First off needles to say I FREAKING loves this book is a undestatment. As I was reading there was an instant connection to the characters as well as where the book was taking place…

with the world how it is in current times, i felt so much relation with times of covid..mistakes of others make us pay for how we live in the world we do now. it made me truly think if we changed things we did would we be in in the situations or reality we currently are?

The characters, they were not just characters you loved or hated you undestood them. and that doesnt alwasys happen in novels. you got to feel their feelings and thoughts and undestand why they are the way they are and how they choose to be based on their own experiences.

And to add this book was a true eye opener for survival. Not just physically in a world that can greatly change but mentall survive in the changing world for what it is.

The book was very captivaiting. It wasa book that greatly provided a great distraction for me. It really gave me a great read as well as great enterainment.

This is a novel worth picking up and reading. If your anything like me you will yearn for more and want to see what happens to the characters next!

Again it was an amazing read and I loved it truly!

Blue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor – Review by Jennifer Gordon

Blue Summer Part OneBlue Summer Part One by Everly Taylor
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I found this paranormal, fantasy romance both entertaining and engaging. The synopsis does not give much away so I was looking forward to getting immersed in the storyline and I was not disappointed. Lillie has grown up with hushed whispers about the blue skinned Zayed and has been taught to fear them. However, when she has an encounter with the Zayed she realises that the whispers and rumours are not true and changes her mind about them. When she is kidnapped by a sorcerer who believes she knows more than she does Lillie is taken deeper into the Zayed’s world. As she gets to know, Chief, Clay, Heath and Brian she discovers that she feels more at home in their world than in her own and has to figure out her role to save both herself and the Zayed community. This is a short, fast paced read with an exciting and original storyline which flows wells. The plot is full of drama, fantasy, romance, wit, and suspense all of which had me hooked from start to finish. The authors wonderful world building and descriptive narrative really bought the Zayed and their community to life and I fell in love with all the main characters. The cliffhanger ending has left me looking forward to book two.

Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler and Brooke Tentler – Review by Chrissy Spulak

Southland Academy for Supernatural YouthSouthland Academy for Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Southland Academy for Supernatural Youth by Sandra Tentler and Brooke Tentler is a 4 out of 5 star worthy read. This paranormal comedy for young adults is charming, witty, and just plain fun! The characters are animated and hilarious (a vampire who is afraid of blood? Come on!), and this story is very reminiscent of Harry Potter, to me. Your young readers, and even you, will fall in love with this rag-tag, supernatural bunch. The authors are a mother/daughter duo, and they have created something magical, and I very much appreciate the humor and color they use. This is an easy book to get through because it is entertaining and attention-keeping, and the writing is just as, if not more colorful, than the awesome cover of the book. I really hope these two continue to work together and produce more stories for us to enjoy. Especially about these characters!

Ever have a book that pulled you in so quickly that the next thing you know it’s going on one in the morning? Yeah, this book is one of those. I thoroughly enjoy a hot alpha male and boy Adam definitely fits the bill. Then there is Julia aka Jules. She is everything an alpha male could want. The chemistry between the two could set the pages to flame. There were several moments where I wanted to shake Adam so hard and tell him to get his head out of his butt. But I seriously enjoyed this book. Now I have yet another author to add to my one-click list.

CHAMELEON by Zoe Kalo – Review by Ashley Dover

ChameleonChameleon by Zoe Kalo
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

The definition of chameleon is changing one’s opinions, behavior, and appearance according to the situation. A chameleon is also a reptile that has protruding eyes and can change its color depending on its surroundings, mood, or temperature depending on the species.

Zoe Kalo’s Chameleon is a story of a Puerto Rican high school senior. Paloma has been asked to leave her previous school. This leaves her step-father and mother no other choice but to put her in a monastery school. Paloma is determined to just get through the next seven months without incident so that she can make her own way in life. As soon as she arrives, she is sucked into a group of girls that hold many secrets. Rubia is an orphan that has lived in the monastery since she was five years old, Silva has been at the monastery for three years, Maria’s mother abandoned her because she could not care for her, and Adelita’s parents were junkies.

Strange things have happened and continue to happen at the monastery after Paloma’s arrival. Can she solve the mystery of the ghost girl that Adelita speaks to? Can she save herself from becoming one of the dead when she reveals who the chameleon at the monastery is?

This story is a great story for teenage girls who enjoy mysteries. Some of the content would be more appropriate for teenagers above the age of 15 or 16.

Walker Pride (The Walker Family, #1)Walker Pride by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was the first time reading a book by this author but was a recommendation from a friend so I thought I would pick it up and give it a try. I’m glad that I did. While I didn’t immediately get into the story I am glad that I continued reading because it turned out to be a fantastic book. I expected it to be just a romantic story, but it contained quite a bit of suspense as well. The author did a really great job with the twists and turns she incorporated into this book and I found myself really wanting answers and the truth. The main characters are so different, yet so alike and meant for one another. I can’t wait to read the next installment in this family read.

Five Stars

The Devoted Fan is the fifth and final book in the 21st Century Courtesan Series by Pamela DuMond. Ms. DuMond is a go to author for me. This series is a wonderful mix of psychological thriller, romantic suspense and a giant dash of karma added in. This series must be read in order to get the full effect of the situations happening. The conclusion of this story, with its twists and turns, had me on the edge of my seat and reading long into the night. I just couldn’t put it down until I found out how it ended. Evie is a unique character and her empathy is amazing. I would highly recommend this book, series and author. I would give it TEN STARS if I could. I can’t wait to see what Ms. DuMond comes up with next!

What a well thought out dystopian tale! I found this read to be fascinating; especially, at a time like this! It really made you think about how would we, as a society, cope with something more devastating than Covid. I felt like I was learning how to survive as I read and that kept me reading. I had to know how the characters dealt with everything!

Growing closer to her might be a mistake.

Walker Pride (The Walker Family Series Book 1) by Bernadette Marie – Review by Melissa Agena

Walker Pride (The Walker Family, #1)Walker Pride by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This was a great book! I seriously can’t wait for the next book in the series! Walker Pride is book 1 in the Walker Family series by Bernadette Marie. Susan is trying to build her catering business up so she moves to Georgia. Eric is part of the Walker clan and basically just wants to be left alone to do what he always does, which is to take care of the land that he lives on. That is until a family member passes away and all hell comes to head. At the reading of the will, Eric stumbles upon Susan while she caterers this luncheon. She is a bit intriguing to him and he finds himself wanting to know more. Susan just got divorced not too long ago but Eric Walker is interesting and not to mention, pretty hot. I agree that this book was a little bit slow at first but quickly picks up and becomes a serious page turner! I loved the characters and the little bit of mystery with all the family secrets. This is definitely a book that I would recommend and will wait quite anxiously for the next book in the series!

Eye of the Storm (Gray Ghost #2)Eye of the Storm by Amy McKinley
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Eye of the Storm: A Gray Ghost Novel, Book 2 AUDIO by Amy McKinley was a story of romance. There is suspense in the story as well which makes it ten times better.

A soldier awakens deep in the untamed woods of the infamous Darien Gap. He has no recollection of who he is or why he is thereafter being injured until a gorgeous woman tells him his name. But can he put his faith in her? Mari Dias enlists Chris Shaw’s aid to flee a country dominated by the same family that pursues her in the jungle, where many sacrifice their lives but few survive. As Chris and Mari look for a way out of the forest, filters from his past begin to resurface in little doses. As they get closer, their adversaries become closer as well. Is he up to the task of battling the storm that threatens them all?

I loved every page of it. Each chapter was better than the next. I can’t wait to read the rest of the other books in this series.

Chameleon is a fabulous YA paranormal fantasy by Zoe Kalo. This story oozes with creepy vibes. The author has done a fantastic job of setting a chilling and ghostly tone to her story- which made for a great read.

Making friends was unexpected- and so the story begins, as we follow this band of quirky misfits through all the suspenseful details. Get set for a mysterious and supernatural ride that will have you flipping the pages to find out what the heck is going on and how it all comes together in the end.

Exhale and Move On AUDIO by KL Shandwick is a romantic story between two amazing characters. It is a M/M romance story.

When you’ve lived the wild rock and roll lifestyle that Rick Fars has, it’s no surprise that you’ve been there, done that, and in Rick’s case, most certainly left your T-shirt on the floor of some woman’s bedroom. Rick appears to be living the dream on the outside, but looks can be deceiving, and Rick’s life is considerably more complicated than most people think. Walker Pride (The Walker Family, #1)Walker Pride by Bernadette Marie
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This is a good story with A LOT going on.

Susan is following her dream and opening up her business in a new town. The last thing she needs in her life is a broody cowboy that she can’t seem to get off her mind. After her last relationship, she wants to protect her heart at all costs. But somehow the cowboy is finding his way in.

Eric works hard and keeps to himself. His family’s land is his world…and it is being threatened to be taken away from him due to Uncle’s bad decisions. One day he crosses paths with a woman that he can’t seem to stop thinking about. He is a loner, and he’s fine with that…but why Susan vacate his thoughts?!?

While Eric and Susan are dancing around their feelings for each other and their need to protect their own hearts…there is so much going on in the story. There is mystery…secrets that are going to blow your mind…a southern family filled with cowboys…and food that will make your mouth water!

I enjoyed reading this book. It is not my first book from this author…and it definitely won’t be the last. There is so much going on that I am looking forward to reading the next book. I am invested in this family now!

Walker Pride (The Walker Family Book 1) by Bernadette Marie is a western romance story.

Susan Hayes relocated to Georgia to start a new life and advance her catering business. Eric Walker and his family appeared in her life just as she was about to achieve all she had ever desired. Eric Walker’s life had been peaceful, orderly, and uninteresting until his uncle squandered away the family’s assets, putting Eric’s livelihood in jeopardy. He fell in love in the middle of family secrets being revealed, someone damaging his company, and someone attempting to force him off his farm. Things will never be the same for them again, especially if the Walker family is destroyed and Eric is killed.

A great story about a group of supernatural kids that aren’t like the others. Each one has something that makes them “different”. The kids band together to help each other try to work through their issues with their abilities and to solve a mystery. Someone is stealing personal items and they took Vlad’s family ring! They need to get it back before his dad finds out! Lily has a new familiar show up and Amber has a pet that isn’t what it seems. With everything going on the group becomes good friends along the way. I think this book would be an excellent choice for middle school aged kids!

The 21st Century Courtesan series has been a phenomenal journey. I have thoroughly enjoyed every book. I would highly recommend reading this series in order as it would be better enjoyed with all of the detail leading from book to book.

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this book after finishing book 4, I just had to know how everything was going to play out! I enjoyed all of the twist and turns of this story, the steamy moments, the insight into the many characters and of course the devoted fan letters.

As I reached the end, I felt as if the big scene at the end of the book fell flat. I had high hopes for the outcome and found that there just wasn’t enough detail for my liking. However, in saying that I did still thoroughly enjoy this series and would recommend it to others.

P.S. Dumond is a phenomenal author and this series is unlike any other.

Chameleon by Zoe Kalo is dripping with mystery that will thrill your socks off! 5 stars! I am a sucker for anything paranormal, and this story had me from the first line. This YA book follows Paloma, a teenager in Puerto Rico in the early 1970s, and her journey from a normal life to a convent for troubled girls. Paloma dabbles in the supernatural and holds a séance to contact her dead father. When she is caught, she is sent away. The characters are vibrant and the situations chilling and suspenseful. This book contains some heavy subject matter, but kept me intrigued the entire way through. I highly recommend picking up this book, as what happens to Paloma after holding a second séance in order to reach her father will give you the chills for sure! Author Zoe Kalo has outdone herself with this one, and I am eagerly looking for more from her.

This was a great story. I loved the 6 characters and their unique paranormal abilities. Amber, Vlad, Fiona, Sakana, Devlin and Lily are friends whom had different abilities from shifters, a witch, a vampire and even a werewolf :). These friends are learning how to use their abilities and go through the struggles like any adolescent student would, just the paranormal type. I loved the little bit of mystery included in the book as well. The story flowed and was truly a easy read. This book can be enjoyed by the young and old. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
