Out Of The Shadows by Theresa Sederholt – Review by Sara Oxton

Out Of The ShadowsOut Of The Shadows by Theresa Sederholt
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Out of the Shadows by Theresa Sederholt a fulfilling five-star read. Considering this is such a short read, my emotions feel like I have read a huge saga I can’t believe the author managed to fill so much emotional power in these few pages, it shows us what a talented author we have here. This is a powerful story about secrets, emotions and Dane. Get ready to read this story with tissues and something to comfort you, wine or chocolate and possibly an animal if you have one to hand to snuggle up to as they will help (and if you get desperate the are useful to wipe on). This will leave you with a great sense for other people and what they may face in life, it will open you up and leave you raw, but don’t despair as its so worth reading.

Moonlit Mirage - A Cook Islands Romance (Moonlit Destination Series)Moonlit Mirage – A Cook Islands Romance by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Moonlight Mirage: A Cook Island Romance a five-star dream of a read. I was so excited to see this author had a new series as I had been a huge fan of the Grey Ghost series, and I loved this one. It has the same fast pace, a story that doesn’t let up until the absolute last page, the characters that will keep you on your toes and will make you fall so deep in love with them. Nadia is such a complex character, she has secrets and knows will ruin her happiness, but sometimes you need to risk it. Cade he just made me smile with his fearlessness and determination. Do not miss this story, even if you haven’t read anything by this author again give it a go as you will love it.

King & Hunt: A Lust / Hate StoryKing & Hunt: A Lust / Hate Story by Brienne Dubh
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

King & Hunt by Brienne Dubh a fancy four-star read. This is quick and easy to read and filled with feisty drama and is so hot it may burn your fingers when you touch it. There is so much hate in this story that you can taste the bitterness, but on the flip side as it is a fine line, the lust will taste lovely and sweet in this story as well. Chemistry is off the page and so explosive that you won’t be able to miss these two.

Forget Nico: Falling for the Wrong Italian (Italian Teens novel 1, The Italian Saga) by Gaia B. Amman – Review by Sara Oxton

Forget Nico: Falling for the Wrong Italian (The Italian Saga #3)Forget Nico: Falling for the Wrong Italian by Gaia B. Amman
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Forget Nico by Gaia B. Amman a fabulous four-star read. This is number three in the Italian Saga series, but number one in the Italian Teens novels, I have read the whole Italian saga so don’t know if it could be read as stand-alone as I have read them as the series and enjoyed them as such. This is such a fun and interesting read, and when you realise that it’s the authors own story, it just makes it that much crazier. This was so much fun for me as I was a similar age in the 90s and visited Italy, so this brought back some fond memories for me, the only issue I had was that I don’t remember there being so much teenage angst while I was there. This author has a great story to tell and everyone should give it a go.

Brutal & Raw: Mafia Romance & Psychological Thriller (Beneventi Family Book 1) by Sonya Jesus – Review by Sara Oxton

Brutal & Raw (Beneventi Family, #1)Brutal & Raw by Sonya Jesus
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Brutal and Raw by Sonya Jesus a five-star read that will bring out the rawest emotions. This is the first novel in the Beneventi Family series, and I can’t wait for more. This will keep you hooked and won’t let up until the last pages, its dark and thrilling and will truly keep you on the edge of your toes. The characters in this story are some that will challenge you, the feelings and emotions this story will bring up can be difficult to handle at times, but my goodness they will hook you. Breaker almost broke me, but in the end that went to 327. This has the makings of a great series and an author I will be keeping my eyes open for as what amazing writing.

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn – Review by Sara Oxton

Before the Second ShowBefore the Second Show by Thia Finn
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Before the Second Show by Thia Finn a five-star read that will rock you. Rockstar romance are a hard one to get right, so I usually avoid them unless I know the author and enjoy their style already, but I took a chance on this one and I am so glad I did as this was brilliant. This was such a fast paced read for one that spans such a great length of time, but it was so well done as you get to see Emmy go from wide eyes 16 year old, to a woman in her own right, but as we all know that first major crush has a lot of miles to it, especially when the guy your with isn’t all he thinks he is. This is a stand-alone, but there are so many great characters I would love to hear more from, I will be eagerly watching this author to see if this becomes a series as I will be reading them if they do.

REWIND Boxed set (Rewind Series Books 1-4) By Rowan Shaw – Review by Sara Oxton

Rewind Boxed SetRewind Boxed Set by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rewind Boxed Set by Rowan Shaw a great series of stories. All four stories are great in this boxed set.
Rewind by Rowan Shaw a five-star read that you will want to rewind and read again. It was refreshing reading this story, its set In France and I don’t get to read many stories set there, so it’s nice to see a different place. This is a beautiful but heart-breaking story, the one thing I did adore most was the way the author dealt with deafness and tragic circumstances, they really pull you into the story, making you feel the depth of pain, but showing you that there are ways out of the pain giving you pathways you may seek. I know not everyone likes M/M and if you don’t try to look past that as his is a beautiful story that you need to have in your life. Enzo and Florian have a love that will make you see past their gender.
Return by Rowan Shaw a five-star read that you won’t want to ever return. This has been a great series as its rare to find novels set in France and the beauty of the setting descriptions are well done and you enjoy them so much. The alternating POV can be a little troublesome at times, or maybe that’s just me, but on the other side it did give balance to the story. This may not be for everyone as it does show us amazing M/M scenes and it has an amazing depth that will surprise you, do give the series a go as you won’t be disappointed.
Revive This will surprise you, I was so empathetic towards Patrick and this surprised me as I didn’t enjoy his character previously, but this author has a way of making you really care about the people in these stories, makes you see people differently, make you think differently. It was steamier than I would normally have gone for in this genre, but the author has a way of making it an integral part of the story and just more compelling reading.
Rebound by Rowan Shaw. This is an interesting and challenging story and Noah has a journey to go on through this story and what a story it is, this is an emotional, gripping story and one you need to read. It rounds out the series nicely and you will enjoy this boxed set as every story place its part.

Mountains Climbed (Mountains Series #2) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Sara Oxton

Mountains Climbed (Mountains, #2)Mountains Climbed by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mountains Climbed by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read that you will want to climb like a tree. This is number two in the Mountains series and it is best if you read number one first as this is a continuation of James and Sarah’s story. This is a story that will cause true conflict within your soul, James and Sarah in your heart you know they are destined to be together, but they aren’t. James is set to marry his high school sweetheart, because that’s what you do isn’t it… Especially when Sarah has moved on with Garrett, but even if we know they should be together, it doesn’t always make it so. That’s what I like about this author, the passion is there, but you don’t always get what you want, and also the way the characters interact with the secondary characters, that’s nice, its well done and adds depth to the story. Overall a very well-done story and a series you need in your life.

Mountains Wanted (Mountains Series Book 1)Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Mountains Wanted by Phoebe Alexander a five-star read that you will want to read. This is the first story in the Mountains series, and the first part of James and Sarah’s story. This is a great story and I cant wait to sink my teeth into the next part of James and Sarah’s story as they are both such good characters that you can understand where they are coming from and why they feel the ways they do. Sarah is a great character and one that this author has a way of writing in such a manner that you can’t help but feel compassion and passion for her, understand what makes her tick. If you are looking for something fun and passionate then you need this story.

The Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart isThe Sister Pact: Home is Where The Heart is by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Sister Pact by Jacquie Biggar a five-star read that will warm your heart. This was my second read by this author as I had previously read a story as part of anthology and enjoyed it, so I was excited to see this one pop up. Family are always the hardest to deal with and Jacquie Biggar does the relationship justice as she has a way with words, they portray the difficulties as well as the joys. There is a lot of drama and passion and baggage between Holly and Susan and as you read you get sucked into that and they make you part of the story. Then you have the story of Holly and the hopeful Levi and that just adds extra dimension to this story. This is a sweet and compelling read and one you need in your life.

Zane and Shannon will make you want to bump some heads, but they will even warm the coldest of hearts. Sacrifices need to be made, but will they be able to sacrifice enough for each other? This is a great story and one everyone who needs a little sweetness in their lives needs.

Covert Threat (Gray Ghost #5)Covert Threat by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Covert Threat by Amy McKinley a thrilling five-star read. This is number five in the Grey Ghost series and it could be read as stand-alone but honestly, I have read it as a series and loved it as such. This series has just ramped the drama and action up notch by notch. I love that Jules Moretti is such a good character, she is more than just the female lead, she is brains beyond belief and I was reading this one with all the news about an outbreak of a new flu and I was wishing that Jules was real, I am sure there are many people like her, but Jules just had a little extra something. This was a great compliment for the series and number six can’t come soon enough.

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis #1)The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Rise of House of Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie a five-star read that will rise above. This is the first novel in the House of Valdis series, and I can’t wait for more. This was a great story and so well written that I was surprised to discover that it was a debut novel. The story unfolds and is told from multiple points of view and this is great as it gives you a greater background to the story, a greater perspective to get more of the story. There are a couple of small parts that I was a little lost at, but when I realised it was a debut that made it clear then how this was, I just re-read a couple of paragraphs and it made more sense. The characters are unique and interesting and they have a great depth to them, I am so excited to get my hands on number two.

A Sun So Bright (Reigning Hearts, #3)A Sun So Bright by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Sun so Bright by KG Fletcher a five-star read that will set your heart aflame. This is number three in the Reigning Hearts series and they can be read as stand-alone, I will admit I have read them in order and loved them all, I was worried about this one as Fiona was someone we met previously and I didn’t like her then. I am so glad I didn’t let that put me off as awwww I had a total change of heart about her, it just goes to show that love can make you see life differently. This was a great fake boyfriend story and I have read a few and was getting a little overdone but KG Fletcher has done it well, they have done it real well. Chris was a great character and one who built and developed more than just an old property.

The Runaround (Carolina Connections #6)The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Runaround by Sylvie Stewart a flirty four-star read. This is number six in the Carolina Connections series and they can be read as stand-alone but honestly they are so much fun I would advise to read them in order as they do build form each other and they show us the talent that Sylvie Stewart has as a writer. Ari you have a drive that not many would, that made me smile so much, and she just made me feel like I had some get up and go just reading her story. Jax is a confusing character but when you read his story you start to see why. This was a great story, about timing issues and also worry about others, and overthinking, we all have these in our lives and I think that’s why you will be able to identify with something in this story and that will make this a great read for anyone.

This is the third and concluding novel in the Flowers in December Trilogy, they could maybe be read as stand-alone, but I have read them as a series and so enjoyed them that way, as this is like the cake topper, its so lovely on its own, but as a whole it just brings the whole thing up. The Fat Girl's Guide to Loving Your BodyThe Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Fat Girl’s Guide to Loving Your Body by K.L. Montgomery a positive five-star read. I have enjoyed several of this authors works and always found them to be body positive but this just brought it to the next level, we get to hear the author tell us about their own story, and if like me you struggle with your weight, it just adds an extra voice to the one in your head, and to me that extra voice is a welcome one as its being nice for a change. I enjoyed the style of writing as its not your typical in this type, there is a lightness, freshness and something extra as well. I have read this from cover to cover and devoured it, but I am sure I will be dipping in and out as its filled with messages that you can take day by day as well as information, journals and story’s about how to love yourself no matter who you are or what your size.

Lillie (Maggie Trilogy Series Book 3)Lillie by Mya O’Malley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Lillie by Mya O’Malley a thrilling four-star read. This is number three in the Maggie Trilogy and follows on from Maggie and Naomi so I would strongly recommend you read them in order to get the most out of the story. The flow is strong between all of the stories and the author does an impressive job of keeping it all together, I am assuming they either have very comprehensive notes or an amazing memory as the details have been kept strong and don’t let the story down at all. Naomi is a great character and one that will surprise you with her story, this is a great trilogy, but it does let itself down a tiny bit in places. But that is just my opinion and I would still recommend you check the series out, as I have had some great enjoyment out of this.

Journeys Through SpaceTime (Journeys Through Book 1) by James Talisman – Review by Sara Oxton

Journeys Through SpaceTimeJourneys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Journeys Through SpaceTime by James Talisman a journey of a five-star read. This is number one in the Journeys Through series and shows great promise for the series. The fact that this is a debut novel shows in one or two tiny parts, but honestly, I could not believe it. I have been known to get into many a debate about the multiverse theory and usually avoid stories about it as they all follow the same type and we just get the one line, but I am glad I took the chance on this one as it had a great fresh perspective and made me start a whole debate about ideas from this story. Normally I cannot do that as I read a lot of romance and science nerds do not enjoy debating that, but this was great we started on one point and I brought in so many more. Much like the story it was deep and complex, and I found myself arguing over people just to get my point across, I explained it in different ways as the characters were so complex, they gave you strength from reading them. After we had our discussion we sat and talked and they all asked what book I had read as it must have been good to get me so impassioned, I explained that it was one I took a chance on and I hope many more people will. I did try to get them to give it a go, but they admitted that between the four of them they read one book last year last year. Hears hoping next year they raise the total to include this one.

Singles by Gaia B Amman a four-star read that will let you fit. This is Woman Scientist Trilogy two, The Italian Saga book eight. I have read them as a series and enjoyed them as such, I would suggest you read them in order as even reading the after a break means I have had to nip back and check something as I was feeling a little lost. Leda is a good character who you will enjoy getting to know, she is real as she is flawed and that just means she leaps off the page. Reading about her and getting to know her better just made this story so much better that I would have been without her.

Alice and Trotter are both very complex characters, they each face different difficulties but, in some ways, they face the same. This is a great young adult fantasy series, it has the best qualities of the genre, showing us the difficulties young people face and how together they can share the burden. This has great highs and depths that will have laughing and then feeling despair and compassion. This shows us a great start to what I hope is a great series, I haven’t read the author before, but I will be keeping an eye out now. Testament of Feats by K.H. Jones a five-star read that will surprise you with the depth of Sorrow. This is book two in the series and is the Book of Sorrows, it follows on from the first book, so I would say its best to read them in order. This one built on the last and that just made it so much stronger for me, it just added to the details and made Scream more real and deeper. The world building and character development are so well done that you can’t help but get so sucked in, you really feel like you are there with them on the journey. I for one can’t wait to see what will come next from this author, there is a real talent at detailed writing that is deep but not so deep that it becomes too much.

Amy’s Santa by Manda Mellett a five-star read that you need to read. This is the first novel in the Satan’s Devils MC second generation series, and this is a great story about Amy, and she will surprise you as you read her story. This has some great characters as always, we get to catch up with some that we have met previously if you read the first series (but if you haven’t read that series it doesn’t matter as they are well done so you don’t miss anything), and will get to see Amy and Drew face fate, Amy has a terrific story, not a nice one, but one that will show her how strong she truly is. This is number four is the Spicetopia series, they can be read as stand-alone, but I have read and enjoyed them as a series and this one blew my socks off. Micah Greene what a man, even if he is one of the cloth variety, not someone I expected to see popping up in the Spicetopia world, but I am so glad he does as he is a character I am so glad to see, he just warmed parts of me that have been cold for a very long time. I think he warmed parts of a certain wedding planner as well, but well the cloth thing can be an issue. This whole story just built everything up and gave us a great story, one I was sorry to see end.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Testament of Feats: Book of Judgement by K.H. Jones a four-star read that will take you away. This is my first read by this author, but it wont be the last, as the world building is very well done, especially as I think this is a debut novel, normally I am not a fan of such a detailed story on a debut as they either go way to overboard or just miss huge gaps but this just seemed to get it in that sweet spot, that makes very easy reading. This is a unique story that shows great promise of a great series to come. Scream will captivate you and lead you on an amazing journey, they will surprise you and keep you hooked all the way through, its dark and mysterious and will just keep you reading. There are a couple of bits that drifted hence why it’s a four, and not a five, but I am sure that the series will just get better and better.
