Tom is actually a really good guy and wants to prove to Chelsea that she’s been choosing the wrong men. So he proposes that they date for one week so she can see how she is supposed to be treated. Unlikely to Fit
Parker Lake Series
Book 2
By Olivia Sherwood
☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆
This is a full length Romantic Comedy. Breckin and Griff both live in Parker Oklahoma. Both have broken hearts, both live completely new lives. Breckin started out divorced, withdrawn and meek, yet great for the town gossip. Griff lost his beloved wife in a motorcycle accident. Which sent him back to Parker. Nobody gets near him though as his Meemaw keeps him hopping. He also runs his grandfather’s bar. Will these two unlikely people get drawn together? Can Meemaw keep them both hopping the hoops?

Olivia Sherwood has written this Funny Romance story. Meemaw is such a hoot. I love her personality. But Breckin and Griff have won my heart. This story caught my interest on page one and kept me turning the pages. I must say the different feels are there as well. I laughed, cried and loved the characters in this story. I am looking forward to reading more from this author. As she has won my heart in this series. WellDone Olivia Sherwood! Well Done! ! !

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Spoilsport by Belinda Williams a fab four-star read. I nearly gave this five-stars, but I just took too long to get to grips with Nadia, she was great, but she irritated me a lot especially in the beginning, I was wondering why Luke fell for her, but then when you really get to know her you get her completely, I don’t know if I liked her sooner would I have given it five stars? Who knows, if you like friction in your romance that adds a spice this is for you.

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is a romance that is about coming home, finding love again, and all the heartache and happiness in between. Having not read any of this authors work, I was keen to begin. And it was an amazing story. Tear inducing dramatics. Breckin and Griffin both hale from Parker, Oklahoma. Griffin returns brokenhearted, Breckin returns a little bitter and jaded.

Griffin was no stranger to tragedy, and was destined to be alone for the rest of his life. His story touched me deeply. He had made a promise and was determined never to break it. He was the listener, the advisor, the voice of reason and always had a shoulder to cry on. He was a gallant friend and was content to work and hang out with his friends, but go home alone.

Breckin had her scars, but her story was different. She chose the wrong person to invest in and got burnt in the process. She just wanted to be a part of something and not alone. She was scared to put herself out there again romantically. Her story is not uncommon, but was unique in its own right.

Olivia Sherwood provided a gripping and emotional second chance story that sucked you in and kept you totally enthralled from go to woe. It had highs and lows and all the excitement in between. As far as this particular trope goes, Unlikely to Fit was up there with the best. Their journey was over before I was ready, but I have some really great moments spent with these incredible characters and am left with lasting memories of a wonderful story. 5 stars.

Nadia and Luke are electric. Nadia is such a spitfire! I’m so glad that the next book in this series was about Nadia and Luke. I’ve been intrigued with their chemistry since they were introduced in Mr. Nice Guy. At first you think that Luke is a cheater and a liar until you find out his side of the story. Obviously Nadia is reacting so strongly because she still has feelings for him. I really enjoyed seeing the electricity and unfinished business crackling between them. Neither is able to resist the pull of the other. This story made me laugh, tear up and swoon so many times because they both have so much baggage to work through but the ride is so worth it! The ending was absolutely everything and took my breath away. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you won’t regret it.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams

4 out of 5 stars

Another hot Pierce brother equals another fun, witty story filled with laughter, banter and romance. We get the pleasure of learning more about Luke, the divorce father, and Nadia, the stone cold (or so she would like you to believe) nurse.

Luke has worked hard to get his own business up and running. Working the long hours is a wonderful distraction from the limited time with his daughter. When Luke met Nadia the first time, the chemistry could light up a mid-sized town. Luke was in the middle of deciding what he wanted to do with his marriage. When Nadia found out that he was not quite divorced, she cut him off.

Nadia Alvarez watched her parents’ difficult marriage and knew that would never be her. Nadia knew that infidelity had played a role in the demise of her parents’ marriage. Nadia wouldn’t allow herself to be that person. She decided to have a life of love and freedom.

Nadia had bought her dream house about a year ago. Between quick fixes and fixes that allowed her to keep the house in a habitable condition, the house was slowly killing her and draining her savings. Now Luke wants the chance to help Nadia rehab her house. Nadia says no. Luke works hard to design a proposal that she can’t turn down. When Nadia finally agrees, Luke does everything he can to make her dream come true. But will his dream of loving Nadia come true? Will the end of the project be the end of his time with her?

Belinda Williams does it again. The story is fun, flirty, steamy, witty, and sweet. Nadia and Luke have to work through their own baggage to find happiness. It was great to see Tom and Chelsea back. I can’t wait for Seth’s story!! I love this series!!

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams – Review by Tia Martel

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I give Spoilsport 4 out of 5 stars.

Nadia is a no relationships-let’s have fun kind of woman. She knows what she wants and refuses to let anything stand in her way. Even her past with Luke Pierce.

Luke Pierce is a divorced father who takes life seriously. He’s the glue that holds his family together and if you ask anyone, they’d tell you he’s responsible. But being responsible didn’t stop Luke from falling hard for Nadia in just one night.

Now Nadia is agreeing to hire Luke to help save the house she bought all while Luke has to keep his heart safe from her. They’re spending more time together, he’s seeing her let loose and she’s learning that sometimes you may not be able to hold back…no matter how closed off your heart may be.

Spoilsport is book two in the Pierce Brothers series. It takes place in Australia and Belinda Williams is straight up about it in the introduction to the book. The book uses UK English so there are some discrepancies towards US English but they’re common and easy to forget while reading.

Nadia is a riot! She’s all sass and fun with a little obsession with shoes. Sometimes it’s hard for the people around her to see who she is and she can seem a little mean if you’re not careful. She’s all about balancing work and play but she’s cautious about stepping too far into relationship territory. She’s opposite Luke in nearly every aspect. He’s serious and responsible and has a lot to deal with. But recently, Luke has been told he needs to have fun.

Spoilsport follows Nadia and Luke in the quest to restore her home, have fun, and try not to fall in love. It’s full of laughter, emotion, and you might find it gets a little steamy.

This was a fun, quick read, and I have one question. Where can I find me a Pierce brother?

I love it when I find a new release from one of my favourite authors! I couldn’t wait to start reading Unlikely to Fit, I loved the first book in this series so I couldn’t wait to read more about the characters and I was not disappointed at all. Ms Sherwood has this amazing ability to captivate you from her very first word, her writing is flawless and just a pleasure to read.
For me Breckin and Griffin were just perfect for each other. Both of their stories made me emotional and I really felt for them as individuals. They had both been hurt in the past in completely different ways – I really do think that they were both genuinely nice people and they deserved a second chance at happiness. However I did get a little frustrated with them both at times but I think they made me love them both more and I was rooting for them to be together! I loved the humour in this book too especially with Griffin’s Grandmother!
I really cannot recommend this book enough and Olivia Sherwood as an author. Her stories are fantastic as well as her characters!

After reading and enjoying book 1 in this series I was looking forward to starting the second and it was again a really good read. I really liked Luke; he was a great character to read about. I have to admit it took me a while to warm up to Nadia, I wasn’t sure I was going to like her but I definitely go to know her more as the story progressed. There was a great amount of chemistry between the two main characters and it did feel genuine an don’t forced. I found myself rooting for them towards the end of the story. The story provided some great entertainment and some very funny laugh out loud moments too. This book could easily be read as a standalone but I would recommend reading them in order.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Spoilsport is a fun, lighthearted, enemies-to-lovers romance. Nadia is an uber competitive and quick-witted nurse who prefers her relationships with men to fun-filled and less than 24 hours long. She and Luke Pierce have a past, one that left a bad taste in her mouth. Unfortunately, his brother is the boyfriend of her best friend, Chelsea, so their worlds bump together often. Chelsea sees the spark between the two, and plays a bit of under-handed matchmaking to get Nadia to see the sweeter side of Luke, and start to trust him again. The banter between Luke and Nadia is full of fire and sass, and hints that a romance might be equally steamy. I enjoyed hearing from Chelsea and her boyfriend Tom again, after reading Book 1 in this series. If you enjoyed Book 1, I’m sure you’ll find Spoilsport equally engaging. If you missed out on the first one, this one definitely works as a fun stand-alone rom com.

RomComs are really Belinda Willams sweetspot and quite frankly one of mine when it comes to my one-click finger. Spoilsport is the second book in the hilarious and romantic RomCom Pierce Brothers Series from Belinda Williams and so far my favorite of the two. I didn’t think that was possible since I loved the first one so much too, but these books are full of fun and witty moments, quirky characters, sweet relatable moments, and storylines that are impossible to not fall in love with quickly! This time we got the story of Luke Pierce and Nadia. These two will have you giggling out loud and falling in love with love! I can’t wait to see what Pierce brother fun we have coming next!

What a fantastic and hilarious story in this series. I believe that I like this book even more than the first one. I honestly laughed from start to finish and sometimes was laughing so hard I cried. I couldn’t put it down, so it was a very fast read for me. I am a sucker for rom coms, so this was no different. Personally, I would like to see this series made into a TV mini-series. Or even a regular TV series. These characters are that great and I could honestly see their stories played on the screen. The author has a wonderful way with writing comedies, and this was no exception. I can’t wait until next year to get my hands on book 3. Thank you for such a wonderful series Ms. Williams. I highly recommend that if you want to laugh until your insides hurt you pick this series up. You will not want to put it down.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams

I have been waiting for Luke and Nadia’s story since I got to know them in Mr. Nice Guy and I wasn’t disappointed at all.

Nadia doesn’t deal with a lot of crap and is a strong independent woman but she has fought hard to accomplish that along with being an amazing nurse.  She hates feeling unsure and vulnerable and that is exactly what Luke does to her.

Luke loves his daughter and job, but learns that they aren’t the only important things in his life.

I loved the verbal sparring (mostly from Nadia) and how they were when together.   Looking forward to reading how the next Pierce Brother falls and thankful there are a total of four brothers.

This is my first book by this author and OMG I LOVED it! This can be read as a standalone but is the second book of the Parker Lake Series. I will definitely be reading the rest of this series. I can’t wait to learn the other character’s story’s. Breckin has a crappy ex husband who wronged her in an embarrassing way, so she has a little bit of trust issues. Griff lost the love of his life and can’t seem to move on. Can they both work out their issues and be together? I promise you’ll enjoy this story. Griff’s Meemaw is one of the most hilarious characters I’ve read in a long time. I absolutely LOVE her!

This book was sweet, fun romantic comedy about Luke and Nadia. The head strong Nadia has no time for a relationship nor games. After a one night stand with Luke, it was all she wrote. Nadia finds out that Luke was separated from his now ex-wife and she feels like she was lied to. Luke takes life seriously and after one night with Nadia he left his guard down. Luke felt so much spark with Nadia it was hard for him to forget. When Nadia purchases her own home, it becomes more of a hazard. When Luke helps Nadia to fix up her home, her intentions are just that. All business. The banter between Luke and Nadia just made me laugh, she is so head strong, he is serious business. Will Nadia loosen Luke up with this but yet let love come in ? Definitely read this book and find out. I thought this story was light, cute and enjoyable.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams. This is such a fun series! This book was so good. Its the story of Nadia Alvarez who loves men but doesn’t want a relationship at all. Nadia’s new house is a money pit so what she really needs is a repairman. She had a guy that could fix her house but she made the mistake of having a one night stand with him. Luke is a divorced dad and a builder who is very serious about everything in life. He can’t get the dark haired beauty out of his thoughts but he knows she doesn’t want a relationship and that’s what he wants. He’s trying hard not to obsess over her but he can’t control it. Nadia tells him he can fix her house but he needs to not mention their one night stand at all! Will Luke be able to knock down her walls and get her to try at a relationship? Read Spoilsport to find out. This book can be read as a standalone but its much better reading the first one!

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

An enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy and book two in the ‘Pierce Brothers’ series about the naughty but nice brothers. This story focuses on Luke Pierce, and can be read as a standalone story but the characters do crossover. Luke is a divorced father and builder who takes life seriously, but he’s never forgotten the women he had an uncharacteristic one night stand with, Nadia. So when Nadia Alvarez asks him to help her with her fixer-upper house which is nearly falling down he says yes. However, Nadia makes it clear that if he wants the job then he’s not allowed to bring up their past and has to forget it ever happened. Nadia can’t believe that she’s so desperate for a builder that she has had to turn to Luke who she never expected to see again, as usually after a one night stand she moves on as she definitely does not believe in love.
However, spending time with Luke and trying to get him to see the fun side of life, like she does, becomes a challenge for Nadia and she may actually be at risk of falling in love. Meanwhile, Luke is trying hard not to fall for Nadia, again, but can’t resist her wicked sense of humour and the fun she brings to his life. This was a lighthearted, fun read with plenty of romance and a bit of drama which kept me happily turning the pages. I fell in love with the very likeable and relatable characters, and I felt engaged with them. The storyline flowed well making it an easy read, and the story had the right mix of laugh out loud moments, emotional moments and of course romance leading to some steamy scenes. The authors descriptive narrative bought both the characters and the setting to life, and I was cheering Luke and Nadia on and hoping they would get their HEA.

Four Stars

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake Series by Olivia Sherwood. This Rom/Com had me laughing out loud sometimes and had me reaching for my box of tissues at other times. This book should be read after the first book just so you get the whole picture in the series. I think this is my new favorite by Ms. Sherwood. This story flowed from beginning to end and I just couldn’t put it down. This book features Breckinridge Henderson, who just moved back home with her husband. He decides to start a relationship with the head cheerleader. So, Breckin is not looking for love after having her heart broken. Griffin Stephens had a bad relationship years ago that he just can’t get over, so he is not looking for love either. When they meet, the chemistry is hot. Will they get over their trust issues and come together at the end? This was such a fun book to read and the secondary characters are wonderful. I hope we get a book about each of her friends. I highly recommend this book, series and author.

You can read this as a standalone as it follows another couple than book 1, but a great series so I suggest you read it anyways!
Following Breckin and Griffin, two people hurt by love and life. Not two people you would imagine being together but my goodness what a pair.
I really loved this story and the characters. You couldnt help but root for these two, feel the pain of the both of them and just want to hug them and be friends.

Highly recommend!

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake series by Olivia Sherwood. This is a great contemporary romance- with a small town setting, second chances, chemistry, emotion, humour, drama, banter, antics, and wonderful characters with depth and a real endearing quality.
I loved the first book, so when I saw this pop up I happily grabbed a copy and jumped right in. Breckin and Griff were so easy to love and invest in. I was immersed in their story, cheering them on from the sidelines. They didn’t have an easy run- but this book has all the feels you could want in a story. It dug its way under my skin and left a permanent impression.
Bring on Book #3!

Thank you, Olivia Sherwood!

Spoilsport is the second book in the Pierce Brothers series by Belinda Williams. Ms. Williams’ never fails to deliver a great read and this book was no exception. This is a fun romcom with second chances, opposites attract, humour, angst, tension, steam, and a touch of drama.
What if you were a love-‘em and Leave-‘em kind of girl and the only builder available to help you with your fixer-upper is a guy you swore never to see again after a hot and steamy one-night-stand. Could get complicated. Right? Well, that’s exactly where Nadia Alverez finds herself when desperate times call for desperate measures. But she should be able to keep things professional. Right? Keep the past passion right where it belongs- in the past. Easy peasy…. well, not so much. Chemistry comes into play, complications arise, and sparks fly….
Looking forward to Book #3!

Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood a five-star read that will definitely fit in your top reads. This is the second book in the Parker Lake series, you don’t need to have read the first book to know what’s going on but you will want to re-read it if you haven’t before this. It’s that good a read. This story has it all, Brekin Henderson comes into her own in this story, she goes from meek and weak divorcee who people gossiped about when her husband left her, to a woman that you would happily go to CeCe’s with and get a mani-pedi before going to drinks with and eyeing up all the candy. But to be fair you would probably have to deal with Griffin Stephens Mema and her crazy cat obsession, (She’s whom I plan to be in 60 years) to get to the Candy. As she would definitely be trying to keep you away from her grandson.
This book was so funny, I couldn’t put it down. I love Olivia Sherwood’s writing and don’t know how I missed this story until now. I can’t wait to see who we will be finding more about in the next Parker Lake series book. I just know I want me a Griffin of my own to call me his Jelly Bean

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Unlikely To Fit by Ashlie Knapp is the second book in her Parker Lake series. This book can be read as a stand-alone although I would always recommend reading book one first.

Breckin has it all – a great life, great husband. Moving back home is the icing on the cake. Until her perfect husband leaves her for someone else. Broken, and struggling to pick up the pieces Breckin has to find ska way to start over in a town where it is impossible to stay anonymous.
Griffin is used to people looking at him and thinking they know everything. The bike and the tattoos portray one image. However underneath it all Griffin is nothing like his persona. Still grieving from the loss of his girlfriend he concentrates in looking after his grandmother and running his bar.
When Breckin and Griffin start to work together the attraction between them may just be enough to start to heal them both.

I loved reading about these characters. They were so well suited. The story grabbed me from the start and I found that I flew through this book with ease. This series as a whole was the first from the author for me and I am excited to read more.

Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lane Book 2) by Ashlie Knapp is a romance comedy. This is not my first book by this author but I believe it to be my favorite. This is the second book in her Parker Lane series. I highly recommend reading the first book first so that you can enjoy this series for how it was meant to be. I love how this author has the ability to pull me in from the first word of her books. This one is no different, I had a hard time putting it down after I started it. Her attention to details made me feel as if I was right there in the story. Her characters are heart warming and connectable. They took me on an emotional roller that had me laughing to feel compassion. This book is about second chances and learning to trust again. This is about Breckin. She has moved back home with her husband. What she didn’t expect to happen is her life falling apart. Her husband has left her for the head cheerleader. Putting her life back together has been sort of a problem, everyone knows everyone’s business. Then you have Griffen who has a gentle soul. He is a hard worker and will do anything for anyone. What will happen when she agrees to help him give his grandmother a birthday party? They both have pasts with broken hearts but the more time they spend together the more feelings are starting. Will they be able to heal each other’s hearts? Will they learn to put aside their insecurities to let themselves be happy? I enjoyed both of these characters. They have been hurt in the past but I think that this makes their characters stronger. I just wanted to yell at them in parts, telling them to wake up! These two really do belong together and I found myself hoping that they would find their happily ever after. I highly recommend you read this book to find out for yourself what fate has in store for them. Will they get their second chance or will fate have something else in store for them?

I enjoyed this romance story that has a touch of comedy to it. This is an author that I have enjoyed from the first book I have picked up from her. I enjoy being pulled into the story by the characters. Her attention to details give her stories a realistic feel and make the plot pop. This book is no different. It is one of my favorites. This is the second book in this series all though it can be read as a standalone I highly suggest reading the first book as it is just as great if not better. This is a well written story about second chance romance. Nadia has hired a builder that she was determined to never see again. Luke fell for her hard the first time and she made sure he understands that they are not to be. This is where the humor and fate steps into the story. What happens next you don’t want to miss. They have great chemistry and growth throughout the story. I also enjoyed how connectable and what they brought to the story. This is a great story that made me laugh a few times. This book deserves more than 5 stars! This is the perfect contemporary romance. It is hilarious yet heartfelt. Spoilsport can be read as a standalone but is book 2 in the Pierce Brothers Series. You don’t need to read book 1 (Mr. Nice Guy) but I recommend it. I absolutely loved getting to know Luke and Nadia’s story but also catching up with Tom and Chelsea from Book 1. Luke is a single dad with a big heart, who’s ex-wife gives him a hard time. Nadia is a nurse who doesn’t believe in love because of her parents failed marriage. Esme (Luke’s daughter) is my new favorite character, she is an awesome kid and helps the story in so many ways. I can’t wait until the other two books of this series come out! There were so many things I enjoyed about this book. It had quite a bit of humor in it. Which I love! I enjoy great friendships in stories. This one had Breckin and the girls and also Griff and Wyatt all had great relationships. Animals! Haha I love a story that incorporates animals. Romance…well that’s a given.
It’s been a while since I read an Ashlie Knapp book and I forgot how entertaining they are. I enjoy reading about and getting to know her characters and the writing is so smooth. Sometimes I have to wonder where she comes up with the stuff her characters do in the books. (Mema??) She is pretty imaginative!

I have not read the first book in this series. It has been on my TBR list so I will be moving it to the top. Because now I am all interested in how Wyatt and Annie got together! I bet there is a great story there!
PS..I love the cover! It’s very different from others out on the market! Eye-catching!

Unlikely to Fit- Olivia Sherwood
5-star review

Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood is a 5-star read! It’s the second book in her Parker Lake series, this is the first book I’ve read of this series, so I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone. There was so much detail and the storyline was very clear, there was never a part of the story that was unclear. I have read this author’s Players series and loved each book, but this book is by far my favorite from this author!

This book follows Breckin and Griffin, two characters that were so easy to connect and relate too. It didn’t take long for Griffin to win me over, he’s a heavily tatted man with a heart of gold, he’s sweet, caring, and protective. He’s a one of a kind man. And I loved Breckin, I felt invested in her story from the start as it felt like I had known her my whole life. I also really loved the supporting characters, they added so much humour to this story and it would not have been the same without them.

I would absolutely recommend this book to others and I look forward to reading the first book in the series!
