Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven Series Book 4) by AJ Renee – Review by Kerry Baker

Cursed Touch (Broderick Coven, #4)Cursed Touch by A.J. Renee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cursed Touch by AJ Renee is the fourth book in the Broderick Coven series. This author has yet again put forward a fantastic book that I just had to read in one sitting. I have read a few books by this author now but I think this one has to be my favourite so far. I just loved the characters in this book and the connection between them. I found them to be really engaging and it was no effort to become invested in them.
I thought the story line was great and done so well. As I have come to expect this author just seems to effortlessly produced well developed and exciting books. I thought this book was a great addition to the series and I can’t wait for more.

Fury of Conviction (Dragonfury Short Story Collection, #2)Fury of Conviction by Coreene Callahan
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fury of Conviction by Coreene Callahan is the is the second book in the “Villains” of the Dragonfury series. This is quieter a short story but is full of action and excitement. The author has certainly figured out how to fit a lot into a small book. This book can be read in its own without losing any enjoyment.
This is a new author to me and I really enjoyed how she conveyed everything in her writing. Although I finished the book quicker than I expected I did not feel like I had missed one in anything. It is a very fast paced book so it felt like I was taken on a whirlwind journey. I enjoyed the writing style and thought the characters were great to read about.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be going back to read book 1.

Bared. (A Green St. Girls Romance) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

How could I not fall in love with this book? The author had a talent I will say upfront on how to grasp the reader as well as make them feel EXACTLY what the characters are feeling. I felt so emotionally involved and I truly felt I was right there with the characters in the book.

This book was focused on a group of girls whom were friends, who needed one another as much as they strived to live. They called themselves The Green Street Girls. Instantly, I felt so connected to each of them, they all went at a time before anyone should have to endure, to survive on their own. They were one another’s hope and reason to stay strong as well as go on with every day. What they had been through, was really powerful in sense of how it made me feel. You felt those moments You felt those emotions. And you defiantly felt those hardships.

The girls Athena, Charlie, Gwyn & Indigo were all different but still very remarkable characters. Hardships had shaped their form to whom they are today. Especially Athena I would say. You can say she was in resemblance with a mule with terms when it came to her beliefs to love. She truly felt it was something not meant for her and it was just a load of crud basically. Truly my past self defiantly related to her.

This was everything she stood by with good reason, till Tru comes into her life. And everything she ever believed came into question. Plus she found someone that truly challenged her mind and her heart. It was indeed not all sugar canes and lollipops for when they first met and interacted. Athena knew though this was a different feeling, one even though how hard she tried she would not be able to let go or escape, no matter how hard she tried. They endure a lot together, Athena and Tru, I felt everything really. It was impossible not to feel their emptions or their pain or their stubbornness basically. I kept wanting more and I could not put this book down. It was good like eating a fresh chocolate strawberry. You could not stop at just one bite or in this case, one page turn.

I loved this book for everything it is. And I truly am already dying for the next books in the series. I really want to see what happens to the other girls and what life throws at them or tests them with. The novel was truly enjoyable and I loved being able to feel all the emotions this book brought on!

Highly recommend. Its really good and it certainly delivers an amazing story. It was my first read by this author, now I must go obtain all their other books 🙂

Again, truly had a great time reading this novel 🙂

Bared. (A Green St. Girls Romance) by N.D. Jackson – Review by Amanda Lundin

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Oh my goodness, what an emotional rollercoaster this book is! I cried, laughed, had a few heart to hearts with myself, and smiled-a lot. Oddly enough, it also had me looking up a recipe for duck lasagna.

I love a good heart wretcher and this book delivered. The story was woven so well that I was grieving and celebrating right there with the Green St. Girls and Tru. The storyline was fluid and enjoyable.

The characters- Athena is such a strong stubborn entrepreneur constantly struggling to prove and better herself-definitely relatable, and Tru is a genuine gem once he gets his head on straight. Oh gosh, lets not forget an honorable mention of Tru’s ma- I love sassy bold women!

Overall a multifaceted, relatable, and enjoyable story that I would recommend.

Bared. (Green St. Girls #1)Bared. by N.D. Jackson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is A Green St Girls Romance. I really enjoyed this book. The author does a great job of dealing with tragic events such as death and guilt in a considerate way. The story is deep and sad in parts but the romance is hot and steamy.

Athena has had a tough time. She has lost one of her friends to cancer and she was abandoned by her parents. Blamed for the death of her ex boyfriend. Athena just wants to live her life. She is guarded from everyone and never let’s anyone in. That is until she meets Tru.

Tru is a professional pool player who is playing in the tournament held at Athena’s pool hall. The attraction between them is instant and electric. Tru is only going to be there for the tournament so he wasn’t looking for anything long term. However, Athena rocks his world. He wants to know everything about her, including what happened to make her build her walls so high.

Will Athena be able to protect her heart against Tru? Can Tru break down her walls to enter her heart? And what happens if they fall for each other? What happens when a quick fling turns into a passionate romance?

Avenging Devil Part 2: Satan's Devils MC San DiegoAvenging Devil Part 2: Satan’s Devils MC San Diego by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a perfect conclusion to this book. We definitely see changes in a lot of these characters. They all have quite a lot of ups and downs until they settle. One of my fav things about this book is all of the members of the Devils we get to see. The Utah boys are heavily involved in the recovery process and we get to see more of Swift and all the confidence that Road has in her.

I am not sure what the author has in store for Cyn in the future but she was one of my most disliked characters that she has written in a while. From the first step into the book I just didnt care for her and there has been no change in that front.

Overall its hard to review but give no secrets away. This is a good story. I was shocked and surprised more than once in here. Its a suspenseful drama with characters I have grown to love.

Bared. (A Green St. Girls Romance) by N.D. Jackson

4 out of 5 stars

Our past does not dictate who we are or who we become. This is what Athena, Indigo, and Gwyn are trying to prove everyday by working hard and being successful. Athena has built a life of success but is she really living? Athena, Indigo and Gwyn lost their fourth sister, Charlie, a year ago. No one has been the same, but Athena is the worst. Athena had already lost so much, her family, her town, her safe place. Charlie’s death was just one more person leaving her.

Tru Blake is a professional pool player. He arrived at his latest tournament with a goal, take home the prize. Tru didn’t know the prize was going to be the bar’s owner, Athena. Tru is finding that getting Athena to be open to more than just a fling is more difficult than making it as a pro. Will he be the one that can get her to open up?

N.D. Jackson created a world of Alpha billionaire women in a genre dominated by alpha males. I can’t get enough of Athena, Gwyn and Indigo!!! The women are smart, funny, successful, powerful, and deliciously delightful! The sisterhood they have formed is amazing. I am hooked! I laughed, I yelled, I cried, I cheered! I can’t wait for more from these three!

There are discussions around suicide during the story that might not be suitable for all audiences.

Defined (The Cadence Duet Book Two) AUDIO BOOK by Dakota Willink – Review by Shelly Kittell

Cadence Defined Audiobook By Dakota Willink cover artCadence and Fitz were summer loves. Unfortunately he had other plans that didn’t inclue Cadence. He left her with a beautiful baby girl that he knows nothing about. With the help of her parents, Cadence has worked hard to raise her as a single mother and is now runner her own agency. Fitz is running a PR agency in DC and his father is still trying to run his life. Fitz is still pining for Cadence and has been for 17 years. He did marry in an arranged marriage. The only thing good to come out of it wa shis son Austin. You can only imagine the panic when Callie’s date to prom is Austin. Oh the drama kicks in. Cadence picks up on the resemblance then runs into Fitz and here comes trouble. His father’s threating him to run for the Senate to he get what he wants. What kind of person threatens a grandchild? I love the drama and conflict. I felt like I was listening toa poor version of Dynasty. Cadence is a very strong woman and her spirit is strong and fierce. I do wish it had been an ensemble read as some of the narration was a little lackluster. I would still highly recommend.

FURY OF CONVICTION (The Dragonfury Series Book 2) by Coreene Callahan – Review by Heather Simmons

Fury of Conviction (Dragonfury Short Story Collection, #2)Fury of Conviction by Coreene Callahan
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

When first reading this book, I was thinking that it was just another dragon shifter book. But the author did a really nice job transporting the reader to Lake Chelan. I live in the Pacific Northwest and she did a decent job describing the surroundings and definitely made the reader “feel” at peace with those surroundings. I just really wish the characters had the same description and depth. The reader is transported to a serene environment and then quickly thrust into a predicament that the main character, Sveld struggles with but ultimately had a hand in creating. We find out quickly about his attraction to and attentiveness to Natalie, but again, not much backstory into who she is other than a person who ended up in a really bad situation. The story is novella-sized and a fun quick read. There are moments of action, then peace, and moments of steamy romance. A good combo for a quick read.

I am curious about what happens next. I think I would be more drawn to “what happens next” if the characters’ stories and relationships were drawn out more and given more attention. I thought the premise of the story was a great idea. I found the book to be missing the depth of character. I do, however, think there is a lot of opportunity for potential growth to develop the characters more.

Thank you Ms Callahan, I enjoyed the quick read.

FURY OF CONVICTION (The Dragonfury Series Book 2) by Coreene Callahan – Review by Shelly Kittell

Fury of Conviction (Dragonfury Short Story Collection, #2)Fury of Conviction by Coreene Callahan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The conflict in the book keeps you on the edge of your seat. Hamersveld is 1/2 human and 1/2 dragon. He is torn at the ritualistic experiments used to make babies for their species using human women. He is attracted to one woman, Natalie, who he feels he must rescue and help. Natalie is pretty strong and independent. The conflict for power is strong. Sveld, as he is known, is screwed because of his attraction to her. The chemistry is there and a surprise is waiting. This book is so full of power. Natalie’s willpower to survive is strong and thriving even though she doesn’t quite know where she is or when she was taken. Ivar is the bad guy and Sveld is just trying to protect Natalie, which is when we see his inner battle between bad and good. He’s just trying to protect those he cares about. Ivar is his friend but Natalie is the woman he cares about. It’s the classic love story.

This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up. Her writing skills and attention to details give the story a realistic feel and pulls you in right from the beginning. This book is no different. I enjoyed being pulled in from the beginning and I had a hard time putting this book down. This is a story about four women who all have the same thing in common, they were left on their own at a young age. Athena doesn’t think she is capable of love until Tru walks into her life. What fate has in store for them only time will tell but I highly recommend reading this book to find out. They are great characters with great chemistry. I enjoyed watching the growth between them. They truly made the story for me. I can’t wait to see what is next for these women in the next book. This is worth the pick up.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fourth book in this series which is just as great as the previous three books. If you haven’t picked them up yet, I highly suggest you do. This is an author I have enjoyed from the first book I picked up of hers. They are fast paced, engaging and have characters that are connectable. This book is no different. This is a paranormal romance story that I had a hard time putting down. I was pulled into the story from the beginning by the characters and what they brought to the story. They not only bring the story to life on each page but they made it fun to read as well. This is a story about Carter who has a profession in medical cause that is what he is good at, healing people. He had no idea how his life would change the day she walked into the ER he was working. Vanessa is a curious person and when the supernatural world realizes just how curious she is, things could change for her. Will Carter be able to protect her or does fate have something else in mind. I really enjoyed this book. I highly recommend this book and this author.

At first, I wasn’t a huge fan of Jody. I thought she was kind of needy and I didn’t really understand her as a character. But as I read, I grew to like her odd quirks and I learned why she had certain feelings about herself – she grew on me as I got to see her through Adam’s eyes. I really appreciated having his point of view as well because it added to character development throughout. It was an easy read and had a sweet ending.

I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is a shorter story that is full of action and just a great story. This is a well written story that the author used attention to details that gave the story a realistic feel. The characters brought the story to life on each page with the action and skills. They are connectable and truly made the story for me. I found this book to be a faster paced story that packs a punch. It is a story full of kidnapping and characters who are playing a game of life or death. Natalie is a great strong character and she is determined to find a way to escape her captor who makes no mistakes. I am glad I picked up this book and look forward to going back to read book one. I highly recommend this book.

If you haven’t already read part one I highly recommend reading it first as this one picks up right where the first one left us. Manda Mellett out did herself yet again as this book left me almost breathless but in a good way. There’s some intense moments I found myself holding my breath while on the edge of my seat. This author is one of my favorites and I am never disappointed with any of her books. I highly recommend reading this book to find out how it all plays out for Saffie and Niran. The chemistry between them and the passion they had for one another jumped off the pages. Natalie was tough and she didn’t back down and Hamersveld was the enemy but started to care for her and she didn’t know how to handle it. This is a very steamy and fun read, I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys a good dragon shifter Romance, very enemies to lovers! I absolutely loved that the book wasn’t just sad and filled with drama, the humor in the book definitely gave it an extra layer.

Finding It All (Finding Happiness In Harmony Book 1) by Stacey Komosinski – Review by Angela Hayes

Finding It All (Finding Happiness In Harmony Book 1)Finding It All by Stacey Komosinski
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Finding It All is the first book in the Finding Happiness In Harmony series and debut novel for Stacey Komosinski. It is a contemporary romancey with a ‘slow burn’, in a small town setting, with friendship/s, finding love unexpectedly, and a ‘sweet’ feel.
I am such a book junkie that I get a bit of a thrill when I discover a new author (i.e.- new reading material), so I happily one-clicked a copy to explore. I love a great romance, and the synopsis for this had all the ingredients that I love- so I couldn’t wait to meet Chloe and Chris and follow their story.
The story was a little slow to get going and did lag at points through the book. I ‘liked’ it- but it didn’t ‘hook’ me the way I had really hoped for. As this is the first book in the series, and the author’s debut novel, I would be interested in reading the rest of the series to see where we go from here, and to see how Ms. Komosinski’s style develops along the way.

Thank you, Stacey Komosinski.

An Enduring Love by Wareeze Woodson – Review by Lorrene Huisman

An Enduring LoveAn Enduring Love by Wareeze Woodson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I found this book to be another beautiful work of this amazing author I have come to adore so very much. The story alone was captivating and kept me interested in the sense I wanted to know what would happen next for the characters. I will admit freely, there was some down falls to the one character Rhys for me, but that alone is a personal opinion and does not reflect on my love and enjoyment for this book!

The story follows the love story of Rhys and Rebecca. A married couple. But to me they seemed at times on different levels of one another. Rebecca seemed to me anyway very supportive of her love and anything he was to under go. Rhys on the other hand (again personal opinion) was someone who needed more compassion for his wife and let alone make her feel more than just an object in the room. He at the beginning of the book before events happened and a departure for family events happened…he could have easily been more of a caring husband, and perhaps a more genuine human being,

Life happens and Rhys is called away on duty to see his father. Of course, as I knew right away, Rebecca, would easily agree to his dutiful need to go. From then on though, a lot of things happen and not in a good way. They are separated. In Rebecca’s mind I truly believe she never expected things to go the way they did! But, this made her a more determined character and someone quite strong willed. Truly a character you want to root for and see them succeed. Chaos and and war truly go hand in hand. And the years count on and Rhys has come to a conclusion that Rebecca is no longer with him. While Rebecca is unknown to these assumptions

Over the time Rebecca is working her hardest to get to her husband. She loved him truly and she truly was defining all odds, and she had the heart full of wants and love for Rhys. No matter my personal opinion, he held her heart dear. As I read, I truly felt all the pain and the emotions she felt. Everything she was going through, would it all be for naught? Their future was truly unknown? But, she truly believed he would be waiting there for her with open arms.

At long last, Rebecca has found her love Rhys….but sadly the timing she does I felt was the most heartbreaking moment of her entire life. He was announcing his marriage to be with another woman he had fallen in love with over the course of believing she had been dead. I felt her pain and shock. I felt so much for Rebecca. She had gone thorough so much an to come back to this? I can not even imagine what was going through her heart, it was as if she was holding a vase, in slow motion it began to fall at the news and truly felt like all the love and hope she held dear was shattering between her finger tips.

But as I read on…its a true fact you endure for what and who you love. You put your best forward to overcome any obstacles because in the end, love is and always be worth it. In truth even though it was not a instant moment of realization, Rhys comes to see this. He fell in love with another woman yes and was preparing a marriage to her. But in all that one person, you love with all your heart, that makes you feel whole, and gives you the reason to get up every day, to strive to be the best you can be, for him…it most certainly was Rebecca.

Love truly can define all odds you just have to test the grounds of what you are willing to do to achieve it. And never give up, not even for a second.

Wareeze Woodson is an amazing dedicated author to work. Every book she writes, I entail a adventure of emotion and heart felt feelings. And one thing is for certain I always have hope for the main characters I am reading about. Her writing is classic, the detail and scenery is perfect and spot on and she knows how to swoop her reader in and hold onto them as they turn the pages yearning for more and what is to come.

Well done and amazing book. Highly recommend!

Out of Time (Westbeach Series Book 4) by Toni Denise – Review by Kerry Carr

Out of Time: Westbeach Series 4Out of Time: Westbeach Series 4 by Toni Denise
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I really enjoyed this  book. It is the 4th book in the Westbeach Series. I haven’t read any of the books previously but I had no trouble getting sucked into this book and the lives of the characters. I love that this book is a mixture of romance and danger which keeps the story alive and gripping.

Jessica has taken some time away from the family resort and has decided to open her own B&B. She has a lot of work to do but it is the ideal place for her. Jessica is a very strong independent lady who keeps her heart save behind a barrier.

Will is uncle two 2 children. While his sister is in rehab he has looked after the children until her return which has taken longer than anticipated. There is an attraction between Will and Jessica but with everything that’s happening for them both is it really the right time to look into a relationship?

After Will gets ransom letter demanding money Will knows he needs to take the threat seriously. When his sisters house gets burned down he know he has to keep the children safe so he moves them into Jessica’s B&B.
What trouble has he brought to Jessica’s door? Why is someone trying to get money out of Will? Can he protect Jessica from the danger that could now be aimed at her? And can either Jessica or Will survive the pain of opening their hearts up to each other.
