I Still Hate You is a quite the sexy romp by Marie Skye. I always go into Marie Skye’s book thinking I know what to expect, and you would think that after all this time and so many books later that I would have learned my lesson- Marie Skye always pulls something new and original out of her pocket, as this book is everything I had hoped for, but also had unexpected developments that gave the story an extra element of interest. The only issue that I had with the book is that I wished it had been longer- only because I am greedy and wanted to immerse myself in the story longer.
I Still Hate You has many humorous touches, with funny banter, and witty sarcasm- plus some more emotive moments that had me fully investing in the characters and their situation, as well as the steamy encounters that Marie Skye does so well.
I really enjoyed meeting Perrie and Ash and following along for the ride.
I can’t wait to see what Marie Skye does next.

Thank you, Marie Skye!

At All (Adams Brothers, #3)At All by Mindy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is the 3rd book in the Adams Brother’s series.I loved all these stories. I love how the brothers are single and proud and all it takes is one woman to change that and change them for the better. In this book we follow the youngest brother Sebastian Adams.
With his two brother’s happily settled down and his mum due to remarry Sebastian realises just how lonely he is.

However when he makes an alcohol infused mistake that leads him to rehab he has to give up his old life style. That means no touring with his band, no drinking and no women.

He seems fine with that after all music is his passion and if no women means he can get back touring with his band then so be it.
That is until he meets Maelie.

Maelie is a teacher at the store where Sebastian is now working. After a bumpy start between them and a few arguments over noise their attraction becomes too much to bear.

One kiss is all it takes to turn Sebastian world upside down. Should he be entertaining entertaining idea of being with Maelie? How can a woman be more addictive to him that alcohol? Can he be the type of man to have a relationship with a women like his brothers do?

READ THIS BOOK!!! The first in a three book series, this book by far was the best of the bunch. I laughed, I cried, and I feel in love with Dom and Lula! The storyline was funny, heartfelt, romantic, and exciting. I was so invested in the story, I actually lost sleep staying up through the night to finish it, lol. If Mindy McKinley can recreate this story dynamic and flow with her writing on future books, I will definitely be reading more of her work going forward.

Book Review: At Last: Adams Brothers book one
Author: Mindy McKinley
FIVE STARS
Mindy McKinley is a new to me author and wow this book was great. The main characters Dom and Tallulah are so every day that you can picture them as being the friends down the street. Both school teachers, but both have other passions as well. Their story is full of energy and real life every day challenges that we all can and probably have or will come across some time in out lives. This story will leave you DESPERATE to find out what happens with the next brother.
The banter between Dom and Lu is fantastic. Witty come backs and flirty banter. This book flows so well that you will finish it in no time and want so much more.
Great book and I am heading into book two immediately!!

At Last (Adams Brothers, #1)At Last by Mindy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I thoroughly enjoyed this contemporary romance story and it’s a great start to a new series featuring the Adams brothers. In ‘At Last’ the storyline focuses on Dominic Adams, a High School history teacher who is popular with women and how a chance encounter at a jazz club with Lula Stanley makes him realise its Lula he wants a relationship with. Lula, a literature teacher lost her mother and now her grandmother’s health is failing and she’s never known her father as her mother tried hard to keep him a secret, so she decides to track him down. With her life in chaos it’s not the perfect time for romance but once she catches the eye of Dom she soon learns he is not going to give up and, he is also very sexy! As Dom and Lula try to solve her family’s mystery and track down her father the couple get closer to one another and realise it could be true love. This is an enjoyable and engaging read with some great characters and a plot which makes you keep turning the pages to find out how it’s going to end whilst hoping that Dom and Lula will get their happy ever after. The chemistry between the pair sizzles off the page and leads to some steamy scenes, however there is also plenty of romance and suspense all of which kept me hooked. As well as main characters, Dom and Lula we are also introduced to the other Adams brothers, Mason and Sebastian and I can’t wait to read their stories.

This is the tale of Lula Stanley and Dominic Adams, they are both teachers at East High School, however, this is where the similarities end, Dominic is known for his reputation with the ladies and his looks and charm are always turned on, but Lula is the odd one out with her mismatched style, big fluffy jumpers and eccentric choice in glasses, but all that changes with a chance encounter at a jazz club. Dominic has been encouraged to go out on a school night with his brother and as he is a jazz musician, they undoubtedly have to go to a jazz club, Dominic is more than a little reluctant with his current workload, but doesn’t want to pass up a chance to see some beautiful women singing. Lula is there with her best friend, coincidentally, also a teacher at the school and she is about to take centre stage in a slinky black satin dress and bright red lip, she croons her way through the performance and turns into a seductress all the while, Dominic doesn’t realise what has hit him until the announcer says her name at the end.

This starts off a chain of events for the two of them, he can’t believe that that the performer and the teacher are the same person, but as soon as he does, he cannot take his mind of her and she cannot believe that she is getting that kind of attention from him, just plain old boring Lula and the craziest part is that he is reciprocating it, especially after him seeing her land on her butt after slipping on the ice earlier that week! As Dominic decides that fate isn’t moving quick enough, he finds more ways to be around Lula and to explore their connection, including signing up to help her out at an after school club she runs, while all the time working on a personal project as well. Lula is also running a tight ship between visiting her Nan and then a shocking piece of information about her never present father leads her on a research binge of her own.

As the two become closer because of events in both of their families which are beyond their control and give in to their urges and the electricity whenever they are around each other, their research projects begin to intertwine as Dominic realises that Lula’s father may have a connection to what he is working on, but it turns out that not even their budding relationship is without its ups and downs when things take turns for the worse, but will they be able to consolidate their differences and acknowledge the future they may have together, or will the ghosts from their pasts keep them apart forever? This is a romance with plenty of steam to it, but still leaves you guessing how the mysteries within will play out and it will tug at your heartstrings along the way.

At Last (Adams Brothers Book 1) by Mindy McKinley is a book that really hooked me in, it is so good I even shed some tears at one point while reading. Dom & Lula’s romance is exciting but also so real I could imagine it happening to me or my friends. They definitely has some adjusting and arguments as any couple would as they learn to trust each other and figure out hoe to be there for one another. The relationship’s progression felt pretty natural and real. The supporting characters made the book extra special, especially Lula’s grandmother. I read it within a day and I’m looking forward to learning more about Dom’s brothers in the next books in the series.

At Last by Mindy McKinley a fantastic four-star read. This is number one in the Adams brother’s series and it was so close to being a five-star read. I honestly don’t know how I missed this author, as I swear, I had picked it up previously, but I can’t wait to sink my teeth into the next story, there is just something about the writing. Who knew teachers could be so hot and interesting!! I liked how the story unfolded and revealed itself, there were a couple of things I didn’t think flowed as well, but overall it’s a great story.

At Once, is book 2 in the Adams Brothers series by Mindy McKinley. The Adams brothers aren’t looking for love, that is until the one woman comes along. We already saw Dom find his love in Lula, now it’s Mason’s turn. Mason and Gabi are just too cute together, they have great chemistry, and the build-up to them getting together was full of sparks. Gabi’s ex was a little added suspense. Looking forward to reading Seb’s book next.

I love that this gave more than one story; it wasn’t just action, or murder mystery or love story. And no specific thing overpowered the other, if that makes sense.
I kept wanting to know who would be next & why, how? Would they figure it out? Would she kill her husband? For longest time I just wanted to know who the heck her husband was! All around good read.

This book surprised me, I’ll admit it. I’ve never read anything by this author and picked it up based off of the cover. Dom and Tallulah were such a cute couple, but not in the fluffy no substance kind. What I enjoyed most about this couple is that their relationship seemed very realistic. There is romance, but the parts that got me were the tender moments, the moments that they cared about each other, the simple brush of a hand, and the best was the banter. I am a woman who loves to banter and harass my man and get it back. There is romance and some HOT intimate scenes but they don’t drive the story or the book. There was substance to the words, to the story, there were surprises and even a little twist. They dealt with real world things and this book did a great job of showing how a couple thinks about those differently, but also how they find their strength in each other. The author’s writing style is very easy to read, the words just flowed, and she made you feel connected to each person even the secondary character like Amy, Mason, and Seb. If you enjoy contemporary romance that is about more than just doing it you will want to pick up this book. I already preordered the next book this morning!

This one surprises the heck out of me. There are many lovely, sensual and seductive moments in here. These two are OFF THE CHARTS! They are intoxicating! I couldn’t turn pages fast enough. Normally I favor the male character but in here they both rise to the top! I laughed, cried and got chills while taking this trip with these two. Completely Worth It!

Dominic is a great character. He has charisma and knows it. This man could meIt my heart/ears with his seductive words and kindness. I loved watching him change his tune about Lula and relationships. Lula is a dream! I can only picture her voice but man I would love to hear her sing! I think she feels like most women when it comes to men..not good looking enough. I loved watching her blossom.

Secondary characters are outstanding. They push, help and antagonize Dom and Lula! I enjoyed meeting the Adams boys/family and eagerly look forward to their stories.

Overall this is excellent and is a new favorite of mine. The characters are fun, sassy and entertaining. The story is sweet, sexy and romantic. I loved everything about this book!

At Last: Adams Brothers: Book 1 by Mindy McKinley

I don’t even know where to start there are so many things I want to mention.

First,  all books taking place in Chicago must have the characters love the Cubs. 😁

Second, holy cow.  Totally didn’t expect things to play out the way they did for Lula and finding her father.  Think the build up was well written and it left me wanting more.

Third, where can I find a guy like Dom for my daughter?   If she were to bring home such a well mannered man who feels the way he does about family it would make me soooo happy.

I throughly enjoyed this book and wish I had read it slower to savor instead of reading as fast as i could to find out what happens next.

Looking forward to the next book.

When you are a teacher by day but a hot Jazz singer by night, can the two world collide and bring a new person in your life.

This story follows the lives of Lula a teacher in a school, her confidence is not the greatest but when she transforms to sing Jazz in a club the confidence oozes out of her, if only her night personna could give her day job personna a confidence boost she would be comfortable in her live.

Dominic is a History teacher at the same school as Lula, his reputation of being a player is a gossip point but Dom wants more to life but once he happens to see the alter ego of Lula and is intrigued in getting to know, the only problem is they have had a run in the past and can she get over the encounter to let him in.

I loved the two characters within this story, the chemistry and the banter between these two people jumped off the book. The story was well written and developed, each chapter drawed you more into the narrative of their journey and it was wonderful.

The secondary characters were great in the story and added another layer to this beautiful story, with a slow burn and epic debut novel I can’t wait for the next book in the series, I know which brother I want it to be. I recommend this book if you love a great romance story.

At Last (Adams Brothers, #1) by Mindy McKinley was a great 5 star read.
This was a cute story that pulled me in right from the beginning.

Lula is a quirky teacher at East High, very low key and doesn’t get much attention. When her friend talks her into singing at a jazz club she gets all dolled up and she ends up seeing the hot teacher Dominic in the crowd. Dominic has always been known as a womanizer and has no relationships.

Dominic’s brother talked him into going to a jazz club with him. What he didn’t expect to see was Lula looking mighty hot, she looks a lot different than she does in school. Now he can’t stop thinking about her and is looking for ways to talk to her at school. As they start spending more time together he breaks down her walls and gets to know her better. We also get a glimpse into Dominic’s life as well. When Lula gets some unexpected information from her grandmother she is determined to find her father. Dominic has some concerns about her searching and is determined to keep her safe.

Overall this was a great read, these two are so cute and perfect together. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. We do get a couple of steamy scenes. The writer does a great job with her writing and I can’t wait to read the next book in the series. 1-click and get started today.

This is the author’s debut novel and I really enjoyed it. The romance was hot and steamy and so cute. I really liked the main characters, Lola although fabulous really didn’t have any self-confidence at the beginning of the book when it came to singing at least. She was really committed to her students. Dom is her work colleague and he has a reputation as the heartbreaker and obviously hot.
I really liked how the story unfolded with the side plots adding so much more interest and intrigue. The writing is really easy to read and I found it very enjoyable and didn’t have to think too much which is also great. I always love a book where I don’t have to think much.

At Last is the first book in the Adams Brothers Series by Mindy McKinley. This was the first time that I had read any work by this author and judging by how much I really enjoyed At Last, it certainly won’t be the last time. At Last is a really great contemporary romance.
Lula Stanley and Dominic Adams have been colleagues for three years, both of them teachers at the same high school. Whereas Dominic has never taken any notice of the quiet literature teacher, Lula and everyone with a set of working eyes have noticed the gorgeous Dominic Adams. When Dominic goes to a jazz bar with his brother and sees Lula perform he sees a whole different side to her and boy, is he smitten.
I really enjoyed this book, it has you engaged from the very opening paragraph and keeps you engaged with a great storyline throughout the whole book.
One thing I also loved about this book is the way that both Lula and Dominic embraced their jobs as teachers. To them it was far more than just a job, it was a true vocation. Their love for teaching and their pupils shone through.
As well as loving both Lula and Dominic, I also loved the additional characters in this book. The camaraderie between Dominic and his brothers is great to read and I can’t wait to get more of this when we get the stories of his brothers.

Book 1
By Mindy McKinley

This is a full length romance novel. OKay! More hot and steamy tales for the romance department.

Lula Stanley is a literature teacher. Her one desire is to find her father. OK maybe that could be her second desire. First is finding true happiness, as well as finding her father. Lula is very conservative in dress and attitude. That is until she listens to Jazz. Dominic he too is a teacher, as well as a playboy. He could bring Lula out of her shell. Will these two finally realize what they have tried so hard to hide? Will both of them get past their own past, and take a chance?

Mindy McKinley wrote this page turner. Jump on in the rollercoaster and keep the tissue and chocolate close by. I fell in love with Dominic and can relate to Lula. The characters are real people and have real struggles. I must say The Adams Brothers Series is becoming to be a favorite. I can’t wait for Book 2! Well done Mindy McKinley, Well Done!

At Last by Mindy McKinley is book one of the Adams Brothers series. I couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait to read book two!

Lula is the sweet, shy, if not a little awkward. Dominic is quite confident and a bit of a playboy. Lula has one goal and that is to find out who her father is. She doesn’t have time for distractions between being the best teacher she can for her students and finding out about her father. Dominic never gets attached. He’s pretty good at it. What is it about Lula that changes his mind? All it takes is one night at a Jazz club. Lula doesn’t need complications right now though. What will the future hold for these two?

I couldn’t put this book down. I loved Lula, probably because I can relate to her awkwardness a bit. Dominic intrigued me a bit honestly. He seemed like a contradiction, which hooked me. These two together – whew! I absolutely recommend!
