The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier is my first book by this author, and I loved it! I was hooked from the beginning and stayed up much later than I should have just to read this great book! This book is sad, heartfelt, and just overall an emotional roller coaster. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be reading it again! I recommend this great book, and can’t wait to see more from Lawrence Parlier!

Confidentiality is the second book in the Scope of Practice series by Jessica Aiken-Hall. This is a crime/ thriller that kept me up long after my bedtime, just to find out who did it. Boundaries, the first book in the series should be read first to get the whole backstory. Valerie is a great character, I felt like I really knew her. The witty banter between her and Tim was entertaining. This book kept me guessing right until the end. I highly recommend this book, series and author. I can’t wait to read more from Ms. Aiken-Hall.

The Slaughter of Leith Hall Paperback by Lexie Conyngham is a historical, crime fiction novel. I always enjoy a good crime novel or a good historical fiction, and this book didn’t disappoint. There are twists and turns and trying to figure out who to trust. Also, this set in time when Culloden is not a distant memory and the Jacobites are feeling the pain of their losses. The characters are very interesting and I enjoyed Charlie and the changes taking place in his life. Are the changes for the best or do they benefit others more? The author sets up a delightful mystery and in such a beautiful location, Scotland. The story swept me away and left me wanting more. I definitely look forward to reading more from this author in the future.

I found myself inside the story with the characters. The mystery and historical story is one of twists and turns. I loved the detailed writing of Lexie Conyngham She kept my interest and I was turning the pages fast because I wanted to see if I was on the right side of the story. The characters are complex and well written. I followed along with Charlie. He has set out on a journey as he is in the middle of a murder-mystery. All he wants is justice. He is determined to solve this mystery and get home. I highly recommend this story. You will want to see if Charlie solves the mystery or get lost in the process.

Confidentiality is the second book in Jessica Aiken-Hall’s Scope of Practice series. You absolutely have to start with the first book Boundaries as otherwise you will have no idea what is going on, who is who and why things are happening as they are! It is a brilliant continuation of a mystery that will continue into the third story. Valerie Williamson’s past is out in the open and everything seems perfect – her personal life is blossoming and she is getting closer to Tim who offers her more than anyone has ever offered her and she accepts it! She is forging a deeper connection with the members of the support group she leads and this connection becomes a compulsion to protect them. There are a lot of moving parts in the story that Jessica has woven and they all play their important part so do not lose sight of them! The writer is touching upon some very sensitive subjects and I commend her for that! I love the care she is taking when doing so and she goes deep … so deep it is painful … Add to the mix a string of murders that Valerie knows are connected so she puts her life into danger when she decides she needs to figure it out as she is sure they are linked to someone she cares for! The end will blow your mind and I cannot wait for the third story in the series that gives us insight into why …

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier a rhythmic four-star read. This is my first read by this author and it wont be my last, there was something about the mystery that just kept you hooked, I don’t know what to say as I don’t want to spill anything about this. There are great characters in this story, strong people who keep the story going and even though the story is about Rockstar Kerry Vance but he isn’t the only one we hear about and I think that was what made this story complete. Do pick this up if you are in the mood for a good mystery with great pacing and sublime characters.

This book starts with us finding out that Kerry Vance has died in his hotel room of an overdose while on tour in England, this news is a shock to the system of his family, his best friend, a mystery from his past and those who know him through his music.
We start the book off a member of his family spilling orange juice all over the floor in shock and having to reign themselves in from emotionally collapsing until their daughter leaves for school. Next we see his best friend amidst a horrendous hangover trying to take in the news, they are rudely awoken from a stupor by their other best friend, who seems determined to finish off what the alcohol, anger, devastation and drugs had started the night before. From their point of view, what the news has reported about Kerry’s death isn’t all adding up and that it was not in Kerry’s’ character to go the way he did but is determined to somehow get to the truth of the matter.
Finally we meet a long time friend of Kerry who is also hit hard by the news of his death and is desperately trying to come to terms with the news when a mysterious package from Kerry himself arrives. As they remember their time with him, they are confused as to why they have received this package and eventually pluck up the courage to open the box and read the letter addressed to them. The contents of this are a shock to the system as is the realisation why Kerry has sent it and the strange request within it.
The story continues as this request is followed to the letter, but what with trying to both stay out of trouble and cause it all at the same time, whether it can be done is another thing completely.
There are plot twists and turns in this story and nothing is as it seems throughout. It is a non-stop whirlwind that keeps your emotions on edge and a need to know how it will end, will keep you reading.

The Frontman is a murder mystery/thriller by Laurence Parlier. This is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely not my last. This book grabbed my attention from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until I read the last. I enjoyed the plotline and the characters are relatable and engaging. The twists and turns in this story had my head spinning. I would think I knew what was going to happen next, but no….. things changed. I highly recommend this book and author. I look forward to reading more from books from Mr. Laurence.

Virtually Gone : A Mended Souls Novel (High-Tech Crime Solvers Book 6) Jacquie Biggar 3.5 out of 5 stars
When I stumbled across Virtually Gone, I was really intrigued. Not only did the synopsis set the premise of a good story, I was drawn by the fact that this series is comprised of various authors and their contributions. This review is difficult for me as I feel my opinions are contradictory. I will start by saying I really liked the book overall. It was about 150 pages so it proved to be a really fast read. While it had my attention from the beginning, it was simultaneously hard for me to get into the storyline because for whatever reason, I had a hard time initially keeping the main characters straight. I did like the chemistry between characters, however. I thought the story flowed well and it was different subject matter than I find myself gravitating toward regularly. I am interested in exploring Jacquie Biggar’s writing more in the future as this was my first experience with this author.
Virtually Gone by Jacquie Biggar is the sixth book in the High-Tech Crime Solvers series and it was a great read! I could hardly put this book down once I started reading it. It was thrilling, and definitely crime filled! I was filled suspense almost the whole time I was reading this! This is first novel in this series I’ve read, and while it is the sixth installment, I didn’t feel like I absolutely had to read the other for this to make sense. It would have definitely helped if I read the other installments, but this book could absolutely be read as a stand-alone and you wouldn’t be thrown off. Another novel from this author that I loved!
I have really been enjoying the Scope of Practice books so far by Jessica Aiken-Hall. She is really good at weaving a detailed and gripping thriller that will keep you fully engrossed from the get-go until the very last page. Confidentiality is the second book in the series and I would recommend that you read the first one before diving into this one. We get a lot of background and character building in that one that carries over and enriches this story very well.
In Confidentiality we find Valarie feeling like she finally has things in order and is living a life she enjoys, although not the one she had anticipated for herself. Things take an even darker and twistier turn when a serial killer is among them. The murders seem to have some coincidental aspects but is it just that at a coincidence? I loved the different layers that are laid out for us as we read. It is not just one steady storyline and things are so well put together that it feels flawless and effortless to follow along. I am super excited to see what the next book will entail.

I was pleasantly surprised by the twists and turns that The Frontman took. Reading the blurb, I knew it was about the death of Kerry Vance. Kerry is the lead singer of band going on tour. His death is what you come to expect of those leading the rock star life…drug overdose in a hotel. However, those that really knew Kerry aren’t believing what they are being told. Enter Calliope, a woman from Kerry’s past, to start helping those in Kerry’s life find out what really happened.
There were so many twists in this story. Each person who plays a role in this book has a connection to Kerry…but what happens when paths start crossing and everyone’s little pieces of Kerry’s story begin to reveal the bigger picture. This is a story of loss and love…but also self-discovery and healing. I found myself pulled into the story from the beginning, wanting to know what really happened. I liked some characters while despising others. I was also surprised at the link between people and the roles they played in Kerry’s life. All together, a good story that is definitely worth a read.

Virtually Gone (High-Tech Crime Solvers Book 6) by Jacquie Biggar. I loved the previous books in the series so I had high hopes for this one and I was not disappointed. It can be read as a standalone but I’ve enjoyed reading them all. Its the story of Julie Crenshaw who is an investigative reporter and Matthew Roy who is a detective. Julie has come upon a case that may make or break her career. There is a string of Sexual abuse cases but what Julie doesn’t know its going to throw her right in the rapists path. Matt is ticked off because he can’t solve this case. He is ticked at Connor his partner whose reporter girlfriend seems to always be one step ahead of him. If it weren’t for Connor, Matt would have probably killed or at least locked up Julie. When the rapist resorts to murder the stakes are even higher. Will Matt, Connor and Julie use technology to solve this crime before some else gets hurt or worse murdered. Will Matt and Connor still be partners/friends at the end of this investigation? Virtually Gone is the sixth book in High-Tech Crime Solvers series where a group of authors have gotten together to write series of techno-thrillers, stories that have a promise of high technology and interlocking cast of characters and where one might just get away with a murder! I had read Jacquie Biggar’s Men of WarHawks series so I expected something spectacular and I was slightly disappointed! I felt that this story was not of the same calibre as the WarHawks series though overall I do not regret that I picked up a copy. Virtually Gone takes place in Victoria in British Columbia and we meet Julie who is an investigative reporter and Matt’s partner’s Connor’s girlfriend so it makes Matt’s life, who is the lead Detective in this story, a bit dicey! Throw into the mix a serial killer, Matt’s past tragedy and you have a good formula for a great story! It took a bit for the story to really get off the ground but once it did and once I had sorted out the back stories in my head, I could not wait to turn pages and to find out who where and how and I tell you, the technology that they used for the investigations? Mind-blowing!

Virtually Gone: A Mended Souls Novel is the 6th book in the High Tech Crime Solvers series by Jacquie Biggar. There is a serial killer on the loose in Victoria and both the police and the media are desperate to catch him. There is a conflict of interest however as Julie, an ambitious reporter, is in a relationship with Connor, one of the detectives on the case. As the killer starts to escalate the race is on to catch him before he hurts anyone else. This book can be read as a stand alone, as I did, but I think you would make the most of it if you have read the previous novels, as there is some reference to a previous book. However, this is an enjoyable and fast paced mystery with intriguing characters. I think I will go back and start the series from the beginning as I really enjoyed the style of the author.

This novel is part of a multi-author series about ‘high technology and technological crimes’, some of the characters cross over from previous books but, like myself you can read this book as a standalone story. This is a techno thriller which although not my usual choice of genre had me hooked from the start. Julie Crenshaw is an investigative reporter who happens upon a story that could both be the story of a lifetime and put her life at risk. Having investigated a number of sexual abuse cases, Julie ends up on the serial rapists radar herself and has to discover his identity before he strikes again and prevent herself from becoming his next target. Meanwhile, Detective Matthew Roy is in charge of the investigation to find the serial rapist and is getting no where. His investigation in not helped by the fact that his partner’s girlfriend Julie seems to be conducting her own enquiries. When the rapist also becomes a killer both Matt and Julie need to find him and fast but how. This is a fast paced book with a fascinating and thought provoking storyline and interesting characters which kept me gripped from page one. I was fully immersed in the technological crime world created by Biggar thanks to her wonderful narrative and detailed descriptions. I am keen to read the previous books in this series now and other books by Jacquie Biggar.

Virtually gone, by Jacquie Biggar, is part six of a multi author series. I jumped straight in at book six and don’t feel like you need to have read the other books in the series to enjoy this story.
The story begins with the brutal murder of a 16 year old girl, and from this a whole series of event come in to play. The past intermingles with the present, and the race is on to stop others getting hurt. The characters in this story all have an important part to play, and they all have different issues that make this case more personal to them than others. You can feel the passion and desperation come through, and I think that knowing what drives people, and where their reasoning comes from really helps you to engage with the characters and enjoy the story even more. The characters and the plot moves very quickly, and there are a few surprises thrown in, which keeps the story exciting and makes you keep turning the pages. I would recommend this if you enjoy a thriller with a twist.
The Slaughter of Leith Hall by Lexie Conyngham is a historical crime fiction story that is intriguing and well written. I thought the author did a great job of sticking to the time period it was written, even when it did slow down the story a little. But the story had a mysterious feel to it and the author really threw in some twists and turns to keep it interesting. This is a new author to me and I was really taken with the overall writing style. The story was built up in such a way that it kept my interest easily. I wanted to find out what was going on and see if the mystery would be solved. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I am looking forward to reading more by this author.

Oh goodness, I don’t usually read crime novels, however I really enjoyed this one.
The character development was done really well. The plot was done fantastically, as such I would assume it would be in real life of investigators and journalists, hurry up and wait type situations. Matt was by far my favorite character in this book and Julie, I would like to know more about her backstory and the leading up to this book so I may have to see if she is written in a different book. Also, I am interested in the budding romances that are forming between a few more characters, something to keep my eyes open for with this author.
I didn’t have any trouble reading this book as it is book 6 in this series, it was very well done as a standalone and I would recommend it if you are into crime investigating stories, this one’s for you.
Everything is going for Valerie at last but when there is a serial killer in the mix, can Valerie and Tim find out who it is in time.
Valerie is finally settled and not isolated anymore she has a loving fiance, family and friends and Valerie and Tim are doing well, planning for the up and coming wedding when Tim gets involved in investigating the tragic murders which are happening within Lawerenceville.
As Val gets more involved within her group she can’t lose the feeling that there is a connection with the murders that no one else seems to know or wants to believe, its upto Val to try and uncover who this person is and when you have secrets and lies well hidden can you help.
I loved the first book in this series and I was excited to see the relationship between Tim and Val progress and grow and it was brilliant the banter that these two characters have is a joy to read. I love the way Jessica Aiken-Hall writes about the gritty subjects with the consideration of the victim and showing this side of society. The story flowed and with twists and turn unraveling the brilliant story it was a page turner.
I feel you don’t have to read the first book to follow or appreciate the story but I think it is best if you have as you then have a better insight into the wonderful character of Valerie. I definitely recommend you read this book and get caught up in the thrilling story.

This book had me hooked from the beginning. I was on the edge of my seat through a lot of this story wondering when or if they were going to catch this person doing these horrible things. Matt has a personal interest in catching this person and it’s making him very frustrated and on edge. This story is fast paced, full of suspense, and I love the technology used in this book. There are other great characters in this story as well. I highly recommend this book.

Virtually Gone: A Mended Souls Novel is the sixth book in the High-Tech Crime Solvers Series by Jacquie Biggar. Each book in this series is written by a different author featuring recurring characters and the theme of technology and crime. This is the first book I have read by Ms. Biggar, but definitely won’t be the last. I found the story compelling and the characters easy to relate to. It was fast paced and I didn’t want it to end, but I also wanted to find out who-done-it. I’m going to try my luck with the other books in this series, and also try some of Jacquie’s other books. I think she may turn into a go to author for me.
What a thriller!!! This is one of my favorite authors and this story proves why.
All I can say is WOW. This story kept me at the edge of my seat. Jacquie Biggar is one author that I follow on all platforms. Her writing style engages me from the first page until the last. She spins a story that will take you on twists and turns, ups, and downs. I have to reread some parts because there was a curveball that came out of nowhere. Her characters are easy to understand. They have defined characteristics that make you “like them” or “hate them”. In this story, I felt a connection Julie Crenshaw. She was handed a case about women who have been raped by a serial rapist. She may get herself in trouble. Detective Matthew Roy is the detective on the serial rapist. Can Detective Roy catch this rapist before there is another victim? Will Julie be careful so she does not become the next victim. I highly recommend this story to see what happens next.

I give Virtually Gone: A Mended Souls Novel (High-Tech Crime Solvers Book 6) by Jacquie Biggar, 4 stars.
This is crime novel that uses advanced technology to catch a serial rapist. This takes the traditional detective novel and enhances it with the use of up and coming advancements in technology. The story itself is very good too. We see things not only from the point of view of the detectives on the case, but also the reporters they happen to be friends with. Then of course there is the view of the perpetrator. This adds another layer of suspense. I was on the edge of my seat, waiting to see what would happen next and if they could catch the killer in time.
If you are a fan of criminal thrillers that used new ways of catching the bad guy, this book is for you.

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier. This was a new author to me. This genre is a little out of my norm but I was absolutely pulled in by the mystery and thrill of this book!!! I was so engulfed in this book that I could not put it down until I got to the end. The twists and turns will keep you reading and reading fast!!! I found this book to be an amazing story, the book is about the mysterious death of a rock and roll legend…. Sex, drugs, rock and roll, suspense, mystery and a constant flow storyline made this a great book!!! I can not wait to read more by this author!

This book was so much more than I bargained for! The characters were amazing, even the bad guy’s! The events surrounding Avery, Kerry, and Calliope were described in such detail it made me forget that this isn’t a real story, almost like those moments that make you think this is too weird to make up, haha. The friendships that were formed, strengthened, and torn apart had me reeling. I really enjoyed how this story was told, as each person had their own chance to tell their side to the story, and it came together very well, very few questions not answered in some way or another. There was a lot packed in this one book, by the end I couldn’t put the book down, my emotions were off the charts and some parts were a bit closer to home than I would have liked, but Lawrence executed the delivery spectacularly! I will have to keep my eye out on this author, I can’t wait to see what comes next.

The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier was a great 5 star read. I was pulled in right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down until I was done.
We start the story with the death of a legendary artist Kerry Vance. He passed away shortly after the first show of his latest tour. Kerry’s friend Avery doesn’t believe that it was a suicide and is determined to found out the truth behind his death.
Avery meets Calliope who is looking for his help. Will Avery help her? Can they find out what really happened to Kerry?
Overall I really enjoyed this read. There were all sorts of unexpected twists and turns. All of the characters added a great element to the story. This is my first read from this author and I loved it. He pulled me right in with his writing. I love the fact that he is a musician himself so he has a lot of great insight to the Rock n’ Roll world. I look forward to reading more from him. 5 Star The Frontman by Lawrence Parlier Wow This was a thousand times better than I expected it to be. This is a Mystery / Thriller that I couldn’t stop reading till I finished. From the very first page till the last I found myself on the edge of my seat trying to figure out what happens next. Music Legend Kerry Vance is found dead at the beginning of his Tour. The news of his death was pretty shocking to most of his fans. But his friends and Family are not convinced it was an accident. What happens when a Mysterious woman shows up ? Will they get to the bottom of this? You guys this is a must read . I don’t want to give anything away but read it for yourself you won’t regret it I promise . This was my first read by Lawrence Parlier but its definitely not my last. I highly recommend reading this.
