My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Taking Flight by Brooke May is book two of the Code of Honor series. This book can be read as a standalone but honestly you don’t want to miss book one.

Jody is always in her sister’s shadow. Her family tried to fulfill Jilly’s every need which means Jody is often neglected. She’s tired of living in the shadows and not living her own life so she’s ready to do something about it. Jody meets Holt after a mix up where he thought she was Jilly, which only firmed Jody’s decision to start loving life for herself. No one in her life has ever just been on her side. Everyone always bends to whatever Jilly wants, until Holt. Will Holt be able to help Jody take charge of her life?

I really enjoyed this book. You get sucked right in and I couldn’t put it down! I really felt for Jody. She just wanted to not live in the shadows anymore. She had so much strength and courage to go out and start living for herself. I highly recommend this book!
