This is the first book I’ve read by this author so I can honestly say that this book can be read as a standalone as I had no problem following along with this one.
Runaway to the Outback is a great romance read, I’m always a huge fan of small-town romances, there’s something so simplistic and relatable about them. Granted this one isn’t quite as relatable as the main character is a well-known model but I still enjoyed it all the same.
If you are looking for a sweet small town romance this is the book for you!

Code Name: Vulture (The Order of the Condor Series Book 1) by Maya Daniels and Sylvia Black. I loved this book and I can’t wait for the 2nd one. This is the story of Danielle who works for a history museum and has gone to an auction to buy a specific statue for the museum. When she is outbid by some mysterious man she is livid. Little does she know but the mysterious man is really out to get her. Danielle can’t believe this guy outbid her because there were only 4 people aware of this specific piece. The mysterious man is non other than Vulture a brother in the Code of Condor and a full blood Vampire. When Vulture lays eyes on Danielle he has to have her and soon he kidnaps her and puts her in a cage. The Contract was only for the statue but he couldn’t help himself. He doesn’t realize how strong Danielle is and wonders if he will ever be able to really have her. Vulture is a dark character but I was actually rooting for him in the end. Will Danielle ever give in to Vulture and fall for him the way he’s fallen for her? Read Code Name to find out!

So I was really sucked into this book as it was written in a way that just grips you. I felt like I was right there with Cady and experiencing all she was. I will say that I did NOT expect what happened towards the end so wow and bravo to the author there.
Theres really no words to describe this book, its just an experience you have to read.

I was curious about this book since I have read other books by Ms. Flockton and enjoyed them. Seeing it was set in Australia made me even more curious.
I’m so glad I took the time to read this book. It started off sad but the mood changes as we get further along. Ryan’s past catches up with him when he ends up in the small town her grew up in. He has no idea what to expect when the unexpected happens.
I liked Sindy, but I don’t know if there was one thing that endeared me or if was just who she was.
I’m looking forward to the next book, I love catching up with old friends and learning more about my new ones.

This isn’t the first book I’ve read by Flockton. This is the second book in the Welcome to Bunya Junction Series. It can be read as a standalone. Flockton knows what to do to keep her readers coming back.
Pandora comes into Bunya Junction running from a photoshoot. When she walks in everyone thinks that she is a runaway bride. She is tired of modelling and wants to take a break. The quote I chose for Pandora is: “I’m impressed with your knowledge. But in answer to your question, once I get into a room I’ll make a call then. It’s not your problem to sort out.”
Jonas is the younger brother of Sindy(Home to the Outback). When a woman comes into the pub looking like a bride Jonas wonders what is going on. He soon learns that there is no one coming to look for the bride. The question he has is, what secrets is she hiding? The quote I chose for Jonas is: “Are you hungry? We’ve got a pretty decent menu here, with good food. The offer of the room is still on the table. If you do decide you want to go back to Sydney, you can’t do it on an empty stomach. And I promise I will do my best not to say anything else that will upset you.”
Highly recommended for Contemporary Romance lovers.

Unsettled Scores is book 2 in the DAG team series by Kel O’Connor. This series is meant to be read in order and I would recommend reading book 1 first before reading Unsettled Scores. I do not think I can explain how much I really enjoyed this book. The characters are phenomenal and make you feel like they are your friends as you go along their daily lives both personal and work while you read the story. Amy Stuart has been blaming herself for the death of her sister for four years. After being hired by Hugh Bainbridge IV, as a member of DAG (Data Acquisition Group), to help find out who is smuggling drugs into his mother’s charity, she finds herself back in the city where her niece and brother-in-law live hoping to fix her relationship with them and get answers and revenge against the person who has caused her and her family so much pain, but Hugh is attractive and she is just his type. Will Amy be able to focus on her end goal and not the cute lawyer who has caught her attention? If you enjoy a good suspense novel with lots of descriptive action and some romance added in then I highly recommend this book, and series. I love a good suspense novel and this one kept me wanting to keep reading even when I had to stop. I cannot wait until Kel comes out with the next in the series, because it will be at the top of my to-be-read list and she will now be on the top of my new favourite authors list!

Overall, it was a great book, and I enjoyed it!

Saratoga Roan is a sweet story about the reuniting of Cassandra and Rhett. Cassandra needed to board her horse and Rhett’s place was the perfect scene, and also the perfect chance to try to win him back. Their breakup five years earlier was explosive, but there were secrets both Cassandra and Rhett hid from one another. They now have to explore their true feelings, do some soul searching, and come to terms with the parts of their past that led them to where they are. This book reads so smoothly, it didn’t take long to get through it. Cassandra and Rhett are complex characters with complex pasts. They draw you in and make you instantly love them. Bree M. Lewandowski has created the perfect feel good story for anyone who loves a little drama and some sweet romance.

This is the second book in the Welcome to Bunya Junction series. I have loved the books in the series so far. These stories are sweet love stories set in a little village. The characters are well written and are so well developed that you feel like you know the deeply and are experiencing everything with them.
Jonas runs the only pub in the quiet village of Bunya Junction. His life is turned upside down when a runaway bride runs into his pub.
Pandora is a model. After a stressful photo shoot she decides to run away. Literally in the clothes for her photo shoot and the car as well. Now she had a decision to make. Does she stay hidden in this small town or go back and face the music.
What she doesn’t anticipate is falling for the owner of the village pub who takes her in and shows her kindness and support. Can Pandora finally learn to relax? Unsettled Scores by Kel O’Connor is one of 2 amazing books that I read this week (the other being No Way Out by Amy McKinley). Unsettled Scores is the 2nd book in the DAG team series by Kel O’Connor. This was the first time that I had read any of Kel O’Connor’s writing but it certainly will not be the last as I was totally hooked by this book and didn’t want to put it down. Although this book can be read as a stand alone, I do think it would make sense to read the first book in the series before it. I know that I now want to go and read the first book to see what I missed. Unsettled Scores is the story of DAG team member Amy who is out to avenge the death of her sister, and Hugh, the handsome lawyer who hires DAG to investigate when drugs are found at his mother’s charity. Amy is devoted to her job and set on avenging her sister but she doesn’t expect the distraction of gorgeous lawyer Hugh who she has to work closely with to solve the case. This book is well written, with fantastic characters and a storyline that flows really well and has you gripped from the very beginning right up to the very end. 100% recommend.

She has friends that literally have her back. I was hooked on this book. Had a lot of twists and turns. She ends up being lucky who she marries. She also escapes the clutches of her so called father.

I read two books this week and they were the two best books that I have read for a long time. The first of these was the excellent No Way Out by Amy McKinley (the other being Unsettled Scores by Kel O’Connor). I have been a huge fan of Amy McKinley for a couple of years now and she never fails to deliver and with No Way Out she has taken the bar to a whole new level. I was totally grabbed by this book and just didn’t want to put it down. No Way Out is the first book in the Mafia Elite Series. I do love a mafia story and this is one of the best mafia stories that I have ever read. When I read mafia stories I always find myself thinking ‘are there really people that live like this?’ Amy McKinley is a master at writing the most amazing characters and wonderful storylines. She has certainly excelled herself with No Way Out. Max and Liliana are two amazing characters that I could have read about for hours and hours and never tired of them. The storyline to this book is really gripping and has many twists and turns. Typically with a mafia story there is much drama, danger and intrigue and Amy McKinley takes you on an amazing journey that you won’t want to end. I absolutely adored this book and can’t wait to read more from this series. 100% recommend.

The Book of Carraig is the second book in The Cross of Ciaran series by Andrea Matthews. As with the first book, it is a paranormal romance- with mystery, magic, romance, family, a serial killer, danger, secrets, angst, adventure, drama, suspense, and history. As this book follows on from the events in Book One, so I highly recommend reading ‘The Cross Of Ciaran’ before embarking on this adventure. This story picks up a year after the developments in book one. Ciaran has returned to his homeland, Ireland- but it is not the home he once remembered. He is determined to ‘wake’ his brother, who has spent centuries in the same sleep state that Ciaran experienced. He hopes that The Book of Carraig has the answers he needs. He just has to locate it- easy, right? Things do not go according to plan. Add a serial killer threatening the area- and the story gets interesting. The story continues in ‘The Cave of Rúin Ársa’ (Book Three).

Whisper Creek is the seventh book in the Logan McKenna Mystery series by Valerie Davisson. This is a crime and investigation story with murder, mystery, drama, secrets, suspense, dramatic developments, danger, and tension. This series is definitely getting better the further into it I get. With this the seventh book, our leading lady Logan has been through quite a lot, but don’t expect her to get a reprieve any time soon. Even away from home, trouble never seems far behind. When a murder lands her friends firmly in the spotlight as prime suspects, Logan will have her work cut out for her in order to protect her friends and get to the bottom of things and uncover the culprit before the murderer can strike again. Wonder what Ms. Davisson has in store for us next?

Saratoga Roan by Bree M. Lewandowski is a second chance contemporary romance, with angst, drama, family issues/drama, heartache, new beginnings, discovery, and revelations- in a small town setting. Cassandra and Rhett have a past history that is coloured with heartache. But when Cassandra is forced to confront her past, she realises that she has never really gotten over her first love. Feeling it is time to take charge of the direction her life has taken, she returns with a hopeful heart. Rhett feels the weight of responsibility pressing down on his shoulders, he has little time left for anything else, let alone the person who delivered such a huge dose of pain into his life. With his own family drama and business taking up most of his focus, he definitely wasn’t prepared for a blast from the past. Will Rhett set aside his pain and pride and give love a second chance? Ye Gods! The Law Is An Ass! is the second book in the Donovan Trait series by Seelie Kay and is just as well-woven and intriguing as the first book. Seelie Kay sprinkled a little more intensity over this story but made sure to weave in some light-hearted humour to break up the tension. This is a fun paranormal romantic suspense- with vampires, lawyers, vampire politics and law, agendas, uncovering the truth, and more. And as with the first book, Ye Gods! has an original take on vampire lore. In Book One, we meet Donovan Trait (a highly respected lawyer- who is also a vampire over 300 years-old) and his lady love, Judge Shirley Magnusen. They had quite the ‘adventure’ in the first book, which also resulted in Shirley being ‘turned’. Because of this and strict vampire laws, the couple made an agreement with the Vampire Coalition (the Vampire governing body) that would allow the vampire scientists to ‘monitor’ the conception and birth of their children. But things don’t quite go according to plan- which forces Donovan and Shirley to flee. Will they find a solution to their precarious position before the powers that be force their own agenda? If you loved the first book, then you really will want to grab a copy and dive in. If you have yet to read ‘First, We Kill All the Lawyers’, then I highly recommend that you do before starting on this story. There is important backstory, character details, and key information contained in Book One, which will definitely enhance your reading experience of this book. I can’t wait to continue this series- bring on the next book!

This was a first time read author for me, I must say it was more than enjoyed. I realized there was a first so I will be for sure going back to read the prior in the series. There was so much to love in this novel, I felt my emotions were all over the place, all in all, it was good ways as I was experiencing what the characters had felt and were going through. I was completely sucked in with no regrets!
One of the aspects I loved dearly about this book, was that it really got you thinking on life. For Pandora, she had a good modeling career and had a lot of things she wanted dropping at her feet. Is fame and fortune really what makes the heart happy though? I found that was what she was thinking about a lot. And how it led her to meet Jonas. Who was something not of her life style, but something more that could make her heart feel more real and full without all the glamour associated with her current life.
Pandora and Jonas was no match made in Heaven, but to me something even better and stronger that in my reader’s opinion. She was a rich person who came back down to Earth for an escape, as she was not all that happy. Jonas was a bartender who knew things on life and got though life well being him. i thought both sides of their stories were a great connection of chemistry between the two of them. As things progressed, drama and I mean a lot had happened, at least in my perspective. Heart break and sadness comes with that and perhaps even a chance for both characters to find home in the least unexpected way? Perhaps running from thing wasn’t the way to go, but perhaps it would be a road to lead you home? The book was an amazing read and I loved it so much, I did not want it to end in all honesty!
The author knew how to tug at one’s heart strings for sure and I loved all the events and things that happened in the book. It all developed the story and made the plot what it was, which was amazing and heartfelt. It was a very wonderful book that as I said made me reflect on things with life, and it is a book I highly recommend to anyone to read! Its one that yo will end with a smile, and be happy you read it!

Dating The It Guy Krysten Lindsay Hager ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ This is a full length novel. Great for teens dealing with loss. High School is hard enough, with homework, boyfriends and besties. Then the worst is the loss of a grandparent, well really any loss. This is one of the best books I have read, dealing with teens in mind. Emme is close to her grandparents, and is dating the popular Brendon Agretti all while going to high school. When Emme’s grandmother falls ill, she finds herself trying to keep everything normal. Which proves hard as her grandfather is also in poor health, and seems lost. Also dating Brendon has its challenges. Read and find out how Emme deals with such trying times.
Krysten Lindsay Hager really pulled out all the stops with this coming of age story. I wish this was available when I was in school. I love Emme and her friends. Dealing with high school and home life is hard enough. This quick reading page turner holds so many questions that can be answered while reading this story. I recommend this to teens and adults dealing with losing a family member. Well Done Krysten Lindsay Hager! Well Done! ! !

I fell in love with this book provided from page one! The author really knew how to get the readers interested in what they were reading and setting up the man story line. I kept on reading and I must say, I really got into this one, it was very well written!
I loved the author’s concept behind everything in the words that came from the pages here. Logan was a wonderful character. She was a very relatable, but also someone that stood out from the rest. I loved how she wanted only the truth, but yet to protect everyone around her. In honesty, would her need for the truth be her downfall? That was something I constantly asked myself as I was reading. For me, what I also loved was what I thought could be a suspected truth to what was going on, well I was actually way off. There was a lot of things going on and and it really kept me on the edge my my seat!
I really loved the work of this wonderful author. They did a wonderful hob and wrote a very captivating story. I truly had a lot of fun and enjoyment while reading and I look forward to reading more from them in the future. If your a die hard mystery or crime fan, I highly recommend you picking this book up!

A really good start to what seems like a good series is coming! Vulture was a character for like a lot of this book plain crazy but lets be honest that’s how we like them. Danielle cried an awful lot but once that was over it wasn’t too bad. I can’t wait to see where this series is going.

When silence screams (The Arthur Nakai Mysteries Book 3) was my first book by Mark Edward Langley and I plan to go back and read the first two. It took about 18-20% of the story to really get into, but it was worth sticking with it. Private Investigator Arthur Nakai sets out to find a missing girl named April, but what he uncovers is so much more than he expected. He is brought into an underground world of terror. The authors writing style for the most part flows very well. A couple of things that hurt with the flow were his odd use of using the first and last name of some characters some times and other times not ie. He often says Glenda James or April Manygoats and it became slightly repetitive. I also noticed he did this mainly with just the female character.
One of the things that I enjoyed most were the small history lessons the author gave involving Native American history. He did a brilliant job of incorporating them into the story in a smooth way that enhanced the story instead of taking away from the story. I found myself very enthralled with each aspect. This story does have some graphic scenes involving being held captive so could be a trigger for some. Overall, this is a story I enjoyed and an author I will add to my must read list. If you like suspense/mystery books with a strong male lead who at the root is a good guy you will love this book.

I cant even put into words how much I loved this book. Im afraid of even giving a little bit away so I will just praise the author here on her amazing talent to write an amazing story. I have read a lot by this author and this by far is way up in my top 5 (and thats saying a lot). I couldnt read this fast enough as I wanted to know what happened next.

Nicole Flockton is at it again with the second book in the Bunya Junction Series! Runaway to the Outback, is Jonas and Pandora’s story, which I actually enjoyed more than Ryan and Sindy’s. The character development continued to wow me as the story progressed, especially for Pandora. Jonas being a typical stubborn male frustrates me at times, though his stubbornness reminded me of how blind and stubborn my husband once was as well. The more I dig deeper into this series the more I fall in love with the small town atmosphere the author created. I also like how she sets up the next book with the last few paragraphs of the epilogue, which she also did in Home to the Outback. I’m excited and can’t wait till Scott’s story comes out, aka book 3!!! By the time I finish each book I’m ready to pack up my suburban life for small town living. Being that the author has written in a way for me to emotionally get involved and reevaluate life as a whole, makes me believe she has a wonderful gift. I look forward to reading more by her in the future and not just books she’s written in the Bunya Junction Series.

Dating the It Guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager is a Young Adult Romance that had my emotions going all over the place. At times I was reading through tearing eyes to being angry at situations. I’ve read several books by this author and is definitely going on my favorites list. This is a story about Emme and Brendon. Emme is a girl who was cheated on by her ex and now is very insecure. Her insecurities get the best of her. Can she get over them in order to have a relationship? Brendon is the son of a famous political person and is in with all the popular kids. He is the guy everyone wants to be he’s the it guy. His ex-girlfriend is trying really hard to get him back. Can Brendon and Emme relationship last? Find out what happens next in this must read. I look forward to reading more from this Author.

I enjoyed this suspenseful story. This is my first book by this author which I look forward to seeing what is next for her. I found this book to be well written with characters that not only bring the story to life but also kept it engaging. I enjoyed being pulled into the story by the author’s use of details. The twists and turns kept me guessing and wanting to see what would happen next. The characters are not only relatable but how they contributed to the growth of the plot throughout the story. This is a story about Lauren and how she takes a new courtroom job that turns deadly. She is running from the past and goes home to take on this new job. Problem is now, she is faced with being accused of killing the judge. What happens next you will want to read this book. You don’t want to miss this book, it is a great story full of action and hard to put down. I highly recommend this book.

I enjoyed this romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her yet. One of the things I enjoy most about this author is her ability to pull me into her stories from the beginning. This book is no different. This is a well written story where the author used details to make the story realistic as well as kept it engaging. I had a hard time putting this book down. The characters made the story fun and entertaining to read. They also brought the steam to a new level. I enjoyed this growth and chemistry. They are connectable, strong and just made the story for us. After a few steamy nights and an agreement just to keep things no strings attached. Will things change for these two characters and they get more than the no strings attached? I really enjoyed the growth of the plot throughout the story. A great story that I highly recommend.
This book was a great romance. I was pulled into the amazing story from the first page. I couldn’t put it down once I started. I enjoyed the realness that Flockton put into this book. I felt like I had been there before. I highly suggest.

Dating the It guy by Krysten Lindsay Hager a fantastic four-star read. I adore this author and the way they make me feel like a teenage again. Emme was such a good character, she is so easy to understand and feel for. The rest of the characters were great, Brendon was a surprise for me and he really stood up. It was Emme’s grandparents that really got me, maybe as my own Nanna isn’t well right now, I don’t know. This was a great story and a great author that you shouldn’t miss.

Runaway to the Outback is book two in the Welcome to Bunya Junction series by Nicole Flockton. I honestly cannot get enough of this author and her work. Reading about a home grown love story really warms this Aussie’s heart. The total escape into this story was just what was needed and Nicole Flockton continues to impress and amaze me with the irresistible characters and their inspiring and adventurous journey. This series is fast becoming one of my favourite, and I absorb everything about it in one sitting.
Pandora and Jonas are hit by cupid and their story was unique and full of drama and attraction. Uncertainty and settling into a new town was quite the adjustment for Pandora. The sensual attraction between the two main characters was riveting. I just loved all aspects of this romance. It was so easy to escape with them and travel this intense and bumpy road called attraction. The writing was beautiful and the execution impeccable. A moving and sizzling story that rated high on my all time favourite stories. Amazing. 5 stars.

No Way Out by Amy McKinley was an intriguingly, intense book. The story of Max and LIliana is intense and full of action. The story starts with Max blowing up Brambilla’s warehouse like it is nothing. BAM! That is just the opening move in a story full of danger, thrills, action, drugs, cartels, bad deals, and any other bad things you can think of. Brambilla thinks nothing of using his daughter, Liliana, in these deals. She’s just property to him. Maxi is out to rescue her. Keep in mind, there may be more than the eye can see. The story is so good that it was like reading a mafia film on paper. I could picture this in my head (that’s the sign of a good book.) The characters were so well written. Your sleaze-bags like Raphe, etc. left you feeling like you needed a shower just after reading about them. This book was so very good. The action just continues until the very end. I cannot wait to read Book 2 in this series. I highly recommend you read this one.
