Celeste is set to inherit her family’s hotel, which she doesn’t want, in this dystopian story. There is danger ahead as she sets off to the city thinking she will find more. This is a well-written tale that makes you go hmm…her family has a genetic oddity in the DNA that can sense carbon footprints and the bad guy wants them dead. That makes for an exciting thrill. Celeste has a few adventures and meets some unique personalities along the way. They are well-developed and quirky. She’s a newer author to me and this is a prequel novella. I will be reading the next in the series. I love the concept. I enjoyed the book. If you enjoy YA books, dystopian books or just plain reading, give this a shot. It’s a quick read. I highly recommend it.
