Temptation and Seduction by L.M. Mountford – Review by Liz Vrchota

Temptation and SeductionTemptation and Seduction by L.M. Mountford
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Well hot darn this little collection of stories sure is one steamy and seductive set! I haven’t had the pleasure of reading anything from LM Mountford prior to this but I must say I am looking forward to finding some more of her novels asap and devouring them as well. I would call this bedside table reading. Only for myself at least, because I really struggle to maintain the my emotions while reading so this one is one to devour in my own private world. It is erotic literature and I would say my only sadness was that the stories were so short. Some had some wonderful potential to be a full length novel but may have come off a bit rushed because they were shortened novellas. There are six different stories that range a wide area as well; everything from paranormal romance to the forbidden love, and more taboo topics. There is certainly something for everyone.

Just Once:
This is the crazy love adventure between Terry and Faye, childhood friends that have denied their feelings for one another for a long time. Will they ever be able to be more than just friends?

Valentine Misadventure:
This one is for the Mafia fans… We meet Sophie, a mafia princess who finds herself in situations she never saw coming one Valentine’s day. I rather enjoyed this one and this was one I wish could have been just a bit longer.

Play Time:
James, a college student, finds himself in a sexy situation with the new girl, Timandra. There was a lot of different elements to this one between the school itself and the interactions between James and Timandra. I wish this one could have been expanded as well.

Stepdaddy’s Bad Girl:
This one falls under the taboo yes so skip it or don’t read it if it’s not your cup of tea. Personally, it isn’t something I am into but I surely loved reading it. This had the right amount of everything that managed to pull off the topic without being tacky or just plain gross, not an easy job to do sometimes. Ultimately we meet Eric with one roudy stepdaughter. He has some ideas of how to put her in line but he knows this task will not come easy, then again that is half the fun right?

Sweet Temptations:
This novel brings us Richard and his family. Richard has it all, the wife and kid etc. But there are some temptations that he is struggling to resist, like the young babysitter for instance. How will he handle it all and manage to keep everything he holds dear close?

Sweet Temptations: The Boss’s Daughter:
This is a continuation/new storyline with Richard again. Only, in this story his major temptation is definitely not the babysitter. Rather, the boss’s daughter. What trouble will Richard find himself in?

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1) by KG Fletcher – Review by Kerry Baker

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts, #1)Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series. This book is about two childhood friends finding each other, and their way.
I found this book to be so emotional. The author does an amazing job at creating a very real connection between you, the reader, and the characters. It felt like I was living every single emotion that they were each feeling.
The story carries this level of emotion well. It doesn’t take away from it but it also doesn’t let it down. It is well written and so engaging.
This author always seems to know how to write a good book and so far this is my favourite. I am looking forward to the next in the series.

MaddJax boxed series by Deborah Ann is a second chance love story that will be sure to grab your attention! This is exactly the kind of book I always love and this one is easily one of the best.
Right from the word go I really felt like this author too me on a journey. You were pulled in all directions with the emotions and the drama. You never quite knew which direction you might find yourself in next.
The chemistry between Maddison and Jaxon was electric. You could feel it in each and every page. This is a brilliant series and one I would highly recommend.

Problematic Love (Rogue Series Book 8) by Lara Ward Cosio – Review by Liz Vrchota

Problematic Love (Rogue Series Book 8)Problematic Love by Lara Ward Cosio
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Problematic Love is the eighth novel in the Rogue Series from Lara Ward Cosio, and I would have to say these just keep getting better and better with each book. They could be read as standalones if you really wanted to but I would highly recommend that you go back and start at the beginning with Tangled. The stories do have recurring characters and it is kind of like visiting friends each time you pick up a new one in the series. I just know that you will fall in love with the entire group.

In Problematic Love, Danny Boy’s story continues on a bit in the sense that we now find Amelia and him searching to find their footing in this new relationship that they have managed to forge. When roadblocks come up will the couple’s love be strong enough to withstand it? There is also updates in this book about past fav characters that I adored… maybe even some more angles for new novels to come? I sure can hope! I can’t wait to see whatever it is that Lara Ward Cosio gives us next!

Death and the Crone: Book Three of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie – Review by Chantelle Smith

Death and the Crone: Book Three of the Lucky Devil SeriesDeath and the Crone: Book Three of the Lucky Devil Series by Megan Mackie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Death and the Crone is Book 3 in The Lucky Devil Series. After reading the previous two books in the series I was more than happy to get the follow on book, but this one intrigued me even more as the storyline and the characters are not something that you would usually put together in a supernatural/fantasy read.
But nonetheless, this book was just as interesting, captivating and packed full to the brim. The storyline was easy to follow, the characters are well developed and it was an enjoyable book from start to finish.

This author definitely has a creative writing style that’s captivating and enjoyable in every way, and I continue to enjoy her reads every time. I highly recommend this read and look forward to what else is to come from this series.

Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Karyn Taylor

Next Door Knight (Man's Best Friend #2)Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Next Door Knight is the 2nd book in the Man’s Best Friend series by Nicole Flockton. Each book in this series can be read as a stand-alone. I had not read the first book in the series before reading this one, in fact, I hadn’t read any of this author’s work so was unsure what to expect. I was very pleasantly surprised.
Next Door Knight is a contemporary romance that will pull at your heartstrings. Caleb Bradshaw is an airman on medical leave after an accident that left him badly injured and his K9 partner Trigger dead. The last thing he needs is his neighbour’s dog continually finding her way through the fence into his garden.
Kerry Williams is having a tough time in life. She’s recently come out of a long term relationship with a very controlling partner, she’s now got a new job, she and her therapy dog Willow work at a veterans centre and she looking after her father who has broken both legs. Last thing she needs is the distraction of the hot new guy next door but Willow has other ideas.
This is a lovely story where a therapy dog brings 2 broken people together and makes them re-examine their lives. It has to be said that cute corgi, Willow, with her sassy wiggle is a scene stealer and is adored by everyone. This book is well written and has characters that are interesting and drag you into their story. The 2 main characters are both badly broken and their journey together is compelling. I really enjoyed this book and would definitely recommend it to others.

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1) by KG Fletcher – Review by Heather Mize

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts, #1)Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Run to the Sea is a book about second chances. Thomas or “Cappy” leaves the little home town where he was born and raised leaving behind his family and his best friend Emeline. His family was not happy about him leaving town to go to college in New York to become an architect. Emeline and Cappy were best friends and thick as thieves growing up. When Cappy up and left he left Emeline behind as well even ignoring her many letters that she sent him. Years later Cappy’s beloved grandfather passes away leaving him his house. Cappy comes back to his home town area to decide what to do with his life. His life in New York is definitely not what he thought it would be. Once in town he reconnects with Emeline who has certainly grown up and has secrets of her own. Is this the second chance they both want? What happens when old hurts comes to the surface? I really enjoyed this book and feel like it was really well written.

That’s a Wrap (Paranormal Talent Agency Book 3) by Heather Silvio – Review by Naomi McDonald

That's a Wrap (Paranormal Talent Agency, #3)That’s a Wrap by Heather Silvio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

That’s A Wrap is the third book in the Paranormal Talent Agency Series. It can be read as a standalone, however there are characters from the previous books mentioned. I suggest reading the previous two anyway because they are awesome!

I really enjoyed Mia’s character. She’s got a really good heart and she’s brave. I’m a bit irritated with the Liz character but I’m assuming her actions are going to be pivotal for the upcoming stories. It felt like there was less romance in this one, but what there was really drew you into the budding relationship between Mia and Jacob. Overall, superb reading experience.

This series is definitely one I will keep an eye on. I’m looking forward to when the next book comes out!

Trickster’s Hunt (Three Tricksters Book 1) by Carrie Whitethorne – Review by Bobbi Wagner

Trickster's Hunt (Three Tricksters #1)Trickster’s Hunt by Carrie Whitethorne
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I enjoyed this book. It is original, creative and engaging. Parts got to be a little wordy but it kept me reading for the most part. The characters are fun, steamy and connectable. Maia was my favorite, she is nineteen but seems older with the way she talks. She goes to London for a contest when all of a sudden three guys just start appearing around her. What happens when she realizes that things or her new friends are not as normal as they seem? I highly recommend this book.

Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Shannon Fowler

Next Door Knight (Man's Best Friend #2)Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There is just something about military stories…they always hit me right in the heart. This is the first book for me by this author and so glad it won’t be the last! Next Door Knight is a super cute story and is the second in the Man’s Best Friend series. Next Door Knight can be read as a stand-alone, as I had no idea there was one before this. Flockton has a writing style that kept me entertained, enthralled and completely charmed.

“Changing your whole life is a big decision to make. Thinking that’s what you want to do isn’t the way to go. You have to want it. You have to know” —she placed her hand over his heart— “deep in here, that what you’re doing is what’s best for you. Your mind will convince you that you should do. But your heart will let you know if it’s the right decision.”

The human characters were easy to read about and easy to fall for. The fur characters were just as much fun to read about.

This is a story that is definitely one worth reading.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Tainted Saint (Hawke Family #5) by Gwyn McNamee
5 out of 5stars
Tainted saint is the fifth book in the Hawke family series written by Gwyn McNamee. I have read quite a few book written by Ms. McNamee and I have read every book in this great series. Ms. McNamee writing is exceptionally good, the plot sucks you in from the first page and keeps you fully engrossed until the last page. Her characters are well developed and amazing we even get to see some characters from the first four books and we see what they are up to.
We met Saint aka Solomon Clarke and Caroline in previous stories in this series. Saint works security for Savage & Gabe in the clubs & Caroline a reporter & Dani’s best friend. Saint thinks he isn’t good enough for Caroline & she worries about the fall-out of hooking with Saint. So after lusting after each other they find themselves at masquerade party it affords then the anonymity to pursue their attraction.
She thinks he doesn’t know who she is under the mask and with his size and build you couldn’t not know who he is.
From the second he lays his eyes and hands on her, she is helpless to resist him and she can’t erase the memory of their combustible connection and one night together. Will she take a chance on Saint after their one night? Will Saint openly pursue Caroline and screw the consequences? You will need to read this amazing story/series…..
I highly recommend this awesome book….

Impact (Twisted Hearts Love Story Book 4) by Autumn Sand
4 Stars

This is Manny’s story, a playboy boss of club Pulse. At the beginning of the book, we see a scared little boy not understanding his mother’s death. This event changed the course of his life. From then on out, it is one disaster after another with Manny fighting to survive. After all the life and death situations he has been in, he should be dead but he somehow survived. The story is written with continual flashbacks to his younger days but these are crucial to understanding the story and how all the characters are connected.

From a young age he fell into a life that should have killed him yet he managed to get out. But do you ever really get out? Somehow he always got caught up in a mess. I felt bad that Manny could never catch a break. There has been only one light in his life and even their relationship was tumultuous. There is a saying, “Anything worth having is worth fighting for”. Manny fought long and hard his whole life but is it too late to put the pieces back together?

This story is filled with so many twists and turns it will have your head spinning. This is another fantastic book in the Twisted Hearts series. Autumn Sand is an amazing author who can write riveting stories that will leave you breathless.

The Vampire Queen (Wheel of Crowns #3)
By Brandi Elledge
Rated 5 stars!!!

First of all…..Did you see that gorgeous cover!? If not take a sec. I’ll wait. Go back up and have a look! Dazzlingly Beautiful right? I Love…love…Loved this story! I have been waiting for Stephens story since we met him in the first book! I was NOT disappointed! His and Tandi’s story was perfect! I love her for him! Her sass and determination along with the way she irritates Stephen. He is always Mr Cool but there is that fire in his eyes that she seems to bring out. Usually I favor the male in the story. But Tandi is pretty high up there as well.

Tandi’s thoughts on Stephen are hilarious! I love what goes on in her brain. I can easily hear her talking in all her sarcasm in my head. I sometimes wish I could listen in on Stephens thoughts through this process. I can only imagine what would go on in his brain!

This is as full of wonderful characters as the other two in the series. I enjoy the evil ones because I never know what they are going to do next! I’m talking to you Akeldama! But there are many others that put a smile on my face and happiness in my heart.

These books just keep getting better and better! I don’t even want to put this one down!! This is one of my favorite series of the year! Next please!!

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 by Manda Mellett

5++++++ Stars

Oh my goodness I am so in love with this new Colorado Chapter of the Satan’s Devils…Don’t get me wrong I love the mother chapter in Tucson as well but for some reason this new series has me completely hooked.

Demon’s story actually started in Paladin’s story and it was a great way to start this new series and I couldn’t wait to read this book. Once again I was not disappointed.

When Demons best friend died he made a promise to watch over his little sister and he had done that for years staying out of sight so that Violet never saw him. Once she grew up and seemed like her life was good, Demon felt like his promise had been fulfilled, but all of a sudden she reappears in his life when so many changes had happened for him in his own personal life and his status in the MC. Her reappearance brings back so many memories and also comes with her own drama and not to mention a son. Demon remembers the promise he made her brother and intends to keep that promise no matter how she makes him feel.

This authors writing is in a class of its own and no matter what I’ve read of hers I get totally lost from page one in this world she has created and I always feel like I’m right there with these amazing people. I loved Demon in the first book he appeared in and I love him even more now and I think that one of my favorite characters in this book has to be Hell and I have to recommend that you read the first in this new series definitely before you read this one…There’s so so much that ties together with these books.

Now I simply must know who the next book is about, we got no hints at the end and it’s driving me crazy!! I also can not wait for the next book in the mother chapters series…This author is Amazing…read all these books, I promise you won’t be sorry!

That's a Wrap (Paranormal Talent Agency, #3)That’s a Wrap by Heather Silvio
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

That’s a Wrap by Heather Silvio a five-star read that will make you see stars, the stars in Hollywood that it. This is the third novel in the paranormal talent agency and each one gets better than the last. Its like catching up with old friends, seeing what they have gotten up to while you have been away the weekend. The sparks are electric when Mia meets Jacob and usually electricity and water, I wouldn’t recommend but somehow these pair make it work, it could be the fact that Jacob is super-hot and funny when he wants to be. I only wish that we got to sink our teeth into him more, but Mia more than makes up for it.

Impact (A Twisted Hearts Love Story book 4)Impact by Autumn Sand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Impact is a Twisted Heart Love Story by Autumn Sand. This story pulled the heartstrings, that’s for sure. Manny grew up on the wrong side of the tracks. Done things just to survive. Hardened himself because he thought he was not deserving of happy. He was on on a path of self destruction, and it broke my heart to witness the struggle within. His love was endless. He just had to realise his self worth.

Impact left me with a heavy but elated heart. Manny’s story was moving heartache. It was also beauty. Intense beauty. So much happened. Then it ended. Was not ready to reach it, but was thrilled to capture the whole entire brilliance that was his story. 5 stars.

Run to the Sea (Reigning Hearts Book 1)
By KG Fletcher

Run to the Sea is book one in the Reigning Heart series by KG Fletcher. What we have in this book is a wonderful second chance romance with the storyline centering around Emeline and Thomas. Emeline and Thomas before entering college had spent most of their summers together. What I liked about Emeline and Thomas is that I found both of their characters to be strong. How ever they both have gone down different paths in their lives which becomes apparent in how they are together and in the choices that they are making. I absolutely loved how this book came together and it didn’t take long to fall in love with the main characters. This is the type of story that in some places will pull on your heart strings and pull you right into the book with in the first few pages. I really do recommend this book and if the rest of the series is like Run to the Sea then I can’t wait to see what we have coming next.

Carrie is a mum.  An author.  A creator of worlds. A dreamer.  A friend.

At her childhood home in Yorkshire, Carrie was encouraged to utilize her imagination, to see things for what they could be, and to ask the question “what if?”  Her mum introduced her to worlds filled with magic: Barrie, Lewis, Tolkien, Blyton.  That magic evolved and continued to inspire her when she discovered Rowling and Sanderson.  They all asked the question and explored the possibilities, opening doors to new adventures that would forever change generations to come.

Even as a child, Carrie preferred creative outlets and writing.  But as an adult, she had not yet had that moment of inspiration to begin writing a novel of her own.  That all changed one normal morning, on a normal walk to school, when a small boy slipped from the pavement and on to the road.  There was no accident. No horror.  Just a near miss that later formulated into one question: what if he was able to save himself?  Fuelled by this question and Carrie’s love of fantasy, European folklore, and mythological creatures, The Riftkeepers emerged.  This world answered her question.  The series gave birth to characters that took on a life of their own, many telling continued stories in novellas and spinoffs.

Linda Burson, a native of Pennsylvania, but long time Connecticut resident, has been writing ever since she was given a writing assignment in school, at the age of eight. Later, as a teenager, she started out writing memoirs and attempted several nonfiction pieces.

After attending college, she worked in positions where she edited papers for others. She spent time pursuing other interests, and traveling. Much of Linda’s free time was spent reading mysteries, romance, and women’s contemporary novels.

After several attempts at writing nonfiction, but having life get in the way, she put her passion on hold again. She gave up writing to focus on raising her daughters, being a wife, running her own custom computerized embroidery business and taking care of her dog, a Lhasa Apso named Nathan.

After a serious bout of breast cancer, Linda eventually closed down her business after almost fifteen years. She decided it was time to attempt writing again. This time, however, with nothing to distract her, she decided on tackling fiction, a contemporary, commercial romance with a dark edge.

In January, 2013, she sat down with her laptop and started writing the first chapter. After a few more chapters, she began keeping notes about the details of her characters so she wouldn’t forget the important characteristics. The writing continued, and never stopped. Before she was aware of it, her idea of a single book turned into a trilogy, which turned into a much longer series called the MARCY SERIES. There are a total of 13 books in the series.

When asked about inspiration, Linda has this to say: “Nobody really inspired me to write, but I do remember my mother and father always saying ‘anything you put your mind to you can accomplish. Don’t ever let anyone tell you, you can’t do something.’ Having the support and encouragement of my family is also important.”

Linda is now in the process of writing a Contemporary Women’s Fiction novel. Also, in the works is another Romance Suspense. She is also editing Book 9 in the MARCY SERIES, which at this moment is titled, Forgivable Revenge.

Wild Bastard by India Kells is the third book in the Dark Sparrow series. I haven’t read the others in the series so there are some things I’m sure would make more sense if I had read them, but this could be read as a standalone.

The third brother to get a book is Kai. He is a strong alpha who was once brought to his knees by a woman but he’s determined not to let that happen again. He is stuck somewhere in the middle of the past and now when he sees her.

Isabel has become a successful owner of a PR firm which has really taken off in the last couple of years. She’s approached by Jamison Finch to help him but is this a good idea or will she be working with the devil.

I really liked the relationship between Kai and his brothers. Even though they weren’t raised together they have a good relationship. Looking forward to going back to read the first two while waiting for the next one to be released.

Next Door Knight (Man’s Best Friend Book 2) by Nicole Flockton – Review by Felicia Bates

Next Door Knight (Man's Best Friend #2)Next Door Knight by Nicole Flockton
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Next Door Knight is the first book I’ve read in Nicole Flockton’s Man’s Best Friend Series. I wouldn’t categorize myself as a dog lover but there was something about this story that was really appealing.
Next Door Knight is a sweet, light hearted read with characters that will steal your heart.
I felt like the story was well written and easy to follow with great character development and several moments that made me smile.
I would definitely be open to reading more in this series and more work from Nicole Flockton in general.

Four Stars

I love stories like this. The author gives you characters that seem unlikely but to perfect. I love stories that puts a person in a group of people that love and wish them well. The characters were all well written. The author plotted the details together so well. I was entertained from beginning to end.

Wild Bastard: A Dark Sparrow Novel by India Kells

Four Star

The past should always stay in the past. The author made some valuable points in this story. Izzy has built herself so many shields its hard to find a soft moment. Her past was tough and you see that throughout the story. Kai has a hard yet soft personality. I do wish that the author would’ve given her more soft moments. The characters all sound great and the need for help is apparent in every word. I liked how the author built you up to the climax. Over all a fun story to read. The series of books have been a treat.

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2
by Manda Mellett

This book is full of twists and turns, action, and so much more. This is Demon’s and Violet’s story and I loved how their story drew me in and kept me on the edge of my seat. There are definitely some tough and dark things going on in this story. There is also the closeness and support of the club and it feels like family. It is my suggestion that you read the first book in this series so you have a better back story of Demon and his parents. I also thoroughly enjoyed reading the first book and I am very happy to report that this book is just as awesome. I cannot wait to read the next one. I highly recommend this book.

Wild Bastard: A Dark Sparrow Novel By India Kells. I honestly can’t stop thinking about this amazing story. Once again this author took me on quite the adventure with the words and characters put before me. You can read this story as a stand-alone without any confusion but I highly recommend the others as well. I love a story with suspense and this one definitely kept me on my toes. The characters are complex and well written as well as the storyline. The pace of the book flowed nicely and never felt rushed or lacking. The author does a wonderful job of writing a story with every detail coming alive before your eyes. Couldn’t put this one down, five stars all the way.

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC (Colorado Chapter) #2 by Manda Mellett – Review by Jana Teppih

Demon’s Angel: Satan’s Devils MC is the second book in Manda Mellett’s Colorado Chapter series. I could not wait for it after I finished the first of the series. I have to confess, my MC heart lives with Colorado Chapter now! AND while it is the Colorado Chapter book, we still get to hang out with some of the mother chapter guys as well! Double happiness!
We have Demon, the new president (and the former president’s son). He is what you want your president to be! Strong, 100% alpha (and sexy but that is for our benefit not for the club’s) … he is taking charge and he wants to make things happen! And then there is Violet, our fierce single mother who was in love with her older brother’s best friend, Demon … Her brother is no longer there, 10 years has passed since he died and Demon has fallen down on his promise to his MC brother, to protect his little sister, and now Violet is bringing her desperation and fight to Demon’s doorstep!
I love the way the writer brings the MC world alive for us! She takes us deep into that world and with each book she keeps peeling back the layers! Please keep going as we will keep begging for more!
