Seelie Kay is at it again with the second book in the Donovan Trait Series, Ye Gods! The Law is an Ass. It continues pretty much where book one left off. With the title as is I wasn’t sure what to expect.
Donovan and Shirley are due to be wed in the human world, as well as a Vampire Wedding for the Vampire Coalition. Being a human and vampire joining the Coalition granted the union under 2 conditions. 1 Shirley had to agree to become a vampire, via forced turning. 2 Donovan and Shirley had to agree to let the Coalition control and viable embryos or future pregnancies she has, including conception. Little did they know at the time they were in for a whirlwind adventure to keep themselves and their family safe.
I enjoyed where Seelie Kay took book 2. I loved digging deeper into these 2 characters and who they are as individuals and to one another. I felt this book was a great progression and even though it says book 2 of 2, I feel it was left open for a potential book 3. I need more Donovan Trait in my life!
