This Christmas Season I was able to find time to read the Christmas Kiss Series by Allyson R. Abbott. This series is a perfect read to get you into the season. Allyson Abbott writes the kindest stories that is a nice light reading story. I felt as though I was in the story with Kat and Ken. Kat was facing a Christmas alone, or that is what she thought. Kat found herself a new coffee shoppe and maybe the most handsome owner, Ken. She had an immediate attraction to him. She did not know if he shared this attraction with her. Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 4) By: Gwyn McNamee 5 out of 5 stars
The story Building Storm: (A Hawke Family Novel) (The Hawke Family Book 4) by Gwyn McNamee is a contemporary romance book. I was thrilled when I found out about the release of the next story in this series. I have loved reading the series since the first book. This story is just one more wonderful addition. I was hooked from the very beginning and as soon as I started, I found myself glued to the pages. I truly enjoyed the dialogue and interactions between the characters and I love that characters from the previous books are brought forward into this one. I loved reading about the characters of Storm Hawke and Landon McCabe. Storm is feisty, strong-willed, and stubborn. She is also a woman who is just existing. Landon is a man that has come to New Orleans to start over. He is charming, intelligent, and kind. Reading about Storm and Landon had my emotions going up and down the entire time. They are two characters that I grew to care about with each chapter that I read. This story has moments that are sad and also ones that warmed my heart. There are times when I was turning pages to find out what happened next. This is a series that should be read in order to fully understand the plots and characters. Don’t miss out on reading Storm and Landon’s story.

Claiming Her Mates (Claiming Her Mates #1) by Dia Cole 5 out of 5 stars Claiming Her Mates is the first book in Claiming Her Mates series written by Dia Cole and the first book that I have read by this author and it won’t be the last. This author had me sitting by the seat of my pants with this great paranormal story. The characters are amazing and well written and the way she wrote the scenery was great. Havana has everyone bailing on her holiday party, she didn’t think the night could get any worse. Then three scorching hot men storm the club and demand she goes with them. Thinking they’re cops, then she finds out they are not cops, then she discovers the flu vaccine is turning people into zombies. Now her survival depends on Mason, Gabriel, and Liam, three Lyko’s shifters, who swore to protector her. She should be terrified of their glowing eyes and the way they destroy any threat in their path, but all she can think about is claiming the fierce men as my own. All three of them… Now she has one problem: Her ex has threatened to eviscerate any man who touches her. Too bad the deadly Alpha male isn’t here. He’ll rue the day he broke my heart and ordered his three gorgeous friends to rescue her.
I highly recommend this story and can’t wait for the next story in this series…..

Karina Cardinal has a knack for getting herself caught up in some serious situations! The second installment of Karina Cardinal finds our heroine is now a lobbyist in Washington, trying to take things to the next level with her FBI boyfriend, and getting caught up in a hot mess! Karina is smart, funny and not afraid to get to the bottom of things. I am enjoying this series so much. If you like a good suspense and like to try and figure out who did it, then you definitely need this series. The book is well written and the characters are great! I hope there are more!

I loved this book as well as the whole entire series. I love how this author pulls me into the story with ease and make me feel as if I am part of the story. This is Storm and Landon’s story. They both are in need of healing and betrayal is something they have in common. Will he turn her world upside down? Is there something out there threatening to change Storm’s new life? They took me on an emotional journey of love, life, lies and family, a love story. A must read!

This is still a pretty new author for me. Her stories are engaging, creative and her characters make me laugh. In this story, Soumya and Vir Seth manage to get themselves into a pretend engagement. Will this turn into something more than either one where expecting? These are two great characters that I enjoyed reading about. Despite what they may think, their chemistry is off the charts. Their interactions kept the story flowing to the end. I highly recommend reading this book.

A Prickly Christmas Kiss, Christmas Kiss: Book One by Allyson R. Abbott. I have read other books by this amazing author and loved them! When I saw this book, i knew that I wanted to read it, especially during this holiday season. What a way to get into the spirit.A cute 4 star read for Mistletoe Kisses and Christmas Wishes by Allyson Abbott. Emma or Elf as she is fondly known has just broken up with her boyfriend and has decided to go and spend the holidays with her friend at her family cabin. When she first arrives in North Polerton, yes that is the name of the town, the questionable incidents begin. She stops at the general store to stock up on food and supplies and there she meets the store owners, Mr. and Mrs. C. Conveniently, their credit card machine is down and she has to start a tab. On the way out she runs into Rudi, who just happens to have a little cold and a red nose. The little coincidences keep adding up and will keep you entertained throughout the entire book. When she realizes that her friend Carla is not going to be joining her, she thinks about just going home but then realizes that she could use this time alone. Thank goodness Rudi stops by the cabin the make sure she is ok. After spending time together and getting to know each other, a romance begins. Unbeknownst to them, that Carla orchestrated the entire thing.

Claiming Her Mates is the first book in this series. It is a cliffhanger and is left open for more of the story to develop. This is a short book and it only took me a few hours to finish it. The plot moves fairly quickly so if you like a slow burn, this probably isn’t the series for you.
I like the unconventional aspects of the Lykos origin. It leaves room for flexible mythology and story development rather than having to follow traditional Lycan myth. I also love that this is a book that has multiple partner relationships. That always spices things up. It adds dimension that the author chose varying stations of the male partners as well, so it isn’t your typical alpha male fest.
I found that Claiming Her Mates is a superb distraction when you are under a tattoo needle for three hours and need something to focus on. ?

Building Storm by Gwen McNamee is book 4 in the Hawke Family Series. This is Storms story, hopefully by this point you’ve already read Savage, Skye and Stones stories. Storms is no different it’s full of a story that makes you want to finish is right away, some drama, action and some major stress relief going on. The rest of the Hawke siblings and their spouses are present in the story as needed along with some new and old characters. Gwen McNamee had a unique writing style and I’ve come to love all her stories because they are always different, while the stories may feed off of the previous one in small aspects they are always their own story.

Surviving Eden by Virginia Wine is the first book in her new contemporary romance series, Surviving Series. Following the story of Dr. Theodore Grant and Eden, I couldn’t get enough of either of these characters. Dr. Grant, Theo, is a psychiatrist, but more than that he is a man who has never had feelings toward anyone. He just simply exists with no emotional attachments to anyone or thing. That is until he meets Eden. There is something about her that pulls him in from the very beginning. The way that Eden makes him feel is something that he wasn’t prepared for but she brings out the protector in him that he can’t seem to control. Eden is a woman in her own category. She is beautiful, strong willed and intelligent, and yet there is something about Theo that she can’t deny pulls her towards him. The attraction between these two is palpable from the very beginning, and the passion that comes from them is enough to light my e-reader on fire. But the emotions that Eden brings out in Theo are things he isn’t used to, and it makes him uncertain of his path with her. Is there a future for the two of them, together? The mystery, suspense and romance all tied into this story really kept me on the edge of my seat from beginning to end on this one. I can’t wait to see what the rest of the series has in store for me. Wine is a new to me author, and I am so happy that I picked this series up. If you are looking for a great new author with a storyline that will hook you from the beginning and never let go than this is the one for you. I can’t wait to see where this series goes in the future cause it’ll be a heck of ride to read!

Beats of the Heart is the first book in the Lyrical Odyssey Rock Star Series by Charli B. Rose. This is this author’s debut album and I can’t wait to see what she has in store for us with the next book. This childhood friends to lovers book grabbed hold of me from the very start and I just couldn’t put it down. I love the strength and interaction from Dawson and Izzy. The love and heartache bleed of the pages and make you want to come back for more. This is a really fantastic book, especially since it is a debut. It does leave us with a cliffhanger but that just makes the anticipation of reading the next book in the series all the more appealing. I would highly recommend this book and author.

Leaving Jackson Wolf is a pretty serious story about a high school boy going through some pretty life-changing moments. Some were bigger than others, but that time in high school, the people you are surrounded with, the way you view yourself and the world? There’s just so much going on, and it affects who you become as an adult. This was also pretty political, a modern day snapshot of how things are for our youth and how the adult decisions affect them. I found this enjoyable, emotional, and interesting.

The epic finale to Claire Luana’s highly anticipated Confectioner Chronicles has arrived and it did not disappoint. The Confectioner’s Truth is the final book in Claire Luana’s amazing new series that I highly recommend it to every man, woman, and child. It is so good and the finale wraps everything up deliciously. I absolutely adored this series and there isn’t much I can say about this final book without spoiling it for anyone. But seriously read this series, starting from the Confectioner’s Guild, you will not be disappointed by a tale this yummy. I cherished all of Claire’s characters, as they are incredibly well developed and rounded. They all read as real people, with their own back stories and motivations. Claire’s world building is also incredibly well done. Her magic system is flawless and perfectly executed, as she expands the world over the three novels. But I feel like one of the most underappreciated gems of the series was Claire’s ability to describe food and drink throughout the series. My mouth watered the entire series, due to her descriptions being so impeccable. I wish I could give this book a 6/5 star review, but alas it will have to settle for 5/5. Thank you Claire for another amazing series!

A Frothy Christmas Kiss By Allyson R. Abbott Rated 4 stars
This is a not your normal start. Usually the female owns the coffee shop…this time it’s male lead. Dan owns a coffee shop. Kat is a coffee fanatic. Match made in heaven right? Not so fast. There is major miscommunication and some jealousy along with some flirtation. This all leads to an entertaining story.
The story seems to drag a bit in some areas (too much thinking) in others it seemed to be over to soon. I am not a huge fan of internalizing their thoughts. I prefer more dialogue…it seems more lively. I was intrigued by this guy being a coffee mixer. What an interesting job! This is a nice sweet short story.

The Confectioner’s Coup by Claire Luana is book 2 in the Confectioners Chronicles. Much like the other books I have read by this author, this book is well written and thoroughly enjoyable. I really like the character development and the story line in this book. This book has just enough suspense to keep you on your toes and interested, and who doesn’t love magical food. I’m very interested to see what happens next with the characters in this book. This author is new to me, but I will definitely continue to read this series and anything else she writes. I give this book a solid 4 star rating.
If you like romance, this box set is a must own! This collection of five books from Bree Kraemer is a gem. These stories in and of themselves operate nicely as stand-alone stories. However there are characters that overlap and therefore the universe is expanded nicely when the stories are read as presented in the collection. All fans of love -RUN and pick up a copy today!!!!

What a fantastic quick and easy read! Now, sometimes people equate “quick and easy read” to mean simple, adolescent, and sometimes even childish. That is most certainly not the case here. This book was thrilling, suspenseful, fast paced, and very well developed. The author has an innate ability to weave story and character fluidly, doing so in such an effective manner she apparently doesn’t require as many pages as others to complete her craft. Just a very good book and one I will highly recommend to others.

The Only Series, 5 book boxed set By: Bree Kraemer 5 out of 5 stars
I loved reading the box set of The Only Series by Bree Kraemer. These are five contemporary romance stories that hooked me in and once I started a story, I found myself lost in the pages. One of the reasons I loved them so much is the characters. They are well-developed, and I grew to care about each one of them. I wanted them all to find love and happiness. I enjoyed that the characters are brought forward into the next book. There is plenty of romance and steamy scenes going on in this series that will make the temperature in the room rise. There is playful/flirty bantering as well as dirty talking. The stories had my emotions going up and down with the characters. There are heartwarming moments and times when I had a smile on my face or was laughing out loud. There are times when insecurities arise and also when passions ignite. There is never a dull moment. These are a set of stories that are a joy to read. This is a set of books I would highly recommend.

What will happen when they take on the hardest case they have come across yet? Eagle and Winter are great characters. She is the only one he wants to spend his life with and she thinks he is out of her reach but will fate have a different opinion? I highly recommend this book, find out what happens with them.

Leaving Jackson Wolf by P.A Kane is a Young Adult coming of age story that is thought provoking and at times it was both heart wrenching and heartwarming with social issues and strong bonds of friendships. It is about a young man trying to come to terms with his ethnicity and where he fits both at home and in the world. It is a powerful and emotional read and one that you won’t be able to stop until it ends. P.A. has done a good job at writing a story that will leave you a little raw as you take the journey in to a world that shows the best and the worst of human nature. I look forward to reading more from Mr. Kane.

Degrees of Power is book four in the Prestian Series by Via Mari. Katarina just captivates me. As a character, she is a courageous and fearless woman, paving her path in a man’s world. Chase and Katarina must face many obstacles, be prepared to do what it takes to get the best result and reconfirm the love they have for one another. The level of affection runs so deep between them, it has its own palpable heartbeat. A profound reaction whenever they were in each others vicinity.
Everything about this story was remarkable. It was evocative, suspenseful and unique. Nothing was omitted from the Prestian Series, with a reader getting the full impact of this powerful collection. A highly energetic and dangerously addictive series. This one is a must read. 5 stars

She hasn’t been living. He’s looking for a way to forget it all.
My life went up in flames. All I’m left with is my daughter and ashes. The simple act of breathing is so excruciating, there are days I wish I could stop altogether. So I have no business being at the party, and I definitely shouldn’t be in the arms of the handsome stranger. When his lips meet mine, he breathes life into me for the first time since the day the inferno disintegrated my world. But loving again isn’t in the cards, and there are even greater dangers to face than trying to keep Landon McCabe out of my heart.
Running is my only option. I have to get away from Chicago and the betrayal that shattered my world. I need a new life-one without attachments. The vibrancy of New Orleans convinces me it’s possible to start over. Yet in all the excitement of a new city, it’s Storm Hawke’s dark, sad beauty that draws me in. She isn’t looking for love, and we both need a hot, sweaty release without feelings getting involved. But even the best laid plans fail, and life can leave you burned.
Love can build, and love can destroy. But in the end, love is what raises you from the ashes.
Gwyn McNamee is an attorney, writer, wife, and mother (to one human baby and two fur babies). Originally from the Midwest, Gwyn relocated to her husband’s home town of Las Vegas in 2015 and is enjoying her respite from the cold and snow. Gwyn has been writing down her crazy stories and ideas for years and finally decided to share them with the world. She loves to write stories with a bit of suspense and action mingled with romance and heat. When she isn’t either writing or voraciously devouring any books she can get her hands on, Gwyn is busy adding to her tattoo collection, golfing, and stirring up trouble with her perfect mix of sweetness and sarcasm (usually while wearing heels).

In the small town of Golden Trail, PA, the Fallen Eagles MC isn’t just any group of veterans. They’re patrons of the community, the protectors of veterans and townsfolk alike, and a motley group of world military-trained men and women. And their small town and the Philadelphia area aren’t afraid to call on the varied skills of this rough and ready crew to help out on a case or two.
Summer brought us blackmail. Winter will bring us murder.
With a Philly-based serial murderer on the loose, and the most recent victim a member of their small town, the Fallen Eagles MC will deal with one of the hardest cases they’ve ever encountered.
Davis “Eagle” Landon has given a lot for his country—an eye, a leg, time with his kids. He’s retired now and as the owner of several small businesses and the founder and President of the Fallen Eagles MC, this former Texan has his roots firmly planted. He’s ready to settle down again, and only one woman will do.
Winter is different. A bit of a loner. Quiet. Sarcastic. She’s also the owner of the one and only full-service salon in Golden Trail and has an amazingly supportive family and a close-knit group of friends who love her for the odd woman she’s molded herself into. She still feels like there’s something missing, though. As the youngest Markham, she’s seen the many struggles her older sisters have endured, and as much as the prospect scares her, she wants a love that is all her own. The problem? Nosy sisters, a murderer killing women who fit her description, and the guy she loves is a good twelve years older and way out of her league.
Eagle and Winter have a tough road ahead, but what these two are about to realize is that not even death can separate two souls who are written in the stars.
*Full-length novel
Trigger Warning: This book contains scenes of violence/sexual violence that may be difficult for some readers.
T. Birmingham believes words are our greatest form of magic. And making magic is what she loves best. But when it’s time to put the words aside, T. enjoys drinking whiskey with her tribe, eating pretzels with Nutella, watching and reading as many stories as she can, especially romances, and traveling wherever the wind takes her–sometimes all at once. She also loves a sturdy (but cute) pair of cowgirl boots, is hoping to one day build a log cabin with her Man Bear, and she writes mystery and suspense in the Paranormal, Contemporary, and MC Romance genres.

The Confectioner’s Coup is the second novel in the Confectioner Chronicles by Claire Luana. This is my fourth novel by this author.
After surviving the ordeals from the first book, Wren is now trying to prove the King is to blame for sudden disappearances of some of the guild members including a new recruit.
This new investigation takes her another journey with friends and foes. Will she be able to stop a rebellion?
I really enjoyed this novel and was so excited to read this novel.
Wren is such a strong, relatable female character who has gone through so much since entering the Guild but still pushes through anything thrown at her.
The POVs do change which was surprising but I enjoyed reading from the other voice once I got use their pace and tone.
What a beautiful heart wrenching emotional roller coaster! The author does a beautiful job realistically portraying love and heart break. I was hooked on the very first page. A wonderful book that I will be recommending to others. I cannot wait to see what the author writes next – so good!

Claiming Her Mates book one written by Dia Cole. This is a genre I enjoy reading. It’s always a nice break from reality to read this type of story. Claiming Her Mates has a few unique twists to it though, so it’s definitely not your average shifter story. Vana (Havana) is working as a stripper just trying to get by since she no longer works for Nathan (who’s also her ex). With a virus being spread around she doesn’t have many options when three gorgeous men show up and say they need her to go with them, that Nathan sent them. This story gets your attention from the beginning and hold it with vanas mouthy comments and the need the men have when it comes to her. Only things aren’t always what they seem…especially when there’s one female and three males stuck at the sanctuary during a snow storm….what could possibly go wrong, I mean how hard would it be to stay away from her….turns out, impossibly hard.
