Unlikely to Fit (Parker Lake) by Olivia Sherwood – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Unlikely to Fit (A Parker Lake Novel Book 2)Unlikely to Fit by Olivia Sherwood
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Unlikely to Fit is a romance that is about coming home, finding love again, and all the heartache and happiness in between. Having not read any of this authors work, I was keen to begin. And it was an amazing story. Tear inducing dramatics. Breckin and Griffin both hale from Parker, Oklahoma. Griffin returns brokenhearted, Breckin returns a little bitter and jaded.

Griffin was no stranger to tragedy, and was destined to be alone for the rest of his life. His story touched me deeply. He had made a promise and was determined never to break it. He was the listener, the advisor, the voice of reason and always had a shoulder to cry on. He was a gallant friend and was content to work and hang out with his friends, but go home alone.

Breckin had her scars, but her story was different. She chose the wrong person to invest in and got burnt in the process. She just wanted to be a part of something and not alone. She was scared to put herself out there again romantically. Her story is not uncommon, but was unique in its own right.

Olivia Sherwood provided a gripping and emotional second chance story that sucked you in and kept you totally enthralled from go to woe. It had highs and lows and all the excitement in between. As far as this particular trope goes, Unlikely to Fit was up there with the best. Their journey was over before I was ready, but I have some really great moments spent with these incredible characters and am left with lasting memories of a wonderful story. 5 stars.

Still Taking ChancesStill Taking Chances by Roz Lee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Taking Chances is a BDSM romance by Roz Lee. This author is incredibly versatile and man, what an imagination. This book was so passionate, so raw, so erotic, so amazing. Scarred characters who shared a deep seated connection and provided me with endless breathtaking moments. I have not read a story of this high quality in this genre for an age. It was such a riveting and enthralling story, with believable characters and a stunning. It contained such fantastic content, and got the heart rate elevated and made me sweat with intensity. A story of epic sensuality. 5 stars.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Fate, Frankincense & Funerals is an M/M paranormal romance by Naomi Valkyrie. Having not read this author’s work, I was a little excited to see what I would discover. It was a really good read. Although very short and a little rushed, I got the plot and readied myself for an entertaining story. As the M/M trope is my second favourite, this story was a delight in its uniqueness, creativity and originality. A lot of thought went into this short story and it was well set out. I liked the characters and found it was a fantastic way to spend a Sunday afternoon. Short, to the point and thought provoking. 4 stars.

LUKE (DEFAULT DISTRACTION #4) by A. S. Roberts – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Luke (Default Distraction #4)Luke by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Luke is book four in the Default Distraction series by A.S. Roberts. Rocking romances are a favourite of mine and this author writes terrific, emotional and intensely sensual stories. She ignites an insatiable hunger for more and her characters are acutely individual and deeply intriguing. Some wear their hearts on their sleeves, while others are surrounded by a shroud of mystery. Her leading ladies are helpless against these men and set out to burrow deeply under their skin and steal their hearts for eternity.

Luke and Nikki were an absolute tumultuous joy to read about. Daughters, desirable nannies and a man fighting a personal struggle, this story has it all. I was unable to put this book down. It was just too beguiling. Too arousing. Too powerful. But not too believable. It was passionate, deep and entertaining. I could not have wanted for more. I fell hard for these two and the eclectic bunch that is Default Distraction. Author Roberts, you should be proud. This was an outstanding story. Also, part of an unforgettable series. 5 stars.

Cade (Default Distraction #3)Cade by A.S. Roberts
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Cade is book three in the Default Distraction series by A. S. Roberts. What can I say about Cade? He has more money than you could poke a stick at, is an insanely talented drummer for one of the hottest bands in the world, has ties to the mafia, and likes to walk on the wild side. I am totally addicted to this author’s dialogue, her characters and the easy way the story flows. It’s effortless perfection. Not knowing what could happen next, I was on edge nearly the whole time. Dramatic flair, crotchety characters and a forbidden attraction thrown in makes for a delectable story that is terribly compelling. Falling for your band mate’s sister was always going to cause friction and fireworks, and what a spectacle it was. And utterly riveting. I obsessively devoured Cade and his journey and can truly recommend this bad boy and his band of colourful cohorts. It is a definite must read. You will be addicted in no time. 5 stars.

The GroomsmanThe Groomsman by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Groomsman is a fantastic and arousing contemporary romance. I was instantly enamoured by this story and the author’s play on words. Instantly immersed and hanging on every word. It began sexily and the heat just got hotter as the book got longer. Each character was magnetic and totally beguiling. Dialogue was believable and descriptive. Each scene breathed stimulation and allure. Playing hard to get became a thrilling chase. And it was incredibly salacious. An imaginative tale that oozed charisma and clashing personalities. And lots of heat. Packed full of all the pleasures that I love in a romance. A fascinating abundance of titillating attraction at its finest . 5 stars.

Blood Oath (Mafia Elite, #2)Blood Oath by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Blood Oath is book two in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. This story kept me on the knife’s edge. Loved everything about this book . The names I loved. The complexity of each personality was individual and eclectic. The unfolding of their love story was a constant tantalising of the senses. Enzo and Sofia’s passionate feelings for each other was evident in each word the author shared. Their connection was enviable and beautiful. Secrets, danger and all.

These types of stories are an insatiable craving. I can never get enough. When Amy McKinley releases a mafia romance, you know you will be swept away by the creativity and blown away by the descriptive substance and rough edged characters. I am forever drawn to the dramatics and suspense. 5 stars.

Snowflakes & Stockings (A Wilton Hills Christmas, #4)Snowflakes & Stockings by Marianne Rice
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Snowflakes and Stockings is book four in the Wilton Hills Christmas series by Marianne Rice. This story was well presented and thought out. The characters are solid and very entertaining. The story flows along nicely and it was very easy to forget the world and escape reality for a little while. Mystery, mayhem and excitement seemed to follow Liberty and she was so easy to like. Her personality was endearing and her tenacity and determination, and her love for her loud family was immeasurable. Sawyer was a little harder to get to know. He definitely was the bigger mystery. It was honestly a real pleasure to pick at his personality and idiosyncrasies. The romance between them was spicy and hot. Chemistry was at an all time high and I found I had trouble putting this one down. An edgy entertainer filled with laughs and healthy tension. 4 stars.

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour) by Victoria Zak – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Rock Me To The Top (Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour Book One)Rock Me To The Top by Victoria Zak
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Rock Me to the Top is book one in the Gracefall: Vicious Love Tour series by Victoria Zak. This author is a new discovery. And what a refreshing and arousing delight this story was. There was a sensuality that was extremely addictive and Joe and Melody were the most enticing couple. Joe was a rock star drummer. Rough around the edges perfection. He was your typical bad boy star with that extra zing. He possessed a little something special that was undeniably alluring. Melody knew the rocker life and while maybe she was a little crazy for even contemplating a life wit ha rocker, she was unable to deny the attraction that sizzled between them. Secrets would threaten to wreck their world. There was always one problem after another and the odds seemed to be stacked against them. It was such a drawn out drama that made me insatiable for more. In a quest for the elusive happy ever after, once they get used to the idea of a them, these two go at it guns blazing. You would think their relationship would be just about impossible, being friends first and all, and the whole rocker lifestyle being so difficult and temperamental, but no, their incredible personalities shone through the pages and they gave it their all. This story provided an endless unveiling of true love, loyalty, honour and tenacity. a brilliant 5 star read.

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection #3) by Nikki Lynn Barrett – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Snowfall Serenade (Soul Connection, #3)Snowfall Serenade by Nikki Lynn Barrett
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Snowfall Serenade is book three in the Soul Connection series by Nikki Lynn Barrett. This story captivated me from the blurb. I was intrigued by the little taste the author gave of the content. It was very well written and sucked me in from the beginning. A lot of emotions unfolded throughout this book. A lot happened to Zelda and Scott during their time together. There was drama aplenty with secrets, life changing events and the inner struggle to cope with the new norm. This story was engaging and endearing. Hard to cope with moments and difficult feelings to deal with, Zelda did well to keep hold of reality. Scott had to deal with new abilities, secrets being unravelled and learning how to forgive. It was a tumultuous journey, but one that was fulfilling and a true delight to read. Author Barrett spun a masterful tale that seized my attention and left me with a warm and contented feeling. 4 stars

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow Duet Book 1) by Amy Argent – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Come Back Tomorrow (Embrace Tomorrow, #1)Come Back Tomorrow by Amy Argent
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Come Back Tomorrow is book one in the Embrace Tomorrow Duet by Amy Argent. I went in with an open mind when reading this new to me author. I can honestly say this book destroyed me. It gripped me so tragically that I was feeling all that the characters were going through. Come Back Tomorrow is a deeply emotional and devastating tale of compassion, connection, understanding, acceptance, determination, hopelessness, optimism, helplessness. It also depicted courage, incredible strength, endurance, love, passion, sadness, frustration and fierceness. It touches on the harrowing journey that is the battle of Will’s life. I have never read a more descriptive, and desolating story that just utterly broke me. I marvelled at the way the author set this up. The execution was meant for maximum impact an boy she did not miss the mark. I felt as if I was wrung out and put through a grinder. I was stripped raw emotionally and never has two characters left me totally spellbound and enamoured by their tragic circumstances. But in all that heartbreaking sadness, the frightening thoughts that any day could be the last, Will and his angel somehow managed to push through the adversity and the insurmountable odds stacked against them. The incredible inner strength that this woman had was impressive and totally selfless. The good times were so few and the bad times seem to go on endlessly. And I, the reader, was along for the ride. It literally hit high levels and then plummeted so fast that there was little hope that there would be a happy ending. In all honesty, this book is not for the fainthearted. It was one of the most difficult stories I have ever read. It left me totally depleted and unable to comprehend what just happened. It was one of the most harrowing stories imaginable, but one of the best written stories I have ever been honoured to read. As hard as it was, this story has left me with some of the most beautiful memories I have ever had from a story. I can say that it was a wildly touching story and one that I will never forget. These types of stories leave a lasting impression and not a lot of authors have the talent to pull it off. Amy Argent unveiled an unforgettable and courageous tale of a war unlike any other, and the lengths people go to survive, the lengths their loved ones will go to lessen the burden and provide unwavering love and support, and the relentless desire to conquer this devastating disease that robs the world of way too many. A compellingly moving story that will be hard to move on from. And the stunning conclusion awaits. What is in store for Will and his angel? I cannot wait to find out. 5 stars.

Forever: A Diamond Doms Novel by Ivy Nelson – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Forever (Diamond Doms #9)Forever by Ivy Nelson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forever is book nine in the Diamond Doms series by Ivy Nelson. I am new to this author’s work, so I am entering this series at the wrong end. BUT!!! In no way did that take anything away from this story. This story was sexy, very arousing, intriguing and just totally enthralling. I was very intrigued by the very short blurb. It drew me in instantly. I had to know about this couple and try to work my way around all that I missed from coming in for the last book. The characters were insatiable and very entertaining. I was drawn to the way the author portrayed each character. The interaction between them was magnetic and impossible to drag your attention away from. This was a one sitting read for me. I could not put it down. There is nothing better than a take charge man who is dominant but considerate. They are not afraid to be heavy handed but it is all with the care of their partner foremost in their minds. There was so much to this story that tickled my senses and appealed to my little smutty mind. It was so well and respectfully written, with suspense, mystery and lots of energetic activity. Hats off to Ivy Nelson. I done things backward by reading the last book first, but I am definitely going to be purchasing the entire series and diving in asap. A steamy hot and cleverly written story that will get the blood pumping and the heart racing. But do yourself a favour and start from book one to experience all that I am sure this series is. 5 stars.

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 6) by Via Mari – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Tenacious (Billionaire Bodyguards # 6)Tenacious by Via Mari
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Queen of bossy, filthy rich alpha man is back. Bringing yet another dramatic and passionate story that blows the mind. These stories make you weep and salivate. The hotness is almost unbearable. Almost. The challenge that is these characters draws you in and nothing else matter but finding out more. Reading that next chapter becomes the most important thing in existence. Via Mari has this genre all worked out and delivers a drama perfectly and with razor sharp precision. Target is hit every single time.

Tenacious was everything dreamy about this trope. As far as the characters so far in this series, I loved Allie and Nick the most. There was just a little something more that stood out in their story. That extra chemistry between the two. The magnetic desire that literally pulsed through the pages made this book seriously difficult to put down. The dialogue was forward and nothing withheld. I loved the tenacity that was the emphasis of the story. Pretty much every aspect of Tenacious I loved. This author executed the perfect story and I simply could not get enough. Bring on more of these sexy men and their divine ladies. 5 stars.

I haven’t read anything by this author and while I enjoyed the story, I believe I would have benefited by reading the first two books. Although I felt a little left behind, the story was an easy to read and entertaining one. I love a brothers best friend love story, and this one delivered all the good elements that make these stories unputdownable. It was really good and the characters were easy to relate to and the storyline believable. My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Born to Fight is book one in the Can’t Resist You series by Brittany Anne. This is a science fiction romance, and while I don’t tend to read this genre, this story was really quite mesmirising. Extremely dramatic and sexy, the chemistry between the leading characters was explosive and steamy. A sweary, sweaty seduction set in a post-apocalyptic time that was imaginative and cleverly written. This author is new to me and I went in with a very open mind. I think I have found another trope to sink into. I am looking forward to reading more of her work.

Kiss Me Before Flight by Thia Finn is a stunning second chance love story. This is my first read by this author, and it was a gripping, emotional and riveting story, with wonderful characters and a heartbreaking and honest storyline. This story is about violence, brutality at the hands of a monster, unexpected love and rediscovering oneself. Triumph reigns and dramatic scenes are plentiful. This story is about more than just romance. It is about new friendships, finding strength in the most unusual circumstances, finding the path to happiness and building destroyed self confidence. Callie’s faith in humanity is restored when she meets Conrad and the many people who offer endless support and encouragement. Kiss Me Before Flight was wonderfully written and perfectly executed. Often hard to read and deeply emotional, this remarkable tale delivers the message that love can heal even the deepest of wounds and happiness can be found when you aren’t even looking. 4 stars.

Swindler’s Revenge is book five in the Karina Cardinal Mysteries by Ellen Butler. A new to me author, this story was a great way to sink my teeth into Ellen Butler’s work. I was cackling away from the very first chapter. The engagement with Karina was instant. This rebel has an agenda and it’s not just to solve a mystery. This character is constantly busy and drama is ever present at ever chapter. Karina’s quick wit is enviable, her personality larger than life, and the author’s portrayal of each character encouraging.

No Way Out (Mafia Elite, #1)No Way Out by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

No Way Out is book one in the Mafia Elite series by Amy McKinley. Every time is like the first time of ever picking up a book when I read a story by this author. That first feeling of awe, wonder and total contentment as you have found the thing that makes you the most happiest in life. A beautifully written story. I have not felt that discovery of love for books since my first memory of reading. To recapture that rapturous feeling was unexpected but very welcome. Now to the story. There is nothing better than being kept on the knife’s edge with a good mafia romance. This author demonstrates acute imagination and gives the characters depth, immense strength and and more personality that a person may be able to cope with. I get lost in these amazing characters. Totally immersed in the journey. And blissfully content while lost in Max and Liliana.

No Way Out was anxiety riddled, dramatic, fast paced, dangerous, arousing and irresistible. Amy McKinley rose above even my wildest expectations and ruined me for other stories of this trope. I am totally owned by each characters and what they portray. A stunning beginning to a series I have no doubt will be unforgettable. 5 stars.

THE MARCY SERIES BOXSET: BOOKS 1-3 by Linda J. Burson – Review by Tracy Wilkin

The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3The Marcy Series Box Set: Books 1-3 by Linda Burson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This trilogy is one of the most addictive and suspenseful drama’s I have ever read. The three book in the series is Rage, Confusion and Agony and Ecstasy. Linda Burson delivers a crafty and superbly written mystery that I was powerless to part from. You become instantly immersed in the characters and their lives and your life will be more content and fulfilled having read them.

Rage is book 1 in the Marcy Series written by Linda Burson. Rage is the first book by this author that I have read. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and free flowing drama that made up this story.

Marcy was a complex character in many ways, but very simple in others. She also was dramatically erratic. That just made her more endearing. I did not warm to the love of her life quickly or completely. I think he has something he is hiding. Liam is a total different matter entirely. He was a puzzle just busting to be solved. There were many ups and downs throughout, and I lost my way a little, but overall it was a mighty fine read. The story flowed reasonably well, with intrigue, mystery and lots of action. This book was very active and the characters were a delight to get to know.

Linda Burson penned an entertaining and fast paced story, with suspense aplenty. A thoroughly splendid story which will leave a reader hungry for more from this author.

The tantalising trio are back in Confusion, book 2 in the Karcy series by Linda Burson. I sank into this story as I was intrigued by these characters and wondered what this author had in store for us readers this time.

Marcy, Brad and Liam led me on quite the mission, with ke having no idea of the outcome of Confusion. Marcy was her usual endearing self, Liam just got more attractive and sensual. But Brad annoyed me no end. His character was needed to spice up the drama, but he just appeals to me less and less. I will always have ky heart set on Marcy and Liam together as a couple, and Brad just cramps that style.

Linda Burson added so much to this series with slightly loony characters and the twisty, thrilling mystery to each chapter kept me entertained for hours. I cannot wait for number three.

This melodramatic tale that entwines three exceptional characters comes to a stunning conclusion in Agony and Ecstasy. The quality in which Linda Burson has written this mesmerizing series is captivating and never lacks intensity. This high energy reading experience will be hard to beat.

For Marcy, Liam and Brad, the rollercoaster that is life seems to be on a continuous loop, with no hint of it ever calming down. There were a lot of nail biting moments, and a lot of tears shed. A thoroughly absorbing escape from reality that left quite a profound impression.

This book and series is truly a fabulous read, and one I can highly praise. 4 stars.

Slow Burn is book two in the Breathing Hearts series by A.K. Macbride. The pendulum swung in every emotional direction in this story. There was humour, sadness, tension, conflict, and a whole plethora of feels for a reader to bask in. The story was engaging and addictive. The characters were lovable and ridiculously entertaining. This story made me deliriously happy and kept me on edge for hours. I totally immersed myself in this vibrant cast and got lost in the journey. A stunning addition to a series that is becoming a passion of mine. 5 stars.
