Rising Star is the first book that I have read by Susannah Nix and if this book is anything to go by, it won’t be the last of her books that I’ll read. As well as being a great romance novel, Susannah Nix tackles the sensitive subject of sexual harassment and she does it really well. TV extra and PhD student Alice Carlisle is going through a hard time. She’s struggling with her PhD due to the unwanted attention she’s getting from one of her tutors. Her tv extra job is coming to an end and her flatmate wants her out. Rising star Griffin Beach has a predicament, he needs a dog sitter while he’s away making his new film. Who better to do the job than Alice, an extra on his tv show who adores his dog, although he’s pretty sure that she doesn’t like him. I really loved both of these characters. In particular I loved how Alice dealt with the issue of unwanted attention from Dr Gilchrist. This issue was handled so well by the author. The insights into what is going through Alice’s head give you so much love and empathy for her character. Griffin is such a sweet guy and him and Alice are so awkward around each other at first as they both try to deny their growing attraction to each other. Although, being a guy, he does make a few mistakes, but hey, we can’t all be perfect. This is a book that I would definitely recommend to others.

This is the second book that I have read by this author an again I really enjoyed it. It’s not my favourite genre but I have really enjoyed finding a new genre to enjoy and I think P.A. Wikoff is a fantastic author and he has a great writing style which keeps my interest throughout. I really liked the characters and the detail in which the author had used enabled me to fully envisage what I was reading. Lara is a really interesting character and I really enjoyed following her story. There are some great twists and turns in the story and it is definitely full of action and fantasy. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author again in the future.

The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands story by P.A. Wikoff is the second book in the Forgotten Lands series. This book can be read separate to the first although in my opinion you will be missing out. It had been a while since I have read book 1 and I loved jumping back into the Tarnished Lands world. This author has a way of painting a picture so that it is so easy to imagine the characters and what is happening. This particular book is fast paced and intense. It feels like you are taken on a wild journey, right alongside Lara. It is adventurous and exciting and an all round enjoyable read. I would definitely recommend not just this book and series but also this author.

Tell Me Something is book 1 in the something series by Aubrey Bondurant. This is the first book that I have read by this author and I was really impressed! I have been waiting a long time to find a book that had me completely hooked in this genre like this one did/ I think it’s safe to say I have found myself a new go to author and I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series. This story covers some really sensitive issues and I thought that the author did an amazing job with the way in which she wrote about them. Due to the content of this book it is definitely for mature readers only! I loved the relationship between Haylee and Josh – they were definitely good for each other. The chemistry between them was off the charts and the sex scenes were HOT!! I suppose it did have a 50 shades feel about it but so do many of the books in this type of genre and it’s definitely not an issue for me as a reader. I thought the sex scenes were particularly well written! To be honest, there were times when the sex scenes were almost as raunchy as the kind of thing you might find on a website like watchmygirlfriend.porn! I liked Haylee’s character, for someone who has suffered such loss in her life she was strong in ways she didn’t know – it takes something to completely start again and have a fresh start. During the Christmas scenes I just wanted to give her a big hug, I can’t even imagine how you get through that by yourself! Josh was a tricky character for me; on one hand I LOVED him! I loved that he didn’t fit the typical alpha male, dominant character, he had his own insecurities and issues that he had to work through but I also got frustrated with him at times when it came to him admitting how he really felt about Haylee.
Ask Me Something is Sasha and Brian’s story. This is the second book in this series and I am as in love with this book as I was the first one. I love Sasha – she comes across as really independent but there’s still that small vulnerability especially when it comes to Brian. Over the 8 years she’s kept her feelings under wraps convincing herself that there’s nothing there just friendship and an easy flirty relationship! I love that she stands her own ground when it comes to her job to prove that woman can be just as powerful as men in the boardroom! Brian, oh Brian! He was so dreamy!! Although I did want to him to just man up and tell Sasha how he felt! He definitely fulfilled the alpha male/dominant role for me and more! I would have happily taken Sasha’s place on more than one occasion!! I liked that this was told from Sasha’s POV although I think I would have liked to have seen some parts from Brian’s POV even if we do get to hear from him in the epilogue. Again this story had some underlying issues that were explored and again they were really well written about. I think this is one thing I am coming to love about this author, amongst all the hot sex scenes are storylines that have a deeper meaning and they are beautifully written about.
Bet Me Something is book 3 in the fabulous Something series . This is the third book that I have read by this author and I can’t even describe how in love with this series I am and the characters that are in it! I love that the characters from the previous books are still in this one and you can still get glimpses into their lives and how they are progressing but it doesn’t take anything away from the story that you are reading – they are cleverly intertwined! I really like this authors writing style – her books are easy to read and have kept my interest from the beginning until the end. Bet Me Something is Makenzie and Colby’s story. The chemistry between these two was immense! Poor Kenzie she has liked Colby for so long and I loved that she took her chance when she had it! I really liked her character, I thought out of all the characters in the story she grew the most and by the end of the story she had become a lot stronger and stood up for herself. Like in the other stories it took me a while to warm to the male character in this instance Colby, he was another great alpha male but he frustrated more than the others – although by the end I loved him! The struggle for him was different because he felt like he was betraying his best friend, Brian, by being attracted and wanting his younger sister.

Virginia Wine has become my new favorite author! I absolutely love this story. Alexander Kincaid Storm III! Wow! I love characters who start out as jerks, who are really just confused and lost. You know those characters that don’t know what they are missing.
Madison Perry is the female main character and doesn’t want to follow her heart. She too is confused and lost. I love these two characters, their adventure, the way they handled the situation throw at them.
I am looking forward to reading more from Wine and recommend that you start reading her too!

Its the story of Dr. Tessa Freeman who is dedicated to her patients in every way. She becomes involved with several girls who are trying to get out of the underground slave trade. In trying to help them Tessa becomes captured by the Slave Master. Her only hope out is Debt Collector Locke who is full of mystery and secrets. His only payment is her body completely. He also shares her with his best friend Gage. When she meets Gage sparks fly and there is instant chemistry. Is it more than lust or does she have feelings for Gage and Locke? She will do anything in her power to escape this crazy mess and end up with the man of her dreams. This book is not for the faint of heart! I was turning those pages faster than I ever have. Hearts of a Hunk: A Limited Edition Collection of Bad boy, Billionaire & Hunky Romance Heroes by Various Authors. This is an amazing Collection of Romance, Fantasy, Contemporary Romance, Second Chance, Paranormal & Suspense stories. There is literally something for everyone. I read them all and loved them. My favorites were No Place Like Home by Stephanie Morris which is the story of Tabitha looking for a new start on life and love who decides to work on a cattle ranch. She meets Aiden who has been hurt severely and is looking to heal, will they both let down their guard to learn to love and trust again? Such a great story. I also really enjoyed Christmas for Two by Kris Jayne. Its the story of Delilah who used to work for Griffin and he contacts her to come back to work for him or does he want more? Such a fun workplace romance! Take the time to read this collection and you won’t be disappointed.

The author did an amazing job pulling me into this book of suspense, mystery, danger, and funny antics. I loved reading this story, once I started I couldn’t put it down till I found out what happened. This book really makes you think…could this really happen? Why can’t Karina seem to keep herself out of trouble? I love that her character is so inquisitive, but she also listens to advice most of the time anyway. This is definitely a book you won’t want to miss!! This book can be read as a standalone, but my suggestion is to read the first book because it is awesome, but also because there are some references to things that happened in the first book and you will have a better knowledge of some of the characters. I highly recommend this book, it is a great read!

It was a good book!! It’s an edge of the seat page turner. Your boyfriend has to investigate a murder that you’re the prime suspect. The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story by P.A. Wikoff is the second book in the Forgotten Woods series. Though each book can be read as a standalone I would suggest reading Book 1, The Harrowed Half-Breed, first. Just like book 1 this book is incredibly detailed, so detailed in fact that it felt as if I was right beside Lara during her journey of self-discovery.
This storyline is dark, twisted, captivating, entertaining and action-packed. I was captivated from the very beginning until the end.

The story was very hard for me to get Into. There is so much narrative. I struggled to focus on the story. I found myself reading through a haze at times. It does get more exciting about half way. For some reason I really couldn’t get into Lara’s story. I didn’t even realize she is the assassin until she keeps killing. Her Master disappears and Lara goes on a quest for find her. On her way she runs into different feathered folk and humans. Some she likes and others she doesn’t. She learns a few things about herself as the story moves forward. The character Lara actually seemed like a good character. I could see her growth as the story went on. This is the second in the series. I feel it could be read as a stand alone but it might be more enjoyable if read in series order.

The Mother-in-Law by Judy Moore is a suspense thriller novel that would be more aptly titled monster-in-law. This book is the perfect poster child for why you should never marry someone that you haven’t known more than a month. Which is exactly what Victoria does. Too her it was a fairy tale; she found true love and put a ring on it as fast as she could. But not all fairy tales have a happy ending, especially if there’s an estranged mother-in-law. This was slow thriller book. It took a long time for suspense to build and motivations to be revealed, which after a while began to drag. I wish there was more suspense to this book, and there was more of a payoff in the end. A lot of the chapters felt as though they were acting as fillers to make the book chunkier, and didn’t add anything to the plot. Especially when comparing this book to Judy Moore’s Murder in the Vail, which had me hooked from the very beginning. In the end I found that I had no real connection to any of the characters, and their relationships didn’t affect me. Which truly is a shame, as I fell in love with the premise of the story, thinking I was in for book filled to the brim with suspense, but instead it all fell flat for me. I still loved the writing, and level of detail that went into in the book, as well as thought the idea was very creative, it just could have been executed a bit better. Alas, I still look forward to reading more from Judy Moore in the future.

The Memory of Us is a second chance story written by Lisa Sorbe. It is a tale of a rekindled romance between Elena and Weston. They knew each other their whole lives and were the best of friends. Until they became more. Events had them not seeing each other for years, only to meet again.
This story is light, even though it deals with loss and moving on. The author has a way of softening the blow, for lack of a better word. So even though it is really sad, your focus becomes the two leading characters and of course, the somewhat humorous and eccentric secondary characters. I understood each character in a semi detached way, but that in no way detracts from the high quality of this author’s work. It is a busy time and I could not give the book the complete attention it deserved, but I thoroughly enjoyed their story and the enigmatic writing style this author demonstrates. 4 stars.

As I likely mentioned in my reviews of the first two books in this trilogy, this series is meant to be read in sequential order. Each book ties in well with the storyline of the book before it, picking up where we left off. I really enjoyed this series as a whole, I don’t read this genre too often but every now and then a book will catch my eye. The Confectioner’s Chronicles truly surpassed my expectations, I enjoyed the series from each cover to the conclusion. There was never a shortage of excitement, twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Wren was a great character with depth and I enjoyed seeing the character progression throughout the series. It’s difficult to share the aspects of this book I really enjoyed without running the risk of spoiling anything. That being said, I felt like the Confectioner’s Truth wrapped up the Chronicles very well and I wasn’t left disappointed. Claire Luana has crafted must read series for sure!

Another amazing ride from Birmingham! Nursed and mystery and romance – oh my! This book drew me in immediately and I could not put it down until the final page was read. The characters were complex and flawed and relatable. The plot was complete and detailed and riveting and suspenseful and… I simply couldn’t read the story fast enough. I devoured these pages and loved these characters and the further development of this series.
This second installment in the Fallen Eagles MC series really should be read in series order to be best appreciated and understood. Highly recommend.

This short and sweet Christmas novella is the perfect addition to your holiday reading list. It is engaging, sweet, and a quick read. It pulled me in immediately and had me smiling from beginning to end. Enjoyed this work from Packard and definitely recommend it to others.
What a beautiful roller coaster! This journey (because that is definitely what this story is) will leave you emotionally wrung out and still wanting more. It is beautifully written with relatable complex characters. Comprised of tragedy, sorrow, war, second chances, T. Birmingham has created a universe that I will gladly wrap myself in again and again.

I was unsure what I was getting myself into when I picked up this book. All seems idyllic when we meet our main character. Then enter the mother in law. This study on human emotion and character development was gripping and haunting. Not my typical pick in the suspense category; however, I felt the author wrote a compelling tale and one that is quite a study of human character. Interesting story. I look forward to reading more from this author.

Rising Star by Susannah Nix is an engaging contemporary romance with a friends-to-lovers and Hollywood romance element to it. But this story is so much more, as there is an underlying story that examines some current social issues and gives this story an extra edge. The story took me by surprise- in a good way, and I enjoyed following along for the ride. The ‘romance’ part of the story is a bit of a ‘slow-burn’ as the characters transition from acquaintances to friends and then to lovers. Ms. Nix developed the characters and storyline superbly, coaxing me further and further into the book to find out what would happen. Looking forward to more from Ms. Nix!

Leaving Jackson Wolf by P. A. Kane is a five star novel. Teenage angst runs rampant in this book and this is my guilty pleasure. I love young adult novels and actually prefer them. I was also drawn to this novel because of the intriguing cover. I don’t know what it is exactly but as soon as I saw the cover, I knew I needed to read this novel. I didn’t look at the synopsis or any reviews or anything before picking it up. I was right in knowing I needed to read this book. Jackson is a teenage boy with a love interest and trouble at school. As we get to know more about him, we find out about his mom leaving and his dad being a bully. No wonder Jackson tries standing up for his classmates who are being bullied. As the book progresses, Jackson and his friends navigate their lives and try to make themselves better people than the crappy role models they have had in the past.

Hope’s Defeat is the third installment of the Fated Series by Angela McPherson. This series is one that I will read again because I am afraid, I missed something. The world that Angela McPherson has created with her stories makes me want to live in her books (I know that is not possible, but one can dream). This story has all the same elements as the first two books, paranormal. Mythology, curses, gods and goddess, and light and dark. This story is a continuation of Trinity and Blain story. Trinity is trying to help Blain get out of his situation with the dark side of the road. She is willing to give up everything and I mean EVERYTHING for him. Fatal Legislation is the second book in the Karina Cardinal series. Ellen Butler is an amazing writer who can keep me guessing throughout the story. Bulter investigates her topics to the point where I can honestly believe what is happening could be true. Karina is amazing at her job. She does on occasion seem to get in trouble. That is when the fun starts. With this story Karina is at the wrong place at the wrong time. Senator Harper just happens to die at her feet after a remark was said. Now Karina has become paranoid wondering if she is next. Mike Finnegan who is in a relationship with Karina has just had the news handed to him about Senator Harper. Next, he is about to find out that Karina may have had something to do with it. Will Karina find out what really happened to the Senator or will she be next to be eliminated? Make sure you are prepared to read in one sitting because it is a page turner.

“Degrees of Power” is the fourth book in the Prestian Series and the series should be read in order to understand the complexity of the relationships between all of the characters.
This is a series in which we, the reader, are able to watch the growth of the main protagonists as they navigate professional and personal day to day living. The author does a great job of keeping the journey interesting.
The writing is very detailed and at the beginning of this story there is a warning about it containing adult content. As the couple engages in safe and consensual BDSM, the writing stays as detailed as the other plot points in the story.
There is enough new content in each story to keep it fresh while the continuing thread of suspense kept the story moving along.
This is a series I recommend, especially if you have the entire series downloaded before you start as you will want to devour it from beginning to end.

After writing this review, I am going to find out if this is part of a longer story or series. I’m invested in the Yates Family and want to know how it all turns out.
A quick and easy read that centers around the Christmas holiday and it reminds us why we still believe in ” Santa Claus”. Bleak from the very beginning, this story is not a all puppy dogs and butterflies yet it allowed me heart to swell and believe in happy endings.
It is clean and YA friendly and I things any age group could enjoy it.
I really missed the Tarnished Lands and I am grateful that I went back in P.A. Wikoff’s book The Progeny Assassin: A Tarnished Lands Story. Wikoff does such an amazing job bringing me right into the story like I never left. His characters are a part of my friends in the sense of my book friends. The world that Wikoff builds is very detailed which makes it easy to picture in my mind’s eye. Wikoff’s character Lara is one of favorite characters. Lara is a feathered-folk who is looking for the breeze that once blew through the forest so long ago. It is Lara’s journey that I went on with her to seek out the truth. It has its ups and downs and twists and turns but never a dull minute within the story. This is a quick read so make sure you have all your goodies by you so that you can read it in one sitting.

Souls Collide is the third book in Kristina Beck’s The Collide Series. It is a stand-alone book, that tells the story of two characters who are thrown together by a series of events and learn more about each other, and themselves, along the way. The characters were fairly interesting. Alexa is an intelligent and bubbly pharmaceutical salesperson, plagued by a series of unfortunate dates (for whom she has nicknames). Kent is a police officer who is struggling through the darkness of grief and the fear of losing his sister. They are introduced as a contrast, but throughout the story more is revealed and developed in their characters. It opens as a standard romance – characters (and the chemistry between them!) are introduced and the reader thinks they know where it’s going. But as the story progresses, the plot is complicated with twists, suspense and surprises which makes it much more exciting to read! Beck’s attention to detail is evident throughout the book, but particularly striking in the way she includes cancer in the story. With a variety of perspectives and a sensitive approach, this is particularly well done. For me this is a four-star read. I’d recommend it if you want an emotional romance with plenty of friction and suspense. I haven’t read any of the other books in the series, but I’ll definitely keep them in mind for later!

Hopes Defeat was a great 5 star read and the final book in The Fated series. This series pulled me in right from the start. We have action, suspense, romance and so much more.
We continue with Blain and Trinity’s story, Blain has been infected. Trinity is trying to save him. When she finally finds someone that might be able to help she has to make a choice? Will she make the right one?
I was on an emotional rollercoaster with everything going on and on the edge of my seat wondering what was coming next. There are several twist and turns. All of the secondary characters added a great element to each of the books in the series. Angela McPherson’s writing pulls you right in, you feel like your right there with the characters. I was very happy with the ending. I highly suggest reading the series from the beginning, you will understand everything so much better.

This is book three in the collide series. This story can be read as a standalone. We do meet the other characters from the previous books. This book is Alexa’s and Kent’s story. Alexa and Kent fall in love at first sight, but it is a battle to accept one’s feelings at times. Alexa is sweet and sassy with a huge heart. Kent is protective, loving, and funny even though it takes him to find himself. I love these characters interactions with each other. I also loved Abby and Vince. These are great characters, and I hope they get their own happily ever after! Kristina Beck created great characters and wonderful over all story!
