(UN)Loved (Mixed Emotions Series) by Katy Hunter – Review by Santana Hicks

(Un)Loved (Mixed Emotions, #1)(Un)Loved by Katy Hunter
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Sophie has it all. She is considered pretty, she is an actor, she’s rich and famous. The only thing missing in her life is love. Even growing up, love was limited. Being on her own since the age of only 14 years old, does she even know how to love?

Gil, Sophie’s co-star in her latest movie, quickly becomes a constant in Sophie’s life. Spending all their time on set and even off set will do that. What started out as friendship quickly turned into a relationship. After the movie was finished being filmed, Sophie went to Gil’s family farm in France. City girl had to become a country girl overnight.

As time goes on, Sophie realizes that Gil has huge commitment issues which causes a lot of strain in their relationship and in her self confidence. Her self confidence is low as it is.

This book was really realistic, which is a breath of fresh air. I find a lot of times books in the romance genre are very unrealistic on how humans actually feel and socialize. The author took two people with their own flaws and built on that. Growing each character into their own person. The relationship is actually slowly growing instead of all at once like most romance.
