Deadly Alliance is a crossover of Fortis and Purgatory. I haven’t read any of the Purgatory books but I’ve read a few Fortis books and loved them. They are action packed, with a tight knit team who all have awesome skills. This has the same vibe. There’s also always a love story, and this time it’s Emme and Shane. They are from opposite ends of the world but are together to bring down a bad guy. Of course posing as a married couple will bring two people together, and add in some serious attraction and you get fireworks! This book was fast paced, suspenseful, and sometimes shocking. I wonder where the author will lead us all next?

Getting the Goods by Elizabeth Perry is wonderful romantic comedy. I laughed a lot through this story as the banter, quips and antics were quite hilarious. Ms. Perry is a ‘new-to-me’ author who I will now be following quite closely, after reading this fantastic story! Gabriella Martin may only be 29 years old, but her biological clock has been ticking quite loudly. She would love nothing more than to become a mother. So, with her window of opportunity to fall pregnant closing up quite quickly, and also as she hasn’t got a man in her life and doesn’t have enough time to allow nature to take its course- she and her best friend hatch a desperate plan that they hope will result with a ‘bun-in-the-oven’. Their scheme involves picking up a sexy stranger, seducing them and then making off with the ‘goods’ before he’s any wiser. Well, you know what they say about the best laid plans… because things certainly don’t go according to plan for Gabriella’s heist. Sure, the stranger was entirely sexy, and the sex was off-the-charts HOT- but then fumbles when she gets ‘caught’ making off with the ‘goods’. Panic sets in and Sophie takes off, vowing to never try that ploy again- and thankful that she’ll never see his face again. But never say never, right? Because come Monday morning Sophie discovers that he’s now the new owner of the company she works for. #Mortified. How is she supposed to work with this man knowing him so intimately, plus the fact that he knows what she tried to do. But when he needs her help to get the company back on track, bargains are made that will change both their lives forever! This is such a witty, funny and romantic story- with just enough drama to keep things interesting. The story had more depth than I was expecting, with emotive scenes that were sweet and tender. But there are some serious sparks between them too- with makes for great reading! I hope this isn’t the last we hear/see of these characters, because I also want to know what happens with Carter, and with Maria- and PLEASE Ms. Perry, don’t leave Alexandria with Cal the AH! She needs her own HEA story, too!!!! I will definitely be looking out for Ms. Perry’s next book!

Five Stars Short, sweet and to the point. We get to catch up with one of our favorite couples from Darling Cove. Greg and Faith have been through so much together and are finally living their life together. I love when authors write novellas to catch you up on characters. It makes you feel good inside to know that they are still going strong even when things get shaky. I’m so glad nothing serious happened to Faith I couldn’t imagine Greg surviving without her. Embattled Hearts is the first book in the Lost and Found Series by J.M Madden. This is my first read by Ms. Madden and I am happy to say that after reading this story, it definitely won’t be my last. Ms. Madden writes an engaging, emotive and romantic wounded warrior/military romance that was not only believable- but inspiring and meaningful as well. There is much more to this great story than the beautiful romance. Thee is suspense, danger, action, camaraderie, brotherhood, drama, chemistry, and some hot, steamy scenes that will leave you hot under the collar. John Palmer was badly injured in Iraq, which ended his Military career and changed his life forever. John has become quite bitter and angry, and has spent the past 5 years trying to pick up the pieces of his life and move on. With his two friends from his military days, Chad and Duncan, they open Lost ‘N’ Found Investigation Services. When they hire a new office manager, John feels wants her so badly- but his disability has left him feeling like ‘less’ of a man and he really doesn’t feel like he has anything to offer her. Shannon Murphy has had a crush on her boss since meeting him six months earlier. He may be angry and grumpy, but she finds him entirely sexy. But when strange things start happening and danger seems to be stalking her, it’s John she looks to for help. What ensues makes for avid reading! I applaud the fact that while Ms. Madden depicts some sensitive issues, she does so in compassionate and respectful way, whilst also highlighting the hardships faced by wounded warriors and veterans. The obstacles that they face not only to recover from any injury, but also in having to carry the memories of their experiences with them, as well. It’s not just the physical scars/wounds, but mental and emotional ones too that are a little more difficult to deal with. Going from proud, able bodied Marine- to having a life changing injury such as John’s, takes a lot of adjustment- physically and mentally. The pride is still there, as is the sense of responsibility and expectation- and being looked at or treated differently is not easy to get over. This story brings a lot of these issues into focus, as Ms. Madden gives us a glimpse into the toll that has on a soldier and the sacrifices they make for their country- as well as a little of what they endure when things go awry while in service. The story was also quite romantic, and I loved the connection between Shannon and John. I love that she saw past John’s disability and found him to be virile and sexy despite it all. Ms. Madden crafts wonderful characters- giving them strengths, but also not shying away from giving them some vulnerability, depicting them in a very honest way. Ms. Madden’s story is so well written, realistic, believable, very emotive and entirely captivating.

Once Upon A Romance is the first in A Dream Come True Series by Alex Bailey. I love a Christmas romance, so when I saw this pop up on my recommended feed, I snapped it up. The thing I most love about this book, is the way the Ms. Bailey interweaves the love of all things Disney, with the magic of Christmas- whilst also showing a heartfelt and tender romance. This is your quintessential ‘feel-good’, and romantic Christmas story. One with all the wonder, charm and emotion I adore about Christmas stories. Ms. Bailey writes beautifully- creating wonderful quirky characters that I would love to call friends, and explore the theme parks with. She was also easily able to capture the magic of the season, and I loved the minute attention to detail that makes this story come alive. Sophie O’Connor loves her job working for a large publishing firm as a text book editor. She is dedicated, focused and organised. She is still coming to terms with the death of her beloved sister, 10 months earlier, and is devoted to her eight-year-old niece, Ariel. With Christmas fast approaching, she is determined to make it as special as she can for Ariel, as it is the first Christmas without her mother. But when she finds out what it is that Ariel wishes for, Sophie fears she won’t be strong enough to see it through. Ariel wants to spend Christmas day at Disney World, riding her mother’s favourite amusement ride. Sophie’s sister, Natalie, was a huge Disney fan and adored everything Disney- and so did their parents. Sophie, not so much, plus add the fact that Disney would hold so many memories of her sister, and Sophie wasn’t relishing the idea of spending time there. But this was Ariel’s special Christmas wish- so Sophie was determined to make it come true in every way. But what happens when a fairly straight-laced, non-Disney Aunt has to contend with a fun-loving, and imaginative little Disney-aficionado? Deadly Alliance was a great 5 star read. This was a great collaboration from these two authors, I was excited to read it.
Shane is on a mission to find the serial killer who is responsible for the death of his best friends sister. The killer seems to be targeting women who all have the same look to them. Emme happens to have the look that could possibly draw the killer out. She joins Shane’s team to portray his wife undercover.
It looked like a convention for the deadly and sexy. Jesus, not one person in the room was ugly, far from it they were all gorgeous. – Emme
These two have such a great chemistry between them, you can feel the heat coming off the pages. They are both very strong characters that I loved immensely. They just clicked in so many ways. Will they be able to find the killer before he strikes again? Will they keep things professional or give in to their attraction?
We get suspense, mystery, drama, danger and so much more. I was on the edge of my seat flying through the pages to see what was coming next. There are some great twists and secrets that added great elements to the story. The secondary characters added a great element to the story, it’s like one big family when they are together. If your looking for a great read, this is the one for you. I look forward to reading more from Maddie and India.
Courage (The Sisterhood Series) By Chelsi Arnold. I for one absolutely love this series. Once again the author tells a story that’s both different and very moving. I recommend reading these books in order for all the back story. The characters are complex and believable, and oh so easy to connect with. I love the time spent with these wonderful characters. The emotions written into the storyline are definitely meant to be felt soul deep. This sisterhood is one of the greatest group of women I’ve ever gotten to read. The storyline is well written and paced nicely. It had me turning the pages as fast as possible and completely hooked from page one. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it to everyone.

Courage is the second book in Chelsi Arnold’s Sisterhood series. It is a continuation of the first novel, Brave so I would recommend reading Brave first for the background and a solid foundation. For the second time I am thoroughly impressed by Chelsi Arnold’s strong writing, she has the ability to make the reader feel like they are right in the midst of the action and as though each character is one of their closest friends. I am equally as impressed with the strength of each of the women in this book. I have not read many military novels but I love how unique this series feels. So many books focus on the males in the military, it isn’t as often we see a well crafted story from the female perspective. I like that the series is set a bit in the future and is entirely realistic and thought provoking. If I were to describe Courage in one word it would truly be strong. Strong plot, strong writing, strong women, strong bond. I have loved the Sisterhood series thus far and look forward to more from Chelsi Arnold.

I truly can not say enough wonderful things about this series!! If you’re a sucker , ( like myself ) for a romantic love story with a happily ever after… this book ( and series ) is for you!! Being a single mother, I do have a soft spot for single parents! Especially single father’s … wow, I’m not sure what it is.. but it’s a weakness of mine!! I absolutely looooove a romance love story, with a few twists and turns. Trust me, once you start reading this book… you will NOT be able to put it down!! Sky and Edward meet in an unconventional way… but immediately sparks fly. Is their love worth fighting for? You gotta read this book to find out!! You won’t be disappointed at all!! My Free Life is a Brothers of Camelot prequel and the third book in the My Life series by Necie Navone. OMG!!! I keep saying this over and over, but I can’t help it- I love this series so much!!!!! This book (along with the rest of the series) is such a riveting read. There is so much going on between the covers that both thrilled and captivated me. I have a huge girl crush on Aless- she is the total package… girl power personified. Gorgeous. Smart. Strong. Loving. Kind. A warrior princess in every sense of the word. I have followed alongside as she grew from a sweet six-year-old girl, into the formidable woman she has become. I watched, captivated, through all her stages, ages, highs and lows- rooting for her the entire time! There were times I so badly wanted to wrap my arms around her and steal her away from all that she had to endure, times I wanted to step in and slap her stupid father silly. Other times I wanted to join in on all the fun and laughter. But not once did she not impress me. Not once has my loyalty and admiration wavered. She’s sassy, relatable (on an emotional level, not on the warrior princess level- I wish lol) and so endearing. I would be proud to call her my daughter, or my friend. Yes, I am emotionally invested in an imaginary character. But I don’t care. I want to believe she’s real, because she rocks!!! There is so much to this story- interconnected details, as well as huge revelations, twists/surprises. Things that made me sit up and take notice. Holding my breath, in anticipation of what would happen next. I think I may have held my breath for almost all of the final few chapters, on the edge of my seat, praying. And I loved every moment! There’s action, friendship, grief, loss, camaraderie, longing, suspense, emotion, playful teasing, funny banter, danger, battles, violence, human trafficking, Russian Mafia, Italian Mafia, complicated family dynamics, power struggles, secrets, lies, and a lot of drama. The series still really reminds me of “La Femme Nikita” and I still think it would make a brilliant television series or telemovie!! As I’ve said before, Ms. Navone is a wonderful wordsmith, weaving superb stories that plucked at my heart strings. I have become a Necie Navone addict. Hooked for life- and loving it! I am zinging with anticipation for the continuation of her, AND GREYSON’s story (finally!!!!….. SWOON!!!!) in “My One Love” Book #2 in the Brothers of Camelot Series!!!! OMG I cannot wait!!! Bravissimo!!!

Fighting for a country that’s fighting itself and the world, there are so many layers to this and it’s disturbing, action-packed, and a definite page turner. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book, but in tears for a good portion of it, too. It’s a really impactful story.

Hopes Decree is the first book in The Fated series by Angela McPherson. WOW, what a fantastic start to this new series. I was completely captivated by the story and stayed glued to the pages until I’d read every word. I can’t convey just how great this story is, I am finding it hard to do it the justice that it deserves. With fantasy, to the paranormal, this book swept me up on an adventure I won’t soon forget. This incredible story is woven around Greek Mythology, in particular, Pandora’s Box- so let’s face it, Ms. McPherson had me at the mere mention of Greek Mythology- I love everything about it!! This book definitely has a ‘Percy Jackson’ feel to it, with action, adventure, mystery, good vs evil, dark vs light, suspense, intrigue, danger, survival, other realms, romance, angst, drama, hope……. and so much more!! Trinity Whitebone thought she was a normal girl, attending her final year in high school. Sure, she didn’t exactly ‘fit in’, but she was doing well at school, had a few good friends, and loving parents. But when she begins to experience frightening nightmares and actually ‘feel’ other people’s emotions she began to wonder how ‘normal’ she actually was. Then a sexy new student enrols at her school and a whole new world is revealed to her. She discovers that she has a crucial part to play in saving humanity. That being related to Pandora makes her uniquely qualified for the task, and there is a lot riding on her success. The sexy new guy turns out to be a ‘Watcher’, her Guardian who’s tasked with training her and getting her ready for the battles ahead. But neither she or Blaine expected to have such a powerful connection- which adds to the drama of the story. With sinister plots against them, and large targets on their backs- what will become of them. Can they defeat the evil that is set on destroying humanity? Can they unravel it all before it’s too late? I love Ms. McPherson’s books, but this one is my favourite of them all, so far!! From the incredible world building, to the wonderful mythology that was woven through the story- this book really gave me an exciting reading experience that I didn’t want to end. The characters are really superb- so well developed and given ‘life’ by Ms. McPherson- and were crafted into fully realised individuals with their own personalities, quirks and flaws. Ms. McPherson is so imaginative and clever, adding lots of small intricate and inter-connected details that built the mystery, suspense and tension of the story brilliantly. I spent a lot of the time on the edge of my seat, wondering what was going to happen and trying to put all the pieces together. The twists and turns also added an exciting element to the story and had my mind reeling with possible scenarios! The story was a little slow to get going in the beginning, but after a few chapters the story really took off. So, don’t be put off at the beginning, stick with it while Ms. McPherson is setting the foundations of the story- this book is well worth your time!!!! The story is set to continue in the next book, and I can not wait to dive in!! Spellbinding!!!!

Wow this novel is absolutely fantastic and definitely worth reading both authors done an amazing job!! I was drawn in right from the get go with all the mystery, action and suspense it kept me gripping the edge of my seat and when i completed it certainly left me wanting more. It took me on an emotional rollercoaster one i didn’t want to get off i was just so captivated by the story it left me thirsty for more!

This book is a grown up version of the chicken noodle soup series. Too often do we just skip over the joy of the small things in life, but this author has written a collection of essays that takes part in those joys. This book was an invitation to sit back, read and relax. Many times I am rushing to get to the conclusion of the book, but this one, it was such an smooth, easy read that you felt wrapped inside the book and within the stories. You get a real understanding of this author, Her feelings, her emotions, wants and desires. She doesn’t impart her opinion on you, nor does she try to pass judgment. She just is, and she lets things be, and other times, with a bit of sage, she does some mass cleaning. I loved this book. This is not my normal genre, but I think I have found a new favorite.

Nathaniel (Dragon Hearts #1) by Carole Mortimer was a hot, fan worthy, hooking story about the alpha of alpha-est male dragon and his soon to be mate.
My first read from this author I didn’t know what I was getting into, as this author has written many, many books, and me being like, why is this the first time I’m hearing about this? Went in with fresh eyes and a open mind. And, first impressions, I like.. I like a lot.
I am a dragon lover, and ten to collect dragon books. Seeing this I couldn’t pass it up, and I was not disappointed in the least. This quik, hot steamy read doesn’t leave room for filler, or for any real world building or character development. But, that wasn’t a bad thing, because, the focus of the story was, more about the couple, and setting the stage for the series to come. We get some back story on the brothers, we get introduced to many characters that I’m assuming will be important in later books, and we get hot insta/lust-love.
I know insta love/lust. But, the writing is so good, and engaging, that, it didn’t bother me at all. I was sucked into this story, unable to put it down. I very much enjoyed reading about Nathaniel and Chloe. As mighty alpha as he is, Chloe give it back just as hard. (In more ways than one…) They have such a fun, entertaining dynamic that, it stole the show and made you forget that, there are some elements missing. And again, even though I picked up on that, I didn’t care as much, because their story is just so good. These characters carried the story and man, that type of talent is rare.
So please take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will get swept up in Nathaniel’s and Chloe’s crazy whirlwind love story.

Chloe is a journalist who is on vacation in Wales. When she comes across a castle that is not on any map or vacation guide, she is instantly intrigued. Even the villagers cannot tell her too much. So she decides to have a look for herself. What and who she finds there astounds her. But these men, while drop dead gorgeous, must be up to something illegal. Why else all the secrecy? But the big question is, what has she really gotten herself into?
Nathaniel is one of the men living in the castle. He tries to ignore the hot woman getting too close to their home, but the second time she shows up, he know he must stop her. But she is persistent. Not to mention that a part of him doesn’t want to say no to her. But this cannot be, he does not need a woman in his life. Or does he?
This paranormal romance at its finest. Well written, the story and the characters are great. The setting is of course outstanding, giving it a more gothic feel. Well, an updated gothic feel at least. The men are sexy and the romance is quite heated. But there is more going on. If you are a fan or paranormal romance or just like fantasy and something different, this book will appeal to you. I cannot wait to read more of the books in the series and learn more about the other men.
I highly recommend then wonderful paranormal romance to adults you enjoy a fun, sexy read with lots of hot men.

Jen Luerssen’s F*cking Frank (Smirk Series Book 1) is ripping roar of a romantic comedy. From the start, the author will have you laughing until your sides are about ready to split and still continue on. Frank is a no filter kind of guy, but can anything set him off kilter? Watching how Frank moves this this story was amusing, touching and also extremely entertaining. The story includes a full cast of characters that work well together even though some of their personalities are off the chart. Jen Luerssen makes this story work in all the right ways!

5 Star Embrace the Passion: Pets in Space 3 is a wonderfully written Anthology by eleven amazing authors.Each story is well written and guaranteed to some romance while others may tug at your heart strings a bit. Several of these authors I have read other books by where some are new to me author’s, that I definitely plan on reading more by them.If you love science fiction, steaming hot romance and pets then I highly recommend reading this anthology.

My Free Life: Prequel to The Brothers of Camelot, by Necie Navone, is the third book in the My Life Series. This coming of age thrilling suspense continues from My Hidden Life, the second book of the series. The author has taken this series/book into a side we don’t typically see, a strong woman carrying a role we often see/read that are held by men. Alessandra is an epic character and I enjoyed seeing her grow further in this book between the choices she continues to make and the paths she attempts to maneuver through. Necie Navone is a strong and creative author, her writing style continues to improve with her fascinating and intriguing tales that she weaves with unforgettable characters.

Degrees of Acceptance is the next instalment in Via Mari’s Prestian series where we continue to follow along Katarina’s journey of discovery – emotional, personal … sexual … Chase keeps being relentless and (over)protective and yes, we finally get to know Katarina’s father … You absolutely need to read the first book as this is not a standalone, Degrees of Acceptance picks up where Degrees of Innocence leaves off! The writer fulfils our expectations (that I had after finishing the first book) and we get plenty of action, suspense, humour, mystery and oh so steamy romance! I love how the writer uses the ‘degrees’ and yes, this story is very much about how much do we accept in our lives, to what degree are we able to accept when it comes to our friends, family and lovers … I cannot wait to see what ‘degree’ we are going to encounter in the third book!

A great read about changes. After the events of the previous novel, Elizabeth and her friends are desperate to rescue their friend Finn from the torturous ways of the E’mani. But when they meet a mysterious stranger called Selmay, they discover there may be more to the story. Searching for Finn, they find dangers in store and face new enemies closer to heart. Can they make it through it all and save their friend or will it be too late? A great read. Well developed plot. The sense of uneasy quiet after the war while having villains still at large was brilliantly done full of tensions and suspense to keep you reading. New characters like Selmay were well developed seeking revenge but kind underneath or Texxak as mysterious and ambitious or Roger given more of a story with his past. I also liked how this trilogy continues to stick to Elizabeths perspective in the narrative as we follow her journey and is easy to follow in the first person. I als0 loved the use of lab settings throughout the novel with the sense of claustrophobia and small spaces/ corridors for unease. In particular with the red lighting and dangerous walls in one lab later on which was excellently done. And then the contrast with open spaces and forests of outside which was a great combination. I also liked the sense of fantasy of winged creatures but the realism of science and computer hacking. And in this the feel of finding a family in the Remains and working together to stop horrible things from happening The only issue I would raise is that there was repetition at tunes at the beginning with long sentences which were hard to read. It also seemed slow paced and this could be resolved with a few more action scenes or conflicts to help keep the reader engaged. Overall, a great read and I would give it four stars.

Courage (The Sisterhood Series #2) by Chelsi Arnold was a action packed, feels kicking read that, not only had me hooked it may have, made me shears some tears…. may have.
This second instalment picks up where the last book left off, jumping right back into that heart squeezing moment. It sets the stage, that this book is going to be more of a gut puncher then the first. I have to warn you this is a continuation series, so the first book is a must, before jumping into this one. Plus that book sets the groundwork for this one, you will not get the same impact or the same connection, if you skip that first amazing instalment.
This book is multi layered, complex and hits you right in the heart and home. The things that are being described, the way things fall apart it a little bit, scary, only because you can draw some comparison to things that are currently happening in the world today. Again like the last book the writing is smooth and easy to follow. There is a dark, desperate tone that hovers throughout the pages. It puts you on edge, and really drives home all that is happening.
This book, this series is a must read and I can’t wait for the next installment. Greer and her sisters are put to the test, and the lengths that they will go through, is nothing less then courageous. But at what cost? The only way to know is to take my super high recommendation and my stamp of approval, that you will power through this book in order to find out how far these women will go.

Chelsi Arnold has taken this series to a higher level. In my opinion. Female Navy Seals is something I had not read in a book. I had always read about our boys in uniform. This is definitely a nice change. Women having strength, courage and bravery. Working beside the men, as equals. I love this series!!! Her story is believable and her characters are amazing. I will not give you any spoilers! As I have grand respect for this author and her sisters. It is just a story you will have to read, as I have. All the feels are there, laughter, crying and anger are just a few I had experienced. Well worth the read for sure. I am so ready for the next one in this series. Job well done Chelsi Arnold!

Elegantly Denim: An Elegant Prelude by Tee Smith is the prequel to her new Elegant Series and what a great start to this series. This is a shorter story, novella length, which made this a quickie read for a rainy day. Following the story of Denim Gargliano, you get a taste of the man behind the family. He is definitely an enigma, but the more that you get to read into his story the more that his façade is all for the reputation and not a true depiction of the man himself. While this was just a taste of a story I can’t wait to read more of Denim. Smith is a new to me author, but I am glad that I picked this story up. I can’t wait to see where this series goes in the future as this story really wet my appetite for more of her writing style.

This the back story of Denim. Of how he became who he is today. The family and things in his life that made him. He is powerful, in a business all about money and power. But above all, he has a heart. He has to trust it and his instincts.
This is the first book I have read in this series, so I had nothing to base this book off of. It seemed like there was a lot going on in this short story, but I assume it will make more sense after I read more of the series. Do not get me wrong though, this seemed like a great way to introduce us to Denim and see how he became who he is. He is not untouchable, and this book reflects this perfectly. It is well written and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Denim seemed like an interesting character and I cannot wait to see more of him in the next book. There is plenty going on in this book, you will not be able to put it down and be disappointed when you come to the the end too quickly.

Across from You by Amabel Daniels is a standalone romantic comedy that I fell in love with from the first page. Following Lexi Regan and Jack O’Connor, you will find yourself smiling and feeling your heart strings being tugged. Lexi is a woman that has been publicly shamed, more than once, and is attempting to hid from the world while she licks her wounds. While she has sworn off men, there is something about Jack that keeps her coming back for him. Jack is at the point in his life where he is looking for love, and willing to do whatever it takes to make Lexi see how good they are together. From the first moment that he met her, he knew that she was the one for him. The banter back and forth between Jack and Lexi really was quite refreshing, making me laugh out loud more than once. The chemistry and shenanigans that these two found themselves in made this story such a treat to read. After everything that happened to Lexi in her past it is going to take Jack everything that he has to get Lexi to trust in his feelings for her. Will he succeed? Will Lexi be willing to trust another man with her heart when she was hurt so badly in the past? Daniels is a newer to me author, having only read one other book of hers in the past, but I am so glad that I picked this one up. If you are looking for a great romance novel that will take your breath away and keep you roped in from beginning to end than this is one that you need to add to your TBR now! I can’t wait to see what is next for Daniels’ readers, cause I am sure it will be great!

Well this was my first read by this author and while a lot was going on in this quick read that made me feel a little lost, by the end I need to read the series now. Denim is the oldest son in his family and owns businesses but still feels he’s missing something from his life. We see snippets of things happening that show he is a good person and doesn’t like the alterations he finds himself in as the boss. Quick read, full of information.

Embattled Hearts (Lost and Found #1) By J.M. Madden Rated 5 stars
This is a romantic suspense story. I loved all these guys! Who doesn’t have a soft spot for military men??? These are men who have been damaged physically as well as mentally. They are now just trying to get by and survive day by day. So opening Lost N Found Investigative has helped them all.
John was an amazing character even though he was grumpy and hates people. I loved being inside his head and seeing all the angst and turmoil boiling through his veins. I could easily understand his feelings. His childhood to his adulthood…he is one who slipped through and came out blazing on the other side.
Shannon is a wonder herself. She has a soft heart and loves to cook for those men. She is a woman with a past. It’s been under wraps but now it’s coming back to haunt her. She was so so good for John. Shannon is very confident and that is what John needs.
There were side stories which include one with Duncan and one with Chad, Zeke and a few others. They were all interesting but I think Chad, Zeke and crew were great and What a fun way to get to know them. I am seeing possible future stories here.
This is a first time author for me. The story flowed nicely and the characters were strong. I am loving this crew so I can’t wait to read the next one….preview in the back so I got a Sneak Peak!!!!

Can’t Forget is the second installment in Colleen S. Myers’ Solum Series, that takes off right where the first one ends. Elizabeth (Beta) Camden is struggling to understand her memories of the time she was with the E’mani. She’d thought that she had repressed them and lost them for good, until they begin creeoing their way back into her head. Unable to understand then and what the E’mani did to her while she was captive, sends her on the path of revenge to take down the E’mani’s stronghold in the dead of night. If Beta can’t forget her past, she won’t have a future. It took me awhile to get into this series and enjoy the books, as all the new information is thrown rapidly at the reader, and it takes a minute to orientate yourself. Which can sometimes be an effective writing device, but other times it can feel a bit rushed and things get lost in translation. I found this to be the case for the start, and had to go back and forth to make sure I understood everything clearly and correctly. After I settled in and got the hang of everything I really started to enjoy the series and this book in particular. Marin and Beta’s chemistry together was fantastic and will leave you feeling flushed and giddy. Their tension was very well written and almost had me wanting more. I also enjoyed the creativity that went into writing this series and combination of magic and technology. I thought it was done very well, as it’s not a combination that you see often, or that works well together. But the author definitely proved that wrong. Overall I gave Can’t Forget 3/5 stars.
