My Soul to Give (A Demon’s Love Book 1) by M. A. Fréchette – Review by Lorrene Huisman

My Soul to Give (A Demon's Love #1)My Soul to Give by Magali A. Fréchette
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This my dear friends, was a paranormal like no other. It was more than different than most, but defiantly in a good way! I expected a paranormal with some drama. I got more than that, I literally and my soul invested myself in this novel. I couldn’t believe how much I was into this, and the emotions and and the darkness it gave off and dealt within these pages as well!

For me this book had it all, and needless to say I need to read the next in the series. I lust for more to come in the story line. I did not expect the book to had as much as moments that were identified as more along the lines of horror as well, and the darkness the booked allowed to prevail. I was more than invested in this book. the characters, as well as they were complex, they were characters that stood out from a lot of past characters I have recently read about. Mekaisto and Celina were two characters whom were so unique they were so well made they leapt off the pagers as very real for me.

This book truly gave me everything. It gave me emotions, suspense, hot and steamy moments of pure lustful seduction, horror, paranormal, and the want to know more and more and for ties to come together not knowing if those answers I wanted so bad were ones I should seek. The book was beyond amazing, and I was truly star struck on how good it was! It is a diamond in the rough, no denial there!

The author is extremely skilled, and knows exactly what they were doing when they wrote this amazing book. The story was spell binding on its own, but throw the main characters and all the side objectives to the pot, you literally have a novel you want to sell your own soul to! I mean I certainly would have been more than happy to do that! The book is simply a must read, and it truly has that rate quality that separates itself from other paranormal books. Its something you must read, literally just read it!

Oh, this author – he definitely knows how to get the pulse racing in his sexy short reads! I absolutely love reading his books! They might only be short reads but my gosh he doesn’t miss anything.

Tequila Sunset may be a slight taboo story but I still liked it – got to be honest he was a very attractive and sexy older guy and the passion between them was certainly off the charts! He definitely brought Cass out of herself that’s for sure!! I loved the setting for this story too! Sounded relaxing and idyllic!

Beneath the Sheets was a second chance romance read and I really enjoyed this one too. This story had more of a build-up than the first one so I enjoyed getting to know the characters and seeing their relationship develop. I loved Alex and Sarah – they definitely had chemistry. They were cute together!

Both stories were brilliant reads and I 100% recommend this box set! As always, I look forward to more from this author again in the future!

Drew: Book One of the Perfectly Independent Series by Amanda Shelley – Review by Katie Matthews

Drew (Perfectly Independent, #1)Drew by Amanda Shelley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book that I have read by this author and what a wonderful book it was! I really liked the plot and the characters. I think I fell in love with Drew pretty much straight away, I definitely had a preconceived idea of what he was going to be like but I was wrong. He was just so lovely and mature. Abby was lovely too; they were both not what each other expected and I loved watching them grow over the story. I like that their relationship wasn’t rushed, it was perfect for them. I really like YA reads as they are usually so easy to read and this one definitely was. I would highly recommend this book and I cannot wait to read more from this author again in the future.

This was one of those cute romance reads that leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy inside acter you’ve finished reading it. I loved how easy it was to read and how relatable the characters were. The author had the perfect pace and flow for the story. I think it only took me a few hours to devour as it was such a nice story to read. I really liked Brody and Willabelle, I found that they had such a genuine connection between them and I was definitely rooting for them the whole way through the story. Whilst this might have been a quick read it certainly wasn’t missing anything for me. I loved it, I can’t wait to read more from this author again and I would highly recommend it as a lovely easy to read romance story!

Journeys through TimeSpace is amazing! This is book 2 in the series and I am so happy that I read it. James took the characters from the first book and gave us more of their stories, there’s more space and time traveling. I just couldn’t stop reading it. I really hope he comes out with a third installment in the series and if not I can’t wait to read what he writes about next!

After loving the first book in this series I was really looking forward to getting started on Caine and it didn’t disappoint. It was everything I was expecting – dark, exciting and very sexy! I loved Caine and Emery’s story – brilliant from the very first page until the very last, I wasn’t actually sure I was going to like Emery, it did take me a whole to warm up to her but I enjoyed seeing her evolve as the story progressed and seeing how the relationship between her and Caine changed also.
This is definitely a recommended read from me!

I really enjoyed this story, it was easy to read, had a nice pace and flow and great characters too. I love sports romance stories so this one was right up my street! I loved Ray! I really felt for him and everything he went through – boxing was so important to him. Alyssa was such a lovely character too; she had been through a lot as well. I think as soon as these two came together again I could tell there was something. They had a genuine and real connection and a lot of chemistry too!
Overall, I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to other readers.

The Boss Prince (It’s Raining Royals) by Alix Nichols – Review by Bethany Rollins

The Boss Prince (It's Raining Royals, #1)The Boss Prince by Alix Nichols
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

If you are looking for a romance with adventure, I would recommend The Boss Prince by Alix Nichols. I read this in just a couple of hours and it kept me engaged the entire time. Just fired from her ex’s business, Lucie is down on her luck until she is hired on the spot by a company secretly operated by a secret royal family and her main mission, that she is unaware of, is to find the first piece of a puzzle to save the royal kingdom. Her boss, unbeknownst to her, is Prince Max Delaroche. These two set out on a journey to find a key, but along the way they find and discover their love for each other. This is a fun book with bits of humor mixed along the way. I really enjoyed Lucie’s character. Looking forward to the upcoming books in this series for a quick read.

Wow! Just Wow! This story is amazing! The suspense in here is incredible! I lived how it kept me guessing! I was really drawn into the life of these characters! I loved some, disliked others and was extremely suspicious of a few. This has a large cast and I just couldn’t get enough of them. Then there is that attraction between Max and Liliana…Man I could feel that coming off the pages!

One of the BEST books I have read by this author! She wields her pen/computer perfectly drawing the reader into the plight of Liliana. Then adds Max and she lets us know a bit about him then makes us adore him for what he is attempting. I am so happy I read this and eagerly look forward to the next!

Home to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction Book 1) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Lorrene Huisman

Home to the Outback (Welcome to Bunya Junction, #1)Home to the Outback by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book brought a lot of emotion on for me, but in a good way, it really was enjoyable in more ways than one. I really connected with the characters, especially as I went through learning about them and the events that made them who they were to where we are at this point in time. It was hauntingly beautiful at times, and the story itself brought on more emotions for me, but in a good way I would say.

Sindy and Ryan were two souls, who basically have their life’s set, and the choices they made defined them. In truth though, were these choices ones provided by longings of their heart or just what their brains may have have thought best suited for them? Through a wake of sadness, of a character that had passed, that really helped define Sidney and Ryan, brings them both together, there may be some unexpected occurrences brought on by this. They inherit a late doctors business. To one character he was their true father figure, and to the other they were a employer as well as a good friend, The pain and loss brings on a lot of emotions and not understanding how Sidney and Ryan came to gain this business.

Through their time together, there were moments of where they seemed to be fed up with one another. Other times, they opened up and about their pain and suffering and where they came from, and I felt for them both separately . If there was not enough going on, Sidney has to deal with her past again in a bad way, trough this lets say suspenseful time, it brought these two souls together and they really for one another. Realized its not just chemistry that this perhaps could be the best thing that ever happened to them, only if they allowed it and fought for it. Sometimes you get called home, not because you think tis a good idea, because sometimes the best things can be found where your life first began. Watching them grow closer was beautiful in many ways, and I loved how the story went for sure!

The book made me feel many thing as I said. The warm soothing feelings it brought, as well as the tear falling moments. All in all, we can not deny this is an wonderful book to read, and its a book I will defiantly will re read again. I would want to revisit this town and characters again with no doubt.. The author did an wonderful job of the character development and all the surrounding components. Really enjoyed reading! This is one, I think all of us need to read, its not one to be missed and that’s a fact.

A Natural Passion by Tammy Mannersly – Review by Angela Hayes

A Natural PassionA Natural Passion by Tammy Mannersly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A Natural Passion is a sweet contemporary romance by Tammy Mannersly. I have really enjoyed Ms. Mannersly’s previous books, so when I saw this book had released it was a given that I would one-click a copy and dive in.
This book kind of had a love-triangle vibe going on- but with Ms. Mannersly’s own unique spin. Dylan O’Day is a marine Biologist who has developed feelings for the new intern, Kyra Stone. But he keeps his feelings to himself, and Kyra develops a crush on another co-worker. Then add in some poachers who bring tension, danger, and drama to the mix- and we get a very interesting story, with just a bit of a twist. Will Dylan tell Kyra how he feels before she gives her heart to another? You really should read all the intriguing details for yourself.
Looking forward to seeing what Ms. Mannersly does next…

Thank you, Tammy Mannersly!

Gone Country (Gone in Love) by Katrina Marie – Review by Angela Hayes

Gone Country (Cousins Gone #1)Gone Country by Katrina Marie
My rating: 3 of 5 stars

3 Stars

Gone Country is the first book in the Cousins Gone series by Katrina Marie. This is the first book that I have read from this author so I really didn’t know what to expect going in. What I found between the covers was a cute and very light read.
Diehard city girl meets down to earth country boy. This is a tried and true recipe that I have read many times before and have enjoyed- especially as an in-between my heavier reads book-snack. I think this story held a lot of potential, but failed to deliver, for me. Like I said, it is a cute and light read- there really wasn’t anything there that really grabbed my attention to make it stand out from the crowd. The characters were ok, but they frustrated me so much, I really had trouble connecting with them. But I feel that with some tweaking like fixing the grammar issues, keeping the pace from lagging and dragging, having more detailed descriptions, with more development of the story and characters, and a little extra (realistic and unmanufactured) drama or conflict would definitely go a long way to making this book more memorable… but again that is just me. Please don’t let me put you off reading this story if you like a lighter read- I just prefer my stories with a bit more ‘meat’.
I am curious to read some of Katrina Marie’s other work to see what else she can do and if this is just a one-off issue, for me. I will probably go back and read this book again in a few weeks to see if I still feel the same way, or if maybe I was just having an ‘off’ reading day with this.

Thank you, Katrina Marie!

Notebook Mysteries – Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Char Wahtomy-Alba

I had fun reading this book about a strong willed young woman. The character didn’t let herself be bullied or get discouraged when being told no. Emma was a very likeable character and a nice refreshing heroine of sorts doing things that may have certainly been punishable during the time period this book is set in. When Emma kept getting rejection after rejection when applying to business school I felt her frustration through the pages. Having been born in the 20th century with all the rights we as women have I couldn’t imagine growing up in the time this book is set. I do highly recommend this book for anyone that likes to get lost in another world for a while.

I wouldn’t read this book without reading Talisman’s first book in this series due to the fact that this book leaves off nearly at a perfect pace from where the first book ended. It combines the Journey of three friends through time and space encountering a number of mysteries that shake the foundations of a number of civilizations that the friends weave their way into to defend civilizations from impending doom. The question is can they make it in time? This second book lets us dive further into the backgrounds of each character giving more depth. I can’t wait for another book such as this to be released by Talisman. Turn of a century so to speak battle to get ready for? Whose going to win?

This book is a follow-up to Boy on Hold. Its after 10 years when Tyler was released from prison and starts reacclimating into life in a cabin that isn’t rented out in a hotel purchased by Tylers mom Marcella and his stepfather Bernie. Hen is involved and works at the hotel. Things get disrupted when Marcella is attacked, and the suspect is only Tyler especially when he came running out trying to explain what he saw and it’s mistaken for his confession. Who truly did this? Will they find out or will Tyler be locked up forever? This book can be read as a standalone, but I find having the history to go with it is great as well.

This book just blew me away honestly. From the trips Hen’s brother was constantly on and having to the bad egg vibe all the way down to the horrible gut wrenching dread the followed you through the book. I thought that it would be interesting, but I didn’t think the author would be able to captivate me in the way that I was captivated. Hen’s life and his second mother was ripped away from him, as well as his brother at what cost? Who would do a terrible thing and why? Care to journey down this path with me and read this heart wrenching story? Don’t put it down for too long, Hen is waiting.

This book was amazing! I loved book 1, but book 2 really pulled me in!! The character development and the storyline advanced further in book 2, and it really captured my attention with the imagination and detail. You truly feel as one with each character, and can easily imagine yourself there. As we reunite with the characters from book 1 we become privy to their dedication for their beliefs and their different worlds. As the story progresses we are able to see more about each character and more in-depth views of the multiverse, and how everything connects. James Talisman is very talented and he is one of the reasons I am venturing out to read more Sci-Fi books.

Linda Burson, a native of Pennsylvania, but long time Connecticut resident, has been writing ever since she was given a writing assignment in school, at the age of eight. Later, as a teenager, she started out writing memoirs and attempted several nonfiction pieces.

After attending college studying English, Psychology, and Business Law, Linda worked in positions where she wrote and edited papers for others. She spent time pursuing other interests and traveling. Much of Linda’s free time was spent reading mysteries, romance, and women’s contemporary fiction novels.

After several attempts at writing nonfiction, but having life get in the way, she put her passion on hold again. She gave up writing to focus on raising her daughters, being a wife, running her own businesses and taking care of her dog, a Lhasa Apso named Nathan.

After a serious bout of breast cancer, Linda eventually closed her business after fifteen years. She decided it was time to attempt writing again. This time, however, with nothing to distract her, she decided on tackling fiction, a contemporary, commercial romance with a dark edge.

On January 1, 2013, she sat down with her laptop and started writing the first chapter. After a few more chapters, she realized the story wasn’t near complete. Before she was aware of it, her idea of a single book turned into a trilogy, which turned into a much longer series called the MARCY SERIES. There are a total of thirteen books in the series.

When asked about inspiration, Linda has this to say: “Nobody really inspired me to write, but I do remember my mother and father always saying ‘anything you put your mind to you can accomplish. Don’t ever let anyone tell you, you can’t do something.’ Having the support and encouragement of my family is also important.”

Linda has also published a standalone murder mystery novel entitled, Murder Among Friends, a romantic suspense novel called, The Colors of my Life, and a short story as a part of a five-story anthology with other authors called Where There’s Murder, There’s Mystery. Her story is entitled, Lies Aren’t Forever. Another Romantic suspense called The Kidnapping is due out in August 2021.

Caught by HimCaught by Him by Tammy Mannersly
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a wonderful, though short, story. I was ready to dive right in and instantly fell in love with the meeting of the two MCs. It is swoon-worthy at times, downright frustrating at times, and overall was a great quick read. Tammy did a great job with making you feel things for the characters – even making them feel like real people that deserve real feelings! I only wish that it was longer – as I would have loved more detail. Some parts felt a bit rushed and the story ended far too quickly for my liking. I will definitely be reading more by this author and if you have the time for a quick, drama-filled, and sweet romance story, definitely pick this one up!

I give Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins, 4 stars.

The concept and time period of this book are what caught my interest. The author portrays such an interesting plot and it is obvious that she had done her research. There is such detail that you feel like you are right there along with Emma. The cases she pursues are varied and interesting. You can tell she really wants to help people. Not to mention all of the other things she does to help others. She is such a great main character. Then there are her friends and family. Each one one is different and brings their own unique perspective. They make this story even better. The many things happening throughout the book kept me intrigued and engrossed in this book until the end, where I was pleasantly surprised by how many times the author kept me guessing. That is what a good mystery book should do.

This is a pleasant historical mystery featuring a young woman with violence mention, but no gory detail. I recommend this book to take a step back in time with a wonderful young female detective ahead of her time.

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Desiree Ottinger

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and PossibilitiesNotebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is my first time reading this author. I enjoyed the story and the characters. Ms. Mullins did an excellent job of presenting realistic characters and how they might interact in that time. I feel like she also did an excellent job letting the reader know the timeline of the backstory and how it fit in with the “present day” of Chicago in 1883.

There were multiple mysteries throughout the book that drew you in to the characters and how they worked together using each other’s strengths to solve the crimes. There were some surprises that I wasn’t expecting, too. Definitely looking forward to the next book and seeing what new mysteries they will have to solve!

Swindler’s Revenge (Karina Cardinal Mysteries Book 5) by Ellen Butler – Review by Michelle Austin

Swindler's RevengeSwindler’s Revenge by Ellen Butler
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I was pulled right in as soon as I started.
Karina’s Saturday morning is interrupted when the FBI knocks on her door. She is shocked to hear they are looking for her ex. Loved Karina and her sassiness no matter who she was talking to while they searched her home.

Knowing how straight laced her ex is she doesn’t believe what they were telling her. She needs to find him before they do to help him find the truth behind what is going on.

Will Karina be able to help Mike clear his name? How far is she willing to go?

Overall this was a thrilling page turning read. I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what came next. The secondary characters added a great element to the story. The author does a great job of pulling you in with her writing. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, book 1) by Amy McKinley – Review by Lorralei Hoerner

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This book was so FANTASTIC! I never hesitate to one click a book from Author Amy McKinley and get totally pulled in. This book had me hooked right from the beginning. I loved how the author has a breakdown on the different mafia families to start. Matt, better know as Max Caruso, is trying to get back what is owed to him. He will stop at nothing to achieve that. Liliana is the daughter of a Benito Brambilla, another high power mafia boss. Max disguises himself to work for Benito, and the story unfolds to rescuing Liliana from her father. There is a story behind this, and I do not want to include any spoilers. When the plans start unfolding with Max rescuing Liliana and him telling her the truth about her family, I was at the edge of my seat!! The planning down to the every minute detail!! This book is just totally worth the read. If I could give more then 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I would!!

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins – Review by Rachel Moss

Notebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and PossibilitiesNotebook Mysteries ~ Decisions and Possibilities by Kimberly Mullins
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Notebook Mysteries: Decisions & Possibilities was a good read. I fell in love with this cover when I first saw it and was automatically drawn in from the beautiful characters and design on the front. I was expecting this amazing mystery story with a female lead. I got the female lead, and this book had a myriad compilation of women empowerment scenes, especially for the story being set in the late 1800s. I enjoyed that aspect but for some reason I wasn’t able to be fully drawn into this story like I wanted to. It just felt off to me. I’m not sure if it was an off reading day but it just didn’t vibe well with me. I enjoyed reading it I just kept getting distracted and the storyline just couldn’t hold my attention. Maybe the next one will be better for me!
