Another winning book by M.K Harkins. This is book two in the Immortal Series. It is just as exciting as the first. Archer is back having to make a hard decision, protect humanity or avoid an eternal prison sentence. Supposed to kill all the Readers, he changed his mind at the last minute and saved them. Now he’s truly alone. All the Jacks are dead and the Readers want him dead or imprisoned. A surprise meeting with a Seer will change the course of his life. Little does he know she must kill the last remaining Jack. Love has other ideas and fate makes the mortal enemies work together.
The book was well written and drew me in from the start. The author introduced some new characters and threw in quite a few surprises that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This is an excellent continuation to the series. I’m looking forward to seeing what comes next.

Love, Christmas: Movies You Love is a superb anthology made up of 26 wonderful stories from 26 very accomplished authors. This is a fabulous collection of Holiday Romances, all with a common theme which is “favourite Christmas movies”- and each author has chosen one of their favourite Christmas movies as inspiration for their story. The movies range from “The Holiday”, “It’s A Wonderful Life”, “A Christmas Carol”, The Polar Express”, “Miracle on 34th Street”, How The Grinch Stole Christmas”, and “A Charlie Brown Christmas”- just to name a few. Every story is unique to the author and different from its companions- all having their own tone, feel and flavour- but yet managing to complement one another by the use of the same inspiration. The stories range from contemporary romance, to regency romance, second chances… and more. We meet a variety of wonderful characters who bring their story to life, characters such as; Doctor, Princess, Single Mother, Navy Seal, author, children, furry friends, magical beings, Angel, broken characters, and many more . This book collection took me on a journey that had a little bit of everything, from mystery, suspense, romance, humour, drama, emotions, deception, twists, surprises, heart, soul, snow, mistletoe, family, friends, memories, miracles, a touch of danger in places, new beginnings, painful pasts, sparks, sizzle, and many endearing characters. I was excited to see several of my favourite authors had contributed to the collection- Mimi Barbour, Stephanie Queen, Tamara Ferguson, Melinda De Ross, and Natalie Ann and as expected they didn’t let me down, captivating me from beginning to end with their stories. Other authors who I am familiar with from reading some of their works in other Anthologies, but as yet haven’t had a chance to fully explore their books- but this has pushed me to make sure that I do so very soon. Then there are quite a few new-to-me authors who I will now be adding to my TBR to enjoy over he coming months. So, be prepared to be swept away into all the various storylines and situations as each story unfolds. There are many hours of stimulating, heart-warming, and enticing reading to be had. So, strap yourself in and get ready for take-off.

Give and Take by Lee Kilraine a four-star read you will want to take away with you. This was a great story and I plan on going back to read the first story in The Thorne Brothers series before moving on to the next chapter as this was great. Rhia was a brilliant character, she was the perfect compliment to Wyatt and his crazy hotness/urrggness. There was a great easiness to the story and a flow to the words that made it an easy read, I felt a little light depth may have mad the overall story a little better, but I have high hopes that once I go back and read the rest it will get better and better.

This Christmas anthology is just as I hoped it would be – a sweet and romantic collection of stories filled with charm and cheer that beckons the reader to a cozy couch with cocoa in hand. The authors incorporated well known holiday movie themes into their respective stories, doing justice to the original theme and yet providing a new take an a classic. A simply delightful collection that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. I look forward to reading them again by the light of my Christmas tree.

“The Jack” is the second book in the riveting The Immortal series by MK Harkins. Please read “The Reader” first so you know what is going on! First of all, I just need to say “HOLY MOLEY!!” “The Jack” was SO good! I knew it would be, because I LOVED “The Reader” and this series is blowing my mind how good it is! “The Jack” gives us a different perspective than “The Reader” but with the same main characters, plus the lovely addition of Sadie. This story is about Archer and Sadie, a mysterious woman that Archer meets while keeping an eye on Devon and Ann. I won’t give away details but I was so surprised by the direction MK Harkins has taken with this book and makes me so excited to read more about these amazing characters! The story is so different that any story I have ever read and I’m eating it up! The originality, surprise twists and amazing imagery make this book a must read page-turner! So much love for MK Harkins and the mind blowing The Immortal series! I give “’The Jack” five whole hearted stars! I wish I could give more to truly convey how much I loved this book!! The Alterations Trilogy by Jane Suen was an interesting series. Each book deserves a mention. Alterations by Jane Suen was a short novella that left me shocked! It’s a science fiction story with lots of suspense and mystery. The storylines are compelling. The three lead females are each going through things and each character is unique. The author does a great job going between each character’s story. I think my favorite storyline was Ellen’s. I can relate to her struggles with losing weight and wanting badly to be able to lose it. It is amazing that one day we could be doing similar things that happen in this book. These women are so desperate to change their lives they go to this doctor kite and in the end have to deal with the consequences. I found this book to be interesting and unique. I was pretty shocked by the doctors methods and how he did things. Game Changer by Jane Suen is book number two in the Alterations trilogy. Definitely read book one as this one starts shortly after. I enjoyed book one and I enjoyed this one as well. Jane has an uncanny ability to write interesting and intriguing books that not only entertain you but they aren’t long and drawn out. I love reading her books because they always seem to surprise me in someway. I didn’t even know there was going to be other books in this series so I was pleased to find out there was more. I enjoyed reading about the characters from book one and seeing the story progress. Primal Will by Jane Suen is the final book in the Alterations trilogy. This book tied up the other two and was a pretty good way to end things. Overall I liked the book. My favorite of the series was book one but I liked how the author ended the series. I liked the books and the story. The authors writing style is unique and different and that’s what I like about it. I would rate this series 4 stars.

a great trilogy about finding love where you least expect it. Set in the idyllic seaside town of Rehoboth, the first novel tells the story of writer Claire starting life again after her divorce as a writer and mother. Will she lose the weight she wants and find the man of her dreams? Sonnet and Drew have been bitter rivals since high school years ago. But when Sonnet’s aunt leaves them both a house in disrepair, can they put their differences aside and sell it together? Lindy Larson has always been shy, but takes a backing vocal part in a production fo a play by Claire. When troubles arise, will she find courage and take the leading lady part? a series of great reads. Well developed plots with twists and tunrs and surprises that you will not be able to put down. Well developed characters of women who go for what they want such as Sonnet and her science teaching dreams or Claire to lose weight balanced with the humour of Drew. Great example of switching perspectives in the novels between chapters that was well written to dispaly both sides of events and were easy to follow. Great romances placed in amazing setting of wonderful natural imagery. for example the little beach town by the seaside with its stunning sunsets and storms in vivid beauty but wild and free. Overall, a great trilogy and I would give it five stars.

This is a box set of three books by this author. Each book took me on a journey with three girls. They each had their reasons for wanting to change their lives and what they are willing to risk is higher than they could imagine. This is a fast reading series that has twists and turns that left me sitting on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put down until the last page. I highly recommend this box set and find out how one implant could change these girls lives forever.

These are short stories that warmed my heart and pulled at my heartstrings. They bring the magic of Christmas the way it’s supposed to be, full of love, giving and togetherness. I have my favorites and I am sure you will find your favorites as well. I highly recommend this book.

This is a box set of three books by this author that are full of romance and women and the men who fall in love with them. The characters took me on a roller coaster ride of various emotions from compassion to laughter. Each book pulled me in from the beginning and kept me reading until I finished the last page. They are about finding yourself, letting yourself love and really just accepting yourself for who you are and letting others do the same thing. I highly recommend this box set.

The Boss ( Fire’s Edge #1) by Abigail Owen. This is a new to me author. While it was out of my usual genre, I really did enjoy it. If you love paranormal and shifters then this book will definitely be right up your alley. It was an easy, fast read that kept you wanting more. There was plenty of storyline to keep you intrigued and there was also steamy romance( which I loved!!). I am looking forward to reading more from this author and definitely this series!

The box set Romance in Rehoboth Boxed Set (Books 1-3) is a collection of stories that I loved reading. They hooked me in from the very beginning and I didn’t want to put them down until I had read the final page of each book. They have wonderful storylines and amazing characters. Each one focuses on a couple and I found myself rooting for them to find happiness together. While the characters show they can be independent they also are looking for true love. Will they find it? I enjoyed reading about how the characters interact/banter with each other and the other characters in the books. These are wonderfully written stories that I would highly recommend reading.

The anthology Love, Christmas – Movies You Love (The Holiday Series Book 2) are wonderful stories that I loved reading. The stories are all different lengths however the romance and spirit of Christmas shines through with each one I read. There are so many different authors that I have never read stories by and I found that I enjoyed the different writing styles. Those are the main reasons that I love anthologies so much. There are heartwarming and romantic moments that I loved reading about. I enjoyed reading about the characters, how they interact with each other and the role each one of them has in the stories. Starting each story that I read was like unwrapping a different present under the tree. There are moments that make you go “Aww” and also times when I got misty-eyed. Each story that I read was wonderfully written and ones that I would recommend. A cup of hot chocolate and a plate of cookies are recommended when you settle down on the couch to read this anthology.

They are stories that had me on the edge of my seat, turning pages to find out what was going to happen next. It is the story of three women Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly. It also includes the mysterious character of Dr. Kite. The stories hook you in from the very beginning and I found myself not wanting to put them down until I had finished each one. The storylines have some twists that I didn’t see coming. Find out if Gigi, Ellen, and Lilly find the happiness that they are seeking. I enjoyed reading about each character and the part they play in the books. These stories are thrilling and have an atmosphere of mystery. Wonderfully written and books I would recommend reading.

The Plot by Melinda De Ross is an intriguing and suspenseful story that took me on an action-packed ride and had me anxiously flipping pages to discover what would happen next. Ms. De Ross is a new to me author, so I wasn’t sure what to expect going into the story. But I was pleasantly surprised by what I found when I dove in. This story was quite absorbing and pulled me in quite quickly. I didn’t expect to become quite so invested in the story or the characters- but I did. I Really felt for Yoko (and her friend) and what they’d been through. I was rooting for her right from the beginning. Then add Mark into the mix and I was hooked. The story has drama, some mystery, suspense, danger, intrigue, Chinese Triads, human trafficking/sex slavery, abuse, survival, revenge, secrets, romance, trust, and hope. What Yoko Hirano had suffered through for 4 years, no person should ever have to endure. Taken from her home in Japan, she finds herself in New York, where she’s forced into prostitution at the hands of a vile human being. This has left Yoko suspicious, cynical, wary and ashamed. She may not be in the clutches of the Triad anymore, but her experiences haunt her every single day. She has worked hard to put herself through college, to earn a degree and build a better future for herself. But, her driving force is her need for vengeance- and the plans she has to bring the Triad to its knees. But in the meantime, she needs a job to get by, until she has her qualifications. This leads her to a high-end antiques and collectables store, working for the ruggedly handsome owner. He stirs feelings in her that she’s never experienced before. But she doesn’t believe in love, romance or ‘happily-ever-afters’. And he wouldn’t want her anyway, especially if he knew about her past. Mark Chandler might own the antique store, but there is much more to him than meets the eye. He has some surprising secrets of his own. He is drawn to Yoko from the moment he lays eyes on her and can’t help but wonder what caused the sadness he sees in her eyes. He’s determined to find out and help her if he can. What happens when he discovers the tragic details of her past? Will it put an end to their budding relationship? Will Yoko discover what Mark has been hiding? Will She manage to follow through with her plans and take down an entire criminal organisation? This book was more than I hoped for and much better than I had expected. Well worth the read! I will definitely be exploring more of Ms. De Ross’s work in the future.

The Plot is a suspenseful romance by Melinda De Ross. This is the first book I have read by this author, but definitely won’t be the last. This book had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down till the last. Yoko is such a strong woman, made that way by the circumstances in her youth. When things start going her way, being hired by Mark at an antique shop, life starts changing for her. This book had me reaching for a tissue more than once, and I had to struggle with not throwing my iPad across the room at times. I love how this book brought out such big emotions in me. It does deal with sensitive issues like human trafficking and abuse, so may contain triggers for some people, but I think it was handled well by this author. I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read more by Melinda De Ross.

Touchdown: A Steamy Football Romance is the first book in The Big Apple Series by Alexa Summers and A.J Phoenix. This story is a great sports romance full of suspense, dramatic events, and surprising developments. I really enjoyed the story, particularly the quirky, complex and interesting characters. They really made the story come alive and gave it extra depth, emotion, fun, romance and tension. There were characters I loved, and characters I loved to hate. You will know what I mean when you read all the details for yourself. This was my first read by these authors, and I am happy to say that it definitely won’t be my last. Lexi Driver is a popular reporter for a local Sports Channel. She loves her job and is very good at it. But things go awry when she gets caught up in a locker room scandal that leaves her hot under the collar, in more ways than one- with an embarrassed and highly annoyed footballer to contend with. Brett Brock has wanted to make a name for himself in football, but gaining attention by having his manhood broadcast for everyone to see had never factored into his plans- he had wanted his skills on the field to be noticed and appreciated, so being humiliated on live television was definitely not what he’d had in mind. He’s determined to gat a little payback and give Lexi a dose of her own medicine. But as he puts his plans in motion, he discovers that they are a lot more compatible than just intense chemistry. But there seems to be someone hell bent on destroying not only their happiness, but also their careers. Little do either of them expect to get caught up in an even bigger scandal that puts everything they had built in serious jeopardy. What ensues definitely challenges them on many levels while they navigate the fallout from the plots and dastardly deeds. This book was a great read and I really liked taking this journey with Lexi and Brett. I am a little torn as to what to rate this book, because the first half of the book was an entertaining 4 star read, but the second half of the book was definitely a riveting 5 star read- so therein lies my dilemma. If you love a great sports romance with quirky and relatable characters who take you on a fun and romantic read, then this is definitely the book for you! I’m looking forward to more from these authors!

The Plot by Melinda De Ross This book had me hooked from the beginning and I couldn’t put it down. I read this story in one night because it was that good!! I loved Yoko, she is such a strong, intelligent, and beautiful woman. Yoko has a very unhealthy view about men and relationships because of her being forced into prostitution by a human trafficking ring. She has never been in love and thinks all men only want one thing. Her and her friend manage to get away and they work really hard at starting a new life, but Yoko has added motivation, which is her need for revenge. Yoko then meets Mark who also has never been in love but there is something between these two that you can feel jumping off the pages. Mark is a very strong, intelligent man who hires Yoko to work at his antique store. He is also very intrigued and attracted to her.Both of them have secrets that are holding them back. Can they work through their secrets to experience love. Does Yoko get the revenge she so badly seeks? This is a must read. This story had me on an emotional rollercoaster that I did not want to get off of. I just got done reading it and I want to read it again!!! This is an amazing story you won’t want to miss. This is a 5 star read. I highly recommend this book.

What a strong and vivid story that plunged the reader immediately into an emotional journey. The author skillfully navigates the sensitive subject of human trafficking and treats it with honesty. The story is richly detailed and the characters are relatable and flawed. I felt so many emotions as I read this book. It was extremely well written and highly enjoyable. I will definitely recommend it to others.

Hidden An Ash Park Novel Book 4 By Meghan O’Flynn ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆ A suspense thriller at it’s best. Such a rollercoaster of a read. This Novel could be a standalone, but I have enjoyed this series. So I suggest you read the series. You will be happy you did.
Detective Petrosky takes on the worst case ever. Missing girls and and an escaped murderer. He has lost his daughter, and the guilty got away. Now the hunt is on! Petrosky and his partner Detective Morrison, must stop this psycho before he kidnaps and kills again.
Meghan O’Flynn’s story will keep you locked into this book. It has all the feels and takes you into this unforgettable thriller. One you will not take lightly. I have never been so scared reading a book. This one got me! To scared to read, and scared not to finish. I love a good mystery, and this has it all. Ash Park will forever be unforgettable. She has included some powerful characters. Boy I can’t wait to see where Meghan O’Flynn takes Ash Park next. Not for those under 18 due to adult content and violence.
The Jack was a great 5 star read and book 2 in The Immortal Series. I was excited to get started on this read to see where the series was going next with Archer.
We get pulled in right from the beginning when Archer is sitting on the beach watching the one woman he loved but would never have because of choices that were made years before. When Sadie sits down next to him, something happens that causes him to make a choice.
By warning Archer, Sadie has revealed her true self, she panics and takes off. When Archer reveals how he knew of the impending danger, he is convinced to help search for Sadie.
What will happen when they find her? Will they work together or against each other?
I really liked Sadie, she tugged at my heart strings, especially with the years spent alone. Archer was great as well and when he connects with Sadie you can feel the connection. There is so much to this great story, suspense, twists, secrets, tears, and a little bit of romance for good measure. All of the secondary characters added a great element to the story. The Jack can be read as a stand alone, but I feel you will understand things so much better if you start with book 1. I can’t wait to get started on the next book in the series.

The Fifth Knight (The Knights of Caerleon #1) by Claire Luana & Jesikah Sundin was a fast pace, entertaining read that had me hooked from start to finish.
What a start to a new series, and being that this is the first book I have read from this author, I have to say I will be checking out other books Jesikah Sundin has written. I’m no stranger to RH, though I don’t read it as much as I use to, but it’s still a genre I like. In saying that, there ways to do it wrong and there are ways to do it right, and this my friends, is an exemplary example of a RH done, all kinds of right.
I’m going to be real with you, it wasn’t the RH that caught my eye, no it was the fact that this is a King Arthur tale, and I love anything that has Arthurian elements. This is more a retelling with our MC tossed into the mix. Now I will say that our MC Fionna is for the lack of a better word, a Mary-sue.. yes, yes, I know, I have dissed on that before, how I don’t like, it.. But.. I have also said there are ways to do it right.
To be even more honest, Fionna, though has all the markings of a Mary-Sue, also has many elements of a OP(Overpowered) character as well. Normally that mix, isn’t a good one, but, and there is a but. The writing, the character development, and the complex multi layers of Fionna, offset those two, normally, annoying traits. Jesikah Sundin managed to humanize Fionna, causing the reading(me) to connect. Fionna was nice, she wasn’t a, –I’ll do it myself, then have to get rescued– type. She wasn’t mean or mlishious to other female character (Which is the most annoying of the mary-sue tropes). She was witty but, was also flawed. I loved her as a lead characters and despite having everyone she met fall in love with her, she was probably one of the best female MC’s I’ve read about this year.
This just goes to show you, that you don’t need to following the normal “outline” of a character, to have something amazing.
Overall this book is worth your time, energy and brain power. I know I was gushing about Fionna, but I just feel like she carried the story and truly outshone the others. Yes King Arthur and his knights were well developed and great to read about, but I was drawn to Fionna. This was all due to knowing how to write a OP character and not make it cringe otherly. And for me, really showcased the authors magical writing talent.
On that note I will leave you with my super high recommendation and, my stamp of approval.
What an amazing second book of the Immortal Series, the Jack. I really like MK Harkins and she does an amazing job writing for the YA audience. The YA audience needs specialized talent to write a book and not lose their interest with in the first couple of pages. To be real I was hooked with in the first couple of paragraphs. As I stated this is the second book and to really get the story line I recommend reading the first book The Reader. There is a familiar name Archer from The Reader. Archer is trying to decide his destiny by helping the Readers, but that group does not trust him or protect the humanity. Archer has to do some soul searching for that answer. There is Sadie who is new to the series. She is an Immortal Seer which means she needs to rid the world of the dangerous Jacks. MK Harkins sets her us to be this beautiful young lady who will not be able to carry out her calling. She is trying to find out who is who and what she needs to do. Will she be able to carry her role or will she be unable to do so? Will Archer step up and help Sadie? You will have to read the book to find out.

Painting Kuwait Violet By Pamela Q Fernandes. This was my first book by this author and I wasn’t sure what to expect but I wasn’t disappointed in the least. This story was one I read in one sitting just because I continued to “have” to know what would happen next. It took me a little bit to connect fully with the book but when I got there, there was no going back. The characters are complex and flawed yet relatable and strong. It’s a book filled with life questions and suspense. Violet’s character is one that will stick with me in the future she’s just beautifully written. The entire story is well written and thought out with great attention to details. It has a nice easy flow and never felt rushed or dragging. I really enjoyed this story. I’m giving this book a four star review and highly recommend it to everyone.
Give & Take is Book 2 in The Thorne Brothers series from author Lee Kilraine. These books are a part of a series but each one can be read and thoroughly enjoyed as a stand-alone. This author doesn’t disappoint with her incredible storylines and captivating characters. I cannot wait to see what other great stories I can read from this author, and what else she will bring to this series.
This book was amazing. It had everything you needed to make this an amazing read that I was unable to put down and had me hooked from the first page. The two characters Wyatt & Rhia in this book were captivating to read and loved everything about them. They both are independent, determined characters that both have some issues impacting their future. You can’t help but root for them and hope they get a HEA.
Wyatt & Rhia have an undeniable connection from the get-go. Both of them have a way of getting into a deeper part of the other, Rhia had a way of getting under Wyatt’s skin, yet it impacted his life in a way neither of them knew, and Wyatt had a way of impacting Rhia’s life in a way she always hoped she would get from her family. They have a brilliant banter that you can’t help but have a continuous grin on your face. This book has made me smile, laugh and even let a few tears slip, but it made this book even more brilliant, captivating.
Rhia & Wyatt brought out the best in each other, and I loved seeing Wyatt’s walls break down and go from the quiet and brooding to quiet and brooding and excepting all the things that drive him mad about Rhia and actually having fun, relaxing and being himself. Rhia was the complete opposite to Wyatt in so many ways yet that made them the perfect match! To see the support and encouragement he gave her when others didn’t, really made Rhia understand and realise she should believe, and pursue what she really wanted.
I loved the secondary characters in this book and can’t wait to read how their stories unfold – picking one of the Thorne brothers to be my favourite would just be cruel, but I loved their relationship with Wyatt and even how they immediately welcome Rhia.
This is a brilliant read that should not be missed! I highly recommend this book – I cannot wait for book 3 in this series to see who’s story we get to follow and hope this isn’t the last we read of Wyatt’s & Rhia’s story.

Who: A Stalker Series Novel by Megan Mitcham 5 stars
I really liked the overall story this book told but felt a little lost in some parts, but then it picked up again and i felt like I was back on track. We follow Larkin and her crazy life. Many things happen on this story but the main focus is on her and the threats she is receiving. I was very surprised by the twist and didn’t see that coming! This was action packed but also very informative of who she is and her friends. I cant wait for the next book! @lyndseyfairley

The Reader by M.K. Harkins 5 out of 5 stars The Reader is the first book in the Immortal series written by M.K. Harkins and I have read a few of this author books and she is amazing. The characters are well written and amazing I loved the way they interacted with each other. The way this author described the scenery was incredible and I could picture myself there. Ann Baker is an eighteen year old girl who is being hunted on top of this she was shot and has no memory when she wakes in shallow water on a deserted Pacific Northwest island. She is soon approached by two young men claiming to be her friends. Something isn’t right, but when gunshots sound, Ann is left with little choice but to allow Devon and Archer to help her escape. Soon she finds herself in their North Bend mountain compound, where the higher evolved humans claim to be mind-readers. While Ann heals, she realizes they believe her to be one of the last and most powerful of all – The Lost One. She’s welcomed by most with opened arms, but not everyone is happy about her arrival. A jealous adversary has plans for Ann, which spirals the entire Reader community into chaos. As lies, murder, and betrayal threaten to rip apart the once harmonious mountain dwellers, Ann is thrust into making a decision that could save or devastate not only The Readers, but all of mankind. The Only One (Brothers of Camelot, #1) by Necie Navone 5 out of 5 stars The Only One is book one in the Brothers of Camelot series written by Necie Navone and it’s the first book that I have read by this author and it surely won’t be the last. The characters are well written with strong personalities and the banter is awesome. I really enjoyed the story plot with the Camelot fairy tale but it’s modern. I especially loved Mom Gregory and the way she accepted Fitz and mad him a part of the family. Drake, aka Fitz, was dealt a tragic hand from the beginning. He had to adjust to Pain and rejection but that all melted away when a little girl named Isabella aka Belle with huge brown eyes, strawberry blonde curls and an explosive personality, walked into his new home and his heart. They were inseparable as kids, she’s was literally ripped from his arms when they where teens. Convincing himself he’s unworthy of her, he closed himself off to all future relationships, refusing to open his heart to anyone else. If only she would come back to him. Can a man whore whose motto is “One and Done” keep it in his pants long enough to win back the trust of his childhood sweetheart? Isabella, with her unique personality, returns to her childhood town to start her own business, and prove she doesn’t need her mother, or a man, to feel complete. Thanks to her first love, her father’s betrayal and a slew of bad relationships, she’s locked her heart away, hidden behind her smile and sweet disposition. Give and Take is a contemporary romance novel and the second instalment in The Thorne Brothers series. This story follows baby brother, Wyatt, and his involvement in the brother’s construction company. I love a series I can really sink my teeth into, and with a whole family of brother to get to know, this series has me super excited. Much like the first instalment (which I strongly recommend you read!), Give and Take is a beautifully romantic read that had me hooked from the very beginning. As we approach the end of the 2018, I can safely say that Wyatt and Rhia are in the running for one of my favourite couples of the year!
Wyatt Thorne is not your stereotypical romantic ‘hero’. He has very visible flaws, some of which most people would find incredibly annoying. He’s particular, meticulous and rigid to his routine. He’s obsessed with his work and quiet to the point of painfully so at times. So why did I feel such a draw to him? Wyatt had my attention almost immediately and I think I finally understand the appeal of the ‘strong and silent’ type. He is the perfect mix of driven, cute and a little frustrating and I just love him, perhaps even more than I loved his brother in Give it Up. But Wyatt isn’t the only love interest in this book. Rhia is his complete opposite and so perfect for him. She had me laughing out loud with some of her crazy antics, including her brief employment as a clown, and the relationship between her and Wyatt was so entertaining to read. I loved their back-and-forth banter and the sudden moments of passion and steaminess; they complimented each other beautifully. They are one of those couples that you just connect with and I have been left wanting to know more about them!
As with the first book, Give and Take explores some difficult issues. The Thorne brothers have been through a lot and their childhood is truly devastating. Seeing their shared past through Wyatt’s eyes was interesting, as he had been so young when everything happened to them. His brothers made it their job to protect him, and so we find Wyatt feeling a tremendous amount of guilt towards everything they have sacrificed for him. I love the strong family bond they have and it just has me more excited to find out more about each of the brothers.
Give and Take is a fantastic instalment in what is shaping up to be a fantastic series. The character development is exceptional and the plotlines are addictive. I have the next instalment on pre-order and am anxiously waiting its arrival. If you aren’t already convinced, I recommend you jump into this series immediately!

The Alterations Trilogy consists of all three books, Alterations, Game Changer and Primal Will. This is absolutely a must-read series! Jane Suen is such a phenomenally talented author whose stories always pull me in right from the start with all of the vivid detail. This is a fast-paced trilogy with non-stop action. I was able to read each book in one sitting as I was so captivated by the storyline that I couldn’t bring myself to put it down. This story is told in multiple POV’s in a really seamless way that easily captured my attention the whole way through. It’s intense, shocking, detailed, captivating and so entertaining!
This is a storyline like no other, a truly one of a kind read! I would absolutely recommend this series and author to anyone looking for their next read!
