My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Spectral revelations: A Karina Cardinal Mystery (The Karina Cardinal Mysteries Book 6) By Ellen Butler. I love this series and was so excited to see there was another book in the series. It can be read as a standalone but I highly recommend reading them in order to get a better feel of the characters. They are really good paranormal mysteries. Karina and her friends are back with another mystery, Karina’s Aunt Vera has disappeared and her mom insists they investigate. Karina is a attorney who has now become a lobbyist. She always seems to run into trouble everywhere she goes so when her Aunt Vera goes missing she is of course going to investigate. Karina and her boyfriend Rick and the gang all help her figure out if Aunt Vera is in trouble or if she has run away. They find all kinds of corruption, greed and schemes galore! Will they be able to find Aunt Vera before its too late? I love this series so much and hope there is another book.

What We Never Say: Empowering Contemporary Women's Fiction (Bold Journeys Book 2)What We Never Say: Empowering Contemporary Women’s Fiction by Paulette Stout
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What We Never Say (Bold Journeys Book 2) by Paulette Stout. I really enjoyed this book. It’s a deep book about a very sad situation. There is sexual abuse talked about in this book so be aware. It’s the story of Rebecca who is a writer and has started a blog that is getting a lot of attention, in fact a major women’s magazine is picking it up. Everyone is so excited for her except for her boyfriend Kyle. He seemed really reserved about it. Kyle has things in his past that he’s not proud of and doesn’t want to talk about. When a person from his past brings out his secret he is deeply hurt. Rebecca had no idea that Kyle used to be a model and she is as shocked as everyone else. Will they be able to work out these issues from Kyle’s past and not let it interfere with Rebecca’s writing and their relationship? This series is a very good series and this book in particular deals with a very taboo subject. I love how this author handled it. I would recommend reading the first book beforehand so that you can get a better understanding of the characters.

The Hand of God: From Oppenheimer to Hypersonics - A Crash Course on Nuclear Weapons and Humankind's Most Dangerous GameThe Hand of God: From Oppenheimer to Hypersonics – A Crash Course on Nuclear Weapons and Humankind’s Most Dangerous Game by Paul McCarthy
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The Hand of God: From Oppenheimer to Hypersonics by Paul McCarthy. This is not my typical read but it is a very interesting read. It is a Crash Course on Nuclear Weapons all they way. It explains in great detail what exactly a nuclear weapon is and how they are used. It is written to where even I could understand all of it. Knowing exactly what and how these Nuclear Weapons could be used are equal parts terrifying and cool. The examples they used such as dropping a bomb on New York and the damage it could do was absolutely horrifying. When I was a kid I was terrified of Nuclear Weapons and now we don’t think twice, in reality we should really be terrified now. The power of these weapons is incredible and very much a possibility. I feel so much more knowledgeable on the powers of Nuclear Weapons due to this book. Great job Paul McCarthy!
