This book was definitely a trip and a half. I would 100% classify it as a psychological thriller, and every page had me guessing as to what would happen next. I did like the book, but as someone who isn’t much of a PT reader, it wasn’t as much as my speed as I was expecting. If you’re someone who enjoys sci-fi and psychological thrillers, then I think you’ll like this book.

This is a set of captivating sci-fi thriller novels. Why would someone agree to be implanted with a mind-controlling chip? The concept of the plot is intriguing and suspenseful. I feel like the books can be read as stand-alones but would recommend reading them in order. There is definitely plenty of twists and turns in the Alterations trilogy! Lilly, Gigi, and Ellen POV’s add to the plot as we experience how the chip effects each one of them. Still not sure if I like or hate the brilliant doctor…

There’s a microchip for that? This is the first work by the creative Jane Suen that I have read, and wow was it a rollercoaster of a place to start. Honestly this book from chapter one had me pondering and completely intrigued. Told from multiple perspectives from start to finish we see the story unravel and the characters evolve. Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly are all everyday women that have one great desire, be it to stay young, lose weight, find love, or forget the pain of lost love this technothriller takes you on journeys you never knew you needed a peek at. While originally, I was put off by Dr Kite’s introduction, his multi-level price points to make his invention accessible for as many people as possible was a high point. Fake taxicab trolling the city looking for “low risk” people that won’t be missed if gone for a few hours, microchips implanted without their knowledge, and covering up when he finds a defect. Dr Kite is not really a doctor but is a doctor I never knew I needed a look inside his mind. Book one Alterations begins with Gigi on the edge, after her recent upgrade to her chip something is wrong, but what? Book two Game Changer picks up a little over a year after the events of book one, Dr Kite has lost his warehouse, and Ellen soon discovers an alteration to her body, how is it possible? Book three Primal Will picks up in the same moment that book two ends with Tiffany having to make an impossible choice or risk refusing and seeing what happens. From start to finish the author keeps you engaged, guessing, and intrigued by the plot and how it could possibly come to an end. Is there a happy ending for any of them? Does Dr Kite succeed? How does it all end? While originally confused but intrigued each new chapter, each insight and ultimately each book answered more questions while also adding a few new ones. Seeing how Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly make it to the other side made this a very satisfying Saturday read. I look forward to looking into some of the author’s other works and seeing what mysteries and suspense await me.

I definitely had a lot of questions and silly comments throughout the series. I found myself talking to the characters and shaking my head and laughing a few times too. I loved getting to see how things progressed for each character and how good reigned in the end. I’m glad I got to read this series.

This trilogy is made even scarier by how realistic it could be! I could definitely see this being a reality in the very near future. I read another book recently by this same author and find their writing style easy to read. I like the way the story moved along so that it was not hard to follow and jumped right in. I definitely recommend having all three books ready because it leaves you on a cliffhanger for each book. I really love all three main characters in the books but especially Gigi’s character. I finished this series in two days because it was so intriguing. I will definitely be reading more from this author very soon!

This really was a trilogy of thought provoking sci-fi thrillers, which kept me gripped throughout. I loved having all three books in one collection as I could then ‘binge read’ the series! The intriguing storyline follows Gigi, Ellen and Lilly who all want to change their lives in some way and so take the drastic decision to go to Dr Kite. He has developed a mind controlling chip which the three women agree to have implanted, however although this gives them an easy and quick fix it comes with consequences. Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly were prepared to risk everything for love, health, and happiness, and Dr Kite’s novel chip implant offers them a mind controlling solution. However, Dr Kite is a secretive figure and when the city is plunged into chaos by unforeseen issues his warehouse is destroyed. It is then discovered that two of the implanted chips are defective and suddenly his plans go horribly wrong. In the aftermath of the disaster one of the woman seeks revenge for Dr Kite’s failings, but she may also have found an opportunity to save herself. I was hooked from start to finish by this original story, and was kept happily turning the pages to find out if Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly get their happily ever after. The characters and the setting were brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative and I was fully immersed in the story.

An amazing set of dystopian type books about fixing what we view as our body issues. A totally creepy Dr. Kite wants to help women fix their issues. The books build on the previous stories and it’s great that they now come together. I found them exciting and thrilling just because of the creepy factor. The characters are easy to relate to. We all have these issues being dealt with and look for easy fixes. This author did a fantastic job with this story. I couldn’t put it down.

Flanks the line between fantasy and reality This trilogy was fascinating. As always this author delivers a brilliant suspense thriller mystery. Gigi, Ellen and Lilly along with Dr. Kite bring their POV to the story. Micro chips delivering dreams or false hopes. It took a little while for the story to take off and once it did I was hooked until the end. The character’s stories are interwoven well and the suspense built across the books, so it is worth reading them in order. Recommend.

Intriguing, suspenseful and interesting sci fi trilogy that was quite enjoyable. This is a perfect box set and the books are meant to be read as a series and definitely not a stand alone.
This series of events from the books has Dr. Kite offering an implant to help and where we meet Gigi, Lilly and Ellen. This implants alters/changes they way they see them-self. Ellen is trying desperately to lose weight and feel good about herself, Gigi is looking for love and Lilly trying to get through her feelings from a divorce. With Dr. Kite’s game changing offer….will this help Ellen, Lilly and Gigi….until he finds out there is some defects in the microchips…
As the story continues in book 2, the ladies try and move on with their life, making sense of it all. You get more from Lilly, Gigi and Ellen as they navigate their next steps…..what is Dr. Kite up to next…..and the epic conclusion in book 3 find out what happens to the end……definitely a roller coaster ride of twists and turns ………

This set includes all three books in the trilogy: Alteration, Game Changer, and Primal Will. I liked the concept of this dystopian, sci-fi series; however, there were times where I found myself lost and having to go back and re-read. I also felt like Suen jumped around sometimes causing the reader to question themselves. But overall I enjoyed the suspense and mystery of the books and I would recommend them. I have neutral feelings towards this book. The storyline itself was decent, but the writing style is where I struggled. A lot of it seemed almost forced. I don’t typically go for dystopian sci-fi, but thought I’d branch out and try this one because it really did appeal to me.
The story is one of which mystery and the family drama is at the forefront, with the sci-fi background. At one point, the POV changes between Mouse and Meph, who is her older brother. One of the hardest parts for me was that I had a hard time mentally placing the dystopian world, as well as understanding the characters mindsets during their POVs. A lot of it read as if they were entitled and only wanted to do what they wanted, when they wanted.
Other than that, characters were well written. You get a really good sense of who they are and what their flaws are. The storyline was unlike one I’ve read before, which is why I struggled with only feeling “meh” about this one. I desperately wanted to love it instead of liking it.
Overall, I think someone who loves sci-fi dystopian novels will love this one a lot more than I did.

I have neutral feelings towards this book. I feel like the storyline itself was pretty good, but the writing style was a little hard for me, a lot of it seemed forced, stiff and underwhelming. “Seen” by Lori Nelson is a dystopian science fiction. The story is full of mystery, family drama, with a sci-fi background. During the book, the viewpoint switches between Mouse and her older brother Meph. I wanted to love this book so badly, but I just couldn’t. One of my biggest issues being that I could not really picture the dystopian world or understand either of the characters mindsets. Personally, to me, it read as spoiled brats just wanting to do whatever they wanted. While I can understand them not wanting anything to do with their father due to his actions, it just didn’t describe that being their reasoning in any manner.
Mouse is wanting to become a journalist and is interning for a newspaper that is located in a not so safe part of the city. Within the first few pages the action immediately starts with a traumatic situation that Mouse and her brother experience. Then later on, Mouse witnesses something that will forever change her, and her viewpoint of her family. This will set the tone for the remainder of the book.
There is more going on than meets the eye, lots of background subplots happening. The characters themselves were well developed (with the exception of their thought process/mindset). Their personality types were very well shown, as well as their flaws and quirks. I think the storyline itself was excellent, and pretty unique.
There are some triggering topics such as, abuse, graphic violence, gore, murder, emotion abuse, betrayal, assault, manipulation, kidnapping and attempted rape.
While I personally didn’t love the book, I still think it is worth others reading and finding out for themselves if they enjoy the writing style. I will recommend this book to others based off the unique storyline.

This thrilling sci-fi masterpiece finds siblings Mouse and Meph living their lives in a dystopian world. Mouse hopes to land a full time position as a journalist yet her father has different aspirations in mind.
Mouse uses her pda to fly her personal drone, which interestingly enough is shaped like a gorgeous raven named Gossip. She uses it to snoop around the city and find a nice juicy headline for her big break.
In addition to her concerns about landing a big story to help obtain a full time journalist position, she’s also hoping that her brother will stick around a bit longer vs obtaining a job further away from home.
The siblings begin to encounter things that only bring more drama in this story. The author did a fantastic job writing a believable sibling duo that love each other but may not always see eye to eye. Also the interesting love interest that happens to be her brother’s best friend just fuels the family dramatics.
I really enjoyed this book from start to finish. It creates a drastically challenging dystopian world that compliments the sci-fi twists.

Reading the Aliens on Earth Collection man there were some really amazing,quick reads in here. Okie I’m not gonna lie, all of them were great reads. I don’t even think I could pick a favorite one, but if I had to pick it’d be Sasha’s Bounties by DEYSI O’DONAL. In this collection the stories were ranked by their heat(the amount of spiciness 🥵) which was super awesome just in case you were in the mood for something more you could go to that section to find a story to read. All in all it took me a couple of days to get through the whole collection. You don’t have to. You can pick and choose whichever one you want but I highly recommend reading them all lmao 😂 🥰🥰. There are alot of different adventures to embark on throughout this collection. Some of the stories do continue separately and I’ll will definitely be going to the Authors pages to find and read them 😂😊

Seen was a very good book. Mouse is a few months away from turning 16. She is interning for the news paper. She would love to work there after she graduates. She is out recording a story when she sees one of her own family members doing something terrible. She gets kidnapped before she can figure out what to do. She must get out before her family closes in on her.

Wherever they have come from and why doesn’t matter, but there is one thing they all have in common and that is romance. When fate comes calling and mates are found, what adventures will they find and where will they lead? This is a collection full of action and adventure, all while the spice heats up in this entertaining and immersive collection.
I LOVE to read sci-fi and dystopian books, so I wasn’t going to let this one pass me up. I was blown away by how quickly I was absorbed into Mouse and Meph’s world. I read this in one day because I just couldn’t put it down. It’s filled with action, drama, suspense, mystery, and kidnapping! I thought I was in for another run of the mill dystopian world with a storyline that would be easy to guess, but this is an absolute original with twists and turns throughout. The author did a fantastic job with developing an incredibly detailed world, in-depth characters, and gripping suspense. I highly recommend picking this up even if it isn’t your usual genre because it will take you by surprise. I can’t wait to see what else this author has in store for us!

The story of Mouse and Meph started out as two siblings quickly turns into a fight for their lives. The well written book keeps you wanting to turn pages and find out what happens to Mouse next. This may have been written in a different time and technology, but it still feels very real. This easily could be made into a thrilling movie!

Let me start out by saying that this is a genre that I don’t usually gravitate toward. But something about the cover of this scifi dystopian novel was calling for me to read it. I most definitely am so glad that I read this. At times the book got dark, but I know that dystopian books can go that direction so I did not let it stop me from reading. I felt like the beginning felt a little clunky, but it might have been because I was slow to pick up on the connections between Mouse and Meph. Once I did though the entire thing made so much more sense. This book is so very good and I felt that Meph’s emotions jumped right off the page. This book had literally everything but the murder suspense plot line literally kept me reading and I definitely see how this book could be made into some sort of TV Show or Movie, it definitely would be well received.

This is a great collection of stories. They are short romances by various authors which is a great way for you to read new authors. All the stories are romances with various degrees of steamyness. All of them are uniquely different and as the title suggest they all revolve around a alien encounter. I enjoyed pretty much all of the stories in this book. They are all fast paced and engaging reads. My favourite has to be The Alien and The Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie. Naomi is definately a favourite author of mine and I have read lots of her work. What I particularly loved about this story is the fact that I wasn’t sure how it was going to turn out. There was danger from the crime bosses fighting for control, and also the danger that Leilphun is when his warrior takes over. For a time i was concerned that Kasper was just going to use Leilphun for his abilities. I don’t want to give too much away but it is a story that gripped me from the beginning and didn’t let go. Overall there wasn’t a single story in this book that I didn’t enjoy and reading each authors unique take on romance and Alien beings kept them all interesting. No two stories were the same. I loved not knowing what i was going to be getting next.

A gripping sci-fi dystopian story which has an original storyline and some wonderful characters. Mouse, is nearly sixteen, at which age she is a legal adult. She works at a local newspaper as an intern, along with her older brother Meph who drives her around and protects her. Mouse’s aim is to write a news article that will get her hired once she graduates, and thinking she has the perfect story she heads to a dark alley to record. However, she wasn’t expecting to witness a member of her own family murdering a young girl. In disbelief Mouse hides the recording, but is then kidnapped, she learns from her captors that it was her father who arranged it as part of a ransom insurance scheme, and he doesn’t want her back. Following her rescue, she doesn’t trust anyone and is trying to get evidence of her story to her mentor at the newspaper. Her father meanwhile is trying to find Mouse in order to kill her before she can release the video which will ruin him. The descriptive narrative brought the dystopian setting and the individual characters vividly to life, making me feel immersed in the story. I loved Mouse and thought she was a great heroine and very relatable. The storyline had me hooked and the plot had plenty of twists and turns which kept me guessing as to the outcome of the story.

This was different that anything I’d read recently which was great. It wasn’t what I was expecting but that’s a good thing, it’s original and had me gripped beginning to end.
There are well placed twists and a sense of danger and betrayal throughout. I was on the edge of my seat desperately reading to find out what would happen next.
I loved mouse, her name seemed to fit so well for what was expected of her but she overcame the obstacles which were presented to her and showed great determination to survive the ordeals. She developed as the book progressed from a little naïve in regard to her family, to a more aware and strong young character. She was well written and although mature for someone her age, it worked well for her passion and personality.
I’m looking forward to seeing what the author brings out next.

Oh wow. This is the first book that I have read by Lori Nelson, so I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect but the interesting cover and one word title was enough to draw my attention. The synopsis was very original and left me curious about how the story would play out. Told from the perspective of Mouse and Meph, SEEN takes you on a story with twist you never expected, even if the synopsis told you it was coming. Mouse is three months away from turning sixteen, the legal age of being an adult in this world. Meph, her older brother is in his early twenties and has just returned home from a work assignment. Determined to stay local this time not only for his sister but his girlfriend Almira. Wendy Waters is the top news reporter in Hattiesburg, and her sister is the Mayor Samantha Waters. More importantly, Wendy is Mouse’s mentor, and what she aspires to be. Determined to get hired full time by the paper she writes for when she graduates Mouse is out looking for a non-fluff story to give her a bigger name, make them want to hire her. As mentioned, the cover drew me in and quickly you discover that the crow is Mouse’s drone Gossip. On her first trip out, she witnesses a double murder and kidnap, determined to find the little girl Mouse continues to head out each day even getting grazed by a bullet on day two in the arm. Day three everything changes, witnesses’ things she never should have seen and visual scars that will linger with her forever. Her main goal, to prove she is not a kid, that she knows what she wants and how she feels, and she will prove it with this story no matter what it takes. Even when she becomes part of it and her father is behind it all. Will Meph succeed in the impossible choice, and be able to protect all of those he loves? Can Mouse get the evidence to her mentor and survive her father’s vengeance? The world the author builds is one of extremes. While a great deal is a dramatization or more so a concentration of real-world problems, the way she gives so many details while keeping the characters developing over time with the world and each other keeps you engaged and on the edge of your seat. The twists and turns and the funny little moments between Mouse and Meph keep you feeling like you know these characters. While the synopsis tells you that her father arranges for her kidnap and ransom along with other crimes you hold your breath reading as it unfolds and the characters morph doing what they must to survive.

I normally don’t read dystopian novels, but the cover drew me in and I wasn’t disappointed. Some of the story is a little dark, given the genre, and I felt the beginning was a little disjointed until I figured out the separate yet intertwined story lines of Mouse, her brother Meph, and their friend.
Having the brother having to choose between different family members was a clever plot twist (and I am not giving it away because it is in the blurb), and Lori Nelson does a fantastic job capturing Meth’s feelings and struggles. This was my first Lori Nelson book and I look forward to see what kinds of atmosphere or worlds she has in her other books, because this one book had a well written plot.

Intrigued by this stunning and different cover of the book I jumped on board to see what this author had in store and I can say I really loved this book. I do enjoy dystopian sci fi stories and this book did not disappoint. Murder, intrigue, suspense, crime and family…..this set the tone and I was all in.
When Mouse witnesses a member of her own family murder someone else…..and leads to a chain of events of kidnapping and hard decisions. Will Mouse be saved and will Meph, whom is Mouse’s brother make the right decision on who he can save before it is to late?
I am looking forward to more from this author….this was a great read and hard to put down. I loved the characters, the brother/sister relationship of Meph and Mouse and I really loved Gossip.

Seen is a dystopian science fiction adventure. The viewpoint changes between Mouse and her brother Meph. Mouse wants to become a news article writer when she graduates high school in a few short months. I really wanted to enjoy this book but unfortunately for me, Seen did not meet my expectations. I struggled to picture Mouse and Mephs’ world and their motivation. They both read like overprivileged teenagers that want to have their own lives separate from their fathers. Not to say that their reasoning is unjustified due to the fathers’ outlandish behavior and the ending of this story. I also felt like there were too many subplots with Meph that took away the focus from Mouse. This book seems to be made for young adults, but I would recommend adults due to the sensitive topics that are in this book like murder, violence, gore, and attempted rape.

Seen is a dystopian sci-fi thriller that centers around the character of Mouse, a soon-to-be sixteen-year-old girl. The story is crafted beautifully with a storyline that keeps you hooked, and scenes written so vividly that you are completely immersed into the story with the characters. The characters are well written, engaging, and lovable. Throughout the story we see them grow as they are put through one excruciating test after another that will test their strength and courage. Mouse is the one I instantly felt an emotional connection to with all the heartache, stress, and turmoil that comes at her. She is ambitious, smart, determined, hardworking, and courageous. In her quest to become a hard-hitting journalist she takes to the streets with her drone seeking a newsworthy story. What she stumbles onto changes her life and puts her in a position that could destroy her family. Things become intense and take a sinister turn when Mouse is kidnapped and one of her family members might be responsible. The author takes us on a gripping, edge-of-your-seat, intense ride as Mouse learns horrifying things about her family that put her own life in danger. This book had action, suspense, danger, murder, violence, mystery, secrets, lies, and betrayal. I highly recommend Seen!
