This more modern take on a wolf-meets-mate story is really quite entertaining. Tamara finds a “stray dog” and decides to keep him. Vets visits, dog food, collars and sleeping arrangements. These are just the “pet” hurdles they come across. How does a Wolf move from the”pet-zone” into mate territory? Josh has his work cut out for him. Tamara has been hurt before and doesn’t believe in forever. I do love that the story is realistic enough to deal with the possibility of rejection. A hot Wolf shifter, a beautiful mate, and the “stray” that brings them together. A great read!

This was a great 5 star read, once I started I didn’t want to put it down. The author does a great job with her writing, you feel like you’re right there with the characters.
Patience finally got the courage or should I say liquid courage to tell her best friend Duke exactly how she felt. It turned into a wonderful night between them….that is until morning and he was gone.
We jump ahead seven years, Patience made some not so great choices and had some heartbreaking moments and is now going through divorce. She hasn’t heard from Duke since he left. So when she comes face-to-face with him she is shocked to see him.
Duke knows the way he left things with Patience wasn’t great. Now that he has returned home he wants to make things right with her and maybe even pick up where they left off. He eventually convinces her to go on a date with him.
Can these two rekindle their friendship and possibly have more?
Overall I really enjoyed this book and the characters were great. I really liked both of them and I can’t wait to read more from this series. If you’re looking for a great 2nd chance romance this is the one for you. 1-click and get started today.

Nightfall by TK Lawyer was a decent read. I’m not sure if I just wasn’t in the right mood today or what, but this book just didn’t hit me right like I wanted it to. After reading the synopsis I was very interested, and I thought this would be a very interesting and good read. While it was well written and had me captivated throughout, I thought it was very strange. It seemed almost like a beastiality thing at the beginning? I knew it wasn’t, but I couldn’t help thinking that almost the entire time. That put me off big time with this novel. Other than that, this novel was well written and I enjoy the storyline once I got past that bit. It was probably just an off reading day for me and hopefully I’ll enjoy the next novel by Lawyer better!
I was drawn to Red Coat, just from the cover art. I have never read anything by Isobella Dunn, and this seems like it might be her first book, which is amazing. I loved this book. I got hooked in the first couple pages, reading about Sara and her teen troubles. We then come across Rachael, whose story seems to mirror Sara’s. I am a sucker for the pull at your heart strings stories of foster care. Rachael’s path and Sara’s intersect when she is caught running away from her foster home, and Sara is called in on the case. By the time it got to that point, I was hooked and couldn’t put the book down. Dunn has a great writing style, and I fell in love with most of the characters. I say most, because I didn’t love Colin- I found him a little pushy, but he also had a incredible sweet side. All the supporting characters played a big role, and the book was a good balance. There was a little bit of hoping for a happy ending for everyone, and sitting on the edge of your seat in fear of what is to come. It was a little more suspense filled than I expected, but I was not disappointed. Highly recommend this book and I look forward to reading more by this author.

This is the first book I’ve read by this author. Lawyer has found a new reader in me and I will be looking for others. Nightfall is such a great read.
Tamara finds, what she thinks is, a stray dog on her porch. Deciding to keep him as a pet and falls for the dog. She starts hearing a voice in her head that doesn’t belong to her. The quote I chose for Tamara is: “Josh, this is Ruben. He’s a very good old friend of mine, we used to work together. Actually, all three of us did. Ruben, Vee, and me. I haven’t seen this man in a year. And it’s been what, six months since you stopped talking to me?”
Josh is Tamara’s dog Nightfall, but he’s not a dog. He’s a wolf shifter. Tamara is his mate and now that he’s found her he won’t let her go. The jealous streak hits him like a freight train. The quote I chose for Josh is: “Today was absolutely miserable for me. I’m deeply in love with you, Tamara. You’re the one for me, the only one. Now that you’ve shared with me the reason you’ve been holding back, I can’t leave you—not until I give you a true chance to be with me. I know we’ll be happy together, because I’ll do anything to bring a smile to your face—anything Tamara.”
Sophie finds out that her best friend, Zoe, is being abused by her boyfriend, Ethan St Johns-Davies. Zoe needs money, and Sophie is more than willing to help after seeing her friend all banged up. Unfortunately for Sophie, Mr. St Johns-Davies is not the type of person that you mess with on a whim. She finds that out the hard way.

I am not a fan of motorcycle club books usually, but I was drawn into this story quickly with Horse being the knight in black jeans and a black leather jacket. Sophie’s story is one that many should look to for how to get through those difficult valleys that life can throw at you. Great read!

Teagan and rest of Crazy Eight has their work cut out for them. This book has everything, from witches, and werewolves, to vampires and demi demons. It’s action packed, throw in a little romance and boom you have an incredible book. I highly recommend it. This book leaves you wanting more.

After deciding to keep the stray dog that visits her home nightly, Tamara begins to discover that Nightfall is not all he seems. For starters, he can speak to her telepathically, and is inordinately concerned with her safety, protecting her from all threats, real and imagined. As time goes on, she starts to feel that he has more than platonic love in mind. While she reels from this new development, she slowly becomes aware that he is not any ordinary dog/wolf… he is a shapeshifter whose male form is quite delectable. Can she overcome her fear of getting hurt for the reward of a powerful mate?
I liked that this book was easy to read and get invested in. Tamara and Josh are interesting well-rounded characters, and the book has some very steamy overtures. I found the emotional drama to be a bit melodramatic for my tastes, but the plot was well done and likely very accessible for romance readers. All in all, a nice escape for an otherwise routine weekday night.
This was a fun book to read and quite surprising. I just love Vampire Lawyer Donovan Trait and his “air” about him how he comes across in the courtroom. Then there is this suspense on whom is starting to kill lawyers including Donovan (or they are trying). The book has some twists on the mindset on whom is responsible and I love every word of this book. I also loved the sweet romance between Donovan and Shirley (whom is a judge). I am really hoping for another book in this series by the author. This book is a great read.

The plot thickens. They say confession is good for the soul. I could not stand Freyja, however, let me just say she redeemed herself continuously throughout this novel. I like that this book told the perspective of Freyja and through this, I understood her more as a character and could appreciate her experiences. T.S maintained the same level of authenticity and creativity and produced a wonderfully graphic engrossing novel. It was interesting to see how various individuals or communities dealt with being left behind, being members of the chosen few and those in charge of the allocation of resources. There were some scenes that I lost myself in and let us just say that I am thankful that this is a figment of T.S’ imagination. Ouroboros is captivating as it is intriguing. In addition to this, it is thought-provoking in that it propels one to think about sustainability and about how we can more so care for our environment.

Mountains Wanted is the first in the Mountains Series by Phoebe Alexander. While this novel is different from her other novels, it touches on an issue in today’s world. Follow along with Sarah as she learns more about herself and what she wants. Alexander took a topic that isn’t discussed that much and wrote a novel about it. The main character, Sarah, struggles a little bit about what she wants and with whom she wants it with. Can she settle for just one? This novel is a great start to a wonderful series and I can’t wait to read more.

I think novellas should be illegal. I was on the high from Brink of Denial and expected the same lengthy and delectable story. Delectable it was, lengthy it was not. Sonya and Cam- I was disappointed concerning the length of Seth and Shaw’s story. I wanted a detailed experience of their relationship/connection as opposed to getting an overview. Short, spicy, steamy, and savoury are the themes for this novella. Do not make the mistake I did by reading Brink of Denial first. Sons of Sindicato did a wonderful job of piquing the reader’s interest and introducing them to the world of Sindicato. It gave me a taste of the exciting, fast-moving, and creative writing of the dynamic duo, Sonya, and Cam. Kudos to the heroine, Shaw, for holding her own is not one but two distinct situations. A woman with a backbone will always be appreciated in my book. #GirlPower

Drama. Suspense. Intrigue. Whew! This book has all that and then some. A page-turner- I enjoyed the dark and scandalous complexity of the storyline. The plot is brilliant and engrossing. I appreciated that the heroine took the opportunity to find herself, made mistakes and figured out what she wanted and not necessarily what others dictated. I felt that there were three subplots within the story, one concerning Dane, another Mila and the third with them finding their way as a couple. It was not messy or confusing, all three subplots gave way to the smooth transition of the big reveal (I did not see that coming!). The sarcastic humour and witty comebacks added extra layers to this novel. I wholeheartedly recommend this novel.

Lady Istra and Astrid the Raven turned man return in the next installment of this series, they are still living in Lady Isra’s tower and they are each others confidant, friend, lover and a match with regards to the darkness within them, the compliment each other and look out for each other and their combined darkness thrills them both. Although over the last year they have been together, some things have remained the same and others have changed, more shades of deep reds have emerged within the castle and Astrid has become more comfortable changing between his raven and human forms, his abilities in the use of magic have improved and he is able to help Lady Isra more than ever with her plans. After their last encounter with the outside world, Astrid insisted on cloaking the tower with a more powerful spell so that Lady Isra could remain safe and protected from the outside world and although she still enjoyed going for her walks in nature, she agreed to the improved security.
One day, the peace they had sought is broken when an unknown intruder approaches the tower, it is a creature magical in nature, but Lady Isra decides that they may find some use for them and so welcome them into their new home, but only with complete understanding that they aren’t trusted and that they must not reveal their situation to anyone in the outside world, these conditions are agreed on and so are shown to their room and left to settle in. This new person is a good witch called Contessia, she beforend the new arrival and when she goes to seek them out with the information she shouldn’t have been privy to, it leads to circumstances which nobody expected. Contessia is welcomed into the household and makes the acquaintance of Lady Istra and Astrid where she has tea and conversations, however when the day becomes late, she is invited to stay, however, this will be a night Contessia will never forget.
As a new day dawns, Contessia is sure that she has made a mistake entering into this tower, however, she is worried about her friend and is drawn back to the place despite her misgivings, this is where Lady Istra takes her under her tutelage of the dark arts and begins to mold Contessia into a new image. Astrid understands Lady Istra’s reasoning and also partakes in molding this innocent young witch, but in a less friendly manner, however, he isn’t the only one, an old acquaintance of Lady Istra’s, Everilda makes a sudden reappearance in her life, however, the reunion is not a happy one and suspicions reign as to what this person’s intentions are. As Everilda and Lady Istra’s bad blood escalates and Everilda’s motives become clear, an all out war between the two is inevitable, will the use of innocents be one witch’s undoing? Who will come out on top in the end and will there be too much collateral damage to deal with? This is the third installment in the story of Lady Istra and Astrid, they have had time to receiver from their latest escapade, but Lady Isra has been changed by her latest experience, albeit she isn’t sure exactly what happened, but Astrid does and as he recalls the events, another problem is on the horizon for this duo of dark souls. Although Astrid has been honest with Lady Istra about some aspects of their life, he has also been hiding things from their past, things that he is not sure Lady Istra will be able to forgive him from hiding them and it is causing his some serious anxiety and a lot of distance between himself and his lady love. Meanwhile Lady Istra is becoming used to her new state of mind and body as she prepares for an unexpected meeting about the deeds of her recent past, but she counters every point with one of her own and succeeds in not relenting to the pressure being put on her. One member of the meeting is someone she hasn’t been acquainted with before, he introduces himself as Ronald and hopes that they can meet again in the future under more favourable circumstances. Astrid is suspicious and doesn’t trust the human, despite feeling no magical energies coming from him, he is just being protective of his Lady Istra and safeguarding her from those he believes may do her harm.
Ronald O’Kutte however, is devising a plan to avenge his brother Kane O’Kutte, he believes that Lady Istra is guilty of involvement in his brothers disappearance and he is determined to strike at her weakest point and destroy her like she has done to him and his family. As he thinks about what he can do, Astrid is visited be an old friend who warns him about Lady Istra’s future and safety so that he can formulate a counter attack if and when needed, but he is finding it difficult to keep his secrets and is unwittingly increasing their distance while she does the same with him. Time passes and Lady Istra encounters Ronald again while on one of her walks in the forest, she doesn’t quite know what to make of him, however, she remains polite and keeps him at arms length until she can return home to Astrid. A few days later, after a night of passion and intimacy between Lady Istra and Astrid, she wakes up for one of her early walks and wakes Astrid up with screams when she finds a devastating tragedy has befallen a member of her household during the night and she is distraught, she shrugs off the attention from Astrid and the have an argument over it until she walks off and leaves Astrid alone at the tower, it is during this walk when she encounters Ronald by chance and he sees the vulnerability in her and decides it is time to make his move.
As Astrid is waiting for Lady Istra’s return he becomes more and more worried as the time passes and she doesn’t return, meanwhile Lady Istra is lost within a spell and try as she might, she cannot escape it, the only thing she knows is that she needs to find Astrid and engage his help to end the danger she finds herself in, but this is easier said than done when she is trapped in a world reliving all her past evil deeds. Astrid decides to confront the last person she was seen with and get an answer to his one burning question, where is Lady Istra? Can Astrid find Lady Istra in time before the spell she is trapped in consumes her, or will the dark plans others have made come to pass in their favour? This is another adventure where magic and reality combine to create a world where nothing is as it seems and secrets are kept and the truth of them revealed, but how it ends is only found out by reading all the way to the concluding events.

I’ve really enjoyed this series and the journey the author has taken us on. Simons does a fantastic job weaving this world together. I’m left at a loss for words and certainly don’t want to spoil the plot. But suffice it to say, the author has done another fantastic job continuing this tale. For greatest understand I would recommend that this be read in series order.

This was a very interesting read. I am a huge fan of historical romance so this was right up my alley. I felt bad for Emily and all she had to deal with in this awkward situation her step brother put her in. I did enjoy the banter and found that fun to read. There were definitely times that I wanted to scream at one character or another but I am glad I made I to the end. I really enjoyed following Phillip and Emily’s relationship and was quite happy with how the store turned out. Would definitely recommend!
I….LOVED….THIS…BOOK!!! The story was really great and it was very well written. She did an excellent job of making you feel what the characters were feeling. I loved Liam and Kendall. In the beginning I was totally adding to her list of ways to hurt him but at the end I found myself so happy about how it turned out. I give it a 20 out of 10. Definitely a great read!

I was excited to see what the fifth book in the Chase Security Series would bring and it did not disappoint! While you could read this book as a standalone I would highly recommend this series be read in order as they all build really well together and do tend to overlap at times here and there. I really love the way they layer the romance with intrigue and danger leaving you wanting more each and every single time. This one brought us the ever exciting story of Wes and Eleanor. These two will have you sitting on the edge of your seat as you try to figure them out and the drama that surrounds them as the story unfolds. I cannot wait to see what we will get with the next book!

This is a very engrossing book. I sometimes struggle to stay interested in memoirs, but didn’t have that problem once with this one. I really resonated with Mary in her struggles as a child, despite my having a very different childhood than her. It was honest and poignant, and the writing made it easy for me to walk in Mary’s shoes as she remembers her life. I like how casually it was revealed that she has a facial deformity fairly far into the book, like it wasn’t something she focused on much, just a fact about her body. It didn’t define her any more than her dirty clothes. Ms. Gregory is able to embody her childhood self so well that it’s easy to forget that 8 year old Mary didn’t write it. It didn’t sound like an adult remembering; the voice and thought processes were clearly a child’s. I fell into this world and loved being invited into her world for awhile. As she watches from the sidelines, she regards those sitting around the table, all young men apart from one and it is this one she is sincerely hoping doesn’t win, however, even if her step-brother wins the roll, she will still end up married to him or worse, but because of the tight hold on her wrist, Emily is unable to escape this mortifying and horrifying situation. As the dice roll, it seems that her luck is running out and her step-brother’s luck is in, however, on the last roll it is another of the gentlemen who wins, it is the Earl of Lenbridge and now she feels slightly more fortunate.
The Earl who has won his prize regards Emily scrutinizing her features, womanly shape and attire in the rooms candle light, he appraises him in the same way, he is handsome, has large hands and a well cut suit and evening jacket, meanwhile, he is more than happy with her beauty and he sees an innocent young woman before him who will do nicely in comparison to another young woman he has made the acquaintance of. After this, the Earl pulls some paperwork from the inside pocket of his jacket and presents it to her step-brother to sign, which he does with an exclamation and a regretful look Emily’s way and once this transaction is completed, Emily and the Earl leave the establishment and get into a coach to head to their next destination, it is clear that the Earl has imbibed a high amount of the strong liquor which was on offer and seems to be quite affected by it as he is helped into the carriage by his footman, mumbles to himself and falls asleep during the journey. While Emily is observing all of this, she is trying to collate her thoughts and wrap her head around everything which had come to pass that evening, that is until they reach their destination and the footman has to wake the Earl up.
As they enter an unfamiliar house, they are greeting by a butler who appears to have dressed hastily so that he can inform another of their arrival at the house, again, the Earl has to be helped out of the carriage and into the house, although he does still have the dexterity to be able to stop Emily from falling over on the dimly lit walkway. However, as the next guest is announced, Emily has a sudden feeling of foreboding, what will become of her now that she is the possession of the Earl, will he just use her as a mistress and make her future even more uncertain, or will she be forced into a marriage of convenience where duty comes before love? This is a tale of a regency period historical romance where uncertainty reigns and futures are as changeable as the weather, but it is a story which will hook you in and wanting to know what the future holds, will it be full of obligation and boredom, or will it be a riot of secrets and revelations? The only way to find out is to read to the end and see where this inconsiderate and scandalous wager leads.
Nightfall is the first book that I have read by T.K. Lawyer and I must say it was very enjoyable. I was so lost in the story that time just flew by and I was done with it before I realized I had read it all in one sitting. One thing that I really loved about Nightfall is that the leading lady is plus size but still lands the sexy hunk of a male lead. T.K. Lawyer choosing a plus size leading lady shows us plus size girls that romance is put there for us too. Her character descriptions are detailed and realistic making her readers feel like they are real people and not just characters on a page. I loved this book and Ms. Lawyer’s characters so much that I hope she gives us a trilogy.
Moonlit Kiss by Amy McKinley is a part of the Moonlit Destination Series. Amy McKinley does an outstanding job with her strategic storylines. Her descriptive vocabulary grabs me from the first word until the last word in the book. Her characters are fully developed and complex in nature. This book is about Gianna and Sergio. Gianna gets her dream job and moves to Italy. She will be restoring an old painting. She meets Sergio by accident in a canal-side cafe. She notices a panel missing in the painting she is restoring and she goes to Sergio for help. Gianna is living in the past while Sergio is trying to have a future with her. Can Gianna find her panel? Will Sergio have a future with Gianna? I highly recommend this story and all of Amy McKinley’s books.

Her Blackened Rose is book three of The Blackened Series. As with the first two books we follow an original story of a dark fairy tale. This series is set apart from a normal fairy tale because it’s based on the Villain, and not a princess. For a series that started off slow this third installment was a great installment because it was full of fantasy, witchcraft, magic, drama, and more. Ms. Sravenheart gave us a lot to think about in this installment including hidden agendas, mystery, danger and secrets making her readers desperately want to know what happens next. I personally can’t wait for part four of this series.

Oh my WOW! Just wow, what a read! What started out as a little read for my reading hour, turned into finishing the whole book. I devoured it in one sitting. I just couldn’t read it fast enough. The authors pulled me straight into the book and the mafia world they created for Mila and Dane’s story! I ate it up! Such a hot and sexy, and deliciously wonderful story. The truth bomb at the end stumped me. Perfect cliffhanger actually because NOW I want to most definitely read the next in the series!!

Her Blackened Heart is book two of The Blackened series. It follows our main character who is the Villain of the story which provides a unique story line unlike any other. Once again Ms. Sravenheart provides great character description and a much more detailed plot. Her Blackened Soul is the first novel and I wasn’t sure I wanted to continue this story but I’m glad I did because book two had so many twists and turns that it left my head spinning. I’m glad that there is still two books to go in this series because I can’t wait to see what Ms. Sravenheart gives us next.

Her Blackened Soul was an interesting read, while I typically love paranormal romances I found this one a little more difficult to get into. While the story has a great premise there were times that I felt that the story lagged and I wasn’t able to get lost completely in the story. However Ms. Sravenheart did give me everything that I love in a paranormal romance including magic, drama, twists and turns, and more. Her Blackened Soul is based entirely on a villain which is one of the many reasons I did enjoy it, it’s the first installment in The Blackened series. Although it did have times that the story lagged I generally enjoyed Her Blackened Soul, Ms. Sravenheart’s character development was wonderful and I can’t wait for part two.
