Wow! What a story this was. I felt every emotion with this one. Emil is a broken man who just can’t catch a break. After returning from the war, hes trying to adjust to civilian, but his PTSD is making things very hard. He’s a calm guy but when he’s having a flashback, he isn’t himself. Perrin lives life to the fullest by picking a hobby and mastering it then moving on to the next. When she takes an interest in learning a type of dance, her boss knows just the person but he refuses. These two were great for each other and I loved how Perrin just tried to help and embraced all Emil was. This is a must read.
Killer Lawyer is the third book in the Jake Wolfe series by Mark Nolan. While it could probably be read as a stand alone book, I recommend reading the first two books. Not only because they have overlapping characters, and you will have a better understanding of their dynamics, but because they are good! Jake is a complex character, he is a lawyer by day, and an assassin by night. He works with the US Marshals, and also alongside the SFPD. He also is a retired marine, and K9 handler, so he and his dog Cody chase down criminals. In this book, they are after a serial killer that is terrorizing the greater San Francisco area. Jake has a lot of connections that help him track the killer, including his best friend Terrell, who is part of SFPD and Jake used to be a photo journalist, so he has ties to the media as well. Overall its a very good book, with a good balance of psychology, law and suspense and drama. I love Mark Nolan’s stories, and this did not disappoint.

An Italian Adventure is my first book by Gaia Amman. I was not sure what to expect and I am glad to find out that it was a fun story. Amman did a great job of telling the story in such detail that I felt like I was right there with Leda. The main character Leda was built by Amman in her own image when she was young. The setting is in Italy. The country through Leda’s eye is beautiful. The fun had just begun for Leda and by the time you are done reading the story you will be amazed with your mind’s eye that you could mentally put everything together as it should be. I cannot wait to read the other books in this series.

Climbing the walls by Sacha T.Y Fortune is my first book I’ve read by this author. Climbing the wall is a Absolutely stunning read and is Book 1 in the Hart and Cole Series. Let me start off by saying I love the way this book is written. You get to know what Kris and Nicole are feeling it’s written from both sides so you get to know them both really well and get to understand who was thinking what. Nicole is a workaholic wife and mother who has a high demand job and Kris is more hands on with the kids and being home. Kris and Nicole are trying to balance Work, Love, Kids and everything life throws at them. Climbing the walls is a long book to read it is not one you can read in a short time but the way its written keeps you absorbed and wanting more you will not be disappointed. I can not wait to read book two and see what’s next.

I give Pandora’s Poison (Hart & Cole Book 2) by Sacha T. Y. Fortuné, 4 stars. *Spoilers from book one are contained in this review*
Darren Hart is a self-made rich and powerful man. He loves his job. And he loves his wife, even if he doesn’t show it anymore. Even after her affair and the child by another man, he has stayed by her. Their relationship has not been good in a long time, but he doesn’t want her to go. He is a man who gets what he wants, and he wants his wife and children.
Luisa has had enough. That horrible night was the last straw. She cannot do it anymore. But she is told that her chance of custody in a divorce is very slim. She has been a stay-at-home mother to a rich and powerful man for too long. So she has to bite the bullet and go back home. She can go back to work and make her chances better. But he says he wants to make it work. Does he really? His snide comments tell her otherwise, but this is the almighty Darren Hart. And what does she really want? What about the child’s father? Now that he knows, he wants to see his child. But is that all he wants?
This was a very complex book. I will be honest, I liked this one better than the first book. The complexity of these people were so intriguing. We met Darren in book one, but did not see too much of Luisa. In that book, she was just the wife who cheated and became pregnant with her lover’s child. Darren was the “victim”. In this book you learn just what brought her to it, and the guilt she has lived with ever since.
This is a book about the darker side of relationships. Everything is not always sunshine and roses. In my opinion, it can be read as a stand alone, but you would probably see things better reading book one first. If you don’t mind your stories a bitter darker, this book is for you.
Perilous Confessions was a gripping, exciting read that I thoroughly enjoyed reading. When I first read the blurb for this book I instantly felt like I was going to enjoy it, it was intriguing, the author was new to me so I was really excited to get started. It didn’t take me long at all to become completely invested in everything that was going on in the story. The detail that the author used meant that I could imagine everything that I was reading; I always find this a huge positive when reading historical reads – I want that extra detail to help me envisage what the characters are doing – especially the lavish parties!! The author certainly got this spot on with this story. The characters, Lucy and Alex, were fantastic and their chemistry was amazing, you really could feel it between them. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from this author in the future and definitely recommend this wonderful story!

Pandora’s Poison, Hart and Cole, Book 2 by Sacha T.Y Fortune 4 out of 5 Stars This second book in this series is an amazing continuation of this series. I loved the first book with all of my heart (pun intended) and soul. This book is a dual point of view book. I am not usually a fan of dual POV books, but I feel that this added to this story. You are given the unique opportunity to learn about each character. Their thoughts, passions and hopes, while learning about what they fear, love and dream for. Darren and Luisa are two characters that you just fall into. They are so easy to love that it this book is effortless. The author has crafted a beautiful story and I have such high hopes for the continuation for book 3.

Killer Lawyer by Mark Nolan is a phenomenal suspense read that had me sitting on the edge of my seat from beginning until end. It’s the third book in the Jake Wolfe series and my first book by this author, but it certainly won’t be my last. I can honestly say that I had no problems jumping into this book having not read the first two. The author provided plenty of detail, so I had no issue piecing everything together.
I love how Mark was able to seamlessly tell this story from multiple POV’s, having so many POV’s to read from made this highly entertaining and engaging the whole way through. This was one of those books that I didn’t want to put down and when I absolutely had to put it down, I couldn’t wait to come back to continue.
I will be going back to the first two books of this series so I can read more about Jake, the incredibly selfless hero. This is a book I would absolutely recommend to others.

Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) By Alicia Street Rated 5 stars!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book! Even though this is a shorter book it made me feel like it’s a longer one. There was no skimping on emotions, thoughts or actions. This is a chance meeting. Raina has a good heart and she shared some of it with a homeless boy. I was rooting for her at the beginning! You go Girl! This is basically Raina’s life philosophy. She is smart and thoughtful and has a huge heart. I think she is the star of this book. Not that Roman didn’t have huge obstacles to overcome. She was very solid all the way through. When the Raina’s family got together it was great. I had a smile on my face for most of the scene. Kip and Tucker are so funny. Both of their stories will be good and fun!
Even though I have not read any of the other books I felt at home with these characters. This is easily a stand alone but I’m sure there would be benefits to reading the others. I plan on getting them myself. This is a first time author for me. I enjoyed her writing. How she pulled me into the story and didn’t rush the characters. Very thought provoking and enjoyable!

Not So Broken (Love Grows Series Book 1) By Renee Regent Rated 4 stars
This is a nice story of a couple who feels life is a bit of a struggle for them. Gibson is hiding from his family and responsibilities. Sacha has plans for her life and her future. Going off the plan isn’t an option. One crazy night and everything is blown to smithereens. I love that this book is told from both of their point of views. . The characters are good but I kept feeling something was lacking. I just couldn’t feel the connection between them. Not sure why because each character separately had a fascinating story. At times I was bored and others I couldn’t turn the page fast enough to see what was going to happen next. The secondary characters were good as well and made the story more interesting.

It is a book that had me upset or angry at times with what was happening and also with tears in my eyes. It is one of those books that when I finished all I can say is “Wow!” Once I started, I couldn’t bring myself to put it down until I had read the final page. The story of Bria du Mont and Damien du Sky is one that touched my heart. It also had my heart breaking. These two had a love that was undeniable. They were soulmates. That is until the day that Damien finds her in bed with another man. Bria and Damien both become workaholics. Bria has broken heart syndrome and becomes emotionally numb. Damien drowns himself in alcohol, anger, and jealousy. This is a book that had my emotions going on an up and down rollercoaster ride. Both Bria and Damien can’t seem to stay away from each other even after all that has happened. The past seems to always have a hold on them. What are the secrets that they uncover about the tragic night when their world was shattered? The dialogue/interactions between Bria, Damien, and the other characters in the story are at times intense. This is the first story in a series and I can’t wait to read the next one.

The story Rainy Day Lovers (The Rocklyns Book 3) by Alicia Street is a contemporary romance book. This was an amazing story to read. One of the reasons is the wonderful characters of Raina and Roman. I absolutely loved reading about them. Raina is a woman who is strong, independent, and kind. She is a person who helps those in need. She is a problem-solver. However, she has found that while she has been helping others she has not progressed with her own personal life. Roman is a man that also helps those in need. He is handsome, hard-working, and loyal. There is definitely an attraction between these two. When reading about them you can feel the way that they affect each other. Will Raina let Roman into her heart? Will Roman, a man whose past still haunts him, take a chance at love? Read this book to find out. This is a romance story that had me hooked and had my emotions going up and down. Raina and Roman are both characters that I grew to love with each chapter that I read and I wanted them to find happiness. I enjoyed that both characters have a love of family. There are steamy moments in the story. I also enjoyed the dialogue/interactions that Roman and Raina had with the secondary characters. The bantering made smile. There are moments that are sad and others that warmed my heart. This is a story that I didn’t want to put down until I had read the last page. It is a book I would highly recommend.

The Shape of Trust is book five in the Stand By Me series by Brinda Berry. I am fascinated by this author’s twist of words. How they intricately intertwine to deliver an impeccable romance story.
Webb is a cheeky character with charisma and class. He is also a human that has his scars to wear. He has turned his life around, but never expects to become an instant dad. He takes to the role naturally, and was a joy to get to know. Out of his element, he gains the assistance of Lily, who he is insanely attracted to. Lily made me want to wrap her up, protect her from the world’s ugliness and spoil her rotten. She is exceptionally selfless and honourable, both qualities that I admire and applaud. She knows no limit to her kindness, and is not afraid to share how much her people mean to her.
The Shape of Trust was an profoundly excellent story that I could not put down. Captivating and stimulating, I cannot recommend this book enough. High praise for this story and its author. 5 stars.

I’m not quite sure how she does it but this second installment in the series is even more captivating than the first! Fortuné continues to surprise and delight, excelling at her writing craft. One hundred percent echo other reviewers – do not even think about reading this book before reading the first. Spellbinding, heartbreaking, masterful – this story and its alternating POV weave a story so dense and deep you will find yourself getting tired from treading water. I simply cannot wait for book three – although I’m not sure my heart is ready for it.

Pandora’s Poison: Hart and Cole book two by Sacha T.Y. Fortune. If you haven’t read book one Climbing The Walls do it, it’s the beginning of this great series centered on Darren and Luisa. Pandora’s Poison is a great follow up to Climbing the Walls, as everything gets more complicated and all the lies and omissions come out will anyone survive it unscathed. Louisa is lying so much it hard to keep up, Darren doesn’t know what to believe but he knows what he has to do to get the answers. Gianni is more involved in this story along with Kris. There is a lot going on with Pandora’s Poison but it makes the story so good. I can’t wait to read Pandora’s Price.
This book just made the story even more twisted. Dahlia is still stubborn and defensive. She couldn’t figure things out. Some things in life are unavoidable but she made things complicated. The author took the details in this story seriously. You don’t lack a lot of information in this story. There were a few moments that could be taken out. There was just something about Dahlia that just makes me want to slap her. But I enjoy my life so I’m just going to think it lol. The reason behind all this mess is still unclear to me. I’m even more confused by Aidric. Over all the story was enjoyable and violent. I liked that Dahlia remained strong even in the face of uncertainty.

I enjoyed this book. This is a story about building a relationship for the majority of your life and how one simple choice could tear everything apart. Bria and Damien’s story is full of drama and emotions. We get to see how their relationship falls apart but we do get to see, feel their love for each other. Their story is told in the present but does go back to the past which in parts was hard to follow. Overall, I enjoyed their story and I highly recommend reading it.

Mark Nolan just gets better and better with each Jake Wolfe story he produces. There is action, suspense and even a little romance in this story. Nolan takes us into the mind of not only Jake but also the psychopath killer.
This is book three in the Jake Wolfe series. It is best read in order because many of the characters carry over from the first two books. After reading the first two books waiting for the next story was not easy to do. Reading this story was like welcoming back an old friend. Mark Nolan easily brings Jake Wolfe to life.
I can’t wait to read what comes next for Jake and from Nolan.

An Italian Adventure was a fun and interesting novel following Leda aka Lee as she grows as a character. Being a major tomboy she has always wanted to be a boy because that is what her father wanted, was a boy. As the story progresses she shares her experiences and the things that begin to open her eyes as she moves from a child to a young adult. I found her story fascinating and loved the interaction between her family and group of male friends. It was interesting to see their view of her change over time as well. Great novel!

This book starts off with a bang. I was white knuckling my kindle the entire time. Emilio is the definition of space pirate, however the way he says it, he is just a runner. The glory, the money, the prestige. What he did not plan on risking was Toni. Toni is running from a very complicated situation. Toni and Emilio find themselves stranded on his ship in the middle of nowhere with no where to go. Emilio has a deadline to meet, or he will face the wrath of the drug lord who contacted him. This mystery, suspense novel has the perfect amount of romance thrown in to appease everyone of all genres. Ms. Graf is an amazing author. She has crafted an amazing story and has set a foundation for an amazing series!

Jake Wolfe is someone you do not want after you. He is a lawyer by day and assassin by night. He really just wants to be left alone with his dog and girlfriend. But someone is always ready to change things for Jake. He is framed, and it is he who must prove his innocence. All the while protecting his loved ones and friends. It’s a race against time.
I love reading Mark Nolan‘s books. Everyone of his characters play a hot part in his story. My favorite thing about his books are, that each of his main characters tell you what they are thinking throughout the story. Cody is still my favorite character! I love his way of thinking. This is a fast paced, quick page turning story. I can’t wait to see where Mark Nolan takes Jake and Cody next! Job well done!!

I’m not sure how I felt about this story. I usually love Historical stories. The time was so different men treated certain women with respect and laid freely with others. Women were property they had no rights or say so. I love the concept of courting. It’s so refreshing and special. Now guys don’t talk you on romantic walks or open doors for you. Lucy was a confusing character. She cried a lot and couldn’t make up her mind. You either forgive someone of their past or you don’t. You don’t forgive but hold it over their head. Alex was tiring to read about. He has major issues. Over all it was interesting to read the authors view of that time period. How free the author was with character affection towards each other. The Shape of Trust (a Stand By Me novel Book 5) By Brinda Berry. Once again I’m completely hooked by one of the Stand By Me stories. This author just has a way of writing a story that completely drags me in and I lose sleep over because I just can’t put it down. Webb and Lily may have just stolen my heart with their story. Webb lived a wild life but now he’s responsible for more than just himself but luckily for him Lily may be just what he needs. Watching these two grow and interact throughout this story was fun. It’s well written and paced nicely. With characters you can connect with and root for. I can’t wait to read more from this amazing author. I’m giving this book a five star review and highly recommend it.

C.L Schneider has once again created an unique read that is captivating, vivid, magical and utterly brilliant. The mentally visual read is stunningly descriptive with brilliant world building and great characters. This author has created a flowing read that keeps you invested in the story, so much so you think you are living the life of our main character Daliha Nite. This book should be read after book one as it flows effortlessly from book 1 to book 2.
This read is filled with suspense, mystery, fantasy and danger. To make it even more enjoyable is that it’s a shifter read, one that is unique and different from other shifter reads I have read. This book is also filled with twists and turns throughout, and keeps you guessing for most of the story! Both of these reads were brilliant from the get go, but there was something different with this read! There just seemed to be a lot more story in these books that had extra depth & brilliance. Daliha and Creed are back again and this time they bring an extra level of greatness to this read with their brilliant connection and how well they work together.
This is a fast paced, high fantasy read that shouldn’t be missed. I can’t wait to see what else comes of this series, and what else this author can do. This is a read not to be missed!

Perilous Confessions was beautifully written and I found it easy to get wrapped up in. The characters and setting were easy to visualize even with it being at a different time in history. The fashion for the time was easy to visualize as well. I loved this story although I rooted for Lucy to choose Freddy over Alex the whole time. I did not expect the way it ended but I was happy with the way it all came together. I look forward to reading more in this series.

My best friend works with Vets in a professional capacity and the fact that we talk about that a lot and that one of the main characters is a vet experienced PTSD intrigued me. The plot summary does NOT do this book justice. Emil has only been stateside for two months and there’s already been a funeral for one of his Army buddies who survived deployment just to die in a car wreck. Perrin is an adrenaline junkie who is always on the lookout for new hobbies so she can live life every single day. An extremely sexy Latin dance (I’m serious, look up a video of bachata) brings them together, and though the sparks are not immediate and Emil’s flashbacks happen at the worst times, the pair cannot deny their feelings. Perrin usually lives her life solo. Emil wonders if he’s even safe to be around. They can both help each other but they need to freaking communicate!! The tension is great and some of the random stuff that went through the main character’s minds made me laugh out loud.

A Tendency Dark and Dangerous was a great 5 star read. Wow, what did I just read?
Evangeline meets Landon at an art gallery show. She is quickly attracted to the dark, handsome, demanding man which threatens her happiness with someone else.
Evangeline can’t stop thinking about Landon and when he texts her to come see him, she goes. That night changed everything for her. Somewhere on this battlefield at the edge of who I’ve become lies a casualty whose name I’ve nearly forgotten.
She becomes obsessed with Landon and his dominance. There is something about the thrill of being bad that keeps drawing her in, needing it like an addiction. I have become a slave to my own sins.
There are some unexpected twists. I think I’m still floored at how Landon was with Evangeline. This is a quick read that has some shocking moments, for me anyway. This is my first read from Emmalyn Danvers and I loved it. I like how Landon never backed down or went soft in his character, I love the dark and demanding men in a read and Landon didn’t disappoint.

Alicia Street’s Rainy Day Lovers is the third book of the Rocklyns series. This contemporary romance story was emotionally touching, full of growth, values, and more. The opening scenes captured my interest and the following chapters maintained it. I felt this story was completely intriguing, well written and filled with a mix of elements that make the story more than just romantic words on a page with a dash of drama thrown in. Raina and Roman were beautiful characters and much more than the facades shared with the world, there was true depth to the characters. I enjoyed reading their story as it unfolded on the pages and how they maneuvered all the obstacles or hurdles that were thrown into their paths. Alicia Street is a talented author and I look forward to reading more of her works in the future.

Caught in Cross Seas by Sharleen Scott is the first book in the Caught series. From the beginning, I was drawn into the characters of Harlie Cates and Clay Masterson. Harlie is hard working and trying to escape her past. Clay is looking for his long lost dad. The story shows that we might put our past behind us but it tends to sneak up on us. I enjoyed the characters and that the story incorporated romance, intrigue, and suspense well. I was rooting for the characters and wanted to see everything work out for the best. This was a good read and I look forward to continuing the series.
