This is a great book! I was drawn in from the beginning and it just didn’t let go! I love all the intrigue and suspense. This a quite a story! My favorite character was Alex. He is silent and deadly. He is self assured in his abilities and I like that he doesn’t let law enforcement or others intimidate him. When they question him…if he doesn’t feel the question is relevant, he just doesn’t answer. No hemming or hawing or fidgeting around. Just a stare and silence. Dang! What that says about him! But the whole Mallory thing blows his mind and he isn’t sure what to do about it. He has never had someone like her before. This is my first book by this author. I can see there are more of these to dive into. I enjoyed all the characters and the storyline. I can’t even imagine?!? It boggles my mind. This flowed nicely and I would read more of these heart stopping stories

A Cold Dark Place was a thrilling 5 star read and book one in the Cold Justice series. I was pulled in right from the beginning.
The FBI had once estimated there were approximately two-hundred and fifty serial killers active in the US at any one time. Alex’s job was whittling that number down.
Mallory is an FBI agent who is working hard to put serial killers away. She is also searching for the one responsible for taking her sister from her 18 years ago. Alex is an assassin who is working towards freedom by hunting serial killers, he is counting down the days.
When Mallory discovers a serial killer dead at a crime scene she suspects there is someone else they should be looking for. This is where Alex comes in, he decides to watch her and make sure she doesn’t discover who he is. This is where things take an interesting twist and get even better.
There is so much more to this great mystery and suspenseful read. There are secrets revealed and you continue to be on the edge of your seat until your done. I was very happy with how everything came together in the end. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

I think this is the first story I’ve read by this author and I enjoyed the writing style. This is a romantic thriller with open door sex scenes.
The story moves at a quick pace and not everything is obviously spelled out. The story is multi layered and had a very obvious beginning, middle and end.
For some reason, the last few books I’ve chosen have been mystery/suspense/thriller and this is one of my favorites among them.
I look forward to reading the future books on this series to see what other mischief these two can get into.

A Cold Dark Place by Toni Anderson is the first book in the Cold Justice series and it’s also my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last. I was hooked from the very first chapter, once I started reading I couldn’t bring myself to stop!
This romance thriller is intense, captivating, twisted, detailed, sick, unexpected and beyond entertaining. Toni managed to bring me on a roller coaster ride of emotions as I tried to solve the mystery, and at no point had I seen the ending coming!
I can’t wait to read more from this author and would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next romance thriller!

Toni Anderson is a new author for me, and what a great book to get introduced by. A Cold Dark Place is book 1 in the Cold Justice series, and OMG! What an incredible read. This book was everything and more. I was captivated from just reading the synopsis and then diving into this book it drew me in, even more, I was completely and utterly entranced with this read. This read was action-packed, it had twists and turns, it had danger it was a thriller and suspenseful from the start to finish. I was left on the edge of my seat numerous times and left reeling.
The characters in this read were real, and their feeling and emotions were raw, strong and powerful to the point every emotion I could feel felt as though I was there alongside the characters. These characters bring an extra level of brilliance to this read, with incredible chemistry between the two its a story definitely not to be missed!
I cannot wait to see what else comes to this series, and what else this author can bring, she will definitely be on my go-to author list after this read! What an incredible book that should not be missed!

A Cold Dark Place by Toni Anderson is the first book in the Cold Justice series. The story follows Alex and Mallory and many twists and turns. I was immediately drawn into the story and didn’t want to put it down. I really enjoyed the suspenseful parts the most. There was action and twists and turns that kept me wanting to read more. The characters are interesting and like that we got a bit of the backstory of each of them. This really lent itself well to moving the story forward. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more in this series. I hope to see a continuation of the suspense in the upcoming books.

What an amazing read! I still have goose bumps after finishing it! When I first read the blurb for this book I thought it sounded good and Toni Anderson is a new to me author so I thought I would give it ago – I am so, so glad that I did! I was hooked from the very first page! It was a brilliant mix of romance and suspense that kept me on the edge of my seat and also turning the pages just to see what was going to happen next! Mallory was a great female lead and I could feel the passion she had for her job, she was determined to find out what happened to her twin sister. I was rooting for her the whole way through to finally get the answers she wanted. Alex was a really intriguing character and I loved reading about him – there was chemistry between him and Mallory that was quite evident. I really loved the mystery surrounding him although I was worried he would end up hurting Mallory – this is one of the things that kept me turning the pages as I wanted to find out what would happen with them. A Cold Dark Place was a fantastic 5 star romantic suspense novel that I highly recommend!

Brand new author for me, and has already been added to the OMG must read everything available. I can’t even put into words how much I loved this book. The character building, the flow, the storyline, the twists, the danger, the sitting on the edge of my seat moments…Everything was spot on for me.
Every emotion…i felt every one and the ending *sigh*, I could just ramble on for days and I already loved this genre but now because of this author I believe it is probably my chosen genre…Don’t get me wrong I love all the others too but I am a suspense fanatic and I love being a back seat crime solver.
I will have everything this author writes on my kindle before it’s over..I don’t know how I’ve gone so long without reading her work but here I am and I can not wait!!

This book had me consumed from start to finish. I loved the relationship between the good/bad. This story broke my heart for how hard Mallory worked to find answers and never made it anywhere, but it just goes to show how determined she was. And Alex, how can you fault a guy For fulfilling most people’s thoughts on what these monsters did, considering our justice system is flawed. I can’t wait to read more from this series if they’re anything at all like this book!

I am a huge fan of romantic suspense and psychological thrillers and Ms. Anderson certainly gave me an excellent one! From the first page this book had my attention, the author did a great job peaking my interest and holding my attention. This story had me on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t wait to see what would happen next. At one point I thought I had the killer figured out, but no, the author pulled a quick one. There were several twists and turns within the story I couldn’t tell what was going to happen next, truly a mark of a good author and I look forward to ready the rest of this series.

A Cold Dark Place (Cold Justice #1) by Toni Anderson is a gripping serial killer story with lots of suspense and a hot romance. The plot is well developed with several tantalising twists and turns that will have your heart pumping. Working toward the same goals but using different methods, exactly who is right or wrong. Secrets and lies that go beyond the realm of legal but again who is right or wrong. This is a fast paced story with a great mix of romance and mystery, deceit and suspense.
Alex has many secrets, but one he wants to walk away from, one that could destroy his chance at real happiness.
Mallory has lived her life under the spotlight of a terrible childhood tragedy, one that has led her on the path she is on today, but through it all there is only one thing that matters and that is finding the one person she loved more than anything in her life.
I am interested to see what the next book in the series brings.

A Cold Dark Place (Cold Justice #1) by Toni Anderson was an heart pounding thriller that had me hooked.
My first read by this author, I went in with a open mind and a hope for a gripping thriller. I was not let down, and I got everything I hope to get out of this dark suspense mystery.
Solid writing and a complex plot, right out of the gate the authors sets up the story, and the misdirection that leads to twist turns, and heart clutching moments. The MC’s are multi layer and believable. I did lean a little bit towards Alex, I found him to have more growth and likeability then Mallory. Don’t get me wrong Mallory is a pretty solid character, but I found she has some moments that made me shake my head, and there is one moment towards the end that has me wanting to slap the shit out of her, a very TSTD situation.
Overall this book was engaging, entertaining, and unpredictable. So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that this book will hooke you and drag you down into it’s cold darkness.

A Cold Dark Place by Toni Anderson is the first book in a ten book series and if the rest of the books are half as good as this one, then we are in for a wonderful ride. From the beginning, I was sucked in and it was very hard for me to put the book down to attend to my normal life. Between the chemistry of Alex and Mallory and the intrigue of who the killer may be, this is more than entertaining, its downright enthralling. I love a good thriller but some can be over wrought, too cliche, so I was surprised at how different this story was. It was captivating without seeming tired, familiar but with a twist. I found this book to be just what I needed, something new and exciting and I am eager to start book two.

A Cold Dark Place is book one in the Cold Justice series by Toni Anderson. I have been highly anticipating this story ever since reading the blurb. Instantly it grabbed my attention, and i wanted to escape into the very depths of this story immediately.
I was mesmerised by the leading characters from the moment I started their story. An assassin falling for an agent? It has danger, suspense, intensity, all tied up in one dramatic package. I connected with the characters, sympathised with them, laughed with them, cried with them, got angry for them. Felt it all with them. Reading this story was an exciting and memorable experience. As this was my first read by first author, I went in with my mind and eyes open. I was swept away by the quality of the story, the complexity of each character, and the energetic delivery. I cannot wait to see what comes next in this beguiling series. 5 stars.

The story is a romantic suspense- with mystery, a serial killer (or two), danger, shocks, twists, emotion, heart-stopping action, gruesome and chilling details…. and so much more. I was completely riveted by this compelling story and couldn’t put it down, devouring it in one sitting. This may have been my first read by Ms. Anderson, but I can guarantee that it won’t be my last! Mallory Rooney is an FBI agent with a passion for justice, who’s on the hunt for a serial killer. But her investigation brings up some perplexing questions that seem to point to a vigilante on the loose. She’s determined to find him and bring him to justice. A Cold Dark place is gripping and romantic. I was immediately pulled in after reading the first few pages. Alex and Mallory were both amazing characters. Mallory was very strong and I hate that she lost her twin at such a young age. It did play a huge role in the line of work she chose though. Alex is wow. His history to me was haunting. None the less he was still amazing and steamy. I loved this novel and look forward to reading more in this series.

It’s so hard to stay on the straight and narrow when every one is looking for shades of gray. Mallory has lost someone precious to her and she won’t stop looking until she finds her. I enjoyed this book more than I thought I would. The author gave amazing details and plotted every chapter well. I was sad at the end because life never goes the way we hope. I wanted every one to have a HEA. The story made the saying “A wolf in sheep clothing” so true. You learn to trust people and bam they’re not who you think they are. Alex is a cool dude. He did things that went against morals but I also see it as he took one more rapist or pedophile off the streets. I justice system is so screwed. You can get 20 years for dealing drugs but only 7 years for rape. Or in some cases 5 months of probation. I don’t think people should take the law into there own handed. I believe the system needs to change. I enjoyed this story for many reasons. The character development was on point. The plot wasn’t common and it was well thought out. This has never been one of my go to genres but this story sure makes me excited for more.

Yes! This romantic thriller will have you holding your breath in anticipation. Filled with suspense, I loved watching these characters walk through. The characters are believable, relatable, flawed, and complex. The author does a fantastic job carefully crafting the tale to keep the reader engaged from beginning to end. Just a fantastic book.

A Cold Dark Place by Toni Anderson is the first book in the Cold Justice series. This bookie well written and an absolute thrilling read. Alex and Mallory could not be more suit and yet ill-suited at the same time. The chemistry between them, the connection they have, was so good to read about. You wanted to find a way to work past all the secrets that were bound to come out. But at the same time you couldn’t possibly guess how they would work it out. The story was great as well. With t all relating back to Mallory’s sister it gave an emotional depth that I hadn’t expected. As the first book I have read by this author I found it to be enjoyable and thrilling. I am looking forward to book 2.

The story A Cold Dark Place (Cold Justice Book 1) by Toni Anderson is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a thrilling story that also has mystery and romance. It is a book that hooks you in right from the beginning and doesn’t let go until you have read the final page. I found myself on the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. I enjoyed reading about the characters of Alex Parker and Mallory Rooney Alex is a man that is part of a secret government agency that takes care of those who harm others before they reach the justice system. He is good at what he does. He also holds onto guilt from the past. Special Agent Mallory Rooney is a woman who is beautiful, strong, and independent. She has always felt guilt over the abduction of her identical twin sister. She has always lived in the shadow of that event. Both Alex and Mallory have a past that haunts them. They are both characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read and wanted them to find happiness. What will happen when Alex is ordered to watch Mallory because of questions she is asking about a vigilante killer? Is Mallory in danger now that she has started investigating a serial killer? There is an attraction between Alex and Mallory. Will the feelings/emotions that they have be destroyed by the lies and betrayal of Alex’s life? What does the future hold for Mallory and Alex? Read this book to find out. This is a story that had me turning pages. It is suspenseful. The story is written with a lot of detail regarding the investigation of a serial killer and I felt like I was right there with the characters trying to put together the clues and leads of the case. I also enjoyed reading about the part that many of the secondary characters had and their interactions with Alex and Mallory. There is intense and romantic dialogue. There are some steamy moments that make the temperature in the room rise. There are twists and turns that I didn’t see coming. Don’t miss out on an amazing story that had me reminding myself to breathe! I highly recommend it.

This is a suspense, romantic, mystery that is engaging and creative. Mallory is an FBI agent who has tailored her career around her sister being abducted and now she is on an undercover mission to track down a vigilant. Then you have Alex whose job it is to take out any serial killers and the like. He questions his life when he is sent to look after her. They are great characters that make this story for me plus wait to you see their chemistry! I highly recommend this book, worth picking up.

Well, that plan backfired and she ended up in the Canadian prairies with her biology professor husband, two kids, a rescue dog, and one chilled leopard gecko. Her greatest achievements are mastering the Tokyo subway, climbing Ben Lomond, snorkelling the Great Barrier Reef, and surviving fourteen Winnipeg winters. She loves to travel for research purposes and was lucky enough to visit the Strategic Information and Operations Center inside FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. in 2016, and she also got to shove another car off the road during pursuit training at the Writer’s Police Academy in Wisconsin.
