Sex on Fire: A Quickie Read (Naughty Neighbor Book 1)Sex on Fire: A Quickie Read by Ashley Bostock
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nerdy next-door neighbor Poppy has the HOTS for her single and very sexy neighbor Tuner. Poppy is very content with keeping the battery company in business and keeping her sexual desire for Tuner strictly mental. Turner is the hottest neighbor any single woman could ask for and many of the women flocked to Turner batting their eyelids in the hope to roll in the sheets with him. Turner seems to pay no mind and has eyes for only one neighbor but could she step outside her comfort bubble to find out??

Wow, talk about HOT!! If you are looking for a quick steamy read, this little number is a great choice!! I could not put this down from start to finish. Quick, steamy, and definitely got the mind wondering 😉

I really enjoy these Regency romances.  The author does an amazing job of setting the scene and the details of how people act and their behaviour really makes you feel you are part of that era. This is a story about two people who don’t know each other finding themselves in circumstances which eventually grow into love.

Lady Isabel Carlyle needs to escape her half brother and his cousin. She plans to leave them all behind but first she wants to get back at him by returning the bonds he stole from his employer. However, her plans change when she is caught by the Viscount himself. Now she is face with a choice. Either she marries him or she goes to jail.

Viscount Matthew Rutherford needs a wife. After being betrothed twice and his intended dying in suspicious accidents he doesn’t think it will ever happen. However when he sees Lady Isabel in his study, he comes up with a situation to suit them both. She can either be sent to jail for theft or she could marry him.

When she accepts they now need to learn to live together and get to know one another from scratch. There is always the lingering doubt of is this a marriage of convenience or can love possible bloom. Also what happened to Matthew’s other brides to be and will the same thing happen to Isabel. Matthew vows to protect her from harm but will that be from someone they know or a unknown source.

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Katie Matthews

Unlikely in Love (A Parker Lake Novel Book 1)Unlikely in Love by Olivia Sherwood

This book was a wonderful story! I loved the characters, I loved the plot, and I loved everything about it! This author knows how to write stories that you can’t help but be captivated by. Her characters are always likeable and it didn’t take me long to fall head over heels in love with them all – both the main and the secondary characters! I am so excited about what is to come in this series!
I loved Annabelle or Annie as she is known to her friends. She was such a genuinely nice character. Always thinking about others and she has a fantastic friendship with her friends. She is well respected in the community and this really comes across with how the other characters talk about her. She provided many humours moments in the story especially when reminiscing about her Grandmother, Sophie. I got a really good feeling about the relationship that they had with each other and reminded me of the fun relationship I had with my own Grandmother.
Wyatt was so yummy! I fell in love with him instantly! I really felt for him when he opened up to Annie about his past and what happened during his time serving his country. He had a great connection with his family especially his niece, Hattie Ann – who was just the cutest character ever! I loved the banter between him and Annie – he was pretty taken with her from the beginning!
The secondary characters in the story were great and I really hope they will get their own stories in the future.

This was a very quick, sexy read and I absolutely loved it – my only issue – I wanted more!! I loved the characters, Poppy and Turner. I liked that it’s not always the most beautiful girl who gets the guy- not that Poppy wasn’t beautiful! Poppy was lovely and sweet and Turner – well he was the sexy neighbour – I wouldn’t complain if he was my next-door neighbour! There were a few moments that made me chuckle and I did feel sorry for Poppy at times, she was so unsure of herself.
For a short read, I really enjoyed it and would definitely recommend!

Captured by the Viscount by Wareeze Woodson – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Personally I love stories or novels set in the time frame where this beautiful novel takes place. Instantly I was drawn onto it, and let me say I loved the ambitions and personality of Isabel right from the start. She reminded me of myself, someone that more is a fighter for the greater good, doesn’t care what she has to do to achieve it, she will make it happen. Perhaps not weighing in the costs to get there?

I loved the story and not only how it progressed, but also the other characters, they all seemed more realistic in a sense that one may actually expect. I was time transported to where these events of the novel took place.

Isabel wanted what was right. She went for it, but didn’t succeed in her mission. Or did she? I got to say the sparks were literally jumping off the page when Isabel and Matthew first met, maybe the gun point was an add to the chemistry that Matthew held in his hand…though they seemed like two very different people but had a same ambition in a way at heart..in truth they needed one another more than they realized or that they dare would be willing to admit!

As I read on, I had shock, sadness, excitement, intrigue, and so forth! There was more to this novel than meets the eye, It wasn’t just a story of marriage to satisfy the characters wants …it had so much more than that. Not everything that happened between all the characters, was peaches and cream. there was a lot of hardship and suspense. Honestly the events that unfolded at a lot of times, left me in total disbelief. I said to myself, often actually, that I did not see that suprise coming.

This was a easy read, it was fun, full of twists and turns, and more! I loved it. I do love books in this era, but this quickly became a personal favorite. The author is superiorly talented, knew how to captivate the readers, and deliver a story, that where you think you know the drill on how it will progress, but in truth, you are quite wrong

Again, loved it. And to add an ending note, I loved how I got to see the characters grow of Matthew and Isabel, not just what they had between them but themselves. From the beginning to the end of the book, they did not end as whom they started as.

Truly, a very entertaining read. And it has everything I would think you would want in a novel and more. Pick this one up and read it. It will not disappoint, but make you long to see what the next plot twist is, and see how everything turns out 🙂

Bravo to this wonderful author. This was my first by this author, now I must go find more they have written, because I have had this book entwine my body and soul, and I cant just stop here, I need more. Its a longing that I must fill!

Thank you Wareeze Woodson for writing this wonderful read 🙂

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

It’s the 10 year reunion for Katie and Clay. Crushes are revealed and a wonderful night is spent getting reacquainted. Sparks fly and chemistry sparks, these two have something there. Steamy romantic moments abound by the river, at the lake and throughout the story. I love the friendship they have. I found myself laughing at some of the escapades. Katie’s friends always seemed to drop in at the wrong time. Best ending I loved. The best part of the book is that it felt like it could have been from anyone’s life. Annoying friends, long distance relationships, hard choices, these are ell things we often have to deal with. The author just infused them with some humor to make it a great story.

Holy Cow I loved listening to this book, the narrator did an outstanding job with bringing the characters to life. I could listen to him all day long. This author is one of my favorites and I never hesitate to pick up any books by her. This one kept me on the edge of my seat and at times I wanted the narrator to talk faster. Listening to this book took it to a whole new level for me. If you like books that are packed with suspense, mobs, gangs, drama and some Romance then I highly recommend reading/listening to this book. I can’t wait to listen to more of her books.

Captured by the Viscount by Wareeze Woodson is an historical romance with a twist. I not really a historical romance type of girl but I did really enjoy this book. I think because it was not quite the normal romance. There is nothing like a little bit of cloak and dagger going on and being caught in the act to bring them together in an unusual proposal. I loved the ongoing banter and constant back and forth between Isabel and Matthew. This engaging little tale is a delight.

Lost Bastard (Dark Sparrow Novel Book 1) AUDIO BOOK by India Kells – Review by Anastasia Dodson

India Kells does it again with this great audio. The story pulled me in and didn’t let me go until the very end. The Narrator was a good choice for this book, I don’t listen to male narrators very often but Antonio Turner did a great job. He has a nice voice and i lost myself in the story and his voice. The drama, suspense and romance kept me coming back and the characters made stay. I will listen to more by this author in the future and i wouldn’t mind listening to this narrator again too.
Happy Listening!

Georgia Clay (Southern Promises Book 1) by K.G. Fletcher is a romance book.

Georgia Clay is well-known in Nashville. He’s the dashing, award-winning songwriter who rubs shoulders with country music’s elite. Clay, a great performer in his own right, has always been hesitant to take the stage on his own for fear of exposing his crippling childhood secret. Katie Parker is a workaholic Southern beauty who prioritizes her profession over her personal life. Her perseverance and gumption in ascending the corporate ladder are as impressive as her understanding of the cutthroat insurance industry she has expertly navigated over the years. In the heat of Atlanta July, the musician and business lady meet each other at their ten-year high school reunion and end up in the back of his pickup truck, chatting till dawn. Can Clay acknowledge to Katie that she had his heart a long time ago as they continue their passionate long-distance relationship? Will Georgia Clay’s ambition and support ultimately convince him to take a gamble on his career and love?

I loved this story and the concept of it as well.I loved every page of it. Every chapter was exciting. This is the first book in the series and I can’t wait to read more.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Another great read by Manda Mellett that deals with some issues that teens face today. I like that she tackles the issues bringing awareness to them. I was not crazy about the female lead in this story. I realize she acted like a lot of people probably would act, but I just didn’t relate to her. The romantic relationship wasn’t my favorite as much as the parental relationship that develops – don’t want to give too much away. One of Manda’s talents is her development of relationships in the story, and she doesn’t disappoint in this one.

I get so lost in Manda Mellet’s story telling that I read her books in one sitting. The characters are amazing and deal with real life situations. This is Grumbler’s story. Grumbler decided to pimp out his bike to a photographer that takes pics for book covers. When he doesn’t get paid what he is owed he starts to dig into the photographer. What he finds opens a whole can of worms, I was not expecting.
Mary let her daughter model, but only if Mary goes with her. There she meets Grumbler, a gruff man whom she was quite attracted to. But would their paths even cross again?
Being in my late 40’s I rooted so hard for Mary and Grumbler. We may be older, but we aren’t dead!
Be aware there are trigger warnings, rape and of sexual nature. Very gritty story that I absolutely loved.

This is my favorite Manda Mellett book so far, but I have a feeling she will keep surprising me. Everything, the characters, the plot, and the action sequences seemed so real. Lost, man, I loved Lost. I have dealt with that voice in my head and could totally relate. It will be a while before I forget his character’s story. I loved the way the MC was kind of dragged into the situation instead of being in it to begin with. I also loved that the hero/heroine are older. I enjoyed the fresh perspective and being reminded that growing old isn’t the end of new relationships or new experiences.

I need me a Tom. 😉 Relatable characters, chemistry, passion, and wicked sense of humour- what is not to like! I really enjoyed reading this novel. Trying to refrain from making past mistakes the Chelsea decides to purposely date “douche bags” and ignoring numerous red flags and then enduring heartache. While Tom suffers from the white knit syndrome. What a pair! It was quite ironic that these individuals were oblivious that their attraction to each other was mutual. Bless the heavens for best friends and bets. I appreciated that Belinda saw fit to allow Tom and Chelsea to individually work out their issues rather than dragging their baggage into their relationship. I am now highly anticipating Book 2 (Spoilsport).

I enjoyed reading this engrossing novel. Mystery, suspense, intrigue are all components of this page-turner. I loved the continued plot twists that are constant throughout the novel. It is not messy or confusing or overwhelming (you know those annoying use of fillers, ugh)- but a smooth transition to every reveal. The characters are easy to love and are relatable (there is a slap somewhere in the mix for Pamela). I refused to go to bed without finishing this novel (thank God for coffee); I appreciated the creativity and complexity in Wareeze’s storytelling. I wholeheartedly recommend this book.

Avenging Devil part 1 is the third installment to the San Diego and as the title reveals there is a part 2. Part 1 was so good that I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and went a little crazy anticipating part 2 due to the way that Ms. Mellett leaves part 1. As much as I love her other novels this story is so descriptive, her characters so amazing that I find myself craving more. She weaves layers upon layers of tension, drama, complexity, and romance, making sure to put her readers and characters through a dramatic roller coaster ride. Ms. Mellett gives us so much that she will have you flipping the pages until the very end.

Shy musician meets corporate career woman and sparks fly- a compelling read. I admired the insight into each character. While it is great to have self-confidence, I appreciated the hurdles that Clay had to overcome to go on tour. Let us be honest that everyone loves a success story, and this is no different. Both characters are relatable. Katie struggles with supporting Clay on a new venture vs putting her career first. That is relatable as it is easy to stay within our comfort zones instead of stepping out in faith. Clay battles his insecurities that stem from childhood, again all relatable as we all have insecurities. This story is not far-fetched- it is not something that is mind blogging or incomprehensible I liked that. I loved that K.G presented another facet to musicians. Clay and Katie’s relationship is real, raw, and organic and for that I am appreciative.

HOWLY COW this is the best book I have read in the Satan’s Devil MC. Avenging Devil is part 1 Niran and Saffie story and it ends in a big cliff hanger. The characters are written amazingly. They are strong minded and they way these characters play off each other are great and their quirks make them feel real.

Saffie has been hurt by an MC before so when she finds out Niran is part of an MC she kicks him out and is scared that he knows her ex so she wants nothing to do with him.

Niran was discharged from the army because he lost part of his leg he was floundering until he met the Satan Devils. So, for Niran to be apart of her life he either must leave the Devil’s or show Saffie that the Satan’s Devils are totally different then the one who hurt her.

Will Saffie’s Ex find her? Will Saffie realize the Satan Devils are different from the other MC before its to late? Can Niran keep Saffie safe? Can they work against the odds to be together or are they doomed?

You need to read this great book….

Grumbler’s Ride is the second chapter in the Satan’s Devils MC San Diego series, personally I enjoyed this second chapter even more then I enjoyed the first. I love that Ms. Mellett is writing more mature characters. The fact that she writes more mature characters gives the story a different take then if her characters where in their mid thirties. While this series has some scenes that could trigger some people it is still well worth the read. Ms. Mellett is slowly becoming one of my favorite authors she always seems to tackle sensitive subjects and handles them with immense care. The care she provides in her writing makes her books flow well and her series come together beautifully.
