My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This was a great festive read. We are back with our favourite vampire couple and their friend Gaston  as they overcome some more trouble in their path.

First obstacle comes when Jane runs over Santa. An accident she never expected but the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. Can she turn the jolly man into a creature of the night? What would be her punishment if she did? Or more importantly what would happen if she just left him to die?

The second obstacle Ethan and Jane have to face is breaking the news to Janes father that not only are they married but that Jane is now an undead vampire.
How will Jane’s father react? Will he accept his daughter as she is now or will he turn his back on her and Ethan.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romantic comedy. It is a delightful short read that is ironic, funny and whimsical and had me laughing out loud. New Orleans Nocturnes series is one of my favourites and Carrie makes everything seem believable. As usual the characters are wonderful, and the humour is to die for. Christmas will never be the same again.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is book 4 in the New Orleans Nocturnes by Carrie Pulkinen. Santa got run over by a Vampire is a short funny read. Jane Devereux always has a funny way to swear as a vampire and always has sassy’s comments. In book 4 Jane kills Santa and has to turn him into a vampire and she needs to teach him what it means to be a vampire. Carrie did an amazing job making me laugh having jane run Santa over and run around trying to make it all work out. I Seriously love Jane and could read about her all day long. If this series is not on your TBR pile once again I recommend it you wont be disappointed. Thank you to Carrie Pulkinen for another great read and look forward to reading more books by you.

Since discovering this series and all the clever titles, I’ve fallen in love with Carrie Pulkinen’s writing style and story telling. She is an amazing writer, truly. I wanted to read this story, since it is apart of the series but I feel like my feelings will be bias unfortunately.
I dislike Christmas and since I have such strong feelings about it – I feel as if I couldn’t get completely lost in the story. The reason I still gave this a decently high rate is because the story telling is still brilliant, I love the characters and the cross over as well.
If you like Christmas and all the holly, jolly feels it brings, then I recommend this book to you.

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire by Carrie Pulkinen a five-star read that will bring the spirit to you. This is a great Christmas story and falls as number four in the New Orleans Nocturn series and the whole series has just been so much fun, Jane Deveraux has always made me chuckle, but honestly watching her run around like a headless chicken just made me giggle so much, she may have caused all the stress herself, but honestly, she does not it without malice and just adds a great layer to the story. This has been so much fun to read and it is a great addition to the series.

I give Hunted by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk, 4 stars.

I really enjoy how the authors put their own spin on this vampire romance. Introducing the role playing game to me was ingenious. It made for an interesting and new base of a story. But this is not all this book has to offer. The characters in the story are what really makes this book so good. It’s not only the main characters, either. There are so many secondary characters that were quite interesting as well. I hope to see more of them in books to come too. But let us not forget Edith and Darren. They both have their own issues and misconceptions they have to try to overcome. The struggle and how they deal with them really make this book shine.

If you are a fan on interesting vampire romance, this book is for you.

I really enjoyed this book. I found the story interesting and fun. The best part of the story was watching the love between Edith and Darren. Hunted by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk is the first book in the Hunted series and was an incredible read! I was drawn in from the first chapter and had trouble putting this book down. This isn’t your typical vampire book, and I really enjoyed reading some of the quirks of vampire abilities I’ve never read in a book before. This book was jam packed with action, suspense, and a little bit of romance, enough to make this book feel like a very quick read. All of the characters were very enjoyable to read, especially Darren and his character development throughout the story. This was a great read and I can’t wait to read the next installment of the series!

I really enjoyed this story. It is a vampire romance which I always enjoy. The book drags you in and grips you from the beginning. The author’s does a great job writing the characters so you can’t help but feel the emotion they are going through.

Edith is a vampire. After her fiance dies in the war she is turned into a vampire and for 100 years she has lived with her “daughters” Hope and Angel.

Every year they hold a convention. Its seen as a role play weekend where people can see what the life of a vampire is like and if they want to they can also be turned.

However this time is different. Two of the people on the weekend are Hunters.

Darren and his younger brother Dan are trained as Hunters and its their job to rid the earth of vampires. When Dan goes missing Darren follows him and finds him at Edith’s weekend convention.

Things aren’t what they seem though and Darren and Edith need to work together to figure things out. The closer they work, the closer they become. Can a relationship between them ever work? Can Darren forget being a hunter to save Edith and her family? And what or who is working against them.

Hunted by Sarah Biglow & Molly Zenk – Review by Roxsanne Lesieur

HuntedHunted by Sarah Biglow
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is a tale of vampires and vampire hunters, two sets of people leading very different lives and each others lifelong enemies, but that is just most of the clans, however, the Heartsong Clan wants to change this perspective from one of violence to one of peace and coexistence, that is why they hold “Human vs Vampire” LARP reenactments so that humans can learn a bit about Vampire culture and then maybe chose to become one of them and this weekend is another of these events where humans and vampires mix together for a few days.

This book starts with Edith on her wedding day as she prepares to end her life, she has lost her love and sees nothing else to live for, she just wants to be with him, she is walking into the river with the stones in her pockets until someone calls to her from the bank, this person is Mr Heartsong, a vampire she knows from the VHA (Vampire Human Alliance) and he is trying to glamour her to convince her that Daniel would want her to continue to live and to be happy and also stop her from joining Daniel in death.

100 years to the day she turned, Edith is leading the LARP event with Hope and Angel her two daughters, they are just like any other family, apart from they are vampires and older than they look, as they man the booth where people sign up for the event, a young man, Caden comes to sit and chat with Parker, another vampire and the girls and it turns out he is there to help with the recruitment drive, Edith is initially reluctant to trust the young man, but decides to give him the benefit of the doubt when the girls say that they trust him with their lives, as does Parker. As the day goes on and more people sign up, they have their first “vampire” added to the list, Dan, he is friends with the girls and Caden and it seems that he wants to learn more about the vampire way of life.

Next we meet Darren who is Dan’s brother and only wants to chaperone him to the nerdy convention that his brother is interested in attending, but he feels uncomfortable as soon as he enters the building where he can’t tell the humans and the vampires apart and as a hunter, it is something that he hates. He realises that he has lost Dan in the crowds, but remembers that he spoke about going to meet some friends while there, but getting there that late in the day, Darren is a little worried about him and starts to stress out when he can no longer see him because of their history. Darren has intel that the Heartsong Clan are recruiting at the event and he prays that that isn’t why Dan is here, however, if he is, then it will be a great way to get some inside intel on the Clan while meeting his brothers friends.

This is where Edith and Darren come face to face and meet for the first time and although the insistent banging on her office door is giving her a migraine, she remains polite and as she opens the door, another wave of memories hit her. It is then that he asks to join in the LARP and reluctantly, Edith agrees and gives him a tour of where he will be staying for the weekend, as they do this, Edith explains the rules of the weekend and the game play, as well as what will happen and when. When they see a group with Dan in, Darren takes him to one side and they have an argument about why Dan is there and why he left Darren in the convention and neither of them is happy with the situation, but they both go to the dining room when the bell is sounded for the meal. It is later that night when Darren decides to go and check that Dan is alright that all hell breaks loose as the weekend takes a turn for the worse and this leads to Darrens worst fears, that Dan is in danger and he is realising that Edith is not like any other vampire he has ever met.

Will Dan and Darren be able to escape the convention, or will the vampires show their true natures? Will Edith be able to come to terms with the memories which are flooding back and be honest with herself and Darren and will he be able to be honest with her as they grow closer? The only way to find out is to read along and discover their revelations at the same time they do.

I enjoyed this paranormal Christmas story. I found this story to be entertaining, easy to read and just a fun plot. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites by her and for the holiday season. Jane is back in this holiday season story. She is adjusting great to being a vampire and being married to one. Until she ran over Santa! Now she is faced with having to turn Santa into a vampire and get him to the North Pole so he can deliver presents. Not only does she have all that but her dad is coming and he doesn’t know she is a vampire nor married. I highly recommend reading this book to find out how it all turns out for Jane and how she gets through it. This really is a great Christmas story that is full of magic and spirit. The characters bring the story to life and make it entertaining to read.

Hunted by Sarah Biglow and Molly Zenk is a collaboration between two fantastic authors which has resulted in a great fantasy story that will really grab your attention. I loved the combination of fantasy and geek with the LARP storyline, it isn’t something I recall seeing before but I definitely enjoyed the way they were brought together in this book.
The characters were strong and really connected well. Their worlds were completely adverse to one another and yet the way they tried to make something work was great to see.
I have read both of these authors previously and I loved the fact that they have combined their talents to produce this gem. This is a thoroughly enjoyable book and I hope to see more of them together in the future.

Carrie Pulkinen is a paranormal romance author who has always been fascinated with things that go bump in the night. Of course, when you grow up next door to a cemetery, the dead (and the undead) are hard to ignore. Pair that with her passion for writing and her love of a good happily-ever-after, and becoming a paranormal romance author seems like the only logical career choice.

Before she decided to turn her love of the written word into a career, Carrie spent the first part of her professional life as a high school journalism and yearbook teacher. She loves good chocolate and bad puns, and in her free time, she likes to read, drink wine, and travel with her family.

I have once again ventured into this vampire state and I was not disappointed. I really like the flow
and continuity of this series. I find that the author has a very original story. I really felt as though
the characters just jumped right off of the page. I was totally glued to the book from start to finish.

I once again found that Rowena really drew my attention. I felt the emotions as she went through them. The intrigue and the drama is really balanced with the romance. I found that the story really flowed and I felt as though I was right there in it. I really like the way that Rowena mixes with not only Vincenzo but also Antet and somewhat with Luka and there is a bit of mixed emotions and betrayals. The whole situation is so complex and I like how the author is able to draw everything out. I will definitely be reading more from this author and this series.

This duo gives us something that is unique and original, exciting and with a fresh twist on the fang gang genre. It is fast paced but as I have come to expect from Sarah and Molly there is definitely nothing lacking in the story. The tale is well plotted and the characters are endearing. There is an air of tension, mystery and thrills as your mind bends to the fantasy world that Sarah and Molly have designed. I certainly can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

I couldn’t stop laughing through this whole story. The characters were hilarious and well written especially Crimson. From the first page she had me laughing. Her filter is missing. She is a clumsy witch but it hasn’t stopped her from being who she is. The demon anonymous was funny. I couldn’t help but to enjoy this story. Mike is an interesting character as well. I have fun with this one and can’t wait to read more. It put a twist on the supernatural. In most stories you hear about the paranormal not interacting well together. Here it’s a beautiful grouping of diverse characters. Rosemary can suck my toe with her serious control issues. She just did too much for me. Overall a good read with it serious moments but still making you laugh.

Life’s a witch, what a perfect title to grab your attention.
Well, Carrie Pulkinen has, yet again, out done herself. She has, again, created another soul grabbing masterpiece.
Honestly, the amount of creativity and feels Carrie puts into her stories and characters leaves me completely speechless. It is more than just words on a page but a sense of realness and perfectly done story telling. This story had me on the edge of my seat, burying my face into my hands while I laughed and fanning myself.
But seriously – it yanks you in with a ride or die friendship, recovering demons that go to AA meetings, a ‘kind of’ witch that is more than just what she can or can not cast, a spontaneous lust turned into love… what more could you ask for?
You will not regret diving into this gem. My only warning is this story will grab you and hold you captive until the very last page.
