Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Kerry Carr

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a lovely romance story about two people who get a second chance at love. The characters are really well written and the author really brings the characters to life. You really feel the pain these characters go through and you also feel their strength and love as they learn to let their guards down and learn to love again. This is also the second book in the Parker Lane Series.

Breckin Henderson returned home with her husband. She thought her life was set until her husband left her for the head of the cheerleading team. Now her life is falling apart and she needs to rebuild it. However this time it has to be done in a town where everyone knows your business.

Griffin is a hardworking man. He’s got a gentle soul and is willing to help anyone. He has also been hurt in love and has shut himself off from the possibility of finding love.
So what happens when these two people with heartbreak in their past meet and get to know one another. Can they find love between their broken hearts? And with the added pressure of small town gossip will their romance be killed before it even begins.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the second Parker Lake story, but the first one I have read. From the opening scene where Breckin gets out of her car to help the sheriff move a donkey out of the middle of the road, I was hooked. I lived in a small town where livestock and wildlife could delay your travel time to work.
This story did a great job of showing how quaint small-town life can be. Everyone knows everyone, knows everyone’s business, and knows all the town gossip. I enjoyed the comedy relief that Olivia Sherwood put in her story. Breckin and Griffin have their friends rooting for them to get together, they both deserve a happy ending after the heartache they have both been through.

Mr. Nice Guy (Pierce Brothers, #1)Mr. Nice Guy by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mr Nice Guy is the first book in the Pierce Brothers series and really gets the ball rolling with a witty, well thought out storyline and loveable characters. Chelsea is ALWAYS dating the wrong guy! She shares an apartment with her older brother’s friend Tom who is not only good looking, stable and considerate, but he is a good guy and he has grown tired of listening about her dating disasters all while developing feelings for her. One day inspiration strikes and Chelsea’s friend Nadia entices Tom to give Chelsea a week with a good guy to get her over all the bad ones. Seems harmless enough at first, but as the week progresses, they both find each other falling and wanting each other as more than just friends. Can they stay friends and roommates after this week, or will the sparks fly and they become more? You will root for their budding romance as you continue to read and you will find yourself not able to put the book down until you know what will happen. This book truly was such a great read with characters full of heart that you so easily connect with. And the steamy scenes will have you sweating! Believe me when I say you want to read this book!!

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a page-turner! “Spoilsport” is an enjoyable and entertaining romantic comedy and although it is book two in the ‘Pierce Brothers’ series it can be read as a standalone, even though the characters crossover. This book focuses on Luke Pierce, whom is a divorced father and builder whom never forgot his time with Nadia from his past. So imagine the complications when Nadia Alvarez asks him to help her with her fixer-upper house which is basically falling down. Both decide to work together, promising to keep the past in the past. However this proves to be difficult when they spend time together working on the house and enjoying each other’s company. The story was very lighthearted with plenty of romance and a bit of drama. I actually found myself disliking Nadia at times but quickly grew to like her as well. The characters are likeable, easy to relate to and engaging throughout the book. Did I mention steamy scenes, because oh boy did this book have many of those! I found myself cheering Luke and Nadia on and couldn’t put this book down until I was done and left wanting more of it. Highly recommend this page-turner!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book gives hope to those hurt by others. Breckin and Griff had both had their hearts broken in other relationships. Could they make a relationship work by letting the past go? The two of them show how hard relationships can be but by letting go of the past you can oftentimes see what you have good in front of you. The book had all the emotions: tears of sadness, tears of joy, laughter. I felt it all. I could totally relate to this book and I feel others will too. It was a fantastic read that pulled you in and because you felt the story; you couldn’t put it down until you finished it. I would highly recommend it for romance lovers everywhere.

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake Series by Olivia Sherwood.  I liked Griff and Breckin a lot but Griff’s Mema had laughing out loud.  I want to be her when I get that old.  No filter and lots of fun living life and embarrassing my family.

The closeness between Breckin, Annie and CC is a more like sisters than best friends and I love it.  They are willing to drop everything to go help if there is someone in need.  Doesn’t matter if they need an ear or need to get absolutely trashed they are there.  Griff is just a great guy who will go above and beyond to help someone out and he proved that with what he did to help Megan out.

Great book and series and I’m looking forward to see who is next.  I of course think it will be CC but I think there may have been a door opened for someone else.  I’m dying to know and can’t wait for the book to come out.

FIVE STARS
Luke is a divorced dad, Nadia is a female player. She is in it all for the fun and no strings attached hookup. Luke is more down to earth and responsible.
There is a bit of history between these two. Will Luke get to follow his heart this time or will Nadia send him packing after Luke helps her with her fixer-upper home.
Great characters and development.
Spoilsport is the 2nd book in the Pierce brothers series. There are a total of four. They can all be read as stand alones or you can read them back to back.. So far Tom and Luke are HOT HOT HOT.

There are certain types of books I reach for when I’m in a reading slump. Books that have well loved tropes, but without them being overwhelmingly… tropey… and cliche. Comfort reads. This is one of those books I could see myself picking up again. It’s got a little enemies to lovers, hate to love type feeling. But the banter was great, the steam was steamy and the ending made me happy!

This is such a cute story. Tom is proving that are really “NICE” guys out there. Chelsea has such low self esteem that it is really hard to read in places, but she does bounce back and becomes a bit more confident before the end. Way to go Tom on that one. This story is really good. The friends become lovers or brothers best friend genre.
I saw in the blurb about this book that Mr. Nice Guy is actually the first in a series about four brothers. I am definitly going to be checking all of them out. I hope they are all as good as Tom and Chelsea’s story.

By: Belinda Williams
Genre: Romance

This was a fun, easy story of romance. Keep in mind I end this as a stand alone although it is book two of a series.
I found a new book beau Luke who is deeply described as a green eyed beauty.
Luke hopes that a feisty and independent Nadia will love him although she I hard to get.
The plot made it easy to keep reading and Williams does a great way of making you fall in love with her characters.
It all starts with a fixer upper and I as hooked from the first page.
If your looking to get out of a reading slump read this series.
Four stars and I am interested in book three.

I love books like this one. I read the first one and fell in love with the Pierce Brothers. This story was no different. I really loved Luke and the way he go Nadia to turn around. Nadia bothered me in the first story as Chelsea’s best friend. This story I got to understand her a little more which made her come around for me a little more. If I didn’t enjoy the story and Luke as much as I did, I would have probably only given it 4 stars since it really took a lot for me to get around Nadia’s attitude and almost immaturity. The back and forth between Nadia and Luke was fun to see unfold as renovations went on. I hope that there will be more in this series with the other Pierce brothers.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers Book 2) by Belinda Williams is everything that a romance book should be. Filled with tension, great charcters, a few steamy scenes and most of all a happily ever after Spoilsport will have every romance reader on the edge of their seats. Ms. Williams writing is delightful, her plot intriguing and wonderful, and her characters are amazing.Nadia is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t need a man. Let alone a man like Luke. But after a terrible one night stand and an offer she can’t refuse will these two enemies become lovers? You’ll have to read

I was so excited to read the second book in the Pierce Brothers series and it certainly did not disappoint! Spoilsport by Belinda Williams was a quick read for me, full of steamy encounters and tangible chemistry between the two main characters.

Nadia and Luke were both introduced in the first book and I was happy to learn more about their relationship as well as hear updates about Chelsea and Tom in this installment of the series. The book watches as ‘cold-hearted’ Nadia slowly warms up to Luke, whom is helping her with her fixer-upper house. The author wrote the book in such a way that I felt like I was going through what they did as I was reading it, which was right on par with the first book! I am definitely looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Spoilsport by Belinda Williams.is the second book in the Pierce Brothers series. I thought this book was even better than the first one and I loved the mix of seriousness and comedy. I thought the author got the balance just right which added a depth to the book.
Luke and Nadia are great characters. They have such a strong chemistry but there are so many things in their way.
I enjoyed what the author did with the book as a whole. I thought it was entertaining and a great read from start to finish. I can’t wait to see what is next from this author.

This is the second book in the Pierce Brothers Series. This is a second chance romance which is full of tension. Both characters in this story are fighting their feelings, neither wanting to admit them but this time they both may fall harder than ever

Luke is a builder and after his one night stand with Nadia he fell for her hard. However that was to be when Nadia found out he was  separated and that he had a kid.
This information destroyed whatever was blossoming between them.

Not they are thrown back together when Nadia needs help on her home and Luke is just the man for the job. Their relationship is frosty and as time goes on Nadia decides to make it her mission to show Luke the fun side of life. To stop him from being so serious all the time. Her plan is to get him to loosen up, however could her plan backfire when she realises she is falling for him all over again.

I loved this book and I loved the characters. Nadia and Luke have a second chance at love but after the first time, I don’t think Nadia will give him the second chance. I think Nadia needs to get a grip though. Like was separated….he wasn’t involved with his wife when he met Nadia.

Now Nadia buys a house that pretty
Much needs to be gutted because everything is wrong with it. From the holes in the floor and the faulty electric, this house is an accident waiting to happen. Good thing Nadia’s best friends have connections. Nadia wants to have anyone but Luke work on her home but, his quote comes in way less then anyone’s. Luke owns the company so his quote is without his share.
Luke had very strong feelings for Nadia during their short relationship and now with him working for you and being so close to her, what will happen? Will Nadia finally see him for the nice, caring, hot, dependable person he is?
I thought this book was very well written. I didnt like Nadia at the very beginning but then things become clearer. Cannot wait for Seth’s book!

I will admit, it was a little bit of a slow read for me, but I LOVE this story! Very well written story line, and I fell in love with the characters at each level of change within the story! Nadia is giving all the vibes of an independent yet broken young woman, fighting with this crazy possessed home. This woman is fighting to create her own life, and deals with family drama (who doesn’t have any, amirite?), and then meets up AGAIN with this handsome builder. The incessant fighting with him was so fun to experience, as it felt realistic! I understand her desires to stay within her own boundaries….but who can really fight against true love for long?!? Great story with twists and turns, and now I want to know more about all of the Pierce Brothers!

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Spoilsport is the 2nd book in the Pierce Brothers series by Belinda Williams. Each book is focussed on one of the Pierce brothers and can be read as a standalone. However, if you are going to read more than one I suggest you read them in order to prevent spoilers.
One thing I love about Belinda Williams’ books is that they are set in Australia. It makes such a nice change from reading books set in the US and the UK. I love that I get to know more about different places.
Spoilsport tells the story of the oldest Pierce brother Luke and Nadia who is the best friend of Chelsea, the heroine of the first book. Nadia and Luke have history which ended badly and now Nadia hates him. Or does she really? When Luke’s company is given the job of renovating Nadia’s house the sparks are sure to fly. Nadia is one very feisty woman. Hell, I’d be scared of her.
I really loved reading Nadia and Luke’s story. I was pulled into the story from the very beginning and was certainly kept entertained and engaged throughout by Nadia’s feisty antics and Luke trying to keep the peace.
This story flows really well and has great characters, including Luke’s adorable 9 year old daughter Esme. I’m a real sucker for a cute kid in a book and Esme really is cute.
I’d definitely recommend this book.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was a great rom com, and very enjoyable from the start. I loved how things started off all the way to the ending of the book. It was very enjoyable and a light hearted read, with moments that brought on the humor as well as the charming moments between our characters. Great read!

I loved how different our main two characters were, and in reality, how much they were the same. I love reading stories where the characters get all these signs as Nadia and Luke did about them being destined to be together, but as modern day people the signs were ignored. Especially by Nadia. The character growth was amazing, again I really enjoyed Nadia’s change the most. I can say I know from experience that letting your guard down is no easy task, but sometimes its something that we all must do?

What was different for me, with this rom com was the true manipulation between these two. Yes the whole enemies to lovers genre, but the games they played on one another was very fun and different, and yes it was unexpected. It really added to the story to what it was. I had a lot of fun reading this book in the series, and I will for sure continue to read the rest of the series by this author!

Again, this was a rather remarkable and enjoyable read for sure. I had a lot of fun, and the characters and plot were different from others I read, and made this story stand out from the rest. The character’s background and development was very realistic, which I loved. Highly recommend this gem of a read!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is the second book in the Parker Lake series by the wonderful Olivia Sherwood and it is absolutely fantastic!!! I fell in love with these characters in the first book and I was so happy to be able to read their individual stories this time. I simply could not put the book down and greedily read it in one day. OMG I haven’t laughed out loud so hard, while reading a book in ages!!! Griffs MeeMaw is absolutely hysterical!!!! I hope I am that sassy at 90!
Griff and Breckin have both had their hearts totally broken, in very different ways, but being able to understand each others pain is something that I think helps them bond and a new love to grow. They are just such wonderful characters and from start to finish you want only the best for them. They will face some more heartache and some twists and turns along the way but together they can get through anything.
Do yourself a huge favour and head on over to Parker, you won’t regret it!

I was excited to read this story. We met Nadia and Luke in the last book. They really seemed like oil and water. I knew fireworks were going to happen. I was not disappointed. These two would have had a tougher go of it if they didn’t have friends and family.

The story is a good one but at times it seemed overly long. I almost would have preferred more action between them (not sexual but forced proximity or more run ins). I also feel the storyline with Esme did not get finished.

Overall this is a good story that gives the feels. We get to see a lot of the two MC from book 1 who help the story along.

Wow what a fun read Spoilsport by Belinda Williams is! I have to admit I absolutely loved the fact that it was set in Newcastle and the Hunter Valley region, being a Hunter Valley girl myself it was so much fun being able to completely connect with the places mentioned. Don’t worry though anyone reading this Fab book will love it, you don’t have to be a local to enjoy it.
The path to love is definitely not a smooth one for Nadia and Luke and at times I wanted to scream at Nadia to wake up to herself and see what an amazing guy Luke is. To me that’s the sign of a great book if you are that involved the characters become so very real to you. As you delve deeper into the book you realise all Nadias strong bravado comes from some very painful places and you want nothing more for her than the love she deserves…Luke is just the man for that job, he just has to convince her of that.

Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Book 2 in the Pierce Brothers series, and we get to watch another brother fall hard. Belinda Williams knows her way around romantic comedy, and this book will definitely having you smiling, laughing, and cheering through to the end.

Nadia was unexpected. You truly feel for her and the emotional baggage she holds regarding her parents toxic marriage and messy divorce. She was very jaded about love and relationships with a determination to never let that sentimental 4 letter word break her. She was a hard character to love and connect with in a sense. However there were many times I adored her, wanted to yell at her, shake her, or just hug her with the way she had my emotions going lol. Eventually I warmed up to her character, and I was rooting for her. Luke was sweet, lovable, and a great father. He saw past Nadia’s cold exterior, and saw the beautiful and amazing woman she was.
When Nadia and Luke reconnect because her house is in dire need of a little TLC it becomes Luke’s chance to get his girl. Opposites truly attract as he pushes her outside her comfort zone and we are pulled into their many cheesy moments adorned with playful banter. Nadia is determined to keep her heart and distance from Luke even with the daily close encounters. The miscommunication and the tension runs high, but deep down they are both aware that the one night stand they had would never ben enough. Luke wants his next love story to be the works, and he wants it with Nadia. A dream home is not truly a house without a family, and this story really brings you home.

It just keeps getting better. The second book in series in the Pierce Brothers series; was just as good as the first. While I was a fan of Tom from Mr. Nice Guy, I’m even a bigger fan of Lucas. I enjoyed the chemistry between him and Nadia, how they both had to work on being vulnerable with each other. Spoilsport is fun, witty, charming, easy to read, lighthearted and humorous. Spoilsport (Pierce Brothers, #2)Spoilsport by Belinda Williams
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book was on par with the last, and I have to admit that I was looking forward to learning more about the story between Nadia and Luke since the last installment. I loved that we still heard from Chelsea and Tom and discovered that their romance was the real deal. Everything seems to be falling together, and, at this rate, all of the brothers will find their true love by the end of this series. It’s bittersweet to think about. Going back to the story: Nadia is well known for her cold heart and inability to feel love or want a relationship. She and Luke have a rocky past – to say the least – and this book filled me with many different emotions over the course of the read. I loved that we learned more about what happened between Luke and his ex-wife, that we were given more insight into what was happening with him and his daughter, and that we gained many glimpses into Nadia’s past. Everything was so well-written and gave us all of the information that we wanted (and that they needed) to overcome their shortcomings and find a way to make it work. Luke’s hardworking, serious demeanor and Nadia’s fun-loving, stubborn exterior are a perfect blend. I am so excited to see what is coming up next for Seth!

Spoilsport by Belinda Williams is the second book in the Pierce Brothers series. This can easily be read and enjoyed without having read the first book in the series. I was looking forward to this book after reading the first book where the characters of Nadia and Luke are introduced. Nadia is not interested in relationships and especially not love. She is snarky and wonderful with witty comments. Luke, a recently divorced father, can’t stop himself from thinking of this enticing woman. Will Luke crack through the tough shell Nadia has placed around herself?
I enjoyed this sweet romance and the characters are relatable. I like that there are contrasts in their personalities that create tension between the characters. This series has been fun and enjoyable. A nice getaway from the stresses of life. I look forward to reading more from this author in the near future.

Spoilsport is a second novel in the Pierce Brother by Belinda Williams.

Needing help fixing her house before it falls down, Nadia Alvarez enlists the help of former lover Luke Pierce, a divorced father, who takes life too seriously. She only wants to keep this professional if he wants the job.

Like starts letting his guard down because of Nadia’s sense of humor which could cause him to love him more, thus completing the job more difficult.

I have been really into romantic comedies novels lately and I am so happy I picked this up.

I haven’t read the previous novel in the series but I plan to. I hope there is more to this series.

Luke and Nadia had a one-night stand. That was all it was. Now Nadia needs work done on her house. Luke wants more. Nadia just wants fun. Who will win this one? What a fun book. Ms. Williams does a fantastic job with writing an entertaining romance. The story is relatable as are the characters. Who hasn’t gone through this type of situation? It may not always turn out this way but sometimes it does. The fact that it is a second chance helps a lot. Divorced parents deserve second chances at romance also. Everything was perfect in the book. I loved this one as much as the first book in the series. Highly recommend.
