Lily is a human servant in the royal household of Wolf Hollow. Her life is turned upside down when the family returns and she is attacked by a guard. Jason, the prince, catches her scent and realizes that she is his mate. Everything seems to be set against them meeting and ultimately being together. As they find their way to each other, will they be enough? Can Jason survive a challenge to them being together?

This is my first time reading this author. It caught my eye, and I couldn’t resist picking it up! It was a quick read and full of action. There were surprises throughout the book that kept me reading to see how it was all going to work out. I do love a good werewolf book! I won’t give away anything, but it did end the book at a bit of a cliff hanger. Looking forward to the next book and seeing how it goes!

This shifter romance is unlike any I have read before! Lily just wants to go unnoticed and do her chores. Being a servant for wolf royalty is not easy and keeps you on guard. Jason is just trying to make it until he becomes the Alpha. He definitely wasn’t looking for his mate and neither was Lily. This story is very fast paced and does have some triggers. I really enjoyed the writing style and the unexpected plot twist! Looking forward to the second book!

This was a pretty good read! The writing was really good and immersive, and the character were…..interesting. I liked the female MC and the male MC at least. What I didn’t enjoy about this novel was the violence against the women and the human slaves. It felt excessive to me in a way. One thing I liked was that Jason, the male MC, didn’t seem to feel this way and wanted to change it. So there is that at least. While I personally didn’t enjoy some of the happenings in this novel, I know some people do and this book was really well written and I was easily captured into the story. I would read more from this author in the future, and I can’t wait to do so.

This was a quick read but it packed a punch. There is a lot happening in this story, and it’s told from multiple pov’s. I read this book in one sitting and when I was done I wanted more. There are so many good characters in this story. We got to see character growth and change in both Jason and Lilly which will help them with what they will be up against next. This book touches on some sensitive subjects that might be a trigger for some people. I found this story to be engaging, emotional, and written in a way that sucks you right into it. I cannot wait to read the next one! This is a must read.

This was a fast paced paranormal romance, featuring wolf shifters, that had me gripped from start to finish. The very likeable and relatable heroine of the story Lily, has been a captive of the Huntington’s, the Wolf Hollow Royals for a year and has been working as their slave. Lily is a human among the Wolf Hollow Pack, of wolf shifters. The Royals have been away touring their pack lands but when they return Lily is surprised by her reaction to them, especially the Prince. The future Alpha and King of Wolf Hollow, Jason is biding his time until he can take over from his father, the Alpha and end his terrible regime. On returning home one sniff of Lily and he knows she’s his mate despite being a mere slave girl and a human. Jason is determined to be a good mate to Lily, but with his parents against the match, another wolf wanting to claim Lily, and the rebels at the gates, all conspiring to keep them apart, Lily and Jason may not get their HEA.

I liked the main characters, Lily and Jason and their chemistry came across in the writing. I was especially engaged with Lily, and really felt for her and the tragic circumstances she found herself in. The other characters and setting were brought vividly to life through the descriptive narrative, immersing me in the story. The storyline does deal with some sensitive issues, and although things happen ‘off page’, they do have a significant impact on the storyline. I hope some of the secondary characters mentioned will also get their own stories. I found myself engrossed in this story and was shocked by the cliffhanger ending, so I am now waiting impatiently for book two in this series!

The writing style is that if your typical teenage romance supernatural bein novel. Lily and Jason are well. Jason, I liked his character and the development I saw in his character through the book. Lily is subservient as a slave to the wolves. What happens when the wolf Prince mate is the servant girl. How will this work? There are many twists turns and Surprises in this book. I didn’t expect it to end like that. Leaves you wanting more.

This is the 2nd book in a great paranormal romance series. As much as I enjoyed the first book in the series, this one is even better. I loved Mason and Rylie’s story. Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but I’d advise reading the whole series, in order, to get the most out of it. I assure you, you won’t be disappointed.
One of my favourite tropes has to be single dads. In my experience of reading many, many books, single dads are usually awesome dads with fantastic relationships with their kids. I could have spent hours reading about Mason and his little boy/werewolf Archer. Archer is absolutely adorable and he totally stole my heart. The final chapter, which is told from Archer’s POV just pulls on the heartstrings. I also loved reading his growing relationship with Rylie as she and Mason progress through their relationship.
This book is quite a bit longer than the first book in the series and I’m so glad that I got more of Mason, Rylie and Archer is I was really enthralled by their story.
One thing that I really want now is Mason’s brother Miles’ story. I really need to know what’s going on with him and Alexa.
100% recommend this book.

This is the first book in the Wolf Hallow Pack series and wow what a beginning. I love shape-shifter romances stories anyway. I love the protectivness and the passion that is involved but this goes beyond that with danger as well.

Lily is a human servant to the Huntington wolves. She wants a normal quiet life but when one of the guards decides to force her to be his it changes her life and her position in that household forever.

Jason is Prince of the pack. His destiny is to become Alpha to the pack. But one meeting with Lily changes all that. Knowing he has no found his fated mate he now needs to prove to her that they belong together, something that he and his wolf already know. However he also needs to protect her from the guard who seeks to own her.
Can Jason save Lily and be with her? What will the consequences of their love be?
The story ends on a cliff hanger and i cannot wait for the next book in this series.

I enjoyed this paranormal romance story. This is a new author for me that I enjoyed and look forward to reading more from this author in the future. I found this book to be a well written story where the author used details to make the story realistic. This is a fast paced, action and romance filled story that is hard to put down. The creative characters pulled me into the story from the start. They made the story engaging and fun to read. I enjoyed how connectable and supportive they were throughout the story. This is a story about Jason and Lily. One has been held captive for the past year and the other is biding his time until he gets out from under his father until these two meet. Now with things threatening to keep them apart, what will fate have in store for them. I enjoyed their chemistry and their growth throughout. I enjoyed how they brought the story to life and made the story for me. You don’t want to miss what happens with these two. I highly recommend this book.

I love reading paranormal books like this and was immediately drawn in from the first page. I have not had a chance to read books by this author before and I was immersed and could not put the book down. Lily is a servant who has had a very hard life who tries to stay hidden and out of sight. Jason is the son of the alpha, meaning that he is the next in line to run the pack. Jason and Lily face some hardships and learn to work together to overcome the obstacle. I cannot wait until the second book comes out so I can know what happens in the next chapters of their lives.

For anyone who enjoys “fated mate” werewolf books, this is a REALLY good one! Even though it follows that pretty common theme, it still manages to be engaging and interesting. There are twists and turns and plenty of steamy romance. Highly recommended, and while it can be read on its own, I would suggest reading the other books so you get to know all the characters better. I think this might be the best one of the series!

Claiming My Mate is the first book in the Wolf Hollow Pack series by Nicole Howl. This is the first book that I have read by Ms. Howl, so I really didn’t know what to expect going into the story. But the beautiful cover and enticing blurb had me rushing to one-click myself a copy to dive into.
It turned out to be a fairly short story (under 200pages), which a made for a very quick and easy read. It is a paranormal romance, with shifters, werewolves, fated mates, action, violence, danger, drama, duel POV’s, angst, challenges, a journey of discovery, and rebel forces causing chaos.
Lily is a human captive in a werewolf kingdom- her future uncertain, with fear a constant companion. But then she encounters the prince of werewolves- and her world is turned upside down to discover he is her fated mate. With that comes more surprises that bring their own challenges. Add in a rebel uprising, danger, and dramatic developments- and this story takes an interesting turn.
I liked the overall story- but I wish it had been a little longer, with a little more descriptive detail that would have allowed me more time to settle into the story- because as the story stands it felt rushed, as well as a little choppy and abrupt in places. The story also felt like it was having a bit of an ‘identity crisis’ because for the most part it was a ‘clean’ romance- but teetered on being an erotic romance with the mention of rutting/mating etc. Maybe it is just me, but I thought it would have suited the storyline to have leaned more into the sexy side of the story- unless it is meant to be aimed at young adults, but that isn’t specified.
I am interested in seeing where the story/series goes from here, especially since this book ended on such a cliffhanger.
Happy reading!

Thank you, Nicole Howl!

This novella is action packed from page one all the way through the very last word!!! Most novellas leave you feeling a little like part of the story is missing, but not this one. Jason is quiet, but strong willed and he knows his eventual place is at the front of the pack. Lily is a human servant that feels her place, brutally at times. She is to remain invisible. When the worst happens and Lily is attacked by a member of the wolf pack she is placed in the infirmary. Jason also happens to be in the infirmary and this places him in close enough proximity to realize that Lily is his mate. This instantly brings out the protector in his wolf and he is ready to face the devil himself if he has to in order to revenge his mate.
The characters are well developed and while the story is a little fast paced, it makes for a very interesting read. The author did not leave out the interesting details and those read between the lines moments I love in my stories. I am excited to read book two and find out the conclusion to all the threads left untied at the end. Bravo!!! A really great beginning!

Anyone who knows me knows that I love paranormal books, but I have a soft spot for werewolf ones This one book in particular was beyond amazing. I loved the characters, how things unfolded, the growth of the characters, and of course , those steamy romantic moments! There was so much to love in this read!

As I said this read was different, the world of the werewolves were among being royal. The human Lilly, serves the werewolves to keep them happy and content. She does not fit in the best. Jason is a royal, and the two of them are mates, like it or not. I loved their chemistry and I loved seeing the story told from their perspectives rather than just one or the other. Something I really loved, was the between the royals and those who protected them was that none of them were what they appeared to be The book had a lot going on, and a lot of awesome stuff that intrigued me came to light as I read, I was very surprised and on the edge of my seat. It was a ride and I freaking loved this book! A must read!

I honestly can not wait to get my hands on the next book in the series, to see what develops and what is to happen. I loved this book and the writing skill of the author so very much. Highly recommend this gifted author, and for sure, this book and series! It is a must read and not one you you should pass up!

There is something to be said about wolf shifter romances. I love how in most packs the mate is loved, protected, defended, and bonded to make them stronger. This was a beautifully written book with a lot of action and there are definitely some trigger warnings, such as abuse and rape. I never thought I could get through reading about it after past experiences but this author definitely knows how to write the protective male and the villain male.

Jason was thought out and written so beautifully as the main male character in the story. He is everything we know an Alpha prince should be and more. He is kind, helpful to the servants, and treats people with respect. After learning about his father it is hard to imagine how he was raised to be this way. Lily, our female main character, is a servant in the pack household, just a normal weak human. That is until her paths cross with our villain and Jason, now her life has been upended and she feels like nothing more than entertainment for the king and his pack. Can Jason make Lily trust him and the mate bond despite the horrific things she had to endure? Can Jason protect his mate at all costs including some with a very high price?

This book was a knock down drag out fight from page one. I loved Lily, Jason, Amara, Dean, and Laura all characters featured prominently. Then I despised the king and Callum, for the way they treat their people including those they say are their mates. As the story unfolds you are hit with twist after twist that leaves you guessing on who exactly will make it out on top. That is what ultimately makes this a fantastic read. If you like shifter romances packed with action you need to read this book, I read it in about 2 hours because it is simply that good.

This book has everything I could ever hope for. It is a really quick read and transports your away from your own reality. This book is about a Prince and a human-turned werewolf servant. There are some triggers that need to be addressed before reading this book. The first trigger is rape, the book doesn’t go into detail about it but it is heavily discussed and the trauma is there for the character. The other trigger is abuse, again this isn’t highly described but it is present and there is a heavy undertone to some of the characters. I fell in love with the main characters right away. I love a sassy female that learns to stand up for herself. The Prince is whole heartily what any true book boyfriend should be: caring, loving, devoted, and protective. This book does leave you on a cliff-hanger so be aware. However, it is so good that it won’t really bother you because you just get a feeling that whatever is coming is so gonna be worth it.

I absolutely love paranormal romance novels, I find them to hit exactly where you want them to hit when it comes to the intimacy portion of the story, and the connection that develops between the main character(s) is always fun to absorb. This one was no different. The author has a superb skill set when it comes to building the scene, and developing the characters prior to them really engaging each other, but not too much so that you get bored. I jumped at the opportunity to read another novel within this genre, and though I hadn’t read anything by her before, I am very happy I leaped at it, as I devoured Lily and Jason’s story today!

Jason has known his role, and what that entails his entire life, and up until the point of becoming involved with his wolf’s mate, hasn’t had an issue with that. Enter Lily, who has had a rough go as of late, and really hasn’t been able to live her own life to the extent she would hope to. Not only that, but she fears that she is worthless, and has even gone so far as to accept that she isn’t worthy of anyone’s attentions, let alone the future Alpha. Though they both must go through some lows to get to the higher highs, and as the ending is a cliff-hanger, I can’t wait to see what happens when not everyone is on your side, a must read!

What a wonderful story. It filled me with happiness and fun. I liked Macy and how strong she becomes. Brandons life is a struggle he has to overcome to be happy. They both grow and change as the story progresses.

I enjoyed getting to see the rest of the pack and how they are coming along. The thing to remember is some of the events take at the same time as other books. This threw me off more than once.

Overall this book kept me turning the pages wondering what was going to happen next. I look forward to more. The title of this one is perfect in more ways than one for this story.

PERFECT! I loved this so much!! Jason and Lilly are beautiful together, I like how Jason doesn’t care what her station in life is, he loves her and only her. There was so much happening here that made this book so interesting and hard to put down. Prince Jason’s best friend Dean, I love how loyal and protective he is, but I’m a little pissed at his feelings towards Amara, it seems like there may be something there, Jason’s sister, and who her mate is, the relationship between King Huntington and his wife, and then just King Huntington alone. He is a real piece of work, I am so mad at how he treats everyone around him especially his own flesh and blood. I look forward to his demise. This book was so interesting, a really fun take on werewolf romance. I NEED the next book now!

I was excited to jump into this YA Paranormal Romance tale as paranormal is my thing. Nicole is a new author to me, and I enjoyed this Fated Mates story. I have added a Trigger Warning as a precaution because it mentions rape but there are no explicit details. I would have liked to see a longer story and a bit more action as it is a very quick read. Nicole writes well and her work is easy to read. The story is told in multiple POV, so you get a far better understanding of the characters thoughts and feelings. Nicole has given us main characters that have depth and will break your heart, but she has given us those who you will love to hate and those that you hate to love.

He is royalty and she is a human slave, but fates have decided that when it comes to mates it doesn’t care about classes.

Grab a copy and a cuppa and settle in for a couple of hours me time. The story is left open to allow for future books and I look forward to reading them.

This third book in the Powder River Pack series may be my favorite one so far. After all there is romance, mystery, intrigue, duty, responsibility and fate. What more could you want?

Brandon is the pack jokester, likes to have a good time, but realizes it’s time for some responsibility and joins the military. One crazy night on the town he meets the one person that can turn him inside out and change his life, his fated mate. Macy goes into the town to let loose, and finds the undeniable attraction she has toward Brandon. They have one great night together when reality steps in and pulls them apart. Macy runs away and Brandon must leave early for his military service.

Once his military obligations are complete, Brandon returns to his hometown desperate to find the one who got away and took a piece of him with her. He knows it’s a longshot but fate must be smiling down on him and he finds Macy in the local bar. Can Macy overcome her feelings of the past to build a future with Brandon? This book has everything you could wish for in a shifter romance and I lost sleep over this book because I just couldn’t put it down. I recommend you read the other books in this series so you get to know the other pack members though this can be read as a standalone book. I cannot wait to see what else this author has in store for us next!

The second book in the Powder River Pack Series is a knock your socks off story. There seem to be stories inside of the main story and the author does a wonderful job bringing them all together.

Rylie is an outdoorsy biologist, not afraid to work and get her hands dirty. After heading back to her hometown eager for the career prospects she might find, she runs into someone that could alter the course of her entire life if she lets him of course. Who is this charmer that she can’t get out of her head? His name is Mason, and he just so happens to be the alpha of the Powder River Pack, single dad and bar owner. Mason has almost all but given up on finding his fated mate and the prospect of raising his son by himself. That is until he catches Rylie’s scent on the dance floor of his bar and is inexplicably drawn to her, but it seems he is not the only one who feels their connection. The unfortunate thing is Rylie has no idea about Mason’s kind and Mason has no idea how she’ll react when she finds out. Can Rylie open herself to the possibility of not only mated to a Werewolf but also the leader of his pack and help him lead? This book gave me all the feels and you can’t help but pull for Mason and Rylie. After all they were literally made for one another, can they get out of their own heads to find their happily ever after? If you love shifter romances, this is one series you should jump on reading!

A Second Chance (The Powder River Pack #1)A Second Chance by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I love all kinds of shifter books and most of them have a fated mate, sometimes things go according to plan and other times not so much. This book will send your emotions on a roller coaster ride, sometimes cheering for Derek and Anabelle and other times yelling at them for being so blind.

Derek and Anabelle find love in each other at a very young age, but even the best love sometimes falls apart. At one point finding themselves apart and broken hearted, each with the same feeling of discontent in future relationships. Annabelle goes off and makes a career for herself, but finds she must return as her estranged father is dying. Out of a sense of guilt and duty she finds herself pulled back to fetterman, Wyoming. Where she must face Derek again except he is no longer the young man she once loved, he is bitter and angry and confrontational. Can Derek and Annabelle find their happy ever after together or is the past too much to overcome? Will Annabelle sacrifice the career she has built for herself for the love of a man she has never gotten over? This is a book all about how we don’t always know the full story when it comes to relationships. It is about overcoming the past and working to build a future worth living for. I loved this book and am super excited to read what comes next for the Powder River Pack!

A Second Chance (The Powder River Pack #1)A Second Chance by Brooke May
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is the first book in a paranormal romance series. Each book can be read as a standalone. I have already started the second book and can see that the stories are running concurrently. This is an author that I have read several times in the past and have always enjoyed reading their books: and this was no exception. I really enjoyed this book.
As the title suggests, this is a second chance romance. Werewolf Derek let his true love and mate slip through his fingers many years ago, now she’s back in town as her father is very ill and he’s determined that this time he’ll get his mate back for life.
I really enjoyed reading Derek and Annabelle’s story. It’s quite angsty as you would expect from a second chance romance. I enjoy a good angsty read so this book was just what I needed.
Derek and Annabelle are great characters to read. Derek is a moody pain in the backside since losing Annabelle many years ago. Both believed that the other broke their heart and the hurt that both are feeling makes this a very good read.
The author did a great job of pulling me into the story from the very beginning and keeping me engaged and wanting to read more, right up to the very end.

Alpha fated mates romance, with a smart FMC and swoon worthy single dad

4.5 rounded up

Book 2 in a (currently) set of 3, but each can be read as a standalone. There’s some easter eggs and hints as to what occurs in the other books but as they seem to run simultaneously in time there’s not many big spoilers if you don’t know what you’re looking for.

I absolutely love the pairing of Mason and Riley. This book also kind of gives us two books in one as we also see the fated mate pairing of Alexa and Miles occur at the same time (and do I want to read that book to know what they’re thinking and feeling!).

An insta connection is formed due to the Mason and Riley being fated mates, but the journey of them being together isn’t forced and feels organic outside of that connection. I loved that Riley is so taken with Archer, Mason’s son, and is a supportive role model right away. I also really enjoyed that Riley isn’t your average pretty FMC, she’s an outdoorsy scientist type who isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. I found Mason’s love and devotion to his son to be swoon-worthy and made the character more well rounded than just being the pack alpha.

Also, I abhor Thea as a character and the tension she’s adding on the building relationships in the books so far, but I also want her to find her person and see her get her just deserts in having to fight for that relationship.

CW: Workplace sexual harassment.

It Just Comes Natural (Powder River Pack Book 3) by Brooke May – Review by Alexandria Richard

It Just Comes Natural (Powder River Pack Book 3)It Just Comes Natural by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A shifter based paranormal romance. Includes military, fake identity, accidental pregnancy romance.

Right off the bat I have to say that I really enjoyed the levity that Goose the Goat and little hellion Miranda brings to this mostly serious book. This one is also a fairly quick read of only a few hours, but it kept me thoroughly engaged and rooting for Macy and Brandon to make it work.

Macy is the daughter of the alpha of a rival pack, and is expected to wed another when she meets her fated mate Brandon, a soldier, out at a club. After one passionate night they’re lost to one another for five aching years. When Brandon stumbles into Macy again the connection is still there, but is the desire to be together?

I enjoyed the military aspect of this novel, and the fact that Brandon’s unit was a covert one which utilized their shifter abilities. I also enjoyed seeing a bit of Macy’s strength, for ex her struggle of finding her own feet while being a single parent to baby and young child Miranda. I enjoyed the pairing of Macy and Brandon and hope to read more about them in snippets in the future books (hopefully there will be more as I am really enjoying this series).

I also enjoyed the little catch ups we got to see of the main couples from books 1 and 2 (and more), though they’re more easter eggs to get you to want to read those rather than straight out spoilers of what occurred in those books.

CW: PTSD, military action, murder.

A Second Chance (Powder River Pack Book 1) by Brooke May – Review by Alexandria Richard

A Second Chance (The Powder River Pack #1)A Second Chance by Brooke May
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Second chance paranormal shifter romance. An emotional wringer.

4.5 rounded up.

A fairly short read (a few hours), this is the first book in a series. This novel is not a straight forward romance and will put your emotions through the wringer! Heads up that this book has easter eggs as to things that happen in the other books as they read as if they are happening simultaneously for the most part.

This book follows Annabelle and Derek, and their journey back to one another.

I enjoyed the slight murder mystery that occurs in this book alongside the journey Annabelle and Derek must go through to be back together. There’s hesitancy on both their parts, which is understandable after being apart, and thinking the other didn’t care in the same way, for eight years.

In this series the men are the shifters (werewolves) but it’s not the kind we’re used to reading about, where they’re larger than normal wolves but basically the same; here, the werewolves are some hybrid animal that takes over control of the body only on the full moon and sometimes when emotions get too extreme.

I really enjoyed the additional input of side characters, some of whom we see more of in the future books in this series.

CW: murder, degenerative disease, heartache

4.5 Stars

It Just Comes Natural is the third book in The Powder River Pack series by Brooke May. This is another captivating paranormal romance, with shifters, werewolves, fated mates, angst, action, drama, chemistry, struggles, responsibility, and family.
Brandon Quarters is back in his hometown after serving in the military with his own mission- to find the ‘one-who-got-away’. But fate has a big surprise in store for him when he finally tracks her down. One that will turn his world upside down. And Ms, May doesn’t make it easy on these two- she makes them work for any chance at happiness. But as always- she delivered another wonderful story and a worthy addition to the series.
Looking forward to seeing what she does next!
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Brooke May!
