Chased (A Cambridge Men of Honour Novel Book One): A Dark Mafia Bad Boy Romance (Cambridge Men of Honour—Dark Mafia Romances 1) by Felicity Brandon – Review by Angela Shirley

ChasedChased by Felicity Brandon
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Chase is pure evil, he has to be to run the most notorious criminal gang in England but he has to questioned the is there any humanity in his soul but then Allegra comes into his life.

Chase is the leader of the most hideous criminal gang but although he demands the world and takes everything else with out question, one chance meeting makes him question himself and can does he have any humanity left in his soul to love.

Allegra is a law student minding her own business when she is almost run over by Chase, she feels the sparks from that minute but after she realises who he is, can they go there separate ways or is Allegra willing to submit to biggest gangster and become his property more than his equal.

I have to say if you are not into the darker side of life and are turned away by trafficking, degradation of people and especially violence then this may not be the book for you. I understand that this in not everybody’s cup of tea but if you truly read the story you will find a brilliantly, well written story with complex characters and nail biting twist and turns.

Is Chase a Barsteward, YES! is he evil YES! but I think this just makes for a more meaningful story, Allegra is a strong, intelligent young women who is the best character to address and fight against the bad behaviour of Chase. To see the turmoil for both of them as Chase has never met anyone who has openly defied him like she has which frustrates that he can not control her, let alone possess her and he has to try and deal with those emotions and has to learn to be more for her. Then also the dilemma that Allegra has that if she gives just a little bit to Chase will she lose her free will and become a piece of property and not an equal which is such an intriguing read.

I can’t wait to read the next book in this series and see where the next instalment sits.

Elusive: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 5) by Via Mari – Review by Tracy Gutierrez

Relentless Billionaire BodyguardsRelentless Billionaire Bodyguards by Via Mari

Via Mari did it again!! Loved Dereck and Layla’s story. Layla is a strong and independent woman, looking for her sister. A sister she believes was taken by Human Traffickers. Dereck was assigned to helping find Bryanna, along with Damian. He started watching Layla hoping to find more answers. Dereck ends up helping Layla find her sister, which doesn’t end very well. Their story is full of surprises and very well told. The story had my attention from the get go. This is a must read. Can’t wait to see what else Via Mari has in store.

Elusive (Billionaire Bodyguards #5)

Elusive by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

4 ½ Stars

Elusive is the fifth book in the Billionaire Bodyguards series by Via Mari. This is another fantastic addition to the Billionaire Bodyguards romantic suspense series- and again we are thrust into an action-packed adventure, with plenty of danger, sex traffickers, hidden agendas, mystery, hot sizzling encounters, intrigue, and romance.
As with the rest of the series, this book could be read as a standalone, as each book in the series focuses on a different couple. But, having said that, I really recommend reading the previous books before starting on this one, because not only are they great stories in their own rights- but you’ll get to meet the recurring characters (who you will want to know more about), as well as the bridging background story that is being revealed as the series evolves.
This is Alexis and Sheldon’s story (whom we have met previously)- where Alexis finds herself in a sticky situation when an international sex trafficker sets his eyes on her and Sheldon is tasked with protecting her. What happens makes for an exciting read.
As I have said before- Via Mari is known for her superb romantic suspense stories and this book showcases that beautifully. She easily builds gripping suspense, intrigue, palpable tension, and sizzling chemistry- while balancing it all with lighter moments and believable emotion.
Another unputdownable read from this talented author!

Thank you, Via Mari!

Elusive: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 5) by Via Mari – Review by Angela Shirley

Elusive (Billionaire Bodyguards #5)Elusive by Via Mari
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

When a chance meeting can mean a lot more and they don’t even know it yet.

Sheldon is a bodyguard protecting those who pay enough to make sure they have the best of the best, but a chance meeting in a coffee shop puts his world into a spin and does he really now what he is getting himself involved in when he meet Alexis and the attraction is instant.

Alexis calls to Sheldon’s dominant side which he does not often show this side of him as it tends to to be too intense for other woman, but Sheldon’s dominants calls to Alexis in a way she has not felt before but their is a secret which needs to be hidden or she may get him involved or even killed.

Sheldon and Alexis are drawn into a danger, action and hot attraction can they survive the predator that has Alexis in his sights and will not let go with out a fight.

Oh my lord, Via Mari has done it again, this story is epic. If you are looking for a nice romance with a bit of drama I suggest another book, this is full of sexually tense, hot action and a bad ass male dom in the middle of a great story.

I love all the characters that are portraited in this series but I have to admit I loved the character of Sheldon, don’t me wrong he’s no saint but hell I would love to sin with him. The tense that slowly builds between the main characters is brilliant and adds to this intense story. I book flows through brilliantly and you hardly keep track of time when reading which is always a sign of of a brilliantly written story.

I can’t wait to delve back into this world with the next book in this series or any of her other series, one I definitely recommend you need to read, but not just this one the whole series is brilliantly.

Eye of the Storm (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 2) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Angela Shirley

Eye of the Storm is an action packed story from start to finish, the story is set within the deepest of the jungle but will he be able to trust her or will she turn on him in the end.

This story is full of twists and turns, it will have you chasing the story with each turn of the page to be part of the story as you go. The book is set in the jungle and follows the story of Chris and Mari, as Chris is airdropped into this dense jungle he does not quite reach his destination and becomes stuck and unable to remember who he is and how he has got there, until he meets Mari who helps him try to understand who he is but Chris is no sure he can trust her.

Mari is on a mission of her own, this feisty, strong character who does not take any nonsense, she has grown up in the most dangerous environment but she is on her own mission which she will not defer from.

I loved this story with the twists and turns and the action had me gripped and wanting to keep listening even in the wee hours of the morning to finish this wonderful story. I loved the character of Mari, she was a kick ass women who knew what she wanted and went for it. The relationship between Mari and Chris was dynastic and interesting within the story.

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato ) by Cam Johns & Sonya Jesus – Review by Stephanie Chapman

Sons of Sindicato (Sons of Sindicato #0)Sons of Sindicato by Cam Johns
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sons of Sindicato is an edgy romance novel written by the collaborative efforts of Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. Braelynn has just obtained her approval of being a partner in a notorious law firm. Despite all of her diligent work, Thomas Wexler seems to not be happy making her a partner. Determined to amend any hard feelings between them, Braelynn stays late and enters his office. Wexler is working on something and seems agitated at her interruption of his privacy. Tension is building and Wexler locks the office door; this isn’t the first time Braelynn has been at the mercy of her boss; only this time she has a secret that will be her saving grace.
Attorneys and clients should never be involved in anything beyond a business relationship. This suspense story involves the Giordano family and a young black female attorney needing to have a common goal. Braelynn is involved in a serious relationship with Seth, and their relationship has been a secret. After waiting on Braelynn, Seth enters the building and finds Wexler dead and his girlfriend’s clothing shredded from an attack. Immediately, his criminal mind turns on and Braelynn is thrown into the world of the Sindicato organization. Will she be able to keep her job as an attorney? Will the mob accept her as a family, or will she be left alone?
The writing is intense in this short book, and I am eagerly looking forward to reading the next book in the series. I am an avid fan of suspense crime novels and Sons of Sindicatio delivers everything I look for in a 5-star book. The action, raw emotion, and uncertainty of what path each character will take held my attention all the way to the ending. The end is perfect for a seamless transition into a sequel.

Eye of the Storm (A Gray Ghost Novel, book 2) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Betsy Melano

Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost Series Book 2) by Amy McKinley is fast paced and action packed from the first chapter where we meet Chris and Mari in the jungles of Columbia. Mari helped save Chris’ life and she believes he will save her in return. Before that can happen, Mari must help Chris recover from his injuries so he can find a way out of the jungle.

I really enjoyed listening to this book. Regan Brown does a wonderful job adding to the story with her narration.

Xander the Navy Seal and Riley the barista have sparks flying as they get to know one another. With trouble brewing in both of their lives, this was a tense book. I loved the strength Riley has when she finds out the truth of who is behind the break ins at her apartment. I await the continuation of the next book. THE DEVOTED FAN (21ST Century Courtesan Book 5) by Pamela DuMond writing as P. S. DuMond – Review by Jennifer Gordon

THE DEVOTED FANTHE DEVOTED FAN by Pamela DuMond
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I was hooked from page one of this romantic suspense which is book five in the ‘21ST Century Courtesan’ series. I would personally recommend reading this series in order as the storyline continues throughout the series. The main character, Evelyn Berlinger is a 21st Century Courtesan who used to moonlight at Ma Maison. Evie is used to billionaires paying large amounts of money to be with her as she is Empathic. Evie is still mourning the loss of her husband, Wyatt who she loved and sadly couldn’t help. Following his death everything changed for Evie as Wyatt bequeathed his fortune to her. However, whilst Evie just wants to start a new life believing the worst is now behind her she soon learns that karma has other plans. The plot twists kept this story exciting and it’s filled with drama, suspense and romance, as Evie struggles with her feelings for her late husbands brother, Easton. I found this psychological thriller both enjoyable and engaging and the complex storyline and intriguing characters ensured that I could not put this book down.

Twisted Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops Series, book 1) AUDIO BOOK by Amy McKinley – Review by Bobbi Wagner

This is not my first audio by this author but it is one of my favorites by her.  I enjoyed the narrator’s tone of voice and what it brought to the story.  The narrator brought the characters to life using different tones.  This is a story that brings the romance and action into one well rounded story. The characters bring the story to life with each page.  This is a story about two people who have lives that are not going as well as they expected until a once chance meeting in a coffee shop.   As danger merges and the past comes to the present, the action really picks up.   I highly recommend this audio and this author.

Cam Johns really knows how to bring mayhem, murder, and mafia into a great story. I absolutely loved this book. Braelynn is a strong female character that really empowered me and Johns made you fall in love with all of the characters no matter how good or bad they were.

Braeylynn gets caught up in a predicament but is it truly self defense or is this something she has been wanting to do. She ends up turning over secrets that help her mafia boyfriends father gain power within the family. She struggles with the acceptance because she is not of Italian heritage.

Will a common enemy help them to follow their hearts? I couldn’t put this book down and read it in one sitting. I fell in love with the characters and was rooting them on the whole way.

Sons of Sindicato is the prequel in the Sons of Sindicato series by Cam Johns and Sonya Jesus. It was a very quick read, but boy did it pack a punch. I was hooked from page one!

Braelynn is a criminal defense attorney at a high profile law firm that works with known members of the mafia. But Braelynn has a couple of secrets that could destroy everything.

Seth is one of the sons of the Sindicato. He is implusive and hot headed and his dad, the leader of the Sindicato doesn’t approve.

This prequel is full of secrets, love, and strategy. And leads beautifully right into the first full novel of the series!

This may be my favorite from this series so far! I can’t express how much I loved Alexis, I admire independent, headstrong women. Even though she dealt with scars from a bad relationship who wouldn’t eventually fall for Sheldon? I think he was the perfect mix of hard and soft, especially with her. This book is no different. It is a shorter book but it packs a punch. The characters are relatable and brought the story to life on each page. This is a story about karma. If you don’t believe in it, you just might at the end of this story. When Wyatt dies, he passes everything he had to our MC of the story. But will she learn there is a price to pay for everything at some point? I enjoyed the growth of this story and how fast paced, engaging it was. It was a great afternoon read. Chased is book one in the Cambridge Men of Honour by Felicity Brandon. It is dark, dangerous and high energy. There is nothing I like more than an angsty and edgy read, and this story ticked all the boxes. The characters blended together and provided a plethora of drama and suspense. The unfolding of the story was hard to turn away from and not a lot got done until I finished it. It was very easy to become immersed and blend with the characters and story. The men is this story were hard edged and had zero tolerance for fools, making this story riveting and a delight to read. Easy to follow, easy to relate, easy to fall for the cast of Chased. 4 stars.
