Here’s a bit about Toya and what she’s up to in her crazy author world right now. She writes mainly paranormal and contemporary romances. She’s married with one grown up son who works on cruise ships and has a cat called Masai. She lives near Ipswich in Suffolk, originally from Essex.

At present, she is writing two series. A Paranormal Romance Series, which she is self-publishing. Book three, Sweet Salvation, The Protectors Series will be released 10th April. She is also four book in to a Beach Reads series, which is with a publisher.

She’s also working on a new paranormal romance series called Hybrid Lovers and is partway through Captivated, which is book one. This one is a ménage between two Hybrid angel/vampires and their human fated mate. No release date as yet. A contemporary romance/comedy Christmas Novella is also planned for this year.

Writing has been her passion since a very early age when her mum encouraged her to use her imagination. Sadly, it wasn’t until the death of her mum, who was also her best friend, in 2009 that she started to take it seriously. Her mother’s wish was to see her published, which didn’t occur until 2014. And now, each book she publishes is dedicated to her.

When not writing, or reading, her main hobbies are; cinema, theatre, live bands, gardening, keeping fit, travelling, Formula One racing, darts and spending time with friends.

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Katie Kearney

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, #2)Falling for the Texan by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 2) by Nicole Flockton. Once again I fall head over heels for the characters this author has given us. The chemistry is off the charts and you can easily connect with each one. Tyler and Gianna both pulled me so into their story I got lost for a few hours with them happily. Each character brings something unique to the storyline and keeps readers hooked from start to finish. It’s a sweet story that I enjoyed getting lost in. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. I love the characters and story world this author creates and I can’t wait to read more. Five stars all the way and highly recommended!

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

House of Illusions: A Dark Fantasy Romance by Pippa J Frost is an exciting story that knows how to keep you turning the pages. I found this book to be a really easy book to get in to. The story was well written and engaging I had no trouble at all with sinking in to it.
I enjoyed reading about the characters. They were written in such a way that they complimented each other so well. Even though it is a fantasy story I could imagine them and felt like I was sharing in their journey. They really added to the story and took the book to a new depth. I really enjoyed reading this book and I am exciting to discover more of this authors work.

Road Tripped (Satan's Devils MC Utah #1)Road Tripped by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I loved this book! This author continues to write with heart and steamy bikers. I have read many books by this author, this one ranks right up with my favorites. This is the first book in the Satin’s Devils Utah series and I cannot wait for more. The author’s attention to details made me feel part of the story, as if I was right there with them. I loved being pulled in right from the first page and kept engaged to the end. This is about a fellow biker that Drummer sends to Utah to check out their chapter. What happens on the road is not what is expected. No spoilers here so I highly recommend reading this book. I loved the characters in this book, steamy hot bikers, what’s not to love. They made the story pop and easy to read. Pick up this book today and find out what happens on this road trip.

Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense by KG Fletcher – Review by Francis O’Sullivan

Love Song (A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense)Love Song by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

KG Fletcher’s Love Song is, as the title suggests, a romantic novel where the main characters are musicians. The development of Sam and Casey’s relationship is interspersed with their experiences performing and touring together. I particularly like Fletcher’s vivid descriptions of the places they go to, and (of course) the food they eat when they’re there!
The tension in this story comes from the ghosts of the past that haunt the couple. Sam is still getting over a difficult break-up and is afraid of making himself vulnerable to more heartbreak. And Casey’s sister and niece are worried about an abusive ex who they’ve worked hard to escape from. The story is at times quite dark, but this is balanced with humour and warm characters.
Casey’s niece, GG, is definitely my favourite character! The bond she has with Casey is so special and their happy moments together bring light and fun to the story.
For me, this book gets four stars. I would recommend it to fans of romance and music, who want a book that will have you on the edge of your seat (and maybe reaching for the tissues.).

Finders Reapers (New Orleans Nocturnes, #4)Finders Reapers by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the fourth book in this series which I highly suggest reading all books in this series to help enhance your enjoyment. This is a shorter book which I enjoyed. I was pulled in right from the beginning. It is fast paced and had me turning pages just as fast. I had no problem connecting to the characters as they brought the story to life. This is a story about Asher and Jasmine. Asher leaves the door to the underworld unattended and now he finds himself in a crisis. Jasmine is a necromancer, she has never not been able to tame a ghost until now. Some lost souls escaped the underworld and now Asher and Jasmine are left to bring them back. She is the last person he wants to work with but fate may have something else in mind for them. Will they be able to gather up the lost souls in time? This was a fun, entertaining story to read and made a great afternoon story. I highly recommend this book.

5 out of 5 stars

I loved reading the book I’ll See You Again: A Scottish rock star, standalone opposites-attract romance (Reigning Hearts Book 4) by K.G. Fletcher. It is a romantic story that had me believing in love at first sight and soul mates. I loved reading about the characters of Nicky Sinclair and Reid Macpherson. Nicky is a successful businesswoman who plans amazing weddings. She is intelligent, strong, and independent. She can’t deny her attraction to Reid from the first time that they meet. Reid is a world-famous singer who loves music and the band that he plays with. He can’t understand his intense feelings for Nicky. They have an intense chemistry and attraction between them. Will they get a HEA? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down the entire time I was reading. I found myself caring a lot about what happens between Nicky and Reid. I wanted them to find happiness. The bantering and interactions between them run from lighthearted to very intense. There are romantic moments that will make the temperature in the room rise. Other additional characters also interact with Nicky and Reid and I loved reading about the part that they play in the book. Don’t miss out on a story that has swoon-worthy moments. I was not able to put it down until the final page. I highly recommend reading it.

What do you do when your hopes and dreams literally come crashing down around you? When one split second and something that wasn’t your fault, stops you from participating in your chosen sport just when you’re nearing the top?

Another rider’s misjudgement, and my trial bike competition days were over.

I was angry; I admit it. I love my MC brothers, but they couldn’t understand. I could still ride a bike, allowing me to stay in the club, but I could no longer compete.

Drummer decided to give me something else to think about, and temporarily gave me some distance from Tucson. It was a simple enough task—make my way, of necessity slowly, to Utah, and check that chapter out.

Sure, the Utah club was friendly enough and never hesitated to support other chapters, but they were secretive. Drummer’s instruction was to discover what went on behind closed doors, and for me to return with the assurance they were following the Satan’s Devils rules and regulations.

The time on the road would give me a chance to clear my head, my welcome assured at my destination as they wore the same patch on their backs. Then I’d return home, hopefully with my mood improved.

Neither Drummer nor I had anticipated the mishaps along the route, nor that there was a possibility I might not make it back alive.

Manda’s life’s always seemed a bit weird, starting with a childhood that even today she’s still trying to make sense of, then losing her parents in the late teens. Going from the tragic to the bizarre, who else could be unlucky enough to have had two car accidents, neither her fault, one involving a nun, and another involving a police woman?

There isn’t enough space to list everything that’s happened to Manda, or what she’s learned from it. But by using the rich fabric of her personal life, psychology degree, varied work experiences, and amazing characters she’s met, Manda is able to populate her books with believable in-depth characters and enjoys pitting them against situations which challenge them. Her books are full of suspense, twists and turns and the unexpected.

Manda lives in the beautiful countryside of Essex in the UK, the area’s claim to fame being the Wilkin’s Jam Factory at nearby Tiptree. She can usually find jars of jam which remind her of home wherever she goes. As well as writing books and reading, Manda loves walking her dogs and keeping fit. She lives with her husband of over 30 years, who, along with her son, is her greatest fan and supporter.

Manda is thankful that one of the more unusual, and at the time unpleasant, turns her life took, now enables her to spend her time writing. Confirming, in her view, every cloud has a silver lining.

Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense by KG Fletcher – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

Love Song (A friends-to-lovers rock and roll romantic suspense)Love Song by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have read a couple books by KG Fletcher and I really enjoy them. Love Song: A friends-to-lovers rock & roll romantic suspense was the latest I read. The book was not at all what I expected it to be, but I loved it just the same. The story tells of Casey and Sam meeting and falling in love, and the journey along the way. The first couple chapters shows us the stereotypical musician, drinking and partying and traveling around for gigs. I was expecting a quick pace rock star love story. But we soon discover neither are true Rock Stars- they both have a day job and responsibilities and like to just break free every once in a while to wind down. I loved both leads, as they are strong and independent but also vulnerable enough to rely on their friends and family when they need it. I would love to hear more about this couple. I don’t want to give away surprises, but there is a huge event that shocked the heck out of me 3/4 of the way through. Read for yourself…you won’t regret it.

Better Than Goodbye (Venture Book 1) by Kinney Scott. This story was just what I needed. Sometimes you need a good romance story that has you falling in love just as much as the characters and that’s exactly what this book gave me. Amanda and Kent from page one completely had me hooked for their journey. The author knows how to write characters you can root for and connect with and that made it easy to get lost in the pages of this story. It’s well written and paced nicely never feeling rushed or lacking anything. This book is a perfect way to spend a few hours lost with great characters on a nice relaxing weekend. Four big stars and highly recommended. Can’t wait to see where this author takes readers next.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Alligators in the Trees by Cynthia Hamilton is a great story about 3 people who all find themselves thrown together as they try to figure out “what next”. This book is an insightful and interesting read. For me this was all about the characters. They all had such differing experiences and yet still all found themselves at the same place, all a little bit lost.
The way the author has written their stories really draws you in. They are so relatable which I think just makes them even better to read about.
Cynthia Hamilton is such a diverse author as well. Every book I have read by her has been different but great. This book is no exception at all. I would love to know whah happens to these characters after the end of the book and the fact that I am still thinking about them now shows just how much they capture your attention. This is a brilliant book and one I would highly recommend.

5 stars!

What a sweet story! This book made me feel so much and I was so heartbroken for Olivia. The way she was treated with her last relationship was just terrible. I had a feeling she would meet a guy that would change her outlook love and then screw her over and that is exactly what happened. Although the book was predictable at times I was still thrown for a loop when all the drama started going down with what happens to Gabe. Overall a sweet and sexy romance and a playboy who turns his life around. It was nice to see Gabe’s whole family rallying around Olivia and falling in love with her as much as Gave was. I love a good epilogue and this one did not disappoint me. I am truly looking forward to reading the story of Ava and her men!!

The authors writing flowed so well it was a real pleasure to read and I just loved the characters, the relationship they had, the interaction between the and there were certainly times where I could absolutely relate to the things that were going on. This is book 1 in the series and whilst all three sisters are in it this is Jamie’s story and her course to her happily ever after and wedding day. I loved the originality of the story and I am definitely looking forward to the other sisters finding the partner of their dreams through the wedding dress of their late grandmother!

I LOVED this story so much! I think I fell in love with the main characters straight away. The authors’ writing was wonderful and I was so engaged with what I was reading as well as connected to the characters, Erica and Matt. The author really got across the emotions going on in the story and I could really feel that as the reader. I could really feel the instant yet genuine attraction that the characters had for each other; I was rooting for them the whole way through. Along with Erica and Matt there were some excellent secondary characters who were just as well thought out as the main ones and it really made a difference to the story in my opinion!
I 100% recommend this wonderful small town romance read, it was a fantastic story and I cannot wait to read more from Ms Mannersly again in the future.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book 1 (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy)Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book 1 by Lucinda Race
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book One is the first book in The Maclellan Sisters Trilogy by Lucinda Race. This is an original, heart-warming story- with romance, sisterhood, family bonds, family heirlooms, and a little bit of enchantment. I really enjoyed this story and am looking forward to reading the other two books in this sweet trilogy.
Here we meet the MacLellan sister- Jamie, Kenzie, and Grace who receive a package after the death of their beloved Gran. Inside the box is her antique wedding dress, the family plaid, a brooch, and a letter. They discover a family legend surrounding the dress- that whoever wears it will be able to see their future. It is their Gran’s wish that they try the dress on. But being fiercely independent and staunchly single- will they respect their grandmother’s desire- or will they shrug it off as silly nonsense?
This is Jamie’s story- she is the oldest sister and is the most sceptical of the three, but intrigue wins out in the end- and so the story takes off.
There was definitely a ‘Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants’ vibe to this story, but with its own unique identity.
The story has quite a fast pace, and did seem a little rushed at times. But overall, it was a lovely story. Looking forward to seeing what happens in Book Two.

Thank you, Lucinda Race!

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Gillian Fawell

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge, #2)Falling for the Texan by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Falling for the Texan was another great book by Nicole Flockton. The previous book, One Hot Texas Summer was the first by her I had read and now I’m definitely a fan! The characters are so well written and the plot keeps you reading well into the night. I’m really hoping there will be a book for Trey, the 3rd Prentice brother and so I can keep reading more about Tyler, Gianna, Tate and Kelly!

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Michelle Austin

Falling for the Texan (Prentice Brothers of Sweet Ridge #2) by Nicole Flockton was a great 5 star read.

I really enjoyed Tyler and Gianna’s story. Of course if you read the 1st book Tyler doesn’t exactly paint a very good picture of himself. As I got to know him better in this read I fell for him.

Tyler is taking on wine making and is starting up his own company. He contacts his friend in New York to help with marketing and PR.
Gianna is a New Yorker with the attitude to go with it. She was great and was a great strong character. She was sent to town to help market Tylers new company, but they don’t exactly start off on the right foot even though you can feel the sparks flying between them.

Gianna has planned on staying 2 weeks, she works with Tyler on ideas and designs for the company. The longer she is in town the more she starts to like it and Tyler. She is also hoping that this campaign will be a success and impress her boss.

Will Gianna accomplish her goal? Will she and Tyler get a HEA?

Overall this was a great read. I enjoyed all of the characters and they added a great element to the story. If you’re looking for a great romance this is the one for you. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing and you won’t want to put it down. It can be read as a stand alone, however reading book one will help you connect with some of the characters. 1-click and get started today.

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy Book 1) by Lucinda Race – Review by Heather Lovelace

Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book 1 (The MacLellan Sisters Trilogy)Old and New: The Enchanted Wedding Dress Book 1 by Lucinda Race
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh this did my romantic sentimental heart so much good. In the midst of so much turmoil in the world at this moment I loved escaping into these pages and reading about these sisters and the treasure from their grandmother. I loved the way Race built each character and relationship. And I adored the way this story unfolded. Book one in a trilogy that I cannot wait to finish – just a beautiful read.

Ok, im in love with this series even more now.
If you haven’t read book 1, go do that first unless you don’t care to read out of order.
In this story, we get to see Tyler, who we met in book 1 with his soon to launch wine business. He’s to be getting an advertising deal but instead Gia shows up.
I really really liked these two. They just clicked and I could feel their emotions come off the page.
I cannot wait to read more, these are great, easy reads but pack alot of heart and emotions.

Book Review: Falling for the Texan
Author: Nicole Flockton
Four Stars
Sweet romance. This is the first book by Nicole Flockton that I have picked up and it will not be the last. A quick read, Ms. Flockton pulls you in and keeps you until the very end. Big city business woman is assigned a job in small town Texas and she is not too happy about it for a few different reasons.
The last several chapters of this book when everything is coming to a quick end are definately my favorite moments. I really enjoyed the characters and the depth to them. Ms. Flockton really got you to understand who they were and what was on their minds.

Alligators in the Trees by Cynthia Hamilton – Review by Angela Hayes

Alligators in the treesAlligators in the trees by Cynthia Hamilton

5 Stars

Alligators in the Trees is such a wonderful story from the ever-talented Cynthia Hamilton. I have read many of Ms. Hamilton’s books now and she never ceases to amaze me by how versatile a writer she is. From mysteries, to romance, powerful non-fiction, and even humorous chick-lit- she masters them all. Ms. Hamilton’s clever and creative stories never fail to cast their spell on me, easily pulling me in and keeping me engrossed from beginning till end.
I really didn’t know what to expect going into this book- the title was intriguing but really didn’t give too much away. Even after reading the blurb, I still wasn’t sure that I would be blown away by the story. Of course, I knew it would be a ‘good’ read- because Ms. Hamilton wrote it, but I still had my reservations. But boy-oh-boy did she show me- I should never have doubted her for even a second. This was brilliant, the story captured me right from the get-go, and I couldn’t believe how easily I became invested in the story and the wonderfully quirky, interesting, and strangely endearing characters.
This is what I would class as a character study story- a character driven plot woven around the lives of three mismatched, struggling characters who all happen to end up at the same grungy diner, for different reasons. Little do they realise that ending up at the grimy dive that is ‘Frank’s Diner’ will impact them far more than they ever imagined.
Prolific poetry writer Priscilla Vanderpool took on a job waitressing at Franks as a way of avoiding challenging herself, taking risks, or expecting too much from her life. Her fears have held her back for such a long time. Waitressing is merely a means-to-an-end for her- as she basically stumbled into the job and stayed because she didn’t have anywhere else to be.
Philip Glessner had a thriving architectural firm and a stellar reputation, until one of his buildings collapsed thus throwing his well-ordered world into chaos- drowning him in a bottomless pit of debt and a mountain of legal woes. It was pure chance that led him to the diner, looking for a place to hide out from pushy reporters. That was months ago, but he returns daily, not for the food- but because he’s developed a crush on Priscilla. So, while his world falls apart, his business fails, and his wife tries to squeeze him dry- Phillip finds some solace in Priscilla’s steady and calm demeanour.
Then we meet Tobias Jordan, the reclusive, aging, world-weary, former Rockstar who’s desperately trying to recapture his mojo and recreate his former success. Hiding out from the paparazzi, he ducks into the diner to find a quiet moment to focus his thought and maybe write some new lyrics. But what he never expected was to find a muse there, in the form of Priscilla, who unknowingly ignites his creativity and inspires new songs.
What Ms. Hamilton has managed to create is a beautifully balanced story- with a focus on character development, but not at the expense of the intriguing story that she engineers so beautifully. This story may seem simple, but it is deceptively complex- with many layers, a high degree of detail, a few surprises to keep things unpredictable, and all so vividly descriptive- including the song lyrics that pepper the story and add extra interest. All the elements are cleverly choreographed into quite an impactful read, which I certainly didn’t wasn’t anticipate- making this all the more memorable.
A true unexpected pleasure, and another glistening gem to add to Ms. Hamilton’s crown.

Thank you, Cynthia Hamilton!
