My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This is amazing series is the most unique story about vampires that I’ve read. The story has a lot going on, action, adventure, danger, and don’t forget the romance. The author did such a wonderful job with changing up the typical vampire story and making it new and exciting. I would definitely recommend you read this series from the beginning. You won’t be disappointed.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire is the 4th book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. I have read them all and love them. They are quick reads that are hilarious. I don’t normally read supernatural books, but these are great. They are not dark, but instead light humored, about a group of friends, which include vampires, werewolves, witches and more. This book centers around Jane Devereux, so I recommend at least reading her book- License to Bite- to get the full background. This book is a short story, that you wont want to put down. It is fast paced and funny. Telling the story of how Jane runs over Santa, and in order to save his life, and Christmas, she must turn him into a vampire. Not your average Christmas story, but worth reading.

This is a hilarious addition to this series. It’s definitely not your typical Christmas story but it’ll become a classic. Who would’ve thought Santa could get run over by a vampire but when Jane Devereaux is involved, anything is possible. Finally allowed to drive Genevieve, Jane not only gets into an accident but she nearly kills Santa. The only way to save his life is to turn him into a vampire. Christmas is around the corner and she has three days to teach him how to be a good vampire or all is lost. She absolutely doesn’t want to be known as the one who not only destroyed the holidays but killed Jolly Old St. Nick as well.

This is a quick, funny read. Definitely one you’ll enjoy!

I thoroughly enjoyed this fun, lighthearted paranormal romance with a festive twist, which put me in the Christmas spirit. As I have read the previous books in the ‘New Orleans Nocturnes’ series, I was already familiar with the main characters, Jane and Ethan from book one ‘License to Bite’. However, each book in the series is a standalone story although the characters do crossover. In this quick holiday story, Jane Devereux is adjusting well to her new life as a nocturne. She is married to the hottest vampire in New Orleans, Ethan, and is running a popular nightclub in the French Quarter. When she accidentally runs Santa Claus over the only way to save him is to turn him into a vampire. Jane then has three days to teach Santa how to be a vampire and then get him back to the North Pole for Christmas Eve. To complicate her life further, Jane’s father is visiting her for Christmas and she has not told him that she’s married or that she’s a vampire. It was fun being back with the “vamps of New Orleans Nocturnes” and I enjoyed catching up with Jane and Ethan as they are great characters. The storyline flows well, making this an enjoyable and easy read whilst the narrative brings the characters to life. The story has some laugh out loud moments and it’s a real page turner of a novel. I found this romantic comedy with a paranormal twist an exciting and engaging read. I look forward to future books in the series.

I have read a few books from this author and she keeps on surprising me. I love paranormal books but this series has me addicted. This is the fourth book to the awesome series called The New Orleans Nocturnes. You can read this book as a stand alone but some previous characters are in this story as well. I was so excited when I got this book I stopped everything and started to read it immediately. I could not put it down. This is a fun Christmas book that will make you laugh out loud. I can’t wait to see what this author will write about next.

Jane Devereux is getting used to her new undead life. She is now an owner to a hot night club and she is married to the hottest vampire ever. Jane goes for a ride in an awesome car and she ends up hitting someone. She hits Santa and she has to turn him into a vampire to save his life. Jane now has only three days to get the new Santa ready for Christmas and she has no idea what to do. To make matters worse she also has her father coming over this year and he has no idea that she’s married and is a vampire. Will Jane be able to save Christmas or will it all blow up in her face?

Jane Devereaux is finally getting her chance to drive Gaston’s baby around New Orleans and is relishing in this until she runs someone over, as she starts to panic and get Gaston to call for an ambulance, she learns that it isn’t just any old person she has run over and nearly killed, it is Santa, THE SANTA, he actually exists and not only that and now Jane has to make a choice, she has to turn him into a vampire, or destroy Christmas, not much of a choice really. After the deed is done and Santa has been turned, Jane and Gaston load Santa into his car and after some shock and amazement, she gets to ride Santa’s reindeer Blitzen home, this is something she will never forget.

The next day, she has to go and see the Magistrate of their coven and register her new fledgeling and start to deal with the consequences of her actions, this includes the explanation of why she had to sire him in the first place, but first she has to break the news to Santa that he is now a vampire and everything that goes with it, however, Santa seems a little off and won’t stop singing his versions of Christmas songs and asking constantly for sugary things to crave his thirst. After Santa’s registration they take Santa out for his first feed and to get his official license, but something is still off, this is where they all have to break the news to Mrs Claus, as well as this, she has the added bonus of her dad coming to visit for Christmas and she is going to have to break the news that she is a vampire, but more that that, is that she is also married and prepare herself to see her dad and face his reactions to her news! Jane only has three days to fix Santa and save Christmas, but can she do it in time, or at all?

This story is a christmas themed romp through New Orleans where mistakes are made and curveballs are thrown around like snowballs in a snowball fight and a read which will keep you reading until the end.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I’m really liking these vampire state novels. A unique little twist on vampire tales. In Eye of Death (Vampire State Book 3) by Alexander Charalambides Rowena is still working towards rights for humans. It seems she gets a big break through Prince Antet, royalty from a neighboring kingdom. I have to say in book two, City Without a Sun, I had a sneaking suspicion about the prince. I can’t make up my mind if I am pleased or disappointed in the way that turned out. (Can’t tell you that, gives away too much of the story). If you are a lover of vampire stories and like to see a unique twist on them, I think this book will fit the bill. I’m looking forward to the next one.

These nocturnes novels always make me laugh. They are lighthearted, romantic, witty and funny. Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire: A Paranormal Romantic Comedy (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen did not disappoint. Sometimes I laugh out loud. Jane is so real, and the dialogue is so normal. I love the New Orleans landscape and the return of favorite characters. When I need a quick positive jolt Ms. Pulkinen’s supernatural Pulkinen neighborhood does it for me. Be aware there is a little hot and steamy adult “stuff” going on but not enough to distract from this merry little tale. If you need to end your evening on a smile this one will do it for you.

Once again Rowena is stuck in the middle of things. Sanguinia is tossed into chaos. Rowena tries her best to report the truth in the middle of a war zone. Understanding both sides, she finds it hard to pick a side. Yet when put in a situation with dire consequences, Rowena is finally for ex to make a decision, for better or for worse.

The book is filled with action, danger and betrayal. There are many things to keep you interested. Although Rowena has three love interests, I’m still waiting to see any romance happening. I’m not sure I understand her choices. She’s not with Luka; although he’s proven he would die for her. She stays with Vincenzo although they act more like roommates. I was disappointed with many aspects of this story. Regardless, it was well written and that’s why I gave it four stars. Here’s to hoping Rowena makes better choices in the next book.

Eye of Death by Alexander Charalambides is the third book in the Vampire State series. Let me warn you to read these in order because the story does carry from one to the other and honestly, you don’t want to miss out on a great series. This book is even better than the last and I tore through it. As conditions have changed in Sanguinia life has changed for Rowena. In this book, there is a new romantic interest for her, but nothing is ever as simple as that. I really have enjoyed seeing the plot grow and change in this series and they always leave me wanting more. This is a great series of books if you enjoy paranormal, mystery, romance, and lots of twists and turns to keep you on your toes. I look forward to reading more from Charalambides in the future.

Eye Of Death: A paranormal romance by Alexander Charalambides is the third book in the Vampire State series. This book is an amazing addition to the series and I think has to be my favourite one so far. The author has done an incredible job of keeping the excitement of this series alive. This book feels just as original and interesting as book 1 and it would be my recommendation that you do read this from the beginning!!
I was hooked on this story right from the start and it really pulled me in. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen, so much so I ended up reading the whole book in one sitting!! I was so caught up in the story and the development that before I knew it I was turning the last page.
The author has really created a unique and intriguing series with these books. He has taken the usual vampire type stories and completely turned them on their heads. I am thoroughly enjoying it all so much and cannot wait to see what else is to come.

I give Santa Got Run Over by a Vampire (New Orleans Nocturnes Book 4) by Carrie Pulkinen, 5 stars.

I have read this series and while I know it’s going to be good, I always forget just how fun this series is. This book is no exception. Just the concept is hilarious and it is done in not only a fun way, but it is so interesting and keeps you on the edge of your seat the whole time. If you are familiar with the series, some of the characters you have come to love are back, and obviously we meet some new ones too. Santa and Mrs. Claus are great. The originality in this book makes the story so exceptional and you will be wishing there was more. At the same time, it is a complete story, the author does not leave you wondering.

While there are reoccurring characters from previous books, this one can easily be read as a standalone. If you are a fan of fun supernatural books and looking for something a little different for the holidays, this book is for you. In fact, considering the way this year has been, this is a refreshing, fun way to end the year.

Four Stars

I was seriously laughing so hard while reading this story. I’ve never read a book so funny that I couldn’t put it down because I was laughing so hard. The author really knew what she was doing when she wrote the story about our main lead Jane. It almost seem like she just could not help saying whatever popped into her head. The Willy Wonka comment was hysterical you have to read that part because you will die laughing. I do think that it was a little bit too much at times because it almost took away from the main part of the story. I also felt like she got away with it a little bit too much people kind of just ignore the fact that she did it and it was like yeah you should really speak up about that. I do feel that the author did an amazing job with writing the characters around her because they kind of pick up where she lacked. And the whole thing with her dad oh my gosh threw me off like way off. And Santa oh my goodness I cannot believe she did that to Santa. Anyway it was really good story especially when you got more into the heart of it into what the author was trying to get at the plot of the story. I really did like Gaston his character was very interesting because he was very goofy almost but also serious. I definitely recommend this book if you’re looking for a holiday laugh something that’s not to be taken serious but you still enjoy it anyway.

I LOVED this little look into Jane and Ethan’s life! The holiday aspect added to the story and I stayed up late reading….wondering what was up with Santa. The story moves along at a jolly good pace and easily put me in the holiday spirit. It is full of Santa-isms, puns and Jane’s crazy swear words. Jane is still a spirited gal Who takes all her accidents in stride. This isn’t her biggest but to me it’s the most fun one. I mean who doesn’t want to take a ride on Blitzen??

Overall I enjoyed this look back into Ethan, Gaston and Jane’s undead lives. They are still the same snarky, full of dry humor characters. We even get to see a few others from the series. The story is well written and really put me in the holiday spirit. It is full of holiday laughs and fun. I would highly recommend and not necessary but read License to Bite first since it’s how these characters meet.

This series just keeps getting better and better, a feat I though Charalambides had made difficult to do with the last book in this series. Eye of Death is the third book in the Vampire State series from Charalambides. I would recommend that you start with book one if you haven’t before diving into this one. This is not your typical vampire or vampire romance series and really reimagines the rules we have come to expect in this particular trope. I love the action and adventure as well as the world building Charalambides weaves into his novels. I feel as if I could be right there alongside my favorite characters as they experience these adventures. I can’t say much more about the story line that isn’t already mentioned in the synopsis without ruining too much so I won’t. Eye of Death is the third instalment in the Vampire State series by Alexander Charalambides. As I have mentioned before, this series really does take vampire lore and shake it up- providing a very original and intriguing vampire story.
There is so much going on, and this is so much more than I had expected- but I don’t want to give away too much and spoil it for you. I was engrossed right from the beginning- with vampires, discord, crisis, action, adventure, danger, drama, surprising developments, politics, war, a bit of a social commentary, the paranormal, and romance. There is definitely a bit of a dark dystopian feel to the story/series, which I love- and it definitely elevated my whole reading experience.
I am eagerly awaiting the next book to see where we go from here.

Thank you, Alexander Charalambides!

Santa Got Run Over By a Vampire is Book #3.5 in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. As with the other books in the series, it is a superb and highly original Paranormal Romantic Comedy. It’s a such a fun addition to the series. I have read all Ms. Pulkinen’s books now and have loved them all. The series, and this book are a little less spicy and intense than some of her other work/s- having a definitely cuter, sweeter, fun, and more humorous perspective of the New Orleans paranormal world.
As I said, this is a paranormal romantic comedy- with vampires, Santa, reindeer, Mrs. Claus, magic, politics, supernatural elements, and drama- with an enchanting and humorous storyline and all set in mystical and magical New Orleans.
We met Jane back in Book #1 when she was involved in a daring selfie moment that went wrong- that then resulted in her being ‘turned’ by Ethan (her now husband) to save her ‘life’. Ten months have passed since then and Jane is thriving in her undead life. Finding love and getting married, and taking on a job she loves running the hottest Vampire club in New Orleans. So, things look pretty bright. But then her father announces he will be arriving for Christmas- and he has no idea that she’s married, let alone a Vampire. Fate intervenes and her perfect life becomes even more complicated when Jane accidently runs Santa over- and the only way to save him, and Christmas, is to make him a vampire. But things won’t be quite that simple- with only three days to ‘train’ Santa on vampire life and laws brings a few hiccups’ with it that threaten her immortality- a bit of chaos ensues with funny banter, antics, and quips- making for some hilarious moments that made me laugh out loud.
Can’t wait to see what Ms. Pulkinen has in store for us next!

Thank you, Carrie Pulkinen!

So, I have read the super “popular” vampire series, but haven’t really given more thought to the genre. I loved the cover of this book (which is how I pick all books, no synopsis reading here) and wanted to expand into something other than my usual genre. I was NOT disappointed at all. I enjoyed the interactions between Edith and Darren and I appreciated that this was a story led by actual storytelling and not sex. I found the premise to be one with great promise, I loved that it flowed and was a quick easy read. I would have liked the characters to have a little more depth and backstoroy, but am hopeful it will be in the next book. Overall I felt the authors did a great job, and can I just say this book had some of the best editing I have ever seen! If you enjoy vampires, minimal violence, and more substance than sex this will be a book you will absolutely enjoy!

Santa got run over by a vampire is the 4th book in the New Orleans Nocturnes series by Carrie Pulkinen. This is a fantastic short, funny and original book. It revisits the characters from the first book in the series, newly turned vampire Jane and her husband Ethan. It’s Christmas time in New Orleans and Jane has an unfortunate run in with Santa when driving her friend Gaston’s car. She must make the decision on to let Santa die or turn him and try and save Christmas but risk starting a war with the fae in the process. On top of that she must deal with her dad coming to town and trying to explain that she is a vampire! This is a really enjoyable book; it is perfect for reading on a cosy winter night and I really liked it. I have read all the books in this series and I liked going back and finding out more about what Jane had been up too.

This was just the pick-me-up I needed at the minute, and the Christmas theme just made it even better!
