Discovering Desire (Shattered Embrace Series) by Alyndra Quinn. This is such a good series that has BDSM plus the mafia so what more could you ask for! Its best to read these books in order because the characters are all intertwined. This is Derek, Justine & Jordan’s story, they each have their own story but their stories are also deeply in each others! Derek has decided to take over the families syndicate from his half brother Lucien. This creates a enemy for Derek and his friends and family in Lucien. He will do everything in his power to get back at Derek. Justine is still observing “Shattered Embrace” and has only had one embarrassing slip and wants to participate so bad but is too scared. Jordan is moving on in other areas of her life so she wants something more permanent with Derek. Will Derek be able to keep Lucien from ending it all for him. Will Justine learn to let go and actually get what her heart desires? Will Jordan get more from Derek or will she have to walk away from him. Read this sexy, fun, dark romance to find out!

Orange Forest Rabbit by Lois Wickstrom and Lucrecia Darling. Lois Wickstrom is my favorite children’s author so I knew I would love this book but wow it was sooo good. You actually get 3 mysteries in one book. My 11 year old nephew truly enjoyed it as much as I did. It all begins with strange happenings on Jennifer and Gregory’s rabbit farm. There is the Mystery of the Missing Meteor Fields Carrots, The Mystery of the Haunted Amusement Park and The Clue in the Airwhale Art. You and your young one can work thru each of these mysteries and try to solve them yourselves. There is fun, family, teamwork and spies. This book is geared toward ages 9-11 and they are so fun. This would make a great gift for the young one in your life. Such great lessons and pictures!

The Alien & the Crime Boss by Naomi Valkyrie. This is a great sci fi, m/m romance. I love this author and try to read everything they write so I wasn’t surprised I enjoyed it. Its the story of Kasper Kingston who is on a mission to shut down the two main crime families and take over for them. Leliphun is an alien who has been kicked out of his kingdom and the leaders there want to put him in the fighting ring he has no intention of fighting so he leaves and vows to never return. Jumping thru a portal he ends up on Earth. Kasper finds Leliphun passed out in the woods and takes him home but ties him up because he doesn’t know who or what he is. When he awakens he is questioned by Kasper but Kasper doesn’t believe any of his answers. Kasper is attracted to Leliphun and has to decide if he can trust him enough to help him or will he end up being the death of Kasper. Leliphun has to decide if he really wants to stay on this planet or does he want to try to go home? Read this fast paced romance to find out!

The Chaos Clock: Tales of Cosmic Aether edited by Danielle Ackley-McPhail . This is a wonderful anthology of steampunk, thrilling stories. There are 13 different stories by 13 different authors and they are all really good. They are short stories full of destruction, mayhem and secrets. There is horror, dystopian, fantasy and sci-fi. One of my favorite stories was the Lighthouse at the Edge of Time by Teel James Glenn. It included a Lighthouse Keeper with a steampunk prosthetic limbs that was so cool to read about. These books will keep you entertained for hours and keep you on your toes throughout. This anthology will keep you busy reading for days and it took me a week to finish it. This book is filled with wonderful authors and stories that will stay in your mind for a while, which I consider to be a great read!

Red (Modern-Day Fairy Tale Book 2) by MK Harkins. In the second book of the Modern Day Fairy Tale series we get a rendition of Little Red Riding Hood. The main character is Lilly whose Mom has sheltered her so much that she is soo excited to go to college. Her mom even home schooled her to keep her away from all the bad things. When Lilly gets to college she meets George and falls in love instantly the only problem is, George is still in love with his high school sweetheart. George is so wrapped up in her memory he can’t seem to move forward. What will Lilly have to do to get him over this girl? This is such a fun, young adult, fantasy retelling of Little Red Riding Hood and you will catch a ton of metaphors in the story. I do recommend reading the first book before this one to learn the characters better. I can’t wait to read the next one!

This is the second book in the Gemstone Massacre Series but I recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of the story and characters. Its an urban fantasy that includes, danger, Violence, drama and and paranormal in it. Its the continuing story of Amy who is beginning to realize that she and Opal have quite a bit in common even though she doesn’t want that to be true. Amy is determined to stop Opal from destroying everything in their realm and do it without causing any more harm to anyone. Amy decides to take things into her own hands and fight Opal with everything she has. Opal is not a fair judge and jury and she decides to run so that she will never have to chance having a fair trial. With the help of everyone and everything Opal has tossed aside Amy has a pretty fair chance at winning. There is magic, Paranormal activity and corruption galore in this story and you have to pay attention to keep up. Such a a good paranormal fantasy~!

Tally and the Angel, The Sands of Time by Eleanor Dixon. This is the 5th installment in the Tally and the Angel series and its geared towards middle school age kids. This installment is set in Greece and the writing is so well done that you feel like you are in Greece. Its the continuing story of Tally who after her mother passed she was given a necklace that housed an angel. The angel is named Josphiel and they have been on many adventures together. These adventures are full of mythology and different customs that are celebrated. this book would be perfect for the middle school age child in your life. I do recommend reading them in order to better understand the characters and storyline. Such a fun series.

The Music That Ties Us (Love Ties Us Series) by Nicolette Terry. This is a great contemporary romance. Its the story of Cadence who feels like she is stuck in life. Stuck in a bland relationship, stuck in a rut in all facets of life until her sister takes her to a rock concert and she connects with the lead singer, Damien. Damien wants no part of Cadence even though she is beautiful he can’t risk a relationship with his past. Cadence doesn’t give up on Damien but Elijah her boyfriend is still around and she puts up with a lot from him. She and Damien do become friends thru their love of music and the chemistry is off the charts. Will she finally be able to say goodbye to Elijah and will Damien finally let her in. Will Cadence be able to see her worth the way others see her? Such a good read but be prepared, I couldn’t put it down once I started reading. I finished in one evening.

Spirit Guide: Madame Chalamet Ghost Mysteries by Byrd Nash. This is the third installment in the Chalamet Ghost Mysteries series and I just loved it. It picks up right where the last one left off so I do recommend reading them in order. Elinor and Tristan continue to grow their relationship and solve crimes together. After Elinor’s dad is murdered she is trained as a medium so she works with local officials to solve crimes. In this mystery they are looking for a missing nobleman’s daughter who was researching the mysterious Morpheus Society. The more Elinor and Tristan look into this society the more strange things happen. A high ranking member of this society ends up doing really bad things between the realms. Will they be able to find the missing girl before she’s gone forever or before someone else disappears? Such a fun read. Love this series!

Salt Love: A Summer Romantic Comedy by Marika Ray. This is such a emotional read about Kenna who married her high school sweetheart and such a hard worker. Finding out in the same week that her husband was cheating on her and her favorite Aunt passed away. Being served divorce papers and finding out she is part owner in a boat club and a new house left to her by her aunt in Florida in the same week is a lot to take in. Heading to Florida she is so down on herself feeling like a complete failure. When she arrives in Florida she finds out that 1/2 of the boat club is owned by a hot, grumpy guy named Dec. Dec was super grumpy but he felt a pull towards Kenna and can’t stay away from her. They end up spending time together and getting closer. While working on her house and working at the boat club gives her a sense of purpose and Dec makes her think she might believe in love again. Kenna has a lot of funny situations happen and this book will make you laugh out loud.

Irresistible Bond: Central Florida Stories by Victoria Saccenti. I loved this book. Its the story of Storm who works undercover for the DEA. She is attached to her friends Marcus and Barrington who are cousins, all thru growing up but when she left to join the DEA they lost touch. Storm comes from immigrants where Barrington and Marcus are from a very wealthy family. Before Storm left to join the DEA she overheard the cousins families talking bad about her because of her being poor. She left before the cousins could take up for her. While working undercover she is kidnapped and tortured by drug lords and thinking about her relationship with the cousins and her love for them is what keeps her alive. Finally rescued by her fellow DEA people she ends up in a hospital wanting to call Marcus and Barrington but they beat her to the punch by showing up at the hospital declaring their love for her as well. The only agree to a relationship as a threesome so she has to agree to that. Such a steamy love story.

She lives in Los Angeles during the depression and she was formally a street kid but is now living with all kinds of different characters. When her boss is accused of murder Sparky realizes she has to solve the case to save him. With all kinds of craziness happening while trying to solve the murder Sparky puts herself and others in harms way. Will she be able to solve the murder before another one happens? Such a fun mystery for young kids. The writing is so well done I felt like I was living in LA during the depression!

The Amanda Mini-Mysteries by Lois Wickstrom. This is such a fun kids book filled with scientific experiments. Its a read that would better suit ages 9-12 and could be a fun family read. I read this with my 11 year old nephew and we both enjoyed it. Its about Amanda and her friend Elaine as they investigate mini-mysteries and find out why things turn out certain ways. If you love science and mysteries this book is for you and the child in your life. We really enjoyed it and will do some of the experiments mentioned. This book would make a great gift for a elementary teacher for her class.

The Silent Forest (The House on the Hill Book 2) by David Kummer. HOLY MOLY! This book was intense! Its not one to read while you are alone in the dark or you will not sleep. This is my favorite genre so I knew I would like it but I LOVED it. This book picks up right where the previous one leaves off so I do recommend reading the 1st book before this one. Its a few weeks after the first book ends and Alison is still missing but Kaia still believes she is out there. Kaia begins a search on her own and while searching she digs up some things about people in this town that they would probably rather stayed secret. Will Kaia end up putting herself in danger digging up all these secrets? The sheriff is not happy that these secrets are coming out as are several others in town. These people could be dangerous if crossed. Hang on to the edge of your seat because this book will have you jumping from the get go. Such a awesome thrilling, scary story. I can’t wait for the next one!

This is the 2nd book in the Clumsy Little Hearts Trilogy and while you don’t have to read the 1st book to understand this one, I always recommend reading them in order to get a better understanding of the characters. This is Rachel and Miguel’s story. Rachel is a real estate agent who has never done well in the dating department. While getting stood up on a date Rachel is drinking her cares away and she meets Miguel who happens to own the restaurant. Miguel cooks her food and they talk and talk. Miguel is still recovering from a bad relationship so he’s not looking for love at all but when it happens you can’t stop it. Rachel is smitten with Miguel but she’s afraid he is still grieving his past relationship. Will they be able to have their happy ending. Read this sweet story to find out!

By Your Side (Willowbrook Lake Series) by Ashley Erin. This is such a sweet second chance love story. Its the story of Adeline whose husband Scott died in a tragic accident. Adeline decides she needs to move out of town to somewhere that isn’t full of memories of Scott. When she picks Willowbrook Lake and decides to fix up a huge project house she thinks she may have gotten in over her head. Owen is the handyman of Willowbrook Lake and when she hires him to help her with this huge project Owen isn’t super impressed by her because she quite literally almost ran him over the first day she was in town. Adeline is trying to make it up to Owen but she really isn’t too focused on him she is too busy grieving and fixing up this house. The more time they spend together the more she starts to have feelings for Owen even though he’s grumpy as all get out. She is conflicted with those feelings and isn’t sure what to do with them. Owen starts to like her as well but knows she is still grieving. Such a sweet second chance romance. I love the town of Willowbrook Lake and all its people!

Stout Of my League (Love on Tap Book 4) by Sylvie Stewart. This is the 4th and final book in the Love on Tap series and its so good! You don’t have to read them all in order to understand the stories but I always recommend it. Its the story of Lynn who has a plan for her future. She is going to go to college for sports medicine physical therapist and getting at job at Arrows stadium is going to help get her foot in the door. While at Arrows stadium she meets Joey the gorgeous short stop on the team and she is smitten. He is handsome and athletic and a jerk. Lynn is not a sports fan so she didn’t know who he was before getting this job. Joey is a really good athlete but he is a player. He is beginning to realize that Lynn was the one that got away because she thought he was a jerk. When he remembers she wanted to be a physical therapist for the team he puts a good word in for her. Will that win her back for him. If she finds out he helped her will she be mad and not want anything to do with him. These are such fun books and I love baseball so that added to the charm for me. Such a good series.

Homicidal Innocence by V.J. Lee. This book was WOW! I made the mistake of reading it while house/dog sitting for my brother at his house in the woods by myself! I was awake most of the night. I did not want to put this thrilling romance down. Its the story of a child killer who was sent away and they thought they had fixed him. They were wrong. He was a killer to his core and it would never change. Maya is a nanny in the fancy, rich world of Diamond Valley and while most people are being a nanny for the money Maya is in it for the kids. She loves children and she’s in college for child psychology. She wants to help kids in need. While money and secrets flow in this valley Maya is only concerned about helping kids when a serial killer gets too close Maya begins to work with Detective Cole in trying to find this guy before someone else dies. What Maya doesn’t know is the killer May have her in his sights. I loved this book it is my favorite genre and I hope this author writes another one soon.

Opposite Day for Dinopotamus by Lois June Wickstrom. This is my favorite children’s author so I knew I had to read this cute book to my 6 year old nephew. He loved it. Its full of cute illustrations and always a a lesson is included. When Dinopotamus gets to school he learns its opposite day and the teacher tells them they will learn to tell the difference in opposites. They are given different shapes of letters and fonts that are so fun for the kids. This is probably best for kids ages 4-8 and would make a great gift for the child in your life.

The Puppy Adventures of Porter and Midge: Out and About (Porter and Midge Children’s Book Series) by Jennie Chen and Giselle Nevada. This series is such a good series about dogs and how responsible owners need to learn how to train their pups. Its all done a level that kids can understand. The pictures are really illustrated well and my 6 year old nephew loved it. CJ and Lora want their dog to be in the local 4th of July parade but because they are puppies and not trained they will have to learn some stuff before they can ride in the parade. Learning ways to train their pups actually works out to be fun for the kids and they have a good time while learning something. These books are so good because not only do kids love them they also learn something from them.

This is Stephanie & Ted’s story. Ted is a widowed cowboy who is so into himself that he doesn’t see that Stephanie is crazy about him. Stephanie is a yoga teacher and a school teacher. She is young but doesn’t care about the age difference between her and Ted. When Ted’s niece comes to stay with him for a while Stephanie offers to help her in school. She might have another motive like getting to know Ted better. Ted is so thankful for Stephanie because he is way out of his wheelhouse with his niece. When Ted finally figures out Stephanie is in it for more than his niece will he be able to let go of his fears and try a relationship? Read this awesome romance to find out!

Flying at Recess by Lois Wickstrom. This is my favorite children’s author and my 6 year old nephew and I have enjoyed all her books. This one is no different. The books are always fun and have great pictures. This is the story of Soara a little girl who flies at recess where she can hang with the butterflies and fly over the trees. The only rule to flying at recess is you have to be back before the bell rings. One day Soara gets caught up looking at a butterfly and gets off track. Will she be able to find her way back to school on time? Full of imagination and fun for your elementary age child they will love to read about Flying at Recess. Add this wonderful book to the child in your life’s library!

This is the story of Heather who thought when she signed up for the Society of Creative Anachronism that it would be nothing more than trying on clothes but in fact its a lot more than that. Getting lost on the way to the reenactment is the first problem but that is only the first problem. When she meets Prince Roland, or so she thinks, she is dressed like a princess so figures this is her Prince and sparks fly. They continue to dance the night away until someone is kidnapped and Heather is scared. She and Roland are on the run and she realizes this is a lot more than just a reenactment. People aren’t who they say they are and things are happening that shouldn’t be. Will she survive the danger and get home without it following her. The cats help keep down the mice and yucky things that crawl around at night at a theme park. When one evening on shift Cat finds a manager strangled to death she is shocked. The fact that no one really liked this person is beside the point, Cat is determined to find out what happened. Her goal is to find the killer so that the theme park can feel safe again for everyone. Consulting with her cat friend aka Zoe,they work together to take down this killer before another murder occurs. Such a fun mystery with a twist. Each page has a different Turtle and number and facts about the turtles for kids to enjoy. The illustrations are beautiful and my 6 year old nephew loved it. The pages explain all the sea life that turtles are around and how they go about their days. Its such a fun, educational read. Would make a great gift for all families and even teachers. I will be getting another copy for my new grandson coming in September!

This is the story of Oscar & Emma, rescued kittens that Abby & Charlie take care of. Abby & Charlie are siblings and they have been taking care of the kittens since they came to their family. In this story Hurricane Harvey is coming and the kids are learning everything they need to know to prepare for that storm. Not only do they need their supplies but they will also need the kittens supplies. This cute book even includes a list of things that would be needed for your pets. These books are always a great gift idea for the younger child in your life and even for a teacher. They make a great addition to any library.

Bad Enough (The Deadman’s Tribe Series Book 2) by Nicole Craig. This is a great 2nd book in the Deadman’s Tribe series. Its about Sylvan Jones who is a romance writer and in this new book she is venturing into the world of BDSM. She is given a anonymous mentor thru a chat group so that she can learn about the lifestyle. The mentor she is given is TB and he is very interested in this woman named “Flame” whom he is chatting with. The more he talks with her the more he wants her. TB (Lobo) is an IT specialist and when he and his team get hired to look for a missing girl which is the 5th girl to go missing in the same manner. When TB (Lobo) and Sylvan meet in real life to work on the missing girls case their feelings only become stronger. This book was really good because it didn’t just focus on the romance it had a lot of action and mystery which I love. Will Lobo and Sylvan realize what they have is special and will they find the missing girls before Sylvan finds herself one of the victims? Read this fast paced romance to find out!

The first story is April Love and its the story of April Brooks who is a 28 year old who has just left her cheating boyfriend. She is also a virgin. She has always had a crush on a guy named Will Shepard and she has decided he will be the one to take her virginity. He gladly accepts and decides to give her lessons beforehand. In the second book Monica’s Manhunt, Monica has decided she needs to settle down and find her a partner. While she is hunting she is also doing wedding things for her boss who is getting married. While working on the wedding stuff she has to work alongside the best man Matt. They begin to feel major chemistry between each other but realize they want different things. Matt is a player and Monica wants to settle down can Matt change his ways? There are both sweet love stories that are a joy to read.

One Quarter Villain by Cori Cooper. This is a really good young adult fantasy that is a spin off of a fairy tale. Its the story of Maddy and on her 17th birthday she gets a DNA kit from her grandma. She does it and sends it off but doesn’t think anything else about it. Her mom practically had to bribe her to send it off. When she gets the results back she is horrified, it tells her she is part villain and what does that even mean. She is suddenly thrown into another realm to save her best friend and she realizes what being a villain entails. Her best friend has been mistakenly sent to this other realm so Maddy has to find him and get him home. Maddy ends up working with the other realm because there is a problem with it and they actually listen to what Maddy has to say about the two realms not working together. Maddy is determined to save her best friend and will do whatever it takes to find him. Such a good story full of twists, turns and major chaos. It will have you flipping the pages late in the night.
