn’t put it down. I was so invested in learning about what happens next that I kept promising myself.. just one more chapter.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The first book in The North Shore Crew series, Ride for Me by VR Baucke has you hooked from the very first chapter! The book started out a bit confusing due to the prologue being set four months in the future, but as the book continues everything slowly started to make sense and made me want to keep reading it more and more.

The perfect ‘opposites attract’ friends to lovers story, Lil and Gage have both dealt with heartache and loss, making an interesting spin on the story. There were definitely times that I was tempted to yell at my phone as I was reading it, getting frustrated with the men in the story. If you read it, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

This was my first read by VR Baucke, but certainly won’t be my last! I am excited to eventually read the other books in this series.

Book two sees us back with Lycan Levi and Vampire Tasha. After starting a war with their love in book one, this story has a whole new set of complications, challenges, and battles. There is so much history and bad feelings between the Lycans and the Vampires that sparks fly constantly.

Gabe has been just existing at the moment, finding a little solace in life but when a meeting with his cousin presents him with another option to live his life has he the guts to let anyone back into his broken heart.

When Gabe sees her across the room he is instantly drawn to her not just looks but the person inside, but when he gets to know her and understands her life has been full of devastation, can this bring the two of them peace with each other.

This is a well written story with the chemistry of the two main characters jumping off the page. With the history of Gabe you feel like he is totally broken but have hope that he will be brought back to life and he is with Lil. The story is a slow burn between these two and offers a great read with emotion and hope.

My Soul to Give (A Demon’s Love Book 1) by M. A. Fréchette is a dark and unique paranormal tale. With lies and secrets, drama and suspense, murder and revenge, demons, and religious zealots there is a little bit of everything that makes this story intriguing. It is delightfully raw and gritty with suspense and twists and some steamy romance. There is mystery and darkness, pain and horror, tragedy and heart wrenching moments made it hard to put down. There were moments when things didn’t quite gel where details were missing or just trailed off with out further explanation but over all I found I needed to know the outcome. The characters are interesting and complex, and compelling. If you are a fan of very dark romances, then you will love this book. What are you prepared to give up for revenge?

Forbidden Love, bad choices and second chances!
Master Tuscano is just as good as Master Descallia if not better.
In this book the Syndicate, witches, shifters, rogue vampires and Consulate seem to all have their own agendas. These additional characters add to the story very well.

Delilah ran off with the witches because she was denied the life with Christian that she wanted by the Consulate. She seeks refuge with the witches who treat her kind, even though they have a long-standing vendetta with the vampires.
When Christian found her after her abduction, he seeks revenge. He doesn’t realize she wants her own revenge. That is, until she keeps disobeying his direct orders and darn the consequences! (Even though she enjoys the consequences very much 😉)

When a TV station would like to feature Ivory and her company and get to know her on a more personal level with her “boyfriend” there is one issue….Ivory does not have a boyfriend.
