Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms Book One) by Allison West – Review by Michelle Austin

Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms Book 1)Her Billionaire Daddy by Allison West
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms #1) by Allison West was a great 5 star read.
I was pulled in right from the beginning and couldn’t put it down.

Who would have thought doing a favor for his sister would bring Martin face-to-face with someone from his past? Someone that might just be able to help him with a dilemma he is having.

When Martin see’s Samantha she is very familiar to him, then he realizes who she is. For years Samantha had a crush on Martin and was his sister’s best friend. She is now a popular romance writer. Martin has a reputation of being a playboy and Samantha doesn’t want to be a notch on his bedpost. Martin has to find a wife to improve his reputation for an important work deal. Samantha is the perfect person and he is surprised and relieved at her answer to his question.

Can these two keep it professional and stick to the deal? Will they be able to make it through some very challenging times?

Overall I really enjoyed this book. There are several twists and turns and people trying to cause problems. All of the characters were great. The connection these two have was off the charts. We get some steamy moments as well. If you’re looking for a great steamy read and a great couple 1-click and get started on this hot series now. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

Shattered Reality (Summoned Book 1) by C.A. King, USA Today Bestselling Author – Review by Angela Hayes

Shattered Reality (Summoned Book 1)Shattered Reality by C.A. King
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Shattered Reality is the first book in the Summoned Series by C.A King. It is a fantastic story- entirely original, well written, and very clever. It is a modern retelling, based on the ancient story of Perseus and Medusa. Hello, she had me at Medusa- as I love the old myths. We are back in Knollville- where Ms. King has taken us before- so we know we are in for a paranormal treat right from the get-go!
There is more to Mudesa Black than meets the eye. The psychologist spends her days helping people solve their problems, all the while hiding her own demons from the world. On the surface, she may seem like she has an enviable life, but Mudesa has worked really hard to get where she is. With secrets that weigh heavily on her mind- her past impacts her daily life in a way she can’t seem to escape. She is forced to return to her hometown, when her parents are killed. It’s the very place she worked so hard to leave behind, and the place she never wanted to see again. There is more to the situation that meets the eye- but the past seems determined to snatch her future from her grasp.
My review may seem a little vague, but that is on purpose, as I don’t want to give anything away. This is the kind of story I really recommend going into somewhat ‘blind’ and letting the author, and story, surprise you.
This is a wonderfully twisted tale that definitely kept me entertained.
Another great read from Ms. King’s limitless imagination!

Thank you, C.A King!

Her Blackened Heart (The Blackened Series #2) by Isra Sravenheart

This was a great read. Sravenheart knows how to make a reader want more. This Paranormal will leave you wanting more.

Lady Isra is still in her tower cloaked to keep the humans away. When a gnome is caught snooping around she makes him her slave. He’s to be her eyes and ears for the humans. The quote I chose for Lady Isra is: “It sounds like you met the love and light brigade. They preach peace, love, and goodness. Oh, how it makes me want to vomit.”

Astrid, Lady Idea’s lover, is a raven. He can change into human form as that’s what Isra did for him. He wonders if there is something Lady Isra is hiding. The quote I chose for Astrid is: “I do not believe that, for I see love in you. It’s just shut away behind a great big wall that you have built up yourself. But I— am a raven, and ravens can fly over any wall you build, no matter how high or how wide.”

A highly recommend Paranormal read for anyone!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Brooke May is a go-to author for me, I have read numerous books by this author and each book hooks me within minutes and this one is no different. I was hooked with this storyline and these characters made this book was it is, entertaining, easy to read, captivating and a read you could read all over again. I absolutely loved Kennedy & Hunter’s connection, I loved watching them grow throughout the read and seeing how they begin to where they end up. The connection that grows between them brings true chemistry when they are together, and I loved seeing that grow. I couldn’t help but route for these two characters, with the all the emotions that you go through with young love, from the drama, and ups and downs that comes with it you couldn’t help but hope these two would come through the other side. I loved diving into this read, you will not be disappointed in picking this read up! I highly recommend this read and this author!

Rookie MovesRookie Moves by Tarrah Anders
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such a great short story!! Rookie Moves is a Quick Snap Novella by Tarrah Anders. Grant Toolson is the new rookie for the Seattle Seahawks. However, he is not making smart moves off the field. Constantly getting into trouble for something and the owners of the organization want him to change his ways. Emily is the mayor of Seattle’s daughter. She is under the constant eye of bodyguards and the city. She is a humanitarian for one thing and when she meets Grant while paring up together at a food bank she doesn’t think anything of it. However, when they meet at a charity dinner is when things kick off between the two. The chemistry between the two is amazing. They balance each other out and it really becomes a whirlwind romance. She calms him down and he lets her be wild and free. It really was a cute story even with the twists that come along with it. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves short stories and quick romances. Oh! And I absolutely love that Will Montgomery makes a cameo in this story too!

With such a sensitive topic of domestic abuse, this was written well and kept me reading. Logan gets a new neighbor, Lori and her daughter. When what Lori was hiding from finds her and she ends up in the hospital, the only one who knows the answers is her 3 year old, Logan ends up in the eyes of our bad guy.

I liked this story and the way it was written especially dealing with a hot topic, but the author did well with it and brought it awareness.

I so completely sincerely loved this book. It had a comfortable flow to it and I hated when it ended. After it ended and I thought about reading I was sad that I couldn’t open my kindle and go back into Harleigh’s world. I really can not wait to read this again in the near future.

My heart broke for Harleigh at the beginning of this story, and her family put it back together for me in the love and support they gave her. I was totally invested in this story about the time she arrived in Bulgaria. First I fell in love with the little town she was staying in and felt like I was there with her in the way this author described everything. Giovanni Russi might very well be up there in my favorite male leads… He was simply amazing even with his understandable trust issues. Then Lucca…Sigh…Harleigh was so blessed to meet these 2 and I can’t say enough about how these relationships were naturally born. They weren’t rushed and felt real in how they progressed both in different ways and for different reasons.

Towards the end as the twists and turns really blew up there were a few scenes that took my breath away and I had tears without even realizing.

I can not recommend everyone picking up this book enough, this was my first read by this author but I promise it will not be the last.

Many thanks to KM Lowe for an amazing story!!

This book lives up to its summary and doesn’t shy from a subject many would find risqué or taboo. The obvious aside, I found that the author provided a steady foundation with the story premise, establishing this book and subsequent series while generating interest in future editions. It was a steady read with some expected storyline cues and some surprises as well. Overall a good book. Meant for audiences over 18.

Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms Book 1)Her Billionaire Daddy by Allison West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Good story in what could be a great series. Author Allison West is new to me, so I am looking forward to watching her stories unfold and grow.

Her Daddy Billionaire is a story about friends helping each other with “a deal of a lifetime!” A story that is sure to give you a different view about “Daddy”.

I enjoyed this story but felt there were some unanswered questions in the end. Specifically, about Martin’s houseguest, I am not sure if I was supposed to like her or not, mostly I did not. And another character towards the end that causes trouble for the happy couple…just seems to me that there should have been more closure on that part. Leaves me wondering about the next book and what could possibly happen!

I enjoyed the mix of reality, busy working world and longing for a quieter life, with the fantasy of having a billionaire taking care of you. The few scenes in the club were mild for my taste but definitely enjoyable. Wish there had been more!

West writes with a style that is easy to read and follow, although there was a couple of times where the story was flowing but then it seemed like weeks or months had passed but there was no clear indication on time.

Overall a really good story. Will read more from this author!

I absolutely love sports romance but this author exceeded all my expectations. This book will get you hooked right from the beginning and you will not stop reading until the end. It only took me a couple of hours to devour this incredible book.

He is helping his community when he runs into the beautiful Emily. Grant can’t take his eyes off of her. He finds out that Emily is the mayor’s daughter and she is not who everyone thinks she is. VANISHING DAY (A Logan McKenna Mystery Book 4) by Valerie Davisson – Review by Jana Teppih

Vanishing Day: Logan Book 4 (The Logan McKenna Series)Vanishing Day: Logan Book 4 by Valerie Davisson
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Vanishing Day is the fourth book in Valerie Davisson’s Logan McKenna series. You probably could read it as a standalone as there are enough references so you would be able to follow the underlying storyline but I would suggest you start from the beginning!
This time, it gets very dicey! Logan gets on the way of an abusive husband of her young next door neighbour Lori who has escaped him with her little daughter and as she knows what he is capable of then she has information that she uses for leverage… In this story the writer is excellently addressing the sensitive issue of domestic/spousal abuse and if you are even slightly familiar with it then you know that it is not as ‘easy’ as Lori might hope thinking that this information might keep her and her daughter safe … There are twists and turns and at times you are gripping the edge of your seat and then … finally … you get to the end and release a sigh!
In addition to the main story line, Valerie gives us further insight into Logan’s relationship with her boyfriend Ben and their circle of friends. As always, we get the beautiful detailed descriptions of Oregon coast so you can simply close your eyes and picture it (for me, I felt like I was back there …). I wonder what ends up next on Logan’s plate.

I love the descriptive writing of J Drew Brumbaugh. He paints a beautiful picture and the scenes flow together. The characters in the story fit each one perfectly. I could not imagine them any other way. There is fantasy, action, magic, demons, prophecy, and some tough decisions. The story continues Grant’s story. It has been a few years and not Grant and his friends are back and on an adventure. This time there is a prophecy and it is an evil one at that. The fate of their world is not looking good. I highly recommend this story to see how Grant and his friends do with the prophecy.

I haven’t read the rest of the books in the series and would say this can definitely be read as a stand alone book.

I really enjoyed this book, it’s an entertaining, light-hearted read. It has a wonderful storyline that was a different take on the usual sporting romance themes.
The thing that made this story stand out for me was the characters. The female lead is strong, passionate, and isn’t afraid to chase her dreams. The chemistry between Kennedy and Hunter really kept me hooked. It wasn’t always smooth sailing for these guys, there’s plenty of challenges and drama that they faced throughout, but I was really rooting for them.

Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms Book One) by Allison West – Review by Liz Vrchota

Her Billionaire Daddy (Western Daddy Doms Book 1)Her Billionaire Daddy by Allison West
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was an interesting new read for me. I have read a few books by Allison West before but this one is definitely more of a special niche type read. I will say this book features an alternate, still relevant however, and erotic moments, as well as some Daddy/little play. This was done very tastefully however, even when parts did stray from a typical ethical daddy dom situation. I kept in mind that his book was written as a fantasy though and so it wouldn’t follow a handbook type guide. Her Billionaire Daddy is the first book in the Western Daddy Doms Series and really does set up the location and things for the whole series. We get the story of Martin in this one. He is a a man with a mission to fix his reputation. Things get interesting when Samantha promises to marry him under the idea it is a sham and temporary marriage meant to make his image better. There are layers to this story that are built perfectly and make so much sense but I can’t reveal because it would kill the twists and turns for you. I can say if you like niche romances with lots of steam and plenty of romance, this is for you. I will be interested to see what we will get from the next book in the series.

My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a lighthearted fun YA contemporary romance which had me hooked from the start. ‘Kickflip Summer’ is a real summer romance with great characters in a lovely setting which had me feeling completely immersed in this novel whilst reading it. Best friends Kara and Toby want one last summer of fun together before they both head of to University. The pair get jobs at Blue Oaks Theme Park and are determined to have fun as well as work. However, Kara did not expect to be attracted to her new boss, but she then comes to the conclusion that a quick summer fling can’t hurt. Bear was happy to spend the summer teaching kids skateboarding until his Dad insisted that he return home and get serious about his future. Bear is unhappy at the thought of working at Blue Oaks Theme Park until he meets new girl Kara who’s there working over the summer. Kara literally knocks Bear off his feet and then he’s hooked and decides that he can handle a summer romance. Having been bought together by chance, both Kara and Bear discover in each other something they didn’t know they needed. Suddenly the summer seems to be to short for the couple and they must decide if their summer romance is just that, or something more.
I loved this sweet romance and found the main characters very likeable and relatable, I was really hoping that Kara and Bear would get a happy ending. The storyline flows well and I like how the story is told from both Kara and Bear’s point of view and this made getting to know the characters easier. The wonderfully written narrative kept me happily turning the pages and the authors detailed descriptions really bought the setting alive, at times I felt as though I was in the theme park. A lovely romantic, enjoyable and engaging debut novel by Danielle Jacks.
