5 Star
Hope’s Deceit ( The Fated Book 2) by Angela McPherson is the second book in her The Fated Series and let me just say if you haven’t read the first book go do it now as this one picks up where the first one left off. I was impatiently waiting for this book and once I got it I had a hard time putting it down. So this picks up where we left off with Trinity and Blain. Trinity finds herself having a hard time coming to terms with her destiny especially when life keeps throwing stuff her way. Can she get the ending she wants? Will it be a HEA ending? These two definitely have their HOT moments holy cow! Can Trinity do the task she’s been fated with? I am only going to say this once I seriously think everyone should read this series it’s amazing. Every one gets better and better, I can’t wait to read the next book in this series.

Forgetting Ophelia by Julie C Gardner – Review by Shannon Fowler

Forgetting Ophelia: A Novel (Friendship & Secrets, #2)Forgetting Ophelia: A Novel by Julie C. Gardner
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Julie C Gardner is a new to me author and Forgetting Ophelia is a book I wish I could read for the first time all over again. I am so sorry that Lia is blindsided by her husband, I hurt with her as I read her devastation. I loved “watching” her grow and develop into the strong character Gardner meant for her to be.

This story was easy to read and while it is the second in the series each book can be read as a standalone. I am looking forward to reading more from Gardner and hopefully more about Lia.

A Frothy Christmas Kiss by Allyson Abbott – Review by Krystal Gaston

A Frothy Christmas KissA Frothy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Allyson Abbott has written another great addition to the Christmas Kiss Series with A Frothy Christmas Kiss. These stories can all be read as a stand alone and they are all unique in their own way. This is Kat’s story and she meets Dan in a hilarious and embarrassing way that sets a great pace for the whole story. I have to admit Brian was my favorite part of this story, I loved him. Then there’s Spencer and Kat’s dad and well a lot of other characters who make this story as good and funny as it is.

A Frothy Christmas Kiss is another great book in the Christmas Kiss Series. The story is a heartwarming story in more ways than one. This is the story about Kat and Dan. Kat is new to the city, so she is looking for her favorite thing, coffee. She finds a great place. But even better, the owner is hot and sexy. Hmmm, what will she do about it?

Another great Christmas story by Allyson Abbott. It is a sweet story filled with descriptive details. And a perfect story for the Christmas holiday. A Frothy Christmas Kiss will put a smile on your face and make you feel happy. I definitely recommend this story and the series as well.

Reckless-An Anthology
By Mika Jolie, Kylie Stewart, P.M. Carson, Sharla Lovelace
Rated 5 stars

This is a steam…steam….steamy group of stories. These are four stories In this book. There are three new to me authors and one whose stories I deeply enjoy. The first two are May-December romances. The third one is a dating site romance and lastly is a little action as a spy story.

All of these stories were well written and all the characters were interesting. One thing I enjoyed in all these books was how the theme of Reckless ran through them. Whether it was a person or an action, it was woven in well. Each book had some type of drama and a few made me chuckle. I am not a usual fan of May-December romances. But these were nicely done and covered a few of the issues I have with them. Although being rich might help sway some of those problems or maybe not. Dirty Martinis by P.M. Carson had me tearing up a bit. I enjoyed these characters because I really felt they took a chance and put themselves out there. The Spy who Kissed Me by Sharla Lovelace had some action and suspense which I love in a book. Plus some lovely military peeps. My favorite is Layla’s Chance by Mika Jolie. It was nice going back to visit the characters in her Martha’s Vineyard series. Last but certainly not least is Into the Deep by Kylie Stewart. This is a deliciously enjoyable and fast paced story.

This book covers quite a few different themes with one main one running through all the stories. These stories have fierce, independent females and strong, alpha males. They were all enjoyable and I would recommend to any reader who likes some spice with their story.

A Frothy Christmas Kiss is another addition to the Christmas Kiss series by author Allyson R. Abbott. Each of these reads transports you into a wonderful world of Christmas, romance and love. This read is short, sweet, engaging and you will never be disappointed.

This book is a genuine feel good, warming read with two amazing characters called Kat & Dan, these are two real, relatable characters that I loved instantly. They have a connection almost immediately and a flirty relationship that leaves you wanting and reading more! To make these two even better they find a common quality in each other they both share – COFFEE.

This is such a feel-good, heartwarming read that you will not want to miss!

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6) by Mary Billiter – Review by Angela Shirley

The Changeup (Resort Romance #6)The Changeup by Mary Billiter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The Changeup by Mary Billiter is the sixth book in the Resort Romance series, I have to say this is one of my favourite series. This story follows Rebel Roberts who has a rough past but with the help of some people she has turned her life around but something happens that changes her life forever.

Rebel is in hiding after being in witness protection and is enjoying a great life in Long Beach, she is working at the Long Resort as a Conference Services Manager and is supposed to keep a low profile so when she discovers a dead body it could not be worse for her.

Ryan McHenry was the local college sport star, who is the process of training to become the Deputy Sheriff but while he is in training he is a deliveryman part time. So when he stumbles across Rebel and a dead body he can’t resist to help her get to the bottom of the reason of why he was murdered.

This story is full of twists and turns with a dash of intrigue and chemistry that will have you turning the pages to find the conclusion to the story. This is a great stand alone book but I do recommend the whole series as there are great characters and stories which will have you re-reading them time and again. I can not wait for the next exciting installment in this great series.

A Frothy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott – Review by Maura Harper

A Frothy Christmas KissA Frothy Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

The fourth book in the Christmas Kiss series, this stand-alone (short) story has all of the elements I have come to love in this author’s stories. There is a meet-cute, some flirty banter, an ex, a misunderstanding, and a satisfying ending.

As with all of the books in this series, it is a clean romance which is a breath of fresh air. The characters are developed and story is well plotted.

Please read this story because I want to talk about the cat. I think Brian aka DC aka Bagpuss should get his own stand-alone about his life and adventures. He sure is the “cat’s meow”.

I absolutely recommend this story, this series and this author to all.

The Killmores (Killmore #2)The Killmores by Martha Sweeney
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I have been patiently waiting (well attempting to be patient about it) for this book for ages! I absolutely LOVED book 1 in the series and as it had been a while I had to go back and quickly refresh my memory – but that also meant I got to re-read one of the most amazing books I have read and so I was ready to get stuck into book 2! AND what a book 2 it was! I was gripped from the beginning. It was exciting, it had me on the edge of my seat and my heart racing more times than I can mention. It was in all honesty everything I expected and wanted it to be and more. It is absolutely one of my top reads of 2018 (and this is around book 560 this year!!) Laurie is by far the best badass female lead that I have ever read about – she is so amazing! I love her and Aiden together! This book was a huge turning point for Laurie’s character and I loved it! Everything about this book was brilliant, the plot, the characters (both main and supporting) and the authors writing was just outstanding! I cannot recommend this book enough – book 1 needs to be read prior to this one but that is as equally as amazing so readers will not be disappointed at all!

I was so excited to read this book! This was an emotional story for me to hear everything she has been through in life and she is still doing things her way. This is an easy story to read because it is written in a down to earth attitude that is so like Tina Turner. She took me on a journey through her life, the ups and downs and her family memories. If you are a fan of Tina Turner I highly recommend reading this book!

The author has this way of grabbing my attention from the very first page and I am always swept into the lives of the amazing characters she creates. I really liked Billie, I loved how important family is to her and that is something I can relate to. I was really hoping that Billie and Leroy would eventually get their happily ever after – I really liked them both together!
A lovely Christmas read that I absolutely recommend! This book is part of a series and I would also recommend those too however this can be read as a standalone!

This is a very quick and sweet Christmas story. I’m not sure what it is about Christmas’ books I love so much, especially during this time of year…but I can’t get enough !!
Mel got talked into going to Spain to help her aunt who is having surgery. Once the trip is planned… from day one, things don’t go according to plan. After many days of traveling, she finally arrives. But it’s not how she remembers, a lot has changed. And now she has to take care of her aunt as well. Will she be able to to it ?
I enjoyed Mel’s character, she is a lot stronger and more capable than she knows. I know it’s hard going to a unknown place with complete strangers. But she makes the best of the situation. It’s such a fun read, I can’t wait to see what’s next in the third book!!

I love this series! Each book focuses on a different member of the MC so you don’t need to read the first three books. I highly suggest that you do though because they are fantastic. This one focuses on Lucas Smith and his lady love, Quinn Dawson. Years ago a devastating occurrence happened that cut Lucas’s childhood short. Since then he’s been taking care of his brother Clay. The last few years though, Lucas has been chasing his drug addled brother, not what he expected out of life. A chance encounter with Quinn has made him realize that he wants more.

Quinn has her own demons to overcome but Lucas gives her hope. She is starting to trust men again and can actually see a future for herself and her daughter. Unfortunately the skeletons of the past don’t always stay buried. Is this something that they can survive or will it tear them apart?

I love the characters in this series, each one is special. I have fallen in love with each couple. They are not perfect, each one has flaws and problems. It’s what makes them relatable. I was happy to see appearances of older characters, Logan and Ali crack me up. Another winning novel by Ms. Myers. I hope to see another in the series, maybe about Fuzz?

This collection covers a wide variety of romance and hunks that should lend themselves to most romance readers. I found the collection as a whole to be well written and widely grouped. Specifically, the two stories that I will review in greater detail from this collection Heart of a Hunk are: Foxxy Christmas By: Allyson R. Abbott and A Kiss Under a Blue Christmas Moon By: Tamera Ferguson.

This sweet romance story just hit all of the right notes for me. Ferguson hands down is another must read author for me. This story is not an exception. The main characters are relatable and charming. Their relationship is honest and authentic. Just a beautifully written holiday charmer that resonated in my heart. Loved it.

The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3)
By: Claire Luana
5 out of 5 stars

The story The Confectioner’s Truth (Confectioner Chronicles Book 3) by Claire Luana is a thrilling/fantasy/romance book. It is the final story in the Confectioner’s Chronicles and is one that I loved reading. It is a page-turning book that had me wondering what was going to happen next, who was going to be victorious, and would all the characters survive? There is action, adventure, and danger. It had me hooked until I had read the final page. Wren has been the one character that I really loved reading about in this series. She is strong, independent, and loyal. The beginning of this story finds her feeling guilt, heartbroken and wondering what to do next. She feels the sting of betrayal and the loss of others. Will Wren be able to pull together an alliance that can defeat the new enemy that now rules Alesia? Will they be successful or will those who now rule Alesia be too strong to defeat? Can Wren’s shattered heart be pieced back together? Read this book to find out. The story is fast-paced. I enjoyed reading about the additional characters, many of which have already been introduced in the first two stories. I have grown to love many of them and wanted them to be successful. There are also new characters introduced. There are times when questions are raised by actions that are taken. Evil plans are in motion and must be stopped. The book had my heart beating a little faster with each chapter that I read. Awesome read and one I highly recommend.

A PRICKLY CHRISTMAS KISS (CHRISTMAS KISS SERIES – BOOK 1) BY ALLYSON R. ABBOTT – REVIEW BY MELISSA AGENA

A Prickly Christmas Kiss

A Prickly Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book is all about the Christmas spirit! A Prickly Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott is the first book in the Christmas Kiss series. Emma or as her friend Carla calls her ELF due to her initials goes to a small town called Polerton, which oddly resembles the North Pole. She was supposed to go with Carla but Carla couldn’t make it. When she gets there she meets Mr. & Mrs. C, who seems to be just like Mr. & Mrs. Clause. When she finally gets to the cabin she learns quickly that living up in the woods isn’t as easy as it looks. Then there comes Sue. Sue is what ELF named this stray cat that found her. Sue is curiously smart and always knows what ELF needs. Sue’s name in the end was actually Santa’s Little Helper! For a few days ELF and Sue get into all kinds of mischief when she meets the local veterinarian/part-time police officer Rudi. Coincidentally, Rudi has a bright red nose when she meets him. Rudi is instantly attracted to ELF. This story is so cute that I couldn’t put this book down. Now, this book is definitely a romantic type of book rather than an erotic one due to the lack of sexy scenes. But I think that if the story were to have any sex scenes it would ruin it. I love it just as it is. I also love when animals are added to the storyline and especially when they have a comedic role just as Sue did. I truly enjoyed this book a lot and I cannot wait to read the next in the series!

Guilty Pleasures Volume 2: Guilty Pleasures by Joyce McCarthy

4 Stars

This was a quick short read, only 48 pages and full of steamy content. It was hard getting into a lot of it because everything moved so fast and consisted mainly of hot steamy sex scenes while travelling through Brads fantasies. Come to think of it, the sexual content would make this book a prime candidate for a film adaptation on a website such as fuckvideos.xxx. I would definitely be intrigued to see how the storyline would pan out in a movie. As you can probably guess, I definitely would not recommend this book for anyone under 18.

This is my 3rd book by this author and I do think I enjoyed the first Guilty Pleasures a bit more than this one, but in saying that it was kind of nice not having a heavy plot going on and I could just read, which is why I guess I wish each fantasy had a bit more to it.

Would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick read full of erotica without much plot, I will say this author writes this genre very well.

A Tangy Christmas Kiss is the second book in the Christmas Kiss Series by Allyson R. Abbott. This book can definitely be read as a standalone. This is a very fun, laugh out loud holiday story. It had me hooked from the very first page and I couldn’t put it down until the last. Mel is going to Spain to help her aunt at her mother’s request. What she thought would be a vacation at the beach, turns into a whole lot more. This story proves if something can go wrong, it will. From the beginning thing went from bad to worse. Delayed layovers, bad news, language barrier are just a few of the difficulties that Mel encounters. When she reaches her destination, she realizes she is way over her head. If you are looking for a super sweet, heartwarming holiday book, this is a perfect book to choose. Allyson R. Abbott is one of my favorite go to authors, especially when I’m looking for a good laugh. Her books always pick me up and I love how she jumps around in her genres. I highly recommend this book and author.

If any day calls for a soothing glass of wine, it’s today.

One moment, Capitol Hill lobbyist Karina Cardinal is having a heated discussion with Senator Harper, who just torpedoed her latest health care legislation initiative. The next, after a cryptic remark, the senator is dead at her feet. Hours later, she’s still so rattled she wakes to a freezing apartment because she forgot to close her back door. Or did she?

When her boyfriend, FBI cybercrimes expert Mike Finnegan, is suddenly reassigned to work a new case, he’s got bad news and worse news. The bad: the senator’s death was no heart attack—it was assassination by a hacker disabling his pacemaker. Worse: Karina’s a “person of interest.”

Certain that status could change to “suspect” at any moment, Karina begins her own back-channel investigation into who could have wanted the senator dead. Of course, in Washington, that means playing politics and following the money trail. A trail that leads to more murders…and possibly leaving the door open for a killer to change her status to “dead.”

Healing Danger (A Fortis Security Novel) by Maddie Wade – Review by Michelle Austin

Healing Danger (Fortis Security #1)Healing Danger by Maddie Wade
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Healing Danger was a great 5 star read and book one in the Fortis Security series.
Once you start you will not want to put it down until your done.

Lauren and Dane had some not so great pasts that caused them both to be leary about opening their hearts up to each other. Their stories will tug at your heartstrings and you will understand the “why’ behind their issues. They were made for each other. Of course their journey isn’t an easy one, they do have their challenges.

There are unexpected twist and turns and the secondary characters added a great element to the story as well. This is a great book with suspense, romance, and so much more. I was pulled right in with Maddie’s writing. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series. If you’re looking for a great series and a great group of characters 1-click and get started today on the Security series.

By Maddie Wade

5 +++++++++++ Stars

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I’ve read the majority of this series and although they can be read as standalones I am so happy I finally went back and read book 1. This is absolutely one of my favorite series ever, and this author is in my top 10 all time favorites.

Dane and Lauren have been one of my favorite couples in this series and I’m so glad to finally have their story. I love how all of this came together and she also has a way of leaving me normally with cliffhangers that make me want to scream but in this series she doesn’t do that…What she DOES do is give you little snippets of what is to come all wound up in the ending of these books and just when you think YES no cliffhanger…BOOM she knocks you in the head with needing the next book like right now. Sorry i know that’s all a bit dramatic but its fact! LOL

Fortis Security and all that are involved with it are simply amazing, i finally got to read about all of the characters I have grown to love and see how this all began. It was kind of fun reading them out of order but now that I’ve read book 1, I will continue and reread every one of them again.

If you have not read anything by Maddie Wade first What are you waiting for? And Second start right here you will fall in love!!

A Pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott – Review by Elizabeth Sanchez

A Pink Christmas KissA Pink Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Pink Christmas Kiss is a cute romance novel by Allyson R. Abbott. It is book 3 in her Sweet Holiday/Christmas Romance series, and one of my favorites. It drew me right in and kept me hooked until the end. I was rooting for a happily ever after, and was not disappointed. The characters were very real and relate able and I loved seeing both sides of their disagreements. Billie and Leroy were high school sweethearts, that ended abruptly when Billie moved away to New York City, expecting Leroy to follow. Leroy stayed home, expecting Billie to come back home to him. The lack of communication built walls and feelings of disappointment and hurt. When Billie returns home 5 years later to take over her dad’s business, she is hoping to rekindle the relationship. But, is it too late?

A Prickly Christmas Kiss (Christmas Kiss) by Allyson R. Abbott – Review by Julie Lounello

A Prickly Christmas Kiss

A Prickly Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A Prickly Christmas Kiss by Allyson R. Abbott is a five star novel. This is the first novel in the Christmas Kiss series. I am excited to continue reading this series. The puns in this book are awesome. I love how every character and place had its’ name for a reason and are all holiday themed. Emma Louise Fallon is the main character and goes by the name of Elf. She cannot believe her friend has bailed on her for their Christmas time apart from family drama. Her new man is no longer because of his lying and cheating ways. She needs this time with her girlfriend to regenerate her love for life otherwise she just might explode. But when she finds herself in this secluded cabin, alone, she isn’t sure if she is going to survive. Then a man shows up and tries to be her Prince Charming. Will she allow him into her life or will she continue to push everyone away?
