Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine – Review by Katie Matthews

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I absolutely loved this book! From beginning to end I was completely captivated. The characters were brilliant – Nathaniel was everything that I wanted him to be and I love Bryer – she was confident, sassy with a slight naivety and defensiveness towards relationships because of her past. They both had a great amount of chemistry and I was rooting for them the whole way through! I had so many emotions whilst reading this story and the author did a really good job with bringing these out in the characters. This author isn’t new to me so I knew I would be in for a good read and I can 100% say this is going to be one fantastic trilogy!
I cannot wait to read the second book in the trilogy!!!

This was such a good book! I already can’t wait to dive into the next one.
The sex scenes in this are hot hot hot! Bryer and Nathan have an insane chemistry you could just feel through your screen.
This story has a little of everything, neither is wanting a relationship for one reason or another, each has their own reasons, suspense and of course the romance!
Highly recommend!

Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One by Virginia Wine is the first book in The Forgotten Trilogy. There are two versions of this book to choose from the original version is more erotic while the second version is sweet and sensual.

This book has a little bit of everything. There is passion, mystery, and angst. You can’t put it down! I enjoyed following Nathan and Bryer’s relationship. Nathan couldn’t help but want to change his ways when it came to Bryer. I was pretty invested in their relationship so I had to keep reading. I highly recommend this book! I can’t wait to read book two.

No moment or heartbeat is promised.

The world stopped for one second and I took a breath.

Nathan and Bryer had declared their love,

their hopes and dreams for the future were solidified.

They’d been through many hurdles and conquered them all.

Until the past caught up with them, Cash the smooth-taking lawyer from Austin had always won, and this would be no exception. He had one goal, to tear them apart. With no moral compass, he would go to great lengths to have her again. One more chance to love Bryer.

But Nathan didn’t give up easily, and if it was a fight Cash wanted, a fight he’d get. Nathan knew nothing would break their love; he was certain of it.

But when Bryer was put to the test she had to choose, the past or the future.

And that path was unclear.

Ultimately, would she stand by the man she loved today, or the love from her past?

Which man would hold her heart?

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1) by Virginia Wine was a great 5 star read.

Bryer is starting over after a horrible experience of finding her fiance in bed with another woman. She has this personal trainer that has gotten her attention in many ways. She finally decides to take the first step and ask him out.

Nathan isn’t the type of guy to have more than one night with a woman. However..there is something about Bryer that calls to him. Sensing that he shouldn’t take things fast with her, he tries to be considerate and go slow with her. As they move forward something from Nathan’s past comes back to haunt him.

What will happen when Bryer learns about Nathan’s secret?

Overall this was a great read. I really liked Bryer’s thoughts, especially the ones about Nathan. She was a great strong character. I really liked her friend Gen. Nathan grew on me and by the end I loved him. I was pulled in by Virgiinia’s writing and didn’t want to stop until I was done. I can’t wait to see what the next book brings for this couple. Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine and I am torn in my rating of this book. Why? The story was interesting and full of suspense and there is a lot to keep you intrigued but I found it hard to gel with the characters. I felt they could have been more and I was not able to relate to them. I like them, don’t get me wrong but I just needed more from them. The story is fast paced but interesting and Virginia’s writing style held my attention but I would have loved to have a bit more information and background. Definitely a good start to a series and I will definitely be looking for book two to see what happens!

Forgotten Truth is the first book in the Forgotten series by Virginia Wine and is a romantic comedy. I loved reading this story, it draws you in from the beginning and hooks you until the very last page. This book follows Nathaniel James Jr and Bryer Reid and oh did I love these 2 characters. Bryer is a woman who has been hurt so she doesn’t trust easy and Nathaniel doesn’t do relationships but finds himself wanting more. But when secrets start getting revealed will it break their relationship? This was a great book, the storyline was great and I felt like I could connect with the characters.

Wow, Wow, Wow! After being drawn in by the cover of the book and the synopsis, what I was expecting from this read compared to what I got was so much more, it was incredible! This book was filled with pure, real, raw emotions.

This author has created a read with an incredible storyline, characters that are so very real and have incredible chemistry. I couldn’t help but love each of these characters and really hope that they face their past to get a HEA they both deserve. Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forgotten Truth is the first book in the Forgotten Trilogy by Virginia Wine. I first became a fan of Virginia Wine when I read the Surviving Series so was excited to get the chance to start another series of hers. Having now read Forgotten Truth, I can say that this is going to be a fantastic trilogy that I’m going to want to read again.
This story pulled me in from the very beginning and it still hasn’t let me go. I just NEED to read what comes next. Be prepared to be taken on a rollercoaster journey through this book that will drag out every emotion from you.
Nathaniel (Nathan) James runs a gym with his best friend. He’s known as a bit of a player and he has no plans to settle down with one woman. Bryer Reid is one of Nathan’s clients at the gym and looks forward to her one on one session with him on a Saturday morning, even though he tortures her for that hour. Unknown to the other both have had an eye on each other for some time, so when Bryer invites him out for ice cream he jumps at the chance.
I loved Bryer and Nathan’s story. Both have issues from their past and in this story we get a very deep insight into Nathan’s past. Nathan’s story is heartbreaking and very compelling to read and judging by the way we are left at the of this book, I think we might get much more of Bryer’s story in the 2nd book which I can’t wait to read.

Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine

Bryer starts a new life after a painful breakup and ends up living near her best friend Gen. She has no idea what she’s in store for now that she has met Nathan the hot trainer at the gym she works out at and he owns.

Nathan is nothing like you would expect him to be to a point. But Bryer is a game changer for him.

This book was hard for me to put down. I was having a tough night sleeping, I picked it up to read a few pages to try and fall back to sleep. I glanced up and I had read over a quarter of the book.

This story grabs you in a very unexpected way and I loved it. There was some drama and lots of suspense and amazing hot romance.

I can’t wait to read the next book, think it’s going to be a good one.

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forgotten Truth Virginia Wine a five-star read that doesn’t want to be forgotten. This is number one in the Forgotten series and I can’t wait for number two, there is drama and chemistry a plenty in this story and it bursts from the page. Bryer was great, starting over is hard to do, believe me I’ve been there, but she handles it well, and we all know what we shouldn’t do, but sometimes its just not that easy. Nathan, well with her past I can see why Bryer would avoid him, but could he change for the right one? Well you need to read to find out but be aware that there is so much more than just the story between these two even though it’s a great story.

Forgotten Truth is a story regarding life and pasts which have been forgotten and tried to forget but will an attraction be enough to take the relationship to the next level.

The story involves Bryer a young women trying to overcome the total betrayal of her ex-partner who she found having an affair, she totally reinvents herself with a new job, new home and possibly a new relationship but went the person you are attracted to is a player will he be able to give her everything she needs and require’s to live happily every after.

Nathan has secrets but he is a player. He is definitely a love them and live them person but when Bryer enters the gym he works at he can’t get her off his mind. He knows he’s the wrong person and possibly can not giver her the relationship that she wants as he does not know how to commit.

I really enjoyed this story, the chemistry of these two characters is off the charts. I love the Bryer character as a intelligent, brave young woman who is not afraid to start over again and try to find what she is looking for. I love how the story takes you on an adventure with these two characters and with each word you discover more and more about them. The writing is brilliant and engaging and can not wait to read more from this author in the future.

Satan's Devils MC Boxset Books 1-5Satan’s Devils MC Boxset Books 1-5 by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Satan’s Devils MC Boxset 1 Books 1-5: Brothers protecting their own is a box set containing 5 full length novels by Manda Mellett. I discovered Manda Mellett’s Satan’s Devils books at the end of this series, reading books 10-11 and have also read the Colorado Chapter books and have been desperately wanting to read the rest of the books, so was ecstatic when she released the box sets.
In particular, I was excited to read Wraith and Sophie’s story and Drummer and Sam’s. I have to say that I was not disappointed in the slightest. I find it difficult to put Manda Mellett’s books down and this box set was no different to the other of her books that I’ve read. I think that Wraith and Sophie’s story has to be my favourite from this box set. I was always intrigued as to how this English lady in a wheelchair came to be part of this club.
I absolutely adored Sophie in her book and in the others when she’s throwing around some very British sayings. I particularly like the ass versus arse (excuse the language) conversation.
As with all of Manda Mellett’s book I love the camaraderie between the men and how they are one big family. I also love how they treat their woman (not the sweet butts). They worship their women and would do absolutely anything for them.
Although these books are romance novels, all are filled with drama, intrigue and danger. Manda Mellett sure knows how to write a fantastic story that will have you on the edge of your seat and also drag you through every emotion possible. One minute you are laughing your head off and the next, you have tears streaming down your face.
I have the next 2 box sets, containing the rest of this series on my kindle and I can’t wait to read the rest of this series.

Hawk's Cry (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #2)Hawk’s Cry by Manda Mellett
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Wow! What an emotional roller coaster! Hawk’s Cry is book number 2 in the Satan’s Devils MC – Next Generation Series by Manda Mellett. Eli aka Hawk is the Vice President of the Satan’s Devils Motorcycle Club. Olivia aka Ollie or Liv (only used by Eli) is Hawks wife. They have been brought up by birth together, so it was only inevitable that they were to get married. Though they were somewhat pushed together, this is definitely true love. That is until Hawk has some serious doubts about his life with the club and with his wife. Then with the blink of an eye…No club, No family and No Friends. What happens when all you’ve known is club life and it’s all been taken away and you finally become a citizen? This book shows a woman who fights for her baby, her marriage and her life. It also shows a man who struggles with a disease and is shown full blown support. With that support he starts the road to recovery. This book has lots of twists and turns that no one is expecting. Like I said before, this story is an emotional roller coaster that leads to a very happy ending. It is book number 2 but you can read as a standalone, which I always say don’t do. I haven’t read such a great story in such a long time!

This book drew me in from the beginning and kept a hold of me throughout. I have loved every book I have ever read by this author so I knew it would be good but this one exceeded my expectations. I love the writing style of Manda Mellett, she writes such emotive stories. Hawk and Liv’s story takes an unexpected turn when Hawk decides that what he thought he wanted all his life, he longer wants. Liv is feeling like maybe some of his feelings are her fault. There is so much emotion and it’s very relatable as well. As always I love all the characters in this book, the close knit family that the club is. I cannot say enough good things about this book. This is a must read and I can’t wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book.

Bryer is heartbroken in this story. Going through a bad breakup. In comes Nathan. Typical playboy but is intrigued by Bryer. Plenty of suspense. And everytime you think you’re over one suspense hurdle, you’re hit by another one. I picked the softer version of this book, but its completely correct when it tells you it has the same intensity. Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine is the tale of Bryer and Nathan. When she has her heart broken by her ex, Bryer doesn’t think that she will find love again, however she definitely feels more than just lust for her hunky personal trainer. Nathanial James Jr is not a one woman type of man, haunted by the demons of his past he does not feel worthy of love. Until he agrees to go out with Bryer. Their relationship is not easy, both of them need a shake at times but they manage to find a way to love each other, which isn’t easy with all the obstacles that get thrown up in their way. I enjoyed this book, I felt frustrated by the characters at times, but I think that their reactions/actions fitted well with their backstory. I am looking forward to the next instalment.

3 ½ Stars

Forgotten Truth is the first book in the Forgotten series by Virginia Wine. I have read quite a few books by Virginia Wine and have enjoyed her stories and the way she develops her plots.
The premise of this story was really intriguing, so it was an easy choice to snap up a copy and explore the story. I loved the storyline and all the suspenseful dramatic developments that Ms. Wine was able to create. There is quite a lot going on in this book, from intrigue, danger, action, suspense, a little mystery, tension, drama, chemistry, and of course plenty of sizzle.
Ms. Wine has created a complex story with cleverly crafted elements which kept me reading even though I couldn’t connect with the characters at all for most of the story. I can’t really pinpoint why exactly, except that I felt they were a little underdeveloped and came across a little flat to me. But the storyline kept me reading, and by the end I had grown to appreciate them more, but still wasn’t completely invested in them.
I am intrigued enough by the plot to want to read the next book/s- so I plan on doing a reread of this book again, before diving into the other two books- just in case I was having an ‘off’ reading day during this story.

Thank you, Virginia Wine!

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I don’t often have issues getting into a Virginia Wine novel because I have yet to find one by her that I didn’t love to pieces. Forgotten Truth keeps the trend going and has been absolutely in love with the story. Now, I will say just a warning so to speak that this is the first book in a trilogy so expect a cliffhanger that will leave you salivating for book two as soon as you read the last words. I love how this book was yes a start anew after a torrid or tumultuous past but told in a fresh way. Bryer (who doesn’t love this name!) a woman that is struggling to put the pieces of her life back together into a new normal after finding her husband in bed with another woman. Nathan is not the type she expected to intrigue her at first and knows that he too has skeletons in his closet. These two will be faced with not only their pasts but will have to figure out what and how they want the future to look like. The twists and turns that come in this novel will not be ones that you thought they would be and I loved the surprises with them. I look forward to getting my hands on the next book as soon as possible!

Hawk's Cry (Satan's Devils MC Second Generation #2)Hawk’s Cry by Manda Mellett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I love Manda Mellett’s ‘Satan’s Devils MC’ series and so was looking forward to reading this novel in her new series about the ‘Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation’. Hawk is surrounded by family both blood and club, he was literally born into the club and as VP for the Satan’s Devils MC he is an integral member of the club. Hawk is also recently married to his best friend turned lover, Olivia and they are expecting a baby in six months times, so he should be happy but he’s not. Hawk is questioning his life as everything he thought he wanted in life has become what he least wants, a“What do you do when you’re consumed with the thought there’s something out there that’s better?” Hawks dilemma is whether to leave his club, however his club brothers are not going to let him go easily and what about his wife and unborn baby.
I literally went on an emotional rollercoaster whilst reading this novel, I really felt for Hawk who was obviously dealing with depression, and I felt Mellett handled this with sensitivity and honesty, but I also felt for his pregnant wife Olivia. I fell in love with the Satan’s Devils even more reading this story, and I look forward to reading future books by Manda Mellett.

I have read her other Satan Devils books and loved them. Although I didn’t read the first book in the Second Generation, it didn’t matter. Each one can be read as a stand-alone. This book had my emotions all over the place. My heart went out to Hawk and Olivia. Hawk is going through something and instead of talking to someone, especially his wife, he makes some drastic decisions which not only affect him but also other people as well. Their lives are turned upside down. Be careful what you wish for. Hawk wished and he got what he wanted, only to realize that it’s not as he thought it would be. Hitting rock bottom showed him that he’s not alone. The author did an excellent job in showing what people with Hawk’s condition go through. This book will pull you in and keep you riveted until the very end.

Forgotten Truth (Forgotten #1)Forgotten Truth by Virginia Wine
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read by Virginia Wine, but it won’t be the last. First…I need to know what happens next. Also, the secondary characters in this book are good and deserve their own stories to be told. But, back to this book…

Bryer has been hurt in past relationships, with her last one leaving her not wanting to put herself out there. Nathan is the owner of the gym Bryer works out at. Nathan suffers from nightmares and has his own issues. However, they are attracted to each other. Once they go on their first date, we are pulled into a story that kept me turning the pages.

They are both dealing with pasts that they must come to terms with. Working together, they just might be able to do that. There is drama and suspense alongside a budding relationship that is growing and could be something amazing. Are they willing to be vulnerable in order to heal, or are they too stunted by their pasts to move forward?!? You will have to read it to find out!

I loved reading the story Forgotten Truth Trilogy: Book One (The Forgotten Trilogy 1) by Virginia Wine. It is a story that pulled me in right from the beginning and I was hooked. I loved reading about the characters of Nathaniel James Jr and Bryer Reid. Bryer is a woman who had been betrayed in the past. She is strong and independent however she also finds it hard to trust. She also has a strong attraction to Nathaniel. Nathaniel is a man who doesn’t do relationships. There has been no one that has made him want more than something casual. He finds himself deeply attracted to Bryer. There is both chemistry and wild attraction between Nathaniel and Bryer. They both believe that their feelings are telling them that they belong together. Secrets are being revealed. Will those secrets break Nathaniel or set him free? Will Bryer give Nathaniel her trust? Read this book to find out. This is a story that is at times emotional. It has heartbreaking moments. There are also times of suspense that had me wondering what was going to happen next. There are romantic scenes included. I enjoyed reading about the bantering that goes back and forth between Nathaniel and Bryer. I also enjoyed reading about how the additional characters interacted with Nathaniel and Bryer. Some are good friends and give them advice and support when needed. Don’t miss out on a book that you will not be able to put down until you have read the final page. I highly recommend it.
