Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven Series Book 3) by AJ Renee – Review by Rebecca Hill

Cursed Whispers (Broderick Coven, #3)Cursed Whispers by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Cursed Whispers by AJ Renee is the third book in the Broderick Coven series. This series is centered around the Broderick family. The siblings have discovered that they come from a family of witches and that they all have powers. Each book centers around a sibling as that sibling learns more about their powers. This book is about Max Broderick. He has the gift of hearing animals’ thoughts and talking to them in their head. This comes in handy when he meets an injured werewolf. I have really enjoyed this series and enjoyed this book as well. But an important note – there is a trigger warning for anyone affected by rape or sex trafficking. This book was also pretty graphic in the sex scenes. I still enjoyed watching Claudia overcome all that she had been through as well as meeting her adorable daughter Katia. Fantastic series with relatable characters!

So Close (Love Grows Series Book 4) by Renee Regent – Review by Juls Dick

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

So Close is the 4th book in the Love Grows series by Renee Regent. The story follows single parent Dahlia, who has recently been promoted into her dream job role at the resort she works at and Levi, who has been hired to work with Dahlia on a time sensitive project. The only issue is that the pair already have a touchy history, from being best friends as children up until they became enemies 7 years ago. The pair had never admitted how they truly felt about each other. When they do finally reconnect, the question is will they be able to rebuild the trust that Dahlia feels was broken and will the other people in their lives let them succeed. This is an enjoyable contemporary romance, ideal for people who enjoy a second chance/friends to lovers’ romance. The characters are written well, and the author does a good job of immersing you in the scene.

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book is one of my top ten favorite reads of 2021! I found myself going through just about every single emotion that one could while reading it and it was beyond refreshing! I was just blown away with how well this book was written and done. I will say the enemies to lovers, friends etc thing is normally not my cup of tea because it is a trope I have just outplayed myself on. I read it so much growing up that I felt as if I had read it all and none of them were that good anymore. This one however really took the cake and just played all the cards so right that I was sucked in and completely fell in love with it all over again. I can’t say enough good things about this book, but I won’t divulge any goods either and spoil it so I will keep this review brief with them and tell you to run and buy the whole series. All of them. This is book four of Renee Regents Love Grows Series and I have read them all so I wasn’t lost at all, and I wouldn’t imagine if you hadn’t read them all you would have issues but I would suggest reading them anyway because they are all good too! This one just happens to be my favorite. Dahlia and Levi will rip you apart, make you mad, like scream at your kindle and get weird looks from your family mad, and then they will slowly put you back together again and make you fall in love with love again. What more could you want in a romance novel? Go one-click today!

Stripped (Stripped Book 1) by Stacy-Deanne – Review by Kerry Carr

Stripped (The Stripped Series Book 1)Stripped by Stacy-Deanne
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first  book in the Stripped Series and wow what a start. I loved it and read the whole thing in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down.

It’s a story about murder with a romance and psychological twist to it. I love how strong our leading lady Dee is. But with all the mind games even she isn’t immune to the thought of a perfect carefree life.
When Dee and Connie are tasked to solve the murder of a young woman called Amber it takes them on a wild ride leading them into the arms of a cult.
The story has so many twists and turns that I never knew who the murderer was until it was revealed at the end of the book. The book also leaves the opening for the second book. And I have a feeling we haven’t seen the last of our mind game playing cult leader Johnathan. I have a feeling he’s not finished with Dee just yet.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great paranormal romance! I enjoyed Carter and Vanessa’s relationship and how it grows throughout the story. I liked Vanessa as a character and her curiosity about the supernatural things around her. Carter was interesting being a witch and a doctor. This is the second book I’ve read by this author and it was definitely a worthwhile read. This is a great series. I would definitely recommend this book for anyone looking for a light read.

Unbreakable (The Diamonds, #1)Unbreakable by Tee Smith
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow this is one fantastic book! Erin is a nurse at a clinic when she first meets Curtis “Ripper” Bandura. At first, there is instant heat between them. As the story unfolds you really feel for these characters. There is a very dark past that comes to light about Ripper that Erin finds out. Can she forgive Ripper for his past? You learn also about Erin, and what she has been through as well. Two hearts with different upbringings and dark pasts. This story is full of intrigue, murder, love and redemption. I don’t want to give to much away but highly recommend this book by Author Tee Smith… praying there will be a book 2 😊

So Close (Love Grows #4)So Close by Renee Regent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a great contemporary romance read and my first from Author Renee Regent but will definitely not be my last. Dahlia and Levi grew up together and were best friends. After a falling out, Dahlia felt betrayed by Levi and has not spoken to him in years. After Dahlia receives a promotion at work, her boss has Dahlia work with a contractor to get ready for a big party, and that contractor ends up being Levi. Growing up, Levi and Dahlia had a crush on each other but their feelings were never revealed. When Dahlia and Levi start working together, at first, it had to stay strictly professional. Dahlia was still hurt and angry from the past betrayal she felt with Levi. After working together for a few weeks, slowly the walls come down and Levi and Dahlia go from best friends to lovers. This story is fantastic and I truly enjoyed each character. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

HOLD ME FOREVER (HERON HARBOR Book 3) by LEA NOLAN – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Hold Me ForeverHold Me Forever by Lea Nolan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Hold Me Forever is part of the Heron Harbor series, but is a stand alone book. It is the first I have read, and it seems each book focuses on one Donovan sister. This book focuses on Lark, the free spirited artist sister. I will likely go back and read the other 2, because I enjoyed this book. The characters have very well written and realistic personalities and the supporting characters seem to as well. The story is told in 3rd person, but with a back and forth focus on either Lark or Hunter. This worked well because it told us about each of their feelings and perspective, but did not have to wait for the next chapter, like most books that alternate POV. There were a couple things I didn’t like in the story. I didn’t quite understand why Lark kept her relationship with Hunter a secret. Seems like she was really close with her sisters, but kept a 2 year relationship and engagement a secret… Also, there seemed to be a lot of messed up childhoods, and it got to be somewhat depressing at points. Parents that died, absent fathers, lying parents, abandoned kids… seemed like everyone who grew up in Heron Harbor had a bad homelife. Beyond that though, it was a good story and I would read more by Lea Nolan.

Avenging Devil Part 2 (Satan’s Devils MC San Diego #4) by Manda Mellett – Review by Tara Johnson Barnes

Avenging Devil Part 2: Satan's Devils MC San DiegoAvenging Devil Part 2: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Avenging Devil Part 2: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellet starts off where Avenging Devil Part 1: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego left off. Part one left us on a cliff-hanger wondering what was going to become of Saffie and Niran.

Saffie’s past has caught up with her and Niran is embroiled in it. To save Saffie from her husband, Duke, Niran says that he was the one responsible for aiding in Saffie’s capture by her abusive ex, Duke. Saffie is devastated by this news and believes that the one person she felt that she could trust, Niran, has betrayed her trust and lied to her all along. She loathes Niran for betraying her and feels that no biker can be trusted. Niran vows to keep Saffie safe at all costs and avenge her, but to do so Saffie must believe his lies.

Avenging Devil Part 2 was an intense, emotional ride and not one for the faint hearted or for anyone easily triggered. It left me riveted as I wondered what would become of both Saffie and Niran. My heart ached for Saffie, and I felt anguish over the abuse she suffered by her husband, Duke, and his club members. Manda Mellet does a fantastic job of describing the characters and drawing the reader into each scene, making the reader feel as though they are there. I anxiously kept turning the pages to see what would become of both Saffie and Niran. I highly recommend this book!

Master Tuscano (Masters of the Consulate Book 2) by Sylvia Black – Review by Naomi McDonald

Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance (Masters of the Consulate Book 2)Master Tuscano: Dark Vampire Romance by Sylvia Black
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Master Tuscano is the second book in the Masters of the Consulate series. It helps to read the first book so you have some background on the worldbuilding.
I liked the male lead in this book better than the one in the first book. This relationship at least felt like there was some romantic feelings rather than just lust.
The female characters banding together to go off to hunt the bad guys was awesome.
This story has danger and a bit of mystery to help move things along. This series isn’t exactly what I expected, but I’m warming to it.

HOLD ME FOREVER (HERON HARBOR Book 3) by LEA NOLAN – Review by Karyn Taylor

Hold Me ForeverHold Me Forever by Lea Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hold Me Forever is the 3rd book in the Heron Harbour series by Lea Nolan. Although part of a series, Hold Me Forever can be read as a stand alone. I have read the 2nd book in this series, and now the 3rd but hadn’t read the first book and didn’t feel that I was missing any necessary information that would reduce my enjoyment. I would love to read the first book though and get Wren and Smith’s story.
In this book we get the story of the 3rd Donovan sister, artist Lark, who feels like the black sheep of the family. Lark has returned home to Heron Harbour to attend Wren’s wedding. Given the role of doing the last minute jobs for the wedding she’s thrust together with best man, Police chief, Hunter McMullen. Unknown to friends and family, Lark and Hunter were engaged years before.
This is a fantastic second chance romance. I loved reading Lark and Hunter’s story. Being forced together to do the last minute wedding prep, Lark and Hunter both fight the love and attraction that is still between them.
Seeing other family members who have arrived for the wedding also causes Lark to rethink much of her life when she hears stories which give her much to ponder.
Now that we have the stories of the 3 Donovan sister’s I hope that this series will not come to an end. I’m sure the residents of Heron Harbour still have more stories to tell.

Forbidden Mate (The Shadow Chronicles Book 2) by CR Robertson – Review by Angela Hayes

Forbidden MateForbidden Mate by C.R. Robertson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG! She did it again!!! I just can’t get enough of these characters and their spellbinding story!!! This right here is pure paranormal perfection!! All the stars!!!!
Forbidden Mate is the exciting second instalment in The Shadow Chronicles by C.R Robertson. I devoured the first book and it immediately became my favourite read for the year, so to say I had high expectations for this book would be an understatement. I have been anticipating the release of this book and was sooooo excited when it finally landed on my Kindle five days ago. I shoved aside everything else that I had planned to read and plunged headfirst into the action. It only took me a few hours to read it, as I practically inhaled it. I got to the end and turned around and started it again- two more times- it was THAT GOOD!!!
This was more than I had hoped for- an incredibly riveting read that has taken my addiction to C.R Robertson’s work to a whole new high- but it’s an addiction I am happy to feed and have no intention of quitting any time, ever! To say I loved it is an understatement.
This is a fast-paced, action-packed, adrenaline fuelled, paranormal romance, with a complex, multi-layered, and addictive storyline. The story is incredible, with vampires, Lycans, demon hellspawn, witches, sizzling chemistry, politics, agendas, drama, danger, secrets, paranormal beings, battle scenes, violence, adventure, sizzling encounters, fated mates, and even higher stakes than the first book. Again, I love Ms. Robertson’s take on Vampire and Lycan lore, she really does know how to tell a very compelling and exciting story.
As this story continues on from where Book One left off, I really recommend reading Forbidden Wolf before starting on this one. Trust me, you will want to know what happens there before continuing the adventure. I am seriously on tenterhooks for the release of book three, Forbidden Moon, which I am anticipating will be quite a bittersweet read, as I really want to continue this series but I have just discovered that it will be the conclusion to Tasha and Levi’s story, and I’m not sure I am ready to say goodbye.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED READING!!! Seriously, if you love fantasy, paranormal romance, or just love being immersed in a spellbinding adventure- then you will really want to get your hands on this book/series, STAT! You really won’t be disappointed! But prepared for the massive heat wave and addiction that comes with it!!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, C.R Robertson!

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Series Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Katrina Evanochko

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Carter is one of the 7 Broderick siblings. Vanessa is a talented jewelry maker with her own shop. They meet when Vanessa helps a neighbour get to the hospital where Carter just happens to be consulting and runs into her. Sparks fly when they meet (literally!). I love both characters and think they are really good together.

I enjoyed this book. I liked that despite the fact that they were fated mated, neither Vanessa nor Carter took that for granted. Vanessa didn’t let Carter get away with anything, and Carter tried to get to know Vanessa for who she was and tried to build a real relationship instead of assuming fated meant easy.

I have not read the other books in this series, and I think I will go back and read them as the other characters and their stories intrigued me. I also feel like I would understand a bit more if I had read the other books first… I did feel like I was missing some background information. Despite that, you can still enjoy this book as a standalone.

HOLD ME FOREVER (HERON HARBOR Book 3) by LEA NOLAN – Review by Faith Jackson

Hold Me ForeverHold Me Forever by Lea Nolan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love how relatable I can see myself in Lark (the main character) but the sensational journey their love sends us down in this book will leave your heart racing but in a good way. I love the way this author returns both characters back into one another’s life with their history: The fact they’re reunited with another couple’s union is powerful in its own right. A love story within another one is great reading, to me, the sucker for romance. The chemistry within their body language described in the story speaks to exactly what draws me into these characters. Their bodies speak more than they actually do to draw them near. I have been pulling for them to rekindle and also for them to give one another a second chance. This story goes in depth on connecting these two. Pick up your copy and enjoy this read!

This story flowed along so nicely I didn’t even realize I was getting to the end of the story. I loved meeting these two and watching them reconnect. They made me laugh and smile at their antics. Then when Hunter upped the ante and decided to start swooning her…I couldn’t stop reading.

The secondary characters are a treat! I enjoyed her sisters then there was Hunter’s BFF, who happens to be the groom. Their little heart to heart talk made my day!

Overall this is a wonderful story that really kept my interest. There is stress and good times as well as a few surprises. This is a first time author for me and I will be keeping my eye our for more from her.

I fell into this series by accident and not realizing I had started reading book three first, ‘Cursed Whispers’, which is about Claudia and Max. ‘Cursed Touch’ is the fourth book in the Broderick Coven series and is about Max’s younger brother, Carter and Vanessa.
I love reading about the slow build between Carter and Vanessa. I never could really figure them out, which is why the build was that much more intense and exciting to read. The story is also fast paced and has enough twists and turns to keep you on your toes!
This really is a good read!

RepairRepair by Trish Williford

I absolutely LOVED this book. Three siblings, Charlotte (Charlie), Jade & Dane; all work in highly demanding, public service occupations. Charlie, the main character, is a trauma nurse that is highly fulfilled in her job, but not in her love life. After a broken engagement, she moves back home to reconnect with her high school crush & brother’s best friend, Tank. Obstacles persist and trials develop. Can they overcome the past and connect as adults in a meaningful way?? The characters are deep and rich with integrity. An easy read that will keep you engaged until the very last page! I look forward to more books about the siblings!

Bared by N.D. Jackson was full of friendship and so many feelings that I was overwhelmed with emotions. I am still new to this author (only my 2nd book) but her writing has a way of pulling you in with wonderful characters and her attention to details in her storytelling. I felt there were two relationships in the spotlight – Tru and Athena and the girls of Green Street (I want the Green Street Girls to be my friends!). Bared broke my heart and then had me crying as I put it back together. I can’t wait for the other Green St Girls to find their HEAs. Remember to live your life!

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cursed Touch is the fourth book in a series and a paranormal romance. I have to admit that this is the first book that I have read by this author, and I absolutely fell in love with it! I cannot wait to read more in this series. It was easy to pick up and read as a stand alone as well. The story line follows the brother, Carter, as he finds loves in the place that he lasted expected; the ER where he works. He can’t stop thinking about her from there. And fate finds them together again.

I love how the author, A.J. Renee, weaves you into this tale of fantasy with witches, magic, and supernatural abilities. I lost myself in the world of these two characters as they learn their place in this world and with each other. The details that Renee spins into this story line are amazing! I feel like I am getting to watch this unfold in front of my eyes! What a great book!

I loved everything about this book!

Athena is a successful woman motivated by the pain of her past. Can she overcome that or will she let it get in her way of the super hot pool player that comes in to her pool hall?

She is surrounded by money and lifelong friends that are better than family.

I loved Athena’s personality. I loved Tru and his Ma. I loved the dialog with Indigo and Gwyn towards Athena’s decisions (or lack of).

This was a quick read. I couldn’t put it down. There was steam. There was emotion.

Repair (Rescue Me Book 1) by Trish Williford – Review by Melody (Karen) Marsh

RepairRepair by Trish Williford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Repair by Trish Williford is a great romance novel that has all dreamy aspects of romance! While I read a lot of romance novels, I haven’t come across one with the “fixer” ideal. I have to be honest, this wasn’t 100% my bread and butter. I normally read very fast paced romance books, and while this book doesn’t quite fit into that category, falling in love with the characters slowly was a very nice experience.

The book follows the normal “I’m your big bro’s best bud, therefore I can’t have you” storyline you day-dream about, but Trish Williford doesn’t stop at just romance in this book. She tackles all the feelings of self-doubt and issues that men go through with Tank. She gives us the dark sides of the characters so we can fall in love with the people and not just their story. This was such a well written book!

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the first book I’ve read by AJ Renee. It is Book 4 in the Broderick Coven series. The first thing I appreciated about this book was that even though it was a part of the series, I was able to jump right in and understand everything. AJ Renee gave plenty of background and character development throughout the book where I was not lost, even though I hadn’t read any previous books.

This story is about Carter Broderick, a doctor with magical healing powers, who is blindsided by an instant connection to Vanessa Rayne. Vanessa was equally stricken with Carter. Their connection is strong and unexplainable and passionate. It was so enthralling following them getting to know one another on every level. The scenes of passion were well written. Along the way Vanessa gets herself into trouble with her curiosity and Carter is determined to keep her safe. This book is Adventurous, Romantic, and easy to read in one sitting. I am definitely going to check out the rest of the series and get to know the Brodericks more!
