Bovine TricksBovine Tricks by Seelie Kay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Bovine Tricks is book one in the Royals Gone Rogue series by Seelie Kay. This was a fabulous short story that was a little different than what I have read by this author. It was a real delight to read the mysterious tale of suspense and intrigue. Tillie and Abdul are tasked with rescuing and returning a royal to the Queen. A dangerous journey that uncovers many surprises has Tillie and Abdul trying to fight their attraction to each other and complete the mission successfully. With obstacles coming at them at every direction, this story was energetic and edgy. A real thrilling and captivating story. 4 stars.

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss Book 1) by Carmen Richter – Review by Tracy Wilkin

My Lips Are Sealed (Sealed With a Kiss #1)My Lips Are Sealed by Carmen Richter
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

My Lips Are Sealed is book one in the Sealed With a Kiss series by Carmen Richter. This is part of a trilogy and needs to be read in order. My Lips Are Sealed is a new adult romance but can be enjoyed by all ages. I really got into this story and was quite surprised by the style in which the author wrote the story. The characters were intelligent, yet a little naive. Zoe had a lot going on for her young age. Elijah came into her life at a very pivotal time in her life. There was a little of a lot to this story. A little intrigue, a little tension, a little betrayal, a little teen angst, and a lot of discovery and maturing. The author captures the inner feelings of each character. Some I loved, some I detested. But all provoked thoughts and impressions. The story was well thought out and the delivery was well executed. I felt completely enthralled by this story and felt the impact of all that is this amazing tale. 4 stars.

Love Unexpected by Marina Hanna – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Love UnexpectedLove Unexpected by Marina Hanna
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Love Unexpected was just that. Unexpected. I did not expect to absolutely love Jules and Adam. I did not expect to be enthralled by this new to me author. But I was. The blurb intrigued me. The story blew my mind. It was more than your typical taming of the wild man that never intended to settle down. The author penned this with a clever eye for detail. And one crazy wicked sense of humour. There was serious moments, and the tension was palpable between Adam and Jules. They complimented each other perfectly and gave me endless thrills and feelings of delight and enjoyment. Love Unexpected was a blissfully captivating story and I have found another ridiculously talented author to add to my ever growing bookshelf. 5 stars.

Try Right (Aloha Series book 3) by Jill Brashear – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Try RightTry Right by Jill Brashear
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Try Right is book three in the Aloha series by Jill Brashear. This racy little story is set in the late sixties, in Hawaii, and the two main characters are Claudia and Henry. I have not read book one or two, and while these are stand alone stories, I think I would have benefited from reading the first and second books before reading Try Right. Nevertheless, the story was enjoyable, with energetic characters who were witty, passionate and magnetic. Claudia was an actress and Henry a stuntman. Used to the finest of Hollywood, Claudia is given a career lifeline in Hawaii, where her first love is from. There were shenanigans galore and the laughs were frequent. A flashy, fun and crafty little romance, with a little sass and lots of heart. 4 stars

Relentless: Dark Billionaire Mafia Romance (Billionaire Bodyguards Book 4) by Via Mari – Review by Tracy Wilkin

RelentlessRelentless by Via Mari

Relentless was a powerful and riveting story. I absolutely fell right into Dereck and Layla’s world form the first page. It was sexy and seductive. It had all the good stuff. I have become an avid fan of Via Mari as an author, and admire the talent and obvious work that goes into each character and each story. The attention grabbing plot explosions are always exciting and enthralling. Dereck oozes magnetism and Layla is his perfectly imperfect match. Sometimes, as a series grows in size, it tends to lose the wow factor of previous stories. That is not the case with the Billionaire Bodyguard series. Each book in the series offers original characters and imaginative and creative storylines. . Not many authors can pull it off so cleverly. Via Mari can. And I am so happy about that. 5 stars.

Seductive Prey (Relentless #1)Seductive Prey by Vivian Fiano
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Seductive Prey is book one in the Relentless Trilogy by Vivian Fiano. My first time sampling this author’s and I was stunned by the quality of the story and mesmerised by the characters. Complex, compassionate and entertaining, Seductive Prey was suspenseful and spellbinding. It was hard to put down and left me breathless throughout many moments with the cast of this charismatic and mysterious tale. The story was easy to get sucked into and there were many oh my goodness moments. This story is not for young readers and should be enjoyed by an adult audience.

Grant and Jordan’s attraction was raging hot and their chemistry was explosive. The danger was ever present and they always had to be on guard and alert to their surroundings. Jordan was being stalked and Grant took on the role of protector while pursuing their attraction with tenacious ferocity. It was constantly thrilling and that edgy danger was insanely compelling. A brilliant beginning to a sensual and dramatic trilogy. 5 stars.

The SEAL’s Temptation (Wounded Hearts Book 7) by Jacquie Biggar – Review by Tracy Wilkin

The SEAL's Temptation (Wounded Hearts #7)The SEAL’s Temptation by Jacquie Biggar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The SEALS Temptation is book seven in the Wounded Hearts series by Jacquie Biggar. I have not read this author’s work before, so it took a little while to get into the story. But once I did, I could not put it down. Maggie and Frank’s story interested me from the beginning. I love this military romance genre, and having a woman as an agent is not something common, which makes it more exciting. I also love the way of life a soldier. It is very close to my heart as my son is a soldier. The camaraderie and sense of family is paramount and loyalty among brothers dominant in any soldier. It was an exciting and heartfelt joy to read Maggie and Frank’s journey. It was not an easy for them and their lives were constantly fraught with danger, uncertainty and risky situations. Throw Maggie’s partner Adam and you have a nice little love triangle that keeps things very interesting indeed. With passion, discovery and an epic battle of will between these two fascinating characters, this story was engaging and electrifying. There was always something going on and one drama after another to overcome. Overall a intriguing and very busy tale. 4 stars.

Spiteful Punks: dolls and douchebags part oneSpiteful Punks: dolls and douchebags part one by Madeline Fay
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Spiteful Punks is Part One of the Dolls and Douchebags series by Madeline Fay. This is a new author for me and she had me at the blurb. This book is everything that the title and the blurb describes. Plus more. It is dark. It is dangerous. It is thought provoking. It is shocking. It is quite literally unlike anything I have read in ages. The storyline was very descriptive, and the characters were tormented and there were some confronting issues present. Spiteful Punks was a very emotional and dark twisted tale. Just the way I like my stories. 4 stars.

In Plain Sight ( The Broken Bow Book 3) by Ashley A Quinn – Review by Tracy Wilkin

In Plain Sight (Broken Bow Book #3)In Plain Sight by Ashley A Quinn
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In Plain Sight was a suspenseful and gripping story that was hugely addictive and hard to put down. Immersing myself easily into the lives of Rayna and Thomas, I was swept away on yet another thrilling and dangerous ride. This is the third book in the Broken Bow series by Ashley A Quinn, and I really enjoy the way this author weaves intrigue and mystery into her stories, along with romance and enough sexual tension to burn the pages. Boone County was a dangerous place, and when Rayna and Thomas join forces to find the answers to the questions she has about the abused boy she found in the field, she risks her heart all over again. The dastardly secrets that shroud her town has her seeking answers and making herself a target.

In Plain Sight was an engaging and deeply riveting story that was easy to escape into. An attention grabbing mystery with heat and heart. A fantastic way to spend a rainy day. 4 stars.

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety (The Cecily Taylor Series #2)In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety by Krysten Lindsay Hager
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

In Over Her Head: Lights, Camera, Anxiety is book two in the Cecily Taylor series by Krysten Lindsay Hager. This series is a fabulous one for the young lover of romance. They are sweet with just enough angst and drama to keep you avidly glued to the pages, without being too descriptive or suggestive. Cecily seems to have it all. A career that was about to take off, a boyfriend that was both sweet and attentive, and a life that was envied and respected. But there would not be a story if there wasn’t dramatics, emotions and something to test the characters. It is what keeps me going back for more and turning each page. This story is one to be enjoyed by all ages, but it will definitely appeal to the young. And the young at heart. 4 stars.

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, book 3) by Amy McKinley – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Forged by Secrets (Deadly Isles Special Ops, #3)Forged by Secrets by Amy McKinley
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Forged by Secrets is book three in the Deadly Isles Special Ops series by Amy McKinley. This book book was intensely nerve wracking and had my anxiety levels at a high level. The foundation of this series was set in the previous stories, but I have to say that Tyler and Malina stole every thought and feeling from me, making the other stories fade into the background slightly. Tyler was this strong SEAL and the games he played with Malina were funny as well as endearing. While it was frustrating for Malina, I loved the dickens out of it. Malina was an extremely guarded woman, but you get why as you get further into the story. She wants what everyone around her has, but it seems out of reach for her and Tyler. She is not prepared to take the risk on admitting her feelings. She believed she could not afford to be weak. Her and Tyler together were a bigger force than even she could have anticipated. When guards are dropped and true feelings are laid out on the table, all bets are off and Tyler goes to battle for her, all guns blazing.

Amy McKinley has the crafty ability of just unveiling enough to get a reader thinking thy know what will happen without giving it all away. All with an intense subtlety that takes incredible skill. The suspense will stretch every nerve and the anticipation will almost break you. But you will be enthralled, thrilled and blown away by these characters from this special ops team. I love this series, but Tyler and Malina hold that special spot in my memories. 5 stars.

Scorching Hot Mess by Brooke May – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Scorching Hot MessScorching Hot Mess by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Scorching Hot Mess was without a doubt one of the funniest stories I have read in a long time. Brooke May just captured the very essence of a thrilling and captivating read. I was enamoured by Willow and Gun. She was absolutely hilarious and her match was meat with Gun. The charismatic and enigmatic personalities were impossible to ignore, and was totally invested in them pursuing their happily ever after. Excitement was always at the turn of the page. Drama was never far behind. All that a reader could ever want at the tips of all page turning fingers. Willow and Gun were a couple that were meant to be. And the thrills and spills along the way just made their story that much more entertaining. Alcohol and raging hormones are never a good combination, but the level of passion and compatibility was electric. 4 stars

Daisy’s Darkness (Wheels & Hogs Book 6) by D.M. Earl – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Daisy's Darkness (Wheels & Hogs #6)Daisy’s Darkness by D.M. Earl
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Daisy’s Darkness is book six in the Wheels and Hogs series by D. M. Earl. Daisy’s story is a beautifully emotional that was as heartbreaking to read as it was heartwarming. Author Earl addresses some issues that our young adults have to struggle with in day to day life. A person is so impressionable at that age and this author has captured all those emotions, highs, lows, extremely well. The story was written very well and the story was really relatable. Daisy does not realise her self worth and is a victim of bullying. Her soul was hurting from the weight she carried and the pain she endured just by surviving another day.

Daisy’s Darkness was an unexpected surprise and the story left me battered but elated that I got to experience it in its raw and life like state. 5 stars.

Twisted Throttle is book three in the Satan’s Devils MC Second Generation series by Manda Mellett. This is an action packed story about the kids of the original Satan’s Devils bikers and their dramatic lives. The MC genre has always drawn me. The leading man sees his life going one way, and he is totally blindsided when it unfolds a different way.

Manda Mellett details larger than life characters, the continuation of her exciting biker life, and everything a reader comes to expect from this author. Sons of SindicatoSons of Sindicato by Sonya Jesus & Cam Johns
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Sons of Sindicato is a dark romance between a lawyer and a high profile member of a crime family. It was written by Sonya Jesus and Cam Johns. A fascinating literary combination. Murder, mystery and mayhem follow this pair from the beginning. This is not a long story, but it lacks nothing. It has intensity, attraction, distrust, prejudice, uncertainty and accusation. The main characters had this incredible and charismatic connection. By all accounts, their love was not meant to be. Loyalty was questioned. Self reflection was ever present. But while everything seemed against them, they made it work. Braelynn and Seth were a formidable couple that had a lot of hurdles to overcome before they could enjoy their happy ever after. A fantastic short story that was electric and alluring. 4 stars.

8 Second Ride is an exciting and really short story by Shannon Nemechek. I have not read this author’s work before and enjoyed this story quite a bit. Tuck and Jessie’s story is a very quick one, but thoroughly entertaining. Enemies to begin with, the last thing Tuck wants to do is babysit spoilt little rich girl Jessie. They spit fire at each other, and lock horn many times, thus providing a charismatic and quirky story. It was edgy. It was sexy. It was thrilling. 4 stars.

A Hole (Alpha Bet Guys Book 1)A Hole by Phoebe Alexander
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Hole is book one in the Alpha Bet Guys series by the sensationally talented Phoebe Alexander. There is nothing better than humour and wit to titillate the literary taste buds. From start to finish this story had me totally bewitched. Ace was a desirable and funny character and Ella was just the perfect heroine. It was such a delight to read about an enviable and real sounding character. Not a barbie type that is totally unrealistic and doesn’t fit the story at all. Ella was perfect for Ace but meddling friends that mean well, but cannot help throwing in their two cents worth. A Hole was deeply addictive and empowering, all at the same time. I love nothing more than a feisty leading lady showing the leading man that she is strong, independent, but arousing as all get out. An irresistible combination that is difficult to drag oneself away from. A short, sexy and all out entertainer. A Hole ticked all the boxes for me. Great to read this amazing author’s work, once more. 5 stars.

Where Flowers Bloom by Nikki Vale – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Where Flowers BloomWhere Flowers Bloom by Nikki Vale
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

What a beautifully written romance full of suspense, seduction and rich in content. Where Flowers Bloom is a creatively evolving story of romance with a little history and mystery. It pretty much covered everything I like in a good read. As a first time reader of Nikki Vale’s work, it was a great introduction to her technique. This diverse cast of characters invaded my mind and thoughts, and they are still in my head. They have left a lasting impression. Kendyll was a little difficult to get a read on, but she intrigued me like not a lot of other characters have. Her appeal was incredible and I really enjoyed getting to know her. Wes was a lovable lad that I could not help but be totally enamoured with. For some reason the male characters are the ones I relate to first, and Wes was one of the easiest I found to get into. Tears, wonder, warmth and love were all felt during this book. Throw in Vance and you get a spicy and explosive twist to the tale. The story was set out well and delivered quite a punch. Passion with a punch. This story will keep you on the edge. 4 stars.

Killer Blonde by Allan Evans – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Killer BlondeKiller Blonde by Allan Evans
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Killer Blonde is an edgy thriller that will keep you invested and desperately trying to solve the mystery. Allan Evans is a new author to me and it has been years since I have read a book like this, or enjoyed it so much. A deadly game is entered, and the race against time begins. There was an urgency to catch the killer and prevent any more women becoming this cold blooded murderer’s next victim. There is nothing better than reading the events unfold and trying to guess who would commit these heinous crimes. The author engages his audience smartly and entirely. I am always thinking who could do it and asking why. I always like to know what makes a criminal tick and what could possibly cause someone to do these unthinkable things. Cade Dawkins has his work cut out for him and political pressure to close the case. Killer Blonde was an intense and vivid thriller that keeps you thinking about it long after you finish reading. 4 stars.

Nobody Knows (Razes Hell Book 1) by Kyra Lennon – Review by Tracy Wilkin

Nobody KnowsNobody Knows by Kyra Lennon
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Nobody Knows is book one in the Razes Hell series by Kyra Lennon. This is my first sample of this author’s work, and it was a fantastic read. Nobody Knows was emotionally charged, revealing and thought-provoking. The story centres around 3 friends, their friendship, and feelings growing between two of them. Hidden love never stays a secret for long, and this story unpacked a plethora of tension, secrecy, betrayal. Ellie and Drew cannot deny the attraction. What started as friendship, developed into so much more. I read this story with an acute sense of urgency. I am not sure what was driving these emotions. That is, until I read the story. I read it in one go. I could not put their story down. I was 100% invested in seeing their beginning turn into a beautiful and memorable love story. Kyra Lennon gave her characters real life situations to deal with, making this journey believable and relatable. The connection between the cast was enviable and passionate. Chill evoking mayhem. It had me wishing I could start their story all over again. Blisteringly good. Cleverly written. Worthy of 5 stars.
