I must say that even though it isn’t my go to genre I was still as impressed with this book as I was with the first. I found that the author has a unique way of writing that the books just flow one right after the other. There is a constant that brings each book together. I was as hooked from page one of this book five as I was from book one.
This book really brings things full circle as Petrosky really has to battle his inner demons and work his way through the case. I really felt my heart strings tugging for him. I like how the author was able to make it so that you had bated breath to see how things would turn out. Petrosky really has his redemption in this final book. I really would like to read more from this author in the future and even though it isn’t my go to genre I will be reading this series again as I am sure that as with most you tend to find details and things that you missed the first time.

Once again, like I so often find myself with anything written by KL Montgomery, I am at a loss of how to do this novel justice with a review. It is hard when a book so greatly resounds with you and your life to put exactly into words how that makes you feel as you are reading, and long after you are finished. I think most of us book fanatics understand the feeling and so a simple opinion will just have to do. I highly recommend that you pick up this novel, and the rest of the series that is available now! One-click the whole series, and prepare to fall in love with Rehoboth.
Claire Sterling is dealing with a lot of life changes. You could call it a midlife crisis, but that is just because it happens to be taking place just shy of her 40th birthday. See, Claire is now a newly single mom, a divorcee to be, and a, well, a ‘fat girl’. She is struggling to find her identity as a woman facing all these obstacles that have just been dumped in her path. Throw in the fact that she now has to move home with her parents in Delaware and that she has a job writing a blog type reoccurring spot for the New York Times, and well you have a perfect equation for some funny stories and times.
In her column, Her Reinvention, she faces her problems head on, and very publically. Her Reinvention is full of her self-depreciating antics, funny dating mishaps, basically her actual ‘reinvention’ is on display, and it makes for some awesome reading material. Her humor really resounded with me. I feel like I often make something funny so that I don’t have to cry. This is something that I know a lot of women face and could connect to. I loved following her journey. I was sad when the book ended. Claire still has a lot to learn and fix so to speak, but she is stronger and a bit more confident by the end of the novel.
Another positive that I feel is worth mentioning, KL Montgomery incorporates the seasons in the novel by breaking it up into sections with poems/quotes that ring true to the seasons of life. This is something I love to see in novels. Poetry/quotes are a huge addiction of mine and I feel like it really is another great way to connect the reader to the story.

The Flip: Romance in Rehoboth Book #2 KL Montgomery is an automatic one-click author for me. I am always finding things I can relate to in her characters. This book was not anything different and I loved every second of my time spent at the beach with Andrew and Sonnet. This is the perfect poolside read, if you are like me and don’t have access to a beach, otherwise, go read this at the beach!

The Flip is the second book in the Romance in Rohoboth series, but it can be read as a standalone. I don’t know why you would though because it too is a five-star read! The Flip has the same ring of rom-com that is prevalent in a lot of KL Montgomery’s work. I found myself laughing a lot of the book. Who doesn’t need a little more laughter and love in their lives?
Andrew and Sonnet can’t stand each other, at least that is what they thought at first. High school rivals they were glad to be rid of each other after graduation. Well not for long. Penelope Vaughn has a different plan in mind. Upon her death she gifts her beachfront property to both of them. Penelope was Andrew’s great aunt. Her connection to Sonnet is that she used to be her neighbor that she went to and sought comfort from in times of need.
The house really needs some work. The two feel like they could manage to ‘flip’ the house together. They both could use the money and have the profits set to be used for their dreams. The process isn’t as easy as it sounds though for them. Can they work together to get through this or will they continue to bash heads at every turn? What will happen when they start to see more than an irritant and enemy in each other? Will they be willing to open up their hearts to the idea of love?
I loved Sonnet. Her classy but sassy attitude is very much like myself and I really connected to her on that level. I also loved that she was strong-willed and knew what she wanted. She didn’t back down ever to Andrew and I loved that. We need more strong positive women to read about and represent for the women of this world that aren’t afraid to live in the skin they are in.

Andrew was also a fun guy to read about. He is strong willed as well, hence their clashing personalities. He also has a joker personality, and is funny and entertaining. His secret is that he is just a big teddy bear. A soft and sweet heart, and I loved that about him. He really grew on me.
I can’t wait to see what will come with the next book, Badge Bunny! I am sure whatever is to come will be my next obsession from KL Montgomery!!

Plot Twist: Romance in Rehoboth #3 K.L. Montgomery really hits the nail on the head with this funny and entertaining Rom-Com. I have not read the other books (yet) in the Rehoboth series from her but I will be doing so soon. I loved that this book was its own force though and I was able to get lost in it without reading the others. I found myself laughing out loud, and rooting for our main characters to find the happiness they so much deserved.
Lindy is a strong curvy woman, with an attitude. She doesn’t let her self-conscious issues stop her from trying to accomplish her dreams of being in the entertainment industry. Instead she feels like she could be the next big cartoon character’s voice, maybe even a Disney princess someday? She needs flexibility in her life as she right now is tasked with taking care of her aging parents and is living with them. During the day she is a teacher at Delmarva Academy, when school is in session. She does get summers off and during this time her best of friends manage to convince her to try out for a local musical.
It is there that she meets the dashing Meric Chandler. Meric is an accountant by day, with a personality of a reserved hermit. What most people don’t know about him is his passion for theatre. It is when he is on stage that he comes out of his shell and shines brightest.
One disaster after another leaves the two finding themselves front and center of the production. Both of them begin to develop feelings for each other but are putting a hold on them because of their past issues. Lindy is terrified of putting her heart on the line. Meric is healing his heart after a bitter divorce and is not looking for a new relationship right now. Sometimes life has a way of changing our best intentions and plans and these two find themselves having a difficult time avoiding the strong feelings at the forefront. Will they be able to overcome their fears and find that happily ever after they both think that is impossible to achieve? Or will the pressures they self-impose get in the way of any future happiness they could have together?
I am itching to read the other books that are part of the Romance in Rehoboth series. I will also be keeping an eye for more installments in the future from KL Montgomery. I can guarantee this book promises laughter, love, and the right amount of tearful moments to balance it all. You won’t be disappointed you joined Lindy and Meric on their journey together. I am sure you will be finding yourself falling in love with these characters as much as I have. This is a strong five star read that will take you away from the stresses of life and have you laughing for a few hours. This is the perfect rainy day read, or even a day by the pool read.

Painting Kuwait Violet is set against the backdrop of the oil rich 1996 Kuwait. This is also a distressful time for women, well ok all time really has been for women there to be real. I struggled with this most of the novel. Then again I am one of those that has that internal struggle with time. One that stops and thinks, ‘oh it wasn’t really only 1998 ten years ago, more like it was twenty. Time flies, and while it seems like some things drastically change, other things brutally can stay the same. This is a theme that is well touched on throughout the entirety of this novel. I think it was a chance for many opportunities to address a lot of things that not your average woman would be aware of or educated on and should be more aware of. It didn’t necessarily fall completely short. However, I felt it could have expounded in a few places. Pamela Q. Fernandes was a completely new author to me when I picked up this novel, so I had no idea what I was going to get, and I was pleasantly surprised.
With all that said this book gets up close and personal with the journey of Violet Baretto. She is forced to take on a position to pay off her family’s debt. One that is way below her on multiple levels. There is many layers to this story though, not just the class and social differences that Violet faces, but the mystery and intrigue that are involved when Saba Dashti, Violet’s mistress, is introduced to the storyline. I was kept on the edge of my seat through the majority of the story and all of my questions were wrapped up by the end of the novel. Overall, it was a neat and well packaged four star read for me. I would be interested to see what else available from Pamela Q. Fernandes is in the very near future!

The story Tomb for an Eagle (Orkneyinga Murders Book 1) by Lexie Conyngham is a wonderful book that I loved reading. It is a story that hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. The story has an air of suspense and mystery that had me turning pages and wondering what was going to happen next. There is a murder that has occurred and a community wonders who did it and also who the victim is. There are many characters that you are introduced to and while there are good members of the community that live there are others that fall under suspicion and some wonder about if they could have been involved with the murder. There are scenes that had me on the edge of my seat and others that had me trying to figure out who the guilty one is. It is like trying to put together a puzzle. The story does a wonderful job in world building. It also is very detailed. I felt like I was right there with the characters seeing what they did. I found this book to be wonderfully written and a joy to read. It is one I would highly recommend.

The story Redemption: An Ash Park Novel (Volume 5) by Meghan O’Flynn is a book that I truly loved reading. It has an atmosphere of suspense that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time I was reading it. The book had me wondering what was going to happen next and where the leads/clues were all leading to. It is a story that is emotional, and my emotions went up and down like a rollercoaster. Intense, gripping, thrilling, and dark this is a story that grabbed me from the very beginning and I couldn’t put it down until I had read the final chapter. This is a story that has Detective Petrosky, after getting a call from a police department, re-evaluating two cases that have and continue to haunt him. What he is learning has him wondering and searching for the truth while sorting out the lies. Detective Petrosky has a heavy heart as he believes that he has failed everyone he has ever loved. He soon finds himself dealing with new revelations and other victims. Will Detective Petrosky find a connection between the killings? One of those cases is the murder of his daughter. Will Petrosky find her killer and just how far is he willing to go to make that happen? Read this story to find out. This is a book and series that I have loved since reading the first story. I love the way that the investigation and theories are detailed, and I always felt like I was trying to put together a puzzle to find out the truth. I found myself thinking about this story even after I had finished reading it. It is wonderfully written with amazing characters.

Books included: Fat Girl, The Flip, and Plot Twist I absolutely adored these stories! This author is definitely one of my favourites, she creates such wonderful, down to earth characters that you cannot help but fall in love with. Her writing pulls you in with ease and doesn’t let you back out until the very end. Each story is about a different character but they all interconnected in some ways. I loved Fat Girl (book 1 in the box set) Claire really spoke to me as a character; I just loved everything about her. She was such a realistic and relatable character. I loved how each book, although took place in the same setting, was completely different. A fantastic box set of 5 star reads – I highly recommend it I don’t think you will be disappointed!

What an excellent read it reels you in and keeps you hooked throughout it’s safe to say i didn’t get much done while reading this novel. It had so many twists and turns along the way which keeps you on your toes also with the action and romance it’s just the ultimate page turner. It’s definitely a must read and it will leave you wanting more from this author!

The story NEW BLOOM (Book 1) (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat is a new adult/college book. It is a story that hooks you in from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put it down until I had finished the last page. I loved reading about Gwen. She is a young woman who has just graduated college and believes that she has her future sorted out. She is a strong person who is not always the social butterfly. She enjoys staying home and watching a movie instead of a night out on the town. What happens when the future that Gwen has for herself suddenly changes and there is an appearance of a mysterious man who she feels connected to? Read this book to find out. I found myself empathizing with Gwen on the situation that she finds herself in. The conflict between herself and someone she loves is one that although she could see coming was still hard to take. Gwen is someone who wishes for approval and she doesn’t feel that she is being taken seriously as an adult. The feelings that she has for the mysterious man that has entered her life surprises her. She is also confused when a situation happens that cause questions to be raised. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down. It is a wonderfully written book that I would recommend reading. It is part of a two-story series and has a cliffhanger ending. I am looking forward to reading the next book.

I have been so looking forward to reading the next instalment in this series. I have truly fallen in love with the characters in the story and the author. Her writing completely absorbs me into the amazing world that she had created. Her beautiful descriptions of the settings for the stories are a huge plus for these books – her attention to detail is amazing. I really did feel for Soren, my heart broke for him a little in this story and I really felt like I got to know him a lot more than I had in the previous books. As soon as he met Elena I could feel the connection, I could almost feel his hope begin to rise to the surface, hope that he might be ok after all. I loved the passion and chemistry between them. I’ve tried not to have a favourite book in this series because I have loved them all so far but I think this one may just take the top spot. I absolutely loved it and I really cannot recommend the book and the series enough!

The story Eternal Bloom (Book 2) (Bloom Duet) by A.E. Gamrat is a new adult/college book. This is the second book in a series and the books need to be read in order to fully understand what is happening. This book picks up where the last one left off with Gwen’s mother in the hospital and with the uncertainty that both she and her father feels. Gwen has so many questions going on in her mind and the primary one is if her mother will survive. If she does will their relationship be smoother than before or will the divide that separates them be just as wide? I liked the fact that Gwen has those who support her through this time in her life and they are true friends and are just like family to her. Gwen is also asking herself if Kame will come back to her. He has said that he wants a relationship with her, however, there are doubts in her mind that she finds hard to put aside. What will happen with Kame and Gwen? She feels the pull that he has on her soul, are they meant to be together? Read this book to find out. This part of Gwen’s story is tumultuous, and uncertainty is a part of life. While Gwen is dealing with all that is going on I like that fact that she is ready to stand her ground on issues important to her. This part of Gwen’s story had me glued to the book until I had read the final page. I just had to know how it all turned out. It is as wonderfully written as the first book and I enjoyed reading it.

Redemption, the fifth book in the Ash Park series and the fifth book that I could not put down! Each story really has gone from strength to strength. The author has truly done an amazing job keeping the excellent level of writing the same over the series; the plot has been exciting, gritty, and dark and has kept my attention throughout. She builds tension like no other author I have read before and throws in some fantastic and much unexpected twists! Just when you think you know what’s going to happen along comes one of those very twists! I would highly recommend reading the books in order but for absolute definite book 4 should be read before this one. This has been an amazing series, definitely not for the faint-hearted. It is full of amazing characters, dark, gritty moments and above all absolutely flawless writing. I really cannot recommend Redemption and the Ash Park series enough!

The story My Hidden Life: Brothers of Camelot Prequel (My Life Series Book 1) by Necie Navone is a coming of age book that includes an air of suspense that sometimes has you wondering what is going to happen next. It is the story of a girl who is the Princess of the Canzano crime Family and who is the one her father has chosen to take over when the time comes. I enjoyed reading about Alessandra. She is a strong, resourceful, and confident young woman. She has learned how to defend herself from a young age and has learned how to do so very well. It is also a bit sad to read about how Alessandra’s life is so controlled. She is a girl that wants to be normal and take part in the activities that other’s her age does, however, she is finding that can never be the life that she leads. Alessandra is also not as naïve as some would believe her to be. She knows about her family and about some of the business that they in. Alessandra’s uncle is a large part of her life. The story is told from her and her uncle’s POV. She is like a daughter to him and he is very protective of her. Another part of Alessandra’s life that is sad is how her father is absent from involvement in it. He is a hard man and I found cruel at times. There are many other characters that are introduced in the story. Many of them are other family members or a few select friends that Alessandra has and interacts with. Others are there to protect her as a member of the Family. This is a story that had me hooked from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put it down until I had finished the last page. It is wonderfully written and enjoyable to read. It is a book I would recommend.

I loved seeing the Raven group back and the adventures they get themselves into. This is a fast moving story that kept me on the edge of my seat just waiting to see what will happen next or if the group will find the missing teenager. This story is full corruption, suspense and mystery. Is there a link between the missing brides and the missing children? Will the group be able to find them before it is too late? I highly recommend this book to find out if the innocent can be saved.
Silk Road by Lynda Filler is the sixth book in her Code Raven series. This is a book that will keep you on the edge of your seat and reading right to the end. This book has a complex and intriguing story line. There are many different things going on. Things that at first might not seem linked. But not everything is quite that clear cut. The author takes you on a journey full of twists and turns. The writing draws you in from the start and makes sure not to let you go at all. I found that I had to read this book in one sitting because I wanted to know what was going on. And to read about all the “old gang” again was great. It is always nice to step back into such interesting and well established characters. This was another great addition to the series.
Beckoned Part 5: Adrift in Costa Rica by Aviva Vaughn is an incredibly well written book. It is part of a series that personally I think needs to be read in order. This time we delve further into the life of Soren as he jets off to Costa Rica. This is a book I am so glad the author decided to write. Getting to see more of Soren is something I was hoping for and this book lives up to every expectation I could have hoped for. He was a character I already liked but can easily say I love even more after reading this book. This whole series has been well written and addictive and this book is no exception.

Give and Take by Lee Kilraine is the second book in the The Thorne Brothers series and follows the relationship of the youngest Thorne brother Wyatt and the colourful Rhia.
Wyatt is a quiet, orderly man, so when his work space is invaded by a young women who has been given a chance to have an office rent free for a year within the offices of the brothers construction company, the only problem is the office is in use and she will have to share with the quiet, serious brother.
Rhia has been always been the black sheep of her family, she has tried all sorts of jobs but now has started her own business as a event planner. She applied for the grant from the Thorne brothers to be able to have office space rent free for a year which would be a great help to her as she is short on funds at the moment but did not expect to be sharing an office with the bland, serious brother Wyatt.
As the story goes on you get to see the dynamic between Rhia and Wyatt grows throughout the story and it becomes a great chemistry. I loved the character of Wyatt as a main role, he was not a alpha male but a sensitive soul with a big heart and a loyalty to who he loves and respects. I loved the slightly scatty character of Rhia, especially as she had a poor relationship with her family and that Wyatt saves her in the end. The story was great and this story can be read as a stand alone, but as this is the first story I have read by this author I would love to read the first book relating to Beck and Sam’s story. I would also love to read the other books in the other series Lee has written also.

I absolutely love that every book in this series gets better and better. I was most certainly not disappointed with Hidden by Meghan O’Flynn. And if I could really say what I want to say, you’d have to cover your ears.
The simple fact that as a reader you can experience every single detail that is described in this book is mind blowing, literally. The author completely excels at her craft and can creep you out. I sat on the edge of my seat trying to figure this one out. I obviously went in blind, even though I read the previous books, and am so glad that I did. The fact that her character development is on par with the world building, is what makes me love her work. Seriously, this I consider another 5 Star Book! I love everything about it.
The Jack is book two in The Immortal Series written by M.K. Harkins. This story is part two following The Readers. In book one you met a lot of the characters and they are also in The Jack’s however this story focuses more on Archer and the Jack’s. There are new characters introduced and you feel the change coming in the story you just aren’t sure which way it will go yet. With Archer back home with the Readers can he prove his Innocence with the help of his friends and an unlikely seer. Or will the Jack’s come out of hiding and finish what they started with the War..and then there is the Reader who has betrayed everyone…if only they could figure it out before it’s too late… Reviewed by @krystalgaston

Hidden is the fourth book in the Ash Park series by Meghan O’Flynn. This series keeps getting better and better. I think Hidden is my favorite in the series so far, but all of the books are wonderfully thrilling and horribly bone chilling. This story outdoor be read as a standalone, but there are recurring characters throughout the series and all the books are great reads. This book and series is full graphic details and gritty suspenseful twists and turns that lean toward terrifying, so this may not be the book for some. This series is really hard to review because I don’t want to give anything away, so I will just say if you love books that get into the minds of killers then this is the book for you. I can’t wait to read book five in this series and hope Ms. O’Flynn continues with this series.

I truly enjoyed this book and the difficult task the author tackled in providing such a variety of POV while telling the story. The rich detail allowed me to easily imagine myself walking alongside the main characters and experiencing theirr lives with them. I was invested on the first page. I cannot wait to keep reading this prequel. Loved it and will highly recommend.
The Ash Park series continues with a bang and this latest installment certainly doesn’t disappoint. This gritty, action packed thriller left me breathless. O’Flynn continues to impress me with her writing style and innate ability to weave such a dynamic tale that keeps me guessing until the very end. What an absolutely amazing ride – I’m still speechless.

WOW…..
OMG what a book…This is my second story by this author and it was AMAZING!! I don’t know why I started with the 4th book in this series, its a mystery I’ll never understand but one that I will fix as soon as possible. I wish I’d have read the others but it did not take away at all from this story, I was never lost and enjoyed every single word and that ending…. Yea will be reading the next one as quick as I can get my hands on it, then I’ll go back to Book 1 and start all over lol
I literally could see every scene happening, some of them of course gave me chills and I wish I couldn’t see it but this no doubt could be on a big screen. I literally could see this being made into a motion picture and would be surprised if the author has not heard that before.
The flow was simply perfect and every word relevant and Im not going into any details because it will ruin it for anyone else that wants to pick this book up…I will say that I loved loved loved Petrosky, he was literally a jerk through most of the story but the kind of jerk you can’t help but love.
I can not wait to read the next, and I can not wait to read more of this author’s work..The first book I read by her was more of a horror story and although this book had a lot of horrible things in it, it is now on my list as one of the best written books I’ve read this year.
There are some big name authors out there that have major best selling books in this genre and yes I’ve enjoyed those as well…But they have nothing on the writing talent of this author.

The Boss by Abigail Owen a five-star read that will blow you away. This is the first book in the Fire’s Edge series and what a start, this is such a compelling story, Finn will break your heart, Dragon shifter stories are something I’ve avoided for a little while as I was getting over done with them, but Abigal Owen has brought a literal breath of fresh air and fire to the genre. Finn was a great character, you will feel his pain and then his confusion as if its your own. There were bits that could have been done a little better, but overall this was a great story. Can’t wait for the next story in the series.

Georgia on my Mind by K.G. Fletcher a four-star read that will play in your dreams on repeat. This is the second book in the Southern Promises series, but each book can be read as stand-alone, but as usual you get the best overall experience from reading the whole series. Hartford what can I say about you, he is most certainly a character that will cause you drama. Heads butt and hearts collide in this story filled with passion. This is becoming a series you wont want to miss.

Michael’s Heart by Lori Thomas Harrington is a five star novel. I love sappy love stories, especially ones that make you think and rope you in right from the get go. That’s what this one did. The book starts with a series of events that turns Colbie’s life upside down. Good news and bad news all makes the first several chapters fascinating. Then Michael comes into the story and it is confusing and interesting all at the same time. This is a must read for anyone who loves all those hallmark movies. I wouldn’t be surprised if this one became the next hallmark movie on tv!

Love, Christmas – Movies You love is a boxed set anthology of 26 Christmas stories based on movies. Each story is unique in its own way and will have you either laughing, crying, or sitting at the edge of of your seat in suspense. All the stories are great but three stories stood out to me: Finding Love On Christmas Vacation by Stacy Eaton, A Christmas Creek Carol by Rachelle Ayala and A Christmas Getaway by Jen Talty.
Finding Love on Christmas Vacation by Stacy Eaton is the story of Lucy, which spends every Christmas with her father, Charlie, at his cabin. This year she will spend it without her father, since is has passed away and she will be spreading his ashes on the lake as per his final request. Her father always spoke of a friend that always stayed in the neighboring cabin, his name is Maverick. Have you ever fallen in love with someone before you meet them? Maverick did,he was in love with Lucy by the stories and pictures her father always shared with Maverick through the years. He finally has his chance to meet her and the connection is instant between the two. This is a quick, holiday romance that you will truly enjoy the same way I did.
A Christmas Creek Carol by Rachelle Ayala is the story of Ebony and Blaze. Ebony is a writer that is back in Christmas Creek for the holidays to write her next story. Blaze is in the military and visiting his father for the holiday but also to see Ebony. Blaze will go to any lengths to make Ebony realize that they are meant to be together. Will Ebony finish writing her story and will Blaze finally be with Ebony? You will have to read to find out.
A Christmas Getaway by Jen Talty is the story about Olivia and Ryder. Olivia always takes her son Noah away for the holidays, since his dad was a Navy Pilot that was killed before he was born. Ryder is a Navy Seal that has book a cabin at a resort for the holidays. What are the odds that two people can book the same cabin at the same time? Well it happens to Olivia and Ryder and this is how the two meet. Ryder, like Olivia & Noah, has suffered an immense loss when his wife and sons were murdered the day after Christmas. Both have shared loss and they both can help each other through the pain of loss of your significant other. This story completely gutted me but also made me smile on how these two strangers can fall in love in the midst of pain.
I truly enjoyed reading all the stories in this anthology. It had me jonesing for the holidays to get here. I highly recommend this anthology and read each one so you can find your favorites.

Georgia Pine by K.G. Fletcher Five Stars Georgia Pine is the third book in the Southern Promises book by K.G. Fletcher. This book can be read as a standalone, but I would highly recommend that you read the whole series because all of the books are five stars. This book had me hooked from the very first page, and I couldn’t put it down until the very last. Jessica is such a strong women, finding herself on her own taking care of her three daughters. Along comes the sexy gardener, Tim, and the chemistry flairs. The secret that Tim carries may cause problems if he doesn’t come clean to Jessica. The bonding that Tim has with Jessica’s daughter is amazing, and the book has all the feels. This is my favorite book by K.G. Fletcher and l can’t wIt to see what she will write in the future.
This book was awesome. This is the second book that i have read by this author and it did not let me down. It was heartbreakingly beautiful and it was one of those stories that i didn’t want to put down. Quinn and Noah are the main characters and i couldn’t help but love them. They had one of those relationships that started quickly and burned bright without the chance of flaming out. I also enjoyed some of the secondary characters, especially the parents. I laughed and laughed and at some points i cried. I really did love this book. I cannot wait to read more by this author and i would absolutely recommend this to a friend! Review by Anastasia D.
Give and Take by Lee Kilraine is the second book in the Thorne Brothers series. I had not read the first book but was easily able to follow the story. This book focuses on Wyatt and Rhia. The two are polar opposites. Wyatt is quiet and very meticulous with everything in his life. Rhia is outspoken and a free spirit. The two personalities crash together but will they mesh? This is a fun read with no unexpected craziness. This was a welcome distraction from my daily life and gave me a little smile. I will be catching more from this writer in the future. Everyone can use a good, happy story from time to time.

The Jack is book 2 and should be read after book one called The Reader. This series is off to a fantastic, adventurous start. I enjoyed reading this book and learning about the newest characters. Some characters return from book one and others are new to us.
The bottom line is essentially the same as book one. Good versus evil. There were three groups unknown to humans, trying to make the world a better place. One group, The Jacks, decided to turn away from good, while the Readers and the Seers continued making peace. After a war between the groups it was believed that all of the Jacks were destroyed. However, we have book 2 telling us a different story!
The story line is a little different in that, Sadie who is a Seer, must fulfill the vision of destroying the last of the Jacks. But Harkins has other plans! Archer is that last known Jack and while he has his own secrets he must earn back the trust of his friends who are seers and readers.
I liked how this story kept the mystery of the three groups, humans still don’t know they exist. I liked how the characters worked together with their powers to find out the truth. This story was easy to read as are Harkins other books. Definite recommendation for anyone liking a little adventure in a fantasy world!
