Naughty & Nice (Spicetopia #4) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Sheri Schrader

Naughty & NiceNaughty & Nice by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Naughty & Nice by Phoebe Alexander is the fourth book in the Spicetopia series. This book can be enjoyed as a standalone but enjoyed more when reading in order. Natalie has been hired by Spicetopia to plan the holiday wedding of the owner but encounters Micah who has been hired to officiate. Natalie and Micah are in two different thought modes concerning hookups and more. Can the two of them come to a compromise and give in to the passion growing between them?
This is another fun and steamy read from the Spicetopia series. The characters are fun and I like each character is different. This one is funny because the two main characters seem very different when introduced. I look forward to reading more in this series in the future.

Hidden Obsession (An Alliance Agency Novel #2)Hidden Obsession by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hidden Obsession by India Kells and Maddie Wade is the second book in An Alliance Agency novel series. This can be read as a standalone but better enjoyed being read in order. This book features Cleo and Mason. Cleo has a stalker and Mason has been called in to protect her. The sparks are flying and it is more than romance and danger. This is a fairly quick read and kept me interested from beginning to end. I really enjoy book from these authors and it is great to see them team up again. I look forward to what is to come next from both of them.

Burning Greed (DI Tanya Miller Investigates Book 2) by Diane M Dickson – Review by Sheri Schrader

Burning Greed (DI Tanya Miller investigates Book 2)Burning Greed by Diane M. Dickson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

BURNING GREED: a gripping murder mystery, full of suspense by Diane Dickson is the second book in the DI Tanya Miller Investigates series. I had not read the first book and enjoyed this one immensely. This can be read as a standalone but I’m sure it is even better having the first book already read. Tanya Miller is up to her eyeballs with two cases. First is an arson investigation bringing out the worst about people. The second is her missing niece her sister is frantic to find. Can Tanya keep it all together and solve both cases?
I really enjoyed the story and the characters. The story kept me reading because I had to know what was going on between both cases. I also enjoyed Tanya and the secondary characters. This is a good read that kept me up late one night reading. I look forward to catching more from this author in the future.

Misplaced (Joined Book Two) by Mara Gan – Review by Sheri Schrader

Misplaced: Joined: Book TwoMisplaced: Joined: Book Two by Mara Gan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Misplaced: Joined by Mara Gan is the second book in the Joined series. This one doesn’t seem like a direct continuation of the first book but there are connections revealed. Meda has found herself on the beach with no memory of anything other than her name. She has the special skill of healing people she finds out quickly. Who is Meda and how does she fit in?
This book is a sci-fi, fantasy, with romance. There is action, twists, and lots of intrigue and danger. I enjoyed seeing how Meda was going to change and learn who she is in this book. I am curious where this author will go next with the story.

Spicetopia Boxed Set (Books 1-4) by Phoebe Alexander – Review by Sheri Schrader

Spicetopia Boxed Set (Books 1-4)Spicetopia Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Spicetopia Boxed Set by Phoebe Alexander is the set of 4 books that make up this series. Always love when I can get the entire series in one go. These can be read as a standalone but each book has characters in common. I have read book 2 and 3 in the series and am excited now to get to read 1 and 4.
Virtue & Vice by Phoebe Alexander is the second book in the Spicetopia series. This can be read as a standalone but I recommend reading them in order. Moon and Katja are part of a team bringing adult’s everywhere a place to play with a bit nice with much naughty. It was also cool to see the story from their view since the first book was from the view of Cy and Jolie. As always, I enjoyed Phoebe Alexander’s writing and how each of her characters are distinct individuals. This is a fun, quick read and left me wanting the next book in the series. I can’t wait to see where this continuing story leads.
Fire & Ice by Phoebe Alexander is the third book in the Spicetopia series. Right off this is not for teens due to sexual content! Otherwise, this is a fun series set at an adult theme park. These do not need to be read in order but I have enjoyed the series in the order of the books. Neve Romano, Director of Security, and Enya Moore, Director of Public Relations are called to work together to save the park from sabotage. The only problem is she is fire and he is ice. When they start working together there is some steam started between them.
I enjoy Phoebe Alexander’s books and this is another to the growing list I have enjoyed. If you like a good read with a bit of suspense, some spicy parts this is the book for you.

Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours Book 2) by Carrie Pulkinen – Review by Sheri Schrader

Love & Omens (Crescent City Ghost Tours, #2)Love & Omens by Carrie Pulkinen
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love & Omens by Carrie Pulkinen is the second book in the Crescent City Ghost Tours series. I recommend reading the first book in the series before this one because there are some recurring characters and background which help with this one. Sydney Park works for Crescent City Ghost Tours and there are some changes coming including new tours. The new tour is ending at the Museum of the Macabre and is owned by someone from her past, Blake Beaumont.
This is a fun series set in the alluring and mysterious New Orleans. The setting adds to the story and helps to keep everything a bit spooky. I really liked Sydney in the first book and am glad she is the focus of this book. She is a strong character and knows what’s up. Blake is great and he is a nice offset from Sydney. The two work well together and I wanted everything to come together for them. I look forward to reading more from this author in the future and seeing more of the Crescent City Ghost Tours.

Vampire StateVampire State by Alexander Charalambides
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vampire State by Alexander Charalambides intrigued me from just seeing the cover. I really enjoy stories that are vampire-related and couldn’t wait to dig into this one. This is a thrilling ride to go on. Rowena has a choice she has to make concerning accepting the Gift and becoming a Pale. Will she take the jump or not? This is interesting because it is set a bit differently amongst a political thriller with some romance. I was not disappointed in this read and it was worth digging into this book. The characters are well written and the plot is pretty good. I look forward to seeing what Alexander Charalambides writes next.

Knight Watch (An Alliance Agency Novel #1)Knight Watch by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Knight Watch by Maddie Wade and India Kells is the first book in the new series An Alliance Agency Novel. The story does not disappoint. It is full of action, suspense, with some romance thrown in. I always am leary when two authors join up for a book because at times it can get disjointed and you can see where one picks up and the other ends. These two authors work well together and the story is seamless. I have enjoyed other books by both of them in the past and was excited to see them working together again. The characters are well written and have some depth to them which allows the story to develop. I enjoyed learning about Kingsley Knight and Sydney Rutherford. They made a good pair in various ways. I look forward to more in this series and from each of these authors individually.

Revive (Rewind #3)Revive by Rowan Shaw
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Revive by Rowan Shaw is the third book in the Rewind series. This can be read as a standalone and fully enjoyed, but the other books are good also. Brandon is a recently divorced father who is grappling with his sexuality. Patrick is single and does not think he is relationship material. What happens when the two hook up one evening? This is a good story dealing not only with a fledgling relationship. I also liked Brandon is dealing with his bisexuality and the prejudice he comes across. This is dealing with realistic topics and handles it well. I will be keeping an eye out for more books from Rowan Shaw in the future.

Ricochet by Kathryn Berla – Review by Sheri Schrader

RicochetRicochet by Kathryn Berla
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Ricochet by Kathryn Berla is an interesting YA read. This book is suitable and can be enjoyed by teens and older. There is a sci-fi feel with science, parallel universes, and multiple characters who are the same person. The author keeps everything understandable and with a good flow. Tati, Ana, Tatyana, and Tanya are all their own person with their own characteristics. Each reacts differently to the same situations. The catch is they must all come together in order to survive. I will not give information on the plot because there is nothing worse than getting the plot and spoilers while reading a review. Just know this is a fun read that I did not want to put down. It is well written and the story is thought out and easy to follow.

Chicken Scratch (The Sisters, Texas Mystery Series Book 1) by Becki Willis – Review by Sheri Schrader

Chicken Scratch (The Sisters, Texas #1)Chicken Scratch by Becki Willis
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Chicken Scratch by Becki Willis is the first book in The Sisters, Texas Mystery series. This is a cozy, fun mystery to read. What happens when you have gotten used to the big city and have to move back to small-town life with your children. Madison finds herself in this position and tries to make the most of it. When she starts her new job she finds a dead body. Now to find the killer!
I enjoyed the characters and how they were developed to be individuals. Each plays a part in the story. I also like the small-town setting. It takes it from being a gritty, detective novel to something a bit lighter. I will definitely be picking up the next book to see where the story goes.

From The Ashes (Ashes to Ashes, #3)From The Ashes by Rowena Holloway
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

From the Ashes – a gripping psychological thriller by Rowena Holloway is the third book in the Ashes to Ashes series. I do not recommend trying to read as a standalone book. This series and the characters have grown with each book. This is a gripping thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. When I thought it was winding down something else would be discovered or happen. I really enjoy the character Charlotte and have enjoyed reading about her and seeing her grow as a character. I will definitely be looking for more from this author in the future.

Hope by Seelie Kay is the fourth book in the Feisty Lawyers series. Hope can be a name or something someone believes in. In this book, Hope is a remarkable woman who has gone through special training in order to help those who can’t help themselves. Since this is the fourth book in the series there are some parts better understood after having read the other books but I believe this can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone book. I really enjoyed Hope’s story and tore through it in one sitting. This is a short book and you won’t want to put it down. There is action, intrigue, and some romance. I really enjoyed this escape from the everyday.

The Rise of House Valdis (House Valdis #1)The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Rise of House Valdis by Naomi Valkyrie is the first book in the House Valdis series. This is a new author for me so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I am delightfully surprised to have found a new author to keep an eye on. This story has a lot going on and I do not want to give anything away. Xenobia has a secret she has held onto for 7 years and it comes out when she has to save her friend Maggie. What will happen now that someone knows her secret?
The characters are really interesting and I like the otherworldly and paranormal elements. I also enjoy a story that leaves me wanting more of the characters and plot and that is what this author has done for me.

Hang On To Your Shirt Tails (Chasing Tails Book 2)Hang On To Your Shirt Tails by C.A. King
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Hang On to Your Shirt Tails by CA King is the second book in the Chasing Tails Series. I really recommend reading the first book in the series first because this picks up where the first story left off. Tails and Brodie are trying to get their lives back on track and make a safe place for their adopted children. Things are not always what they appear and they are led to a false sense of security. What happens when things start to erupt?
This story has it all and it is a very quick read. I did not want to put it down because I wanted to see where the story progressed. There is so much involved and I do not want to give anything away. Just know if you like fantasy, adventure, twists and turns, and interesting characters you will not be disappointed.

Beneath the Fallen City by Jamie A Waters is the first book in The Omni Towers series. I jumped right in and I am glad I did. This is a dystopian story with a science-fiction edge to it. Kayla is a survivor and tough to boot. When she becomes the hunted she has to team up with her enemy. I do not want to give more away because you need to read Kayla’s adventure to find out what happens. The writing is really well done and kept me reading from start to finish. I enjoyed the different characters and how they helped bring me into their world. I look forward to the next book in the series.

Elemental Fae Academy: Book One: A Reverse Harem Paranormal Romance by Lexi C. Foss and J.R. Thorn is the first book of three in this new series. Claire is dared to kiss a man at the bar. Little does she know this will set off a group of events beyond her control. She discovers she is not who she thought she was but a fae halfling. This story is not for a young teen but someone a bit more mature due to some sexual scenes. Also, this is a reverse harem so Claire is not at a loss for handsome, available men.
I enjoyed the story and wanted to know what happens next. The characters are interesting and the story wasn’t just a cookie cutter story. I look forward to where these authors go next in this series.

A Dark Sparrow Box Set - Books 1-3A Dark Sparrow Box Set – Books 1-3 by India Kells
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Dark Sparrow Box Set by India Kells consists of the three books in this series: Lost Bastard, Cold Bastard, and Wild Bastard. This is a really good series that I enjoyed. Cold Bastard by India Kells is the second book in the Dark Sparrow series. I was really looking forward to reading this after reading the first book and I was not disappointed. The story is about Zoe Somersby and Archer Blackwood. Zoe had been brought in to work for Archer as an undercover agent.
The characters are well written and allowed the story to flow. There was lots of suspense and mystery as well as a little romance. I really like this is a well thought out story and the characters are interesting people. Everyone is not always what one would assume. I look forward to reading the next book in the series to see where the story goes next.
Wild Bastard by India Kells is the third book in A Dark Sparrow series. This tells the story of Kai and Isabel. Kai is trying to take down his father’s business and in the process runs into his past. Isabel after breaking his heart in the past has become a strong woman who has a life and secrets of her own. Will the two find their happily ever after?
Like the other books in the series, this can be read as a standalone. I have enjoyed not only this one but the others as well. Characters overlap and it is nice to get Kai’s story. I enjoyed the characters and wanted to see everything work out for them. The problems they encounter are crazy at times but seem to bring them closer and in a better understanding of one another. I enjoyed this book and look forward to others from this author.
