Coming Home is a fun-loving Christmas story by Jane Suen. I like Jane’s other books and I knew that I would like this one as well. The story was a quick read, but it has such a powerful story within the covers. I felt that the characters could easily be a part of my family or friends. I love Mary Ann’s character the most. I love how she achieved what she wanted in life. Mary Ann is such a strong female character. This story was filled with emotions and twists and turns. I would suggest a kleenex box near you and to set enough time to complete this story.

Detective Sergeant Gray is called to the scene of a death. It appears to be a 16 year old boy who jumped off a balcony. This hits hard for Gray, since his missing son would be that age. Is it him? If not, what happened to the boy? Was it suicide or was there more going on here? And then there is another murder. Someone Gray knows. He knows his life is falling apart, but is it really connected to him or just coincidence? Can Gray solve these mysteries? Can he pull himself out of this murk that he lives in?
This is a great crime thriller revolving around Detective Sergeant Gray. He has experienced extreme tragedies in his life. His character is very complex, not just a one-sided, boring person. This makes it more interesting. The story itself is very gripping and has a lot going on. You will not know the truth until the very end. Along the way, prepare for a rollercoaster of events and emotions.
I quite enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to those who like suspenseful crime dramas.

If the Shoe Fits ( The Liberty Lawrence Series Book #3) by Bea Stevens. I love these books. They are so funny and sweet. It’s the story of Liberty “Libby” Lawrence, who has gotten a new job at the Chronicles Women supplement in the Fashion Section. She loves her new job but her boss, Valerie Fulton-Coombes is horrible. Libby is set to work on a new clothing collection and she’s so excited until she realizes the clothes are not made well and Valerie loves them. Add a crime involved with the clothing collection and Libby blurting to the police about personal information they didn’t really need to hear and things go from bad to worse. Will Libby lose her job or more importantly her life. These books are sooo good. I can’t wait to read another.

If The Shoe Fits by Bea Stevens a four-star read that will fit like a glove. This is the third novel in the Liberty Lawrence series, it can be read as stand-alone, but I have loved the series as a whole. I adore Libby, because like me, she has a little problem with saying the wrong thing at the wrong time. Libby at times is a little annoying but she also has a heart of gold and a passion for sleuthing and fashion that will make you chuckle.

Dig Two Grave: A Gripping Crime Thriller ( Solomon Gray Book 1) by Keith Nixon. This book is amazing. It’s the story of Detective Solomon Gray whose 16 year old son disappears at fair and has never been found. When he’s called to an apartment block he just feels something is off, the victim is a 16 year old kid (just like his son) and they say it was suicide but for some reason Gray’s phone number is in this kid’s phone. How is that possible, he doesn’t even know the kid. As he digs deeper into this case, bodies pile up and he must face his own ghosts about his son’s disappearance. Will Gray let his own personal tragedy cause him to lose his job or will he solve this crime that may solve his own son’s crime. This book is so good and you get swept up in it quickly! Can’t wait to read another book by Mr. Nixon.

Coming Home by Jane Suen a four-star read that will welcome you home. This is the sequel to Flowers in December and will astound you, it’s a great story that even though has elements of Christmas it doesn’t need to be read at that time of year. This story starts four-months after the first and I would advise you to read the first part as you would be lost if you didn’t. This is such a powerful story and deals with matters that not all find easy to read. The way the author manages to deal with it so gracefully in such a short amount of pages will surprise you.

Penny For Your Thoughts, Sand Dollar Series Book One, by J. D. Boudreaux

Penny For Your Thoughts is a wonderful sweet romance. Main characters Alex and Penny meet after Alex stops to help Penny with her fake flat tire. She really is doing her first news piece focusing on Southern hospitality. The two have a spark and their relationship buds. Alex was a complex character really and there was more going on with him than seen. I loved that he was an Athletic Trainer/Physical Therapist. I haven’t seen that career choice for main characters very often. Penny was very sweet and focused. I strongly disliked her family but could easily see how it influenced and shaped her. The storyline was easy to follow and very addictive. I also like how the author introduces Payton’s character and her mix into this story. Great book!

A great read about passion. Lani Mackay is a struggling artist trying to make her way in the world to her own exhibition. When her uncle dies and she is surprisingly named in the will, it is too good an opportunity to pass up. But it comes with a strange request. To gain her inheritance, she must complete a series of tasks contained in a mysterious box. Can she complete them all and get the money she needs to fund her dream? A great read. Well developed plot with twists and turns. Well developed characters like Lani going for her dream no matter what or Max supportive and kind but another side to him. Lani’s struggles as an artist were emotive and relatable and her passion for art and the itch to paint was a lovely touch and was beautifully written. I loved the visual detail throughout the novel like with the secluded nature of Max’s house deep in the forest with its wooden cabin feel and hearth fire place as homely as if it’s a world away from the stresses of life. Or Lani’s art painted in vivid colours with passion and beauty. Or the little village in the snow, magical and wonderfully hidden in the forest. Or the opposites of the red fires and the blue ice so intense it was as if you were actually there and contrasting beautifully. Overall, a great read and I would give it five stars.

Well after finishing this book the whole series is now complete. This author knows how to weave a story with every emotion being played and just needing to see what happens next. You must read the first two books in this series otherwise you’ll be jumping into a story straight in the thick of things. I will be reading more from this author, as i’ve loved both Prestian series and this one as well.

This is my second book by this author and I did enjoy it, maybe not as much as the first one I read but I did and can not wait for the next in the series.
I loved the characters, I loved the storyline and while the first book I read by this author was also quite short it felt smoother and the author was able to fit a complete story without any issue, this one in some ways felt rushed to me, there didn’t need to be a whole lot more but with a few more pages a smoother story might have happened..This is purely my feelings about it and others may feel completely different. Again though, in saying all of that I still completely loved this book and I guess in a nutshell would have liked more of it.
I love that this author writes clean romances and there are never any scenes I might need to skim through depending on my mood that day.
Honestly this book teeters towards a 5 star for me but it’s only the things moving a bit too fast that keeps me back.
This author is a must read, and I can not wait for the next, I have a feeling it’s going to include one of Johns brothers and I’m kind of hoping it is Mark…Mr. I’m going to be a bachelor for a long time LOL

I really wanted to love this book, it just missed that mark for me. Between the language I had to try and make sense of but also the overly done descriptions, it just drug it all down for me. It took a bit to get into as it was a different style of writing, but after about 100 pages, I had to keep going to see what happened next.
We do learn a couple very valuable things in this book, but the main question I had wasn’t answered/solved, so I may read the next book to see if my answer is hidden there.

Everyday Enchantments: Musings on Ordinary Magic & Daily Conjurings by Maria F DeBlassie is definitely an interesting read. I am not sure what I expected, but it was not what I thought it could be. It is a collection of thoughts and musings and the insightful view of the world by one woman. It seemed as if a thought popped into her head, then that would be the direction it took off in, and so on.
So lock away the hubby and kids, shut off the phone and find a quiet place for reflection upon the weird and wonderful musings of Maria. It is one read where you need to devote the time, like a meditation almost, as it soothes and calms emotions.
Claimed Royalty: (Crowned and Claimed Series, Book 1) by Betty Shreffler is a fantasy romance story that is refreshing and new, exciting and sexy, sweet and tempting and it captures you from the very beginning. What a great start to this series. Betty sets a scene and a world that is easily imaginable and descriptive and in my minds eye, majestic. The characters are imagined as being real and whole. This is an adventure and a journey where I was swept away and often on the edges of my seat. In this new world we see a Princess who is proving she is fit to be the next Queen. Where she must choose a suitor to become her King but will it be the man she loves? Will there be heartache on the horizon? Most of the characters I loved and some I hated with a passion, which goes to show how well written they are.
However, there are several big twists, and the proverbial rug was ripped out from under everything I thought was going to happen. Agggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh! now I have to wait for the next book in the series to see what happens.

Dancing Queen is a funny and fabulous tale by Charlotte Roth. The story centres around Fiona. Now, Fiona has struggled with self image issues all her life. She loves to dance, but was cruelly told to reconsider due to her size. In a world where being a size zero is most women’s life goal, Fiona battled with herself every day. Fitting into this superficial world was hard for her. Her and her co-worker, Stu, join a dance competition, and the rest is a beautiful tale of self discovery, self worth, self belief, hard work, conquering seemingly impossible hurdles, and courage. Lots and lots of courage.
As a person who has had a lifelong battle with weight, I totally related to Fiona and her struggles. A tale told beautifully and honestly. A story I cannot recommend enough. 5 stars.

WOW! I loved this book more than I thought I was going to! Dig Two Graves is a crime thriller written by Keith Nixon. Set in England 10 years after Detective Sergeant Solomon Gray’s 6-year old son Tom disappears at a fair. Gray goes to a crime scene that involves a 16 year old boy who appears to have committed suicide. But for some reason, he has Gray’s phone number in his mobile. Gray can’t help but compare this boy to his son. There are so many coincidences and so many plot twists that it made this book quite entertaining. I couldn’t put the book down! This book is also an emotional rollercoaster! It will have you on edge and the next you will need a box of tissues! This is definitely a book made for crime series readers! I’m so happy to have found this author and I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!

I had no idea what to expect from this book but I liked it. The Inheritance: The Story of an Unlikely Submissive is written by India Kells. This story follows Lani Mackay. She loses the only relative she has left, her uncle. Her uncle Emile Mackay was a bastard and wouldn’t help her financially even though he had plenty to spare because she decided to pursue her passion instead of get a regular 9 to 5 job. However, he did put her in his will and advised that she must complete some tasks before she is allowed her inheritance. These tasks must be approved by an old associate named Max Langdon. She was able to convince Max to take this on but she didn’t know what to expect. Turns out Max is a Dominant. Even though Max is quite a bit older than her she learns to submit to him. This book is really quick but super hot! I loved this book and could not put it down! Lani is feisty and strong willed. Max is closed off and stubborn. These two together have an amazing connection. I can’t wait to read more from this author!

I just want to hug this book, the heroine, this author. This fun and inspirational read had me on the best kind of emotional rollercoaster. The main character, Fiona, is heartfelt and relatable. I was immediately pulled into this story and couldn’t walk away without finishing the book in full. Loved it from beginning to end and cannot wait to go back and reread this tale. Just wonderful!

This paranormal romance is a page turner from beginning to end. The fourth installment in the series, it is best appreciated read in the order presented. Birmingham continues to provide the reader with such a rich universe with complex, detailed characters. I truly felt myself completely immersed into this universe and was only disappointed when the story came to its final page. Well written and highly enjoyable, this book and series is one that is recommended.

I really enjoyed this festive heartwarming Christmas story. It was a short read so I was able to get through it in a few hours. It is an emotional and sweet read and I just loved Connor. He has suffered a significant loss and he is doing his best to move on with his life. This is the first Christmas he has had to without his mom. I also like all of the other characters. The emotions are high but luckily he has wonderful friends by his side. This author has an amazing writing style and I am looking forward to reading more by her! I would recommend it to a friend

What She Lost and Found by M. L. Garcia is a four star novel. I really enjoyed digging into the life of Daniela. At first, it is a big secret about what happened to Daniela before she started college. Some of the information that comes out and in the amount of detail it is in, could be triggering for some readers. Please be advised of this. When the situations surrounding Daniela’s trauma emerges, we begin to understand why she acts the way she does and surrounds herself with very few people. She changed her major to make her life not as out in the open. She doesn’t even know how she might be able to move on or heal from the tragedies. Maybe finding someone to fill her love life will lead her to healing. But she isn’t sure she can open herself up to love.

I like stories that pack a lot in them but are short and sweet. The author gave us a taste of the good and the bad. Almost like she was pulling you in and tempting your darkest thoughts. I really liked how Lani challenged Max and didn’t just give in. This story was like come take a look and imagine this is you and think of what you would truly do in this moment. We never know the answer until you’re really faced with that moment. I definitely found myself wanting there to be more chapters. I really enjoy the flow and characters in this story.

It’s always difficult to believe in yourself when there are so many people trying to bring you down. Summer never wanted to be her true self and that made her weak. She didn’t really know herself and gave into the hype that normal was better. I really like this author and this story was very spellbinding. The characters were made to grow and didn’t have their life together. They were also relatable because they had similar life events that many couples face. I liked Jerry because he was skeptical of Summer’s stories but never really called her out on it.

WHAT SHE LOST AND FOUND by M.L. Garcia is a book I went into blind. I didn’t look at the cover or know what the story was about.
From the very beginning of the story, I was invested in the female protagonist and her journey. What a journey it is.
The story is told mainly in present time in a single POV. There is quite a lot going on and at times it was so over the top that I rolled my eyes.
I did enjoy the friendships that developed throughout the story. The honesty of several of the characters is refreshing and the fact that it is not overly sexual means I could recommend it to my younger cousins as a cautionary tale.

The Inheritance is a standalone novel that is full of steamy romance. Lani is offered a chunk of her uncle’s wealth in his will if she will complete certain tasks. She is to ask his former business associate, Max, to help her. The two form an unlikely bond that leads them to discover not only things about each other but themselves as well. These two main characters change and develop greatly in a short period of time. The author did an amazing job in their creation and also on the setting for the story. I found it easy to imagine. This was an excellent quick read.

Happily. Ever After?: An Italian Relationship by Gaia B Amman is the sixth book in The Italian Saga series. Leda’s story continues in this book. This time she is in a relationship with Sergio. The two are opposites. He wants Leda to himself and she is smart and sees a great future for herself. This is a great story about relationships and finding confidence and strength in your voice. I have read one other book in the series and at times I was missing information but overall can be read as a standalone book. The read is quick and very descriptive. I really enjoyed and look forward to catching more by Gaia Amman.

Dig Two Graves is the first book in the Solomon Grey series by Keith Nixon. This thrilling crime drama had me hooked from the very first page. This is the first book I have read from this author, but it definitely won’t be the last. This book was dark and dealt with a lot of different issues, kidnapping, suicide, depression and a bunch of killings. The way the author kept me guessing until the end on what happened to Solomon’s son was excellent. I haven’t read many crime novels in the past couple of years but I really enjoyed this one, and look forward to reading more in this series.

Blade’s Edge was a great 5 star read and book 10 in the Satan’s Devils MC series.
I became an adult with a hatred of authority, and a deep suspicion of women. I didn’t trust either.
This is Blade’s story, he is the enforcer for the MC and we get a look into his past and get to know the man much better and discover what drove him to want to be an enforcer, I found myself pulled in by him.
Blade and the prospect end up running off what they thought was a hungry vagrant. But fate would bring this woman back into his life and cause him to reveal a secret he’s held for over 18 years. What is it about this woman?
Tash is running for her life, the best way to stay out of sight is to live on the streets. This is where she meets Tommy, and what a big sweetheart he was. When Tash and Tommy are attacked, Tommy goes to the people that Tash told him helped her, Enforcer and Prospect.
Can Blade and the MC help Tash? Or will they end up taking her back to the man she is fleeing from?
There is so much more to this great read. All of the characters were great and I loved Tommy so much, I know someone like Tommy and I understood him so much. All of the MC’s guys were great with him as well even though they are tough as nails bikers. Tash and Blade were great as well, she was perfect for him once he let her in. I have to say this is my favorite from this series so far and I look forward to reading more. Please give me more Tommy. This is a must read series.

Surviving Valencia by Holly Tierney-Bedord is a read that had my emotions all over the place. This book has so much in it. The death of college-age twins rocks a family. How will they recover? The younger sibling has to find her place in the world. The writing is well done and the characters were written well. I really enjoyed this story and how it alternated between the past and the current day. This added to the story by explaining the past and how it fits into the current day. There were twists and turns, some that I did not expect. Overall, I recommend this for a read.
Coming Home: Book 2 in the Flowers in December Series by Jane Suen 4 out of 5 stars This sweet “coming home” story is one for the aching heart. Connor is back home for the holidays. He is honoring his mother and the memories he had with her. Coming home is his way of coming to terms with her passing and his grieving process. Along the way, he re-acquaints himself with forgotten friends and even a possible new love interest. And of course, a new tabby cat…named Tom. This book made me cry. Not many books will make me full on ugly cry, but this one truly pulled at my heart strings. This story will break your heart into pieces, just to put it back together again. I highly recommend this to anyone and everyone. You will love this.

This book pays homage to the simple everyday things that we often take for granted. I loved Maria DeBlassie’s viewpoint on these things. The way she describes a very simple activity makes it seem so special and important. She did described each scene so well that I could totally imagine what she was talking about.
