Wow! Just wow! I seriously could not put this book down– I would fall asleep reading it and wake up in the middle of the night just to read some more. I am just amazed by the level of thinking that went into dreaming up this fantasy world. In The Myder Bird Tattoo, Julia Colbourn creates a uniquely beautiful world with interesting and complex characters. I’m just so excited to read more— that is, I’m HOPING, and maybe even begging, for this to become a series. If I could give the book an extra star, I would. Unlike other fantasy novels, The Myder Bird Tattoo was way more than its fantasy components— the inter-racial tensions in the story mirror ones in our world today and may even teach some about the importance of acceptance.
