I give Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles Book 1) by C.R. Robertson, 5 stars.
I really enjoyed this book. The forbidden vampire/lycan romance has been done before, but this author puts such a fresh and interesting spin on it. Story pulled me in and kept reading until the end. Just when I thought the end was near, the author throws another curveball. I love that in my books. However, what really makes this book for me is the characters. I wasn’t sure how I felt about them at first, but as they grow and experience things, they develop into such great characters, multi-faceted and have their flaws too, but big hearts. The secondary characters are also wonderful and I hope to see more of them later in the series– both the good and bad guys.
If you enjoy paranormal adventure/romance books with great characters, this book is for you. It is the beginning of what promises to be a great series.

I really enjoyed this book. C.R. Robertson has created a vibrant world and a very good story that highlights two of my favorite paranormal species, vampires and werewolves. The story of Tasha and Levi had adventure and some twists and turns but it was an enjoyable journey to take. The story flowed nicely and I found myself unable to put it down until I finished. I am looking forward to reading more from C.R. Robertson.

First We Kill All The Lawyers is Book One in The Donovan Trait Series by author Seelie Kay. Donovan Trait is a charismatic and drop-dead gorgeous lawyer that ladies fawn over and that everyone wants to be like. His charm and good looks, combined with his knowledge of the law has kept him winning cases in the court room for over three hundred years. A little seduction of judges and juries along the way has not hurt his court cases either and his appetite is insatiable both in and out of the courtroom.
Donovan Trait is unstoppable and untouchable, or so he thinks, until someone sets their sights on him and marks him for murder. Luckily for him, Vampires do not die. The problem is, after several hundred years he has finally met the love of his life who is a human. Shirley is a Judge that Donovan met during one of his cases who turns out to be a match for Donovan both in and out of the courtroom. She is beautiful, vivacious, and smart. However, she is merely mortal and marked for death. They now must battle for their lives as they are hunted like prey by an unknown killer whose motives are unbeknown to them. Donovan and his lady love must combine their skills and their knowledge to save their lives and catch the killer that has set their sights on them and marked them both for death.
First We Kill All The Lawyers had me on edge throughout as I became immersed in Donovan’s life. I felt his pain as he clung to life after several attempts on his life. I waited with bated breath to see if his lady love would survive the attempt on her life. I anxiously turned the pages to see if this man would find his happily ever after or if fate would intervene. I recommend this book and cannot wait to read more books in this series.

Wild Vamp Audio Book by L.D. Wosar is the second book in the Jaded Vamp series. This is a book that I had previously read so was looking forward to the audio book version to revisit the story.
Unfortunately I did find myself struggling with the audio book version. I knew to expect it jumping between the different POV’s however I didn’t expect to find it as confusing while listening to it. I kept losing track of the characters. This was also the first book I have listened to that felt a bit over produced. The music and the effects that peppered the narration were, for me, a little off putting.
That being said this is still worth the 4* review I have given as the story itself I know to be great and everything I have mentioned was just my personal preference over audio books. I am certain that there are plenty of people who would be looking for this type of narration that would thoroughly enjoy this book. I would definitely recommend you listen to this book – although I would recommend doing the series in order for a better enjoyment.

This book caught me by surprise. I was like oh yet another Lycan and vampire forbidden love story. But IT was nothing as I thought. Though it does have that as a major theme to the overall story, that’s not it. There is a secret connection between the two races that they seem to be oblivious about. This book is the beginning of this series and I am looking forward to reading more of it. But in this, while being introduced to Robertson’s world you meet several characters that I assume will take center focus as each story is told. But in this one Tasha and Levi. I love their story so hard.

Wow wow wow so you know me I love me a forbidden romance and this was definitely it. And especially paranormal forbidden romance is just a whole new level. I loved the relationship between Levi and Tasha. There is so much action and war happening in this book it makes it hard to put down and it is one of those where you have to read it in one sitting because you just can’t put the book down. Really enjoyed this!

I give Wild Vamp (Jaded Vamp Book 2) by L.D. Wosar, 4 stars.
This book was completely different than book one. The characters that are in both books have changed drastically and we are now 50 years in the future. The story has a lot of action that starts right away with twists and turns that keep you guessing the intentions of the characters and wondering what will happen next. It is set in multiple locations in a distopian landscape.
This urban fantasy/distopian novel is full of action, creatures of the night, and some hot scenes. To me, it is reminiscent of the Underworld movie franchise.

Forbidden Wolf is the first book in The Shadow Chronicles series by CR Robertson.
This story is a paranormal romance, and I was thoroughly invested right from the start. The main characters, Tasha and Levi, are from very different worlds. They should only be acquainted as enemies, but they soon realise they have so much more. With so many obstacles to overcome, their relationship should be doomed from the start, but they are strong-willed and full of passion. I really enjoyed this story. I thought the author did a great job on a new take on a paranormal romance, and the characters are so well written it really keeps you hooked until the end. I will definitely be reading book two!

This is book 2 in the Jaded Vamp series and the action in this one takes place 50 years after the events of the 1st book. This is definitely a fast paced book, if you enjoy fast paced stories, this is for you! I personally would have liked to see more in each scene as these characters are written with such great intricacy that I’d like to see more of their thoughts and emotions.
I particularly loved Kaysee. Her character felt very real and raw to me. She wasn’t written to make every correct decision but she also didn’t fall into any of the normal tropes of female characters who make bad decisions. She generally made good and logical decisions but we got to see the why behind them and really experience the dark thoughts that make us all human even though we’d never admit it.
Then there was Dom. As a character he reminded me a lot of a high school jock who grew up to be a biker. Not that he was either of those things being an immortal vampire, but the personality was there. At different phases of the book I wavered between despising him and empathizing with him while agreeing with the decisions he made even though I didn’t necessarily like them. It’s rare that I find a character who elicits such complex emotional feelings in a book and I really hope that in the next one we get to see more of the inner turmoil of all of our characters.
There were of course several other characters in the book including our bad guys and with the head hopping writing style, we get a glimpse into all of them which affords us a unique perspective of not just the good but also the bad characters and what fuels them as well. It brings a unique perspective of humanity to the villains rather than just painting them as evil and writing their feelings off.
All in all, I quite enjoyed the writing style of this book; my only complaint was that there wasn’t more of it!

WOSAR – Review by Bridget McCullough
All hail Queen Kaysee! I love a novel that has a strong female lead, and this certainly delivered on that! I found myself pulled into an alternate world, where humans are no longer the alphas and the fight between different vampires, and hybrids, and witches comes into play. Vycans are starting to take over, and it’s up to Kaysee to pull herself together after a great loss, to bring her Coven of Vampires to battle. Wow! I was blown away by the buildup of the characters, the description of the weak/strong minded, and the family ties that have you rooting for them until the end. Though this isn’t a genre I tend to read, I’ll be looking forward to Book 3 of this amazing trilogy. Well done, L.D. Wosar!
I enjoyed this read. Donovan Trait, known as a lawyer who wins, is charming, and a womanizer; not know for being a vampire. When someone tries to kill him not once… but then a second time he goes into hiding. It seems though that he was not the only target. Can he help find out what is behind these killings? The only thing that seems to link them is a single text to all of them before their demise. Can he get to the bottom of this so he can go back to living a normal life? I loved the personality of Donovan and the people he surrounds himself with.

I jumped into this book not knowing what I might find but wow – what a ride. I really enjoyed the fast pace and characters development. Lots to enjoy. If you love a good paranormal romance with lots of plot movement, immediately pick this up. Now I’m headed back to pick up the rest of the series. So good!
First, We Kill All the Lawyers by Seelie Kay a fantastic five-star read. This is the first novel in the Donovan Trait series, and I am so excited for the rest, I have enjoyed reading this author previously, but this one just had the extra magic, it made me chuckle, but most of all it kept me hooked. This has an original quality to the story, and the characters are just sublime, the snark, the quirks, and the smoothness, all create this great story.

Forbidden Wolf (The Shadow Chronicles 1) by CR Robertson was a privilege to read! This has been one of my favorite reads for the year. The characters are so easy to like, love, dislike, and love again. The writing is so descriptive and vivid that i could literally imagine everything that was happening and “see” everyone.
The storyline is addicting and I could NOT put this book down! For fans of the movie Underworld- I would definitely recommend this book. It’s sexy and addicting. I plan to reread it soon and I can NOT wait to read the rest!

Donovan Trait is a defense attorney in Chicago and also a three-hundred-year-old vampire. He has been searching for his soulmate for a long time. He starts a relationship with Judge Shirley Magnusen. She’s everything he has been looking for, but he has his doubts about a future with her.
One morning while walking to the courthouse, Donovan is stabbed after receiving the text “The first thing we do, let’s kill all the lawyers! Starting with you!” He thinks nothing of it, to begin with, but when he is shot in the bathroom of the courthouse several days later, he knows he is being hunted by a killer.
Molly, Donovan’s secretary and also a werebear, elicits help from The Lynx, a private eye and hacker when another attorney is killed. Can they use connections between the lawyers to discover who the killer is before another attorney is killed?
After reading the synopsis of the book, I thought, “Oh, it’s just another vampire book.” Was I ever wrong? This book goes beyond any other vampire book and looks at the scientific discoveries that have helped vampires evolve and into the hierarchy of the vampire world. This story of love and mystery will astound you.

Wild Vamp is the second of four books in this series by LD Wosar. It was a fantastic read from start to finish. The time jumps definitely made me feel like I was missing out on some pertinent information from each character involved, but everything was explained pretty well and it made for a swift read – which I loved. Kaysee and Dominic have been through hell and back and are now going through hell again. There was so much in this book that I wasn’t expecting, but I was pleasantly surprised at each turn of events. I sped through books one and two without putting them down and I am so excited to finish the series and learn what happens to our beloved characters!
Enthralled from beginning to end! I love a good romance, but when you add paranormal to it, I am 100% there! I was emotionally invested in the book straight from the start. The story line is interesting, there are a few plot twists to keep you invested, and Levi is a sweet baby angel, no one can change my mind about that. The story also has a little bit of spice along with everything nice already mentioned. There is a great enemy to route against, actually more than one. The connections and relationships between several characters are also well done. Great read, needless to say I am looking forward to the next book!

This is the second book in the Jaded Vamp books. I was captivated by the cover of this book. The plotline has a fast pace to it. I found myself flipping the pages faster and faster to get to the end of the book. The characters are unique and complex. It is a vampire romance that includes vampires and vampire/Lycan hybrids. Kaysee is trying to extinguish the hybrids and is having issues completing the task. Her husband, Dominic, was abducted throughout her mission. Will Kaysee be able to complete her mission? Will she find her husband? I highly recommend this book as well as the first book. I cannot wait to see what other books L.D. Wosar has written as I am intrigued by this story.

I did not read the first book and I didn’t feel as if I was missing too much information, but I wish I would have read it first. The second book is easy to follow along and I was quick to get pulled into the story. Kaysee is a badass vampire, everyone in her group seems to like her and feel they wouldn’t really be together if it weren’t for her. Her husband Dominic, from the way he acts to how the others describe him, seems like a really douche bag. It seems he can’t functionally rule over his people any longer but is stubborn and won’t take help from a woman, his wife. The fact that Kaysee has been faithful to him for all the years they have been together hurts me when I found out of Dominics infidelities, especially since he lies every time that he won’t do it again. When he comes face to face with his maker, Claudia, again, nothing good comes of this meeting and Kaysee is in the dark about what goes down between the two. I hope when she finds out she leaves him for good, and I hope in the next book to see Claudia taken down. I highly recommend for any paranormal romance lover! Bring on the next book!
I enjoyed this paranormal story. This is not my first book by this author but it is certainly one of my favorites by her. This is a well developed story about vampires and lycans and the author’s attention to details bring their story to life. The characters are great, strong, connectable and they brought the story to life on each page. This is a fast paced story that is full of action and passion. How can one night change everything? I highly recommend reading this book to find out. I enjoyed watching their growth and chemistry. Will Levi and Tasha’’s relationship be the death of them? It is worth the pick up for sure

Although I started with book 2 in the series I wasn’t lost or confused by anything that was happening. I really liked the narration; it was easy and pleasant to listen to. There was quite a lot of action in the story which made it really exciting to listen to at times. I liked the characters and thought that they were well developed. I would definitely like to listen to the first book in the series and absolutely more from this author again in the future,

Ooo! I really liked this one! This one isn’t my first book by this author but it was definitely my favorite!! I was sucked in from page one and devoured this paranormal story! Levi & Tasha are the main charcters and they couldn’t be more different. Levi is a Wolf Shifter & Tasha is a Vampire. This is a case of opposites attract and man so they have chemistry! Such a shame that they’ll be put death if anyone finds out If they’re having any kind of relationship between them. Truth is brought to the surface and survival might just depended on their “forbidden” relationship. Ugh I couldn’t get enough of this one and I am so glad I picked it up. I cannot wait until I can get my hands on more by this author! I would definitely recommend this to anyone that loves Paranormal romances! Happy Reading!

When two immortal enemies give into their forbidden desires, their passion puts both of their lives on the line. Levi and Tasha’s very survival hinges on remaining sworn enemies. CR Robertson takes Underworld and turns it into a new and exciting read. A tale as old as time, love, meets hate in this novel that makes you say what in the hell. A love that can be punished by death is the only type of true love. Join Tasha and Levi in their journey to prove everyone else wrong about their species. CR Robertson is a wonderful author and hasn’t disappointed with this great first novel in a wonderful series.

Five stars
I’m excited that I read this book. It gave me Underworld vibes. At first I thought At first I thought Tasha was going to be this ultimate bad girl but she’s a normal adult who isn’t sure of herself. She’s just a vampire that wants to be free. I thought they were going to be teenagers with how the story first flowed but we got some major control issues going on with leadership. The war stupid they didn’t even know why they were fighting. Those creatures were gross the visual the author painting I did not need. I really enjoyed this story though. Tasha became annoying mid book. She has so much potential but it’s like she was unable to believe in herself. She was ready to give up too many times. Levi that man! I wish there was someone out willing to love me as hard as Levi did Tasha. To possess just a little of his affection and devotion. Definitely worth the read .

This was an enjoyable read. It’s definitely a different spin on the vampire stories (and other creatures). I like how the format is not focused as much on the vampire, but more shows it as a complication in certain situations. I also enjoy how you get the perspective of the killer and it’s clear when her scenes come up. I enjoy the interaction and personality that comes through on various characters and how they can still act in a way that is “human.” Looking forward to reading the next one!

A forbidden romance is sparked between enemy species – wolf and vampire! Each is placed into a world of war, as soldiers, who need to fight to get back to each other. The couple’s passionate connection is what will hopefully lead them towards salvation. The author did a good job of bringing a different take on an old premise. From the very beginning the author jumps right into the story; you never felt that it was slow moving! I look forward to the future books in this series!

WOSAR – Review by Terri Jo McAllister
This is for those over 18 only due to adult content within.
Kaysee Belluomo is a vampire, but she isn’t just any vampire, she is the head of the Milite Coven along with her husband Dominic Belluomo and they are the elite of the elite of vampires, but one day in 2030 that changed when they were made aware of an individual who was creating a hybrid of a lycan and a vampire to create a new super race of supernaturals. Unfortunately, reports were that slowly but surely, they were taking over the USA and recruiting to their coven with the promise of power and a better life and most were taking the vampire in charge of it up on his offer because of his talent for persuasion. On this particular day they had invaded the Milite Coven headquarters and that is not something that Kaysee is impressed with in the slightest, however, her husband’s reluctance to do anything apart from strategise and make plans has Kaysee all riled up and after blood.
Forty years later and Kaysee’s predictions have come true and the Milite Coven have moved to Las Vegas in the hopes that they can find a food source and stay one step ahead of the hybrids following them, however, this plan hasn’t worked and the Coven’s members have diminished from over a hundred to six including Kaysee, her husband and her son. As they go hunting for hybrids in McCarran Airport Kaysee is still being undermined by the men in the Coven and she is getting sick of it, however, because she is a deadly fighting machine and completely head over heels with her husband, she goes along with the plan, albeit reluctantly, however, on one of these hunting trips things start to go wrong. After they have returned to the hotel and Kaysee finds out that her son has spoken to the leader of the enemy and has some opinions on him that don’t quite match up to his parents one, an argument ensues and loyalties are questioned and the next day while going to confront said leader, they split into teams and some split off on their own, however, when the time comes to leave, some of her Coven are captured and turned into more of the hybrid puppets. Due to this unexpected loss, the Belluomo’s decide to recruit some newborns from a group of humans who are still left in Las Vegas, so after they feed, they start taking the group back one by one to rebuild the Milite Coven back up.
When two of the missing coven members return to their home base, one is completely won over and the other is the opposite, enhanced, but still loyal to a fault, so when they are ambushed by hybrids and lycans alike on home turf, Kaysee does everything in her power to protect those who are left, however, her husband is kidnapped and flown out of the USA and overseas to Europe. Kaysee is devastated and retreats into herself for a few days before snapping back out of it and planning the rescue of the two men she loves most. Will Kaysee be able to successfully rescue her husband and son all while wiping out the rest of the Hybrid Coven, or will the past come back to haunt them and reduce their plans to cinders? This is a rip roaring romp of a paranormal romance with passion, violence and sex throughout which leaves you on no doubt of who is in charge and what happens when a female vampire is scorned.
In this paranormal war between species, Levi and Tasha have to work together against hate and stereotypes to try to build their relationship. But those aren’t the biggest threat to their forbidden passion.
To be completely honest, I’ve never been a fan of first person writing, or series romances that aren’t stand alone novels. That said, first person occasionally works, and this was one of those times. And this book can certainly stand alone if the reader isn’t interested in reading the next challenge held in store for our couple.
Suffice to say I was certainly drawn into their world and I’m sure most will absolutely want to know what happens next. Vampires, werewolves, and an extra dash of intrigue kept me reading into the wee hours of the morning to find out how Levi and Tasha were going to meet all their challenges and still manage to build a partnership that could last in this evolving paranormal world.

Wild Vamp (Jaded Vamp Book 2) by L.D. Wosar is a romance story. This is a fast-paced vampire tale that I enjoyed from start to finish. I thought vampires were done to death, but LD gave us a fresh look, and I loved the humour sparked with the action, the danger and adventure to make it a good read. The timeline of the story has jumped forward by quite a few years compared to the first book. If you love a little grit and grime, violence, and blood then you will love this.
