Arrows Tipped with Honey (Natural Forces Book 2) by Jean Gill – Review by Angela Hayes

Arrows Tipped with Honey (Natural Forces #2)Arrows Tipped with Honey by Jean Gill
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Arrows Tipped With Honey is the second book in the Natural Forces series by Jean Gill. As this is my first read from Ms. Gill, I really didn’t know what to expect from her writing. But the premise intrigued me, as did the cover. So, I took a chance and grabbed myself a copy. I didn’t initially register that this is book two to a continuing series, but a short way into the story I realised- and so I closed and set aside this book while I went back to read book one, first. So, if you haven’t read book one yet, I highly recommend reading that story before embarking on this book. This story continues from book one, so there is a lot of important information, backstory, and character details in the first book- which will enhance your appreciation and enjoyment of this story.
This is a very original and imaginative YA fantasy adventure story- with action, drama, political intrigue, magic, danger, and a little romance. There’s a bit of a dystopian feel to this fantasy- and it’s all brought to life by Ms. Gill’s superb world-building abilities.
It is a wonderfully detailed and descriptive story- so much thought, skill, heart, and soul was put into the creation of this book. Reading was more like ‘watching’ everything unfold, as the imagery was so well crafted. From the characters, to the scenery, and all the other captivating details, I could see and ‘feel’ it all.
There were emotive elements, as well as times when I was held in suspense wondering how things would play out. I read the two books back to back and enjoyed every minute. The ending has me clamouring to get my hands on Book Three ASAP!
Fantastic!

Thank you, Jean Gill!
