With a name like Evil Sushi, I wasn’t sure exactly what I was getting myself into when I started reading this book, but I was wonderfully surprised to discover this thrilling tale was just what the title suggested: something terrifying yet playful. When reading this book, I discovered that this book touches on a lot of different things that I was thinking about over the last few years. I’m sure we’ve all thought about the effect our choice in diet has on the environment, even in passing, and that’s why this tale gave me chills. The classic horror nowadays centers around the impossible: zombies. But what if that terror came from the sea? What if our future looked just a little more like the apocalypse with sea life? Just a little on the joking side, but wonderfully serious at the same time, this book will have you gripping the edge of your seat and expectantly waiting for the next in the series!

This author is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I have read several of their books and so far I have yet to be disappointed. This novel however was not quite what I expected, the cover and synopsis prepare you for the unexpected but I was not prepared for all the twists and turns that this book had to offer. This thriller has so many unexpected twists in turns that you’ll be checking your closet before bed. The characters were amazing, and the plot is original and fantastic. So if your looking for a great new series then make sure you pick this one up today.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. This box set contains two sweet stories and a bonus chapter. Finding Melodie and The Wedding are both amazing stories.
Finding Melodie is about a street musician and a banker finding love. Isaac and Melodie are complete opposites, but then again they say opposites attract.
Melodie has given nicknames to everyone that passes by her while playing music. Office Guy, as she’s dubbed Isaac, comes to her one day for help. He’s going to ask his girlfriend to marry him. The quote I chose for Melodie is: “You don’t know you. I know you are a good man. It takes guts to do what you did, show your feelings, show how much you care. Nobody takes love seriously these days. It’s all too fast, too intense, too consuming. And it’s all gone in the blink of an eye. It takes guts, Isaac. And I shall not overlook this. I won’t let you stand down. Isaac is hurt and finds himself in the company of a pink haired lady. In the process of trying to win Katy back he found himself. He finds himself falling for Melodie. The quote I chose for Isaac is: “I’m screwed, Melodie. I think my heart belongs to a Pixie. I think I’m in love with you.”
The Wedding is the sequel to Finding Melodie. It’s time to get married and meet the parents. Melodie is going to have a hard time trying to please his parents and it just might ruin them.
Melodie is the same girl from Finding Melodie. Now though she’s living with Isaac in his home and she loves it. She gets home early to surprise him only to surprise his parents. The quote I chose for Melodie is: “Breaking up is never easy, and when families are involved, it’s even more complicated. And I want to say, for argument’s sake, that I don’t normally go around undressed like that. Cynthia. I love your son so very much. No matter how unexpected it may look or sound, it’s the truth. Isaac is hitting the jackpot. He’s got the girl and the job. He turned down one promotion for another and is happy with life. His parents show up and find that he’s no longer with Katy. His mother just might ruin his chance of happiness. This book was one that I found myself not able to put down! The writing was so great I felt as though I was on the journey with Morgan and Vandana and not just a reader. The characters chemistry is so wonderful, I cannot even put it into words. Their story is unconventional and that is what makes it worthwhile. I have never read a romance story that was based on a yacht designer and a PR person but this one is WONDERFUL! I cannot wait to read more of their story and continue reading this story as well as others by this author!

This was the first book I have ever read by this author, and now I am a huge fan! This book was descriptive in its characters and well written all around. This book begins in 1941 in Milton, Florida following Margaret Rose. Margaret is a strong woman who only knows she must keep going and persevere through whatever life throws at her. She pushes through countless struggles, marriages that have ended (in a time where that was almost unheard of), through raising her daughters alone, and even losing one of them. The author’s note after the story is an absolute must! It is there we learn about the basis of truth for this story. A portion of the author’s note talks about gardenias needing acid to bloom. She then goes on to say that Margaret endured constant struggles during the first part of her life, but they only ended up causing her to bloom later. I cannot think of a more apt description for this book.

The premise of this series is very original. This book picks up where the first one leaves off, dropping us in a dystopian atmosphere, where things are quickly falling apart. The originality of the overall story, as well as essentially relying on fisherman to save the day, makes this book interesting. As with most end of the world type stories, the government does not want to believe in the supernatural, they just want to conquer. But the refreshing part of this book are the ones who do believe and definitely want to do the right thing.
This is a book where you definitely have to read book one before you start this book. I have read many books between reading book one and two, and I personally would have liked more of a recap of what happened previously. I was a bit lost throughout the story, not remembering exactly what previously happened. Besides that, this was a unique, interesting book that is unlike any I have read before.

A gripping crime thriller full of plot twists and turns that kept me both hooked and guessing until the last page. This is book two in a series featuring, Eckardt County Sheriff Elizabeth Benoit, and Deputy Lila Dayne, however I read it easily as a standalone story. Two years ago Lila survived an attack by a serial killer, but is haunted by dark memories following her many surgeries and rehab. Even as Lila begins to get back to normal, she can still sense him watching her. Meanwhile Sheriff Elizabeth Benoit is determined to bring down Eckardt County’s corruption, but then two bodies are discovered, bearing striking similarities to the serial killer’s victims. One has a very personal message for her department, and sadly the pressure gets too much for Lila and she pushes everyone away. As Elizabeth tries to stay connected to Lila, the killer is closing in on his next victim and he seems to want to finish what he started. Lila must overcome her fear and trust those around her, as Elizabeth and her deputies desperately try to catch the killer. This is a tense and immersive read, and you can feel the suspense mounting with each chapter. An engaging read which I recommend, and I am keen to read book one in the series now, and hoping for a book three!

Finding Melodie was a cute short book. I loved the characters and the happily ever after. Their friendship was fun to read about, with their playful banter and innocent flirting. They are the most unlikely pair, but their friendship works. Melodie has a very laid back, fun personality. She is a street musician during the day and works at a bar at night. Issac is a serious guy who works a 9 to 5 in a bank, and wears suits daily. Melodie is so selfless, she helps Issac try to win back his girlfriend, even though she has a secret crush on him. I love the ending for Katy- Karma sucks sometimes huh. I liked that the story transitioned to include Issac’s POV midway through the story. The Wedding seemed much longer than Finding Melodie, and they almost could have been a story together. I’m glad I read them as a box together, because I know I wouldn’t have wanted to stop after Finding Melodie. While it was a predictable romance, I still loved it. The story is cute and the ending was perfect.

This is my first time reading this author and I enjoyed every moment of it!
Finding Melodie: Melodie is a music student/busker that falls in love with a regular “Office Guy” as she dubs him. I laughed, my heart ached, and I wanted to read more! These books are a great pick me up read. I enjoyed seeing Melodie come into her own with her MIL and her MIL humbling herself for her son’s best interest. I would definitely read this author again!

The whole Reigning Hearts series is amazing, each can be enjoyed as a stand alone series. They are all romance novels with loveable characters you quickly get attached to. I love this series because they are romantic stories that are kept clean, and allow the readers to get to know the characters individually and together. Highly recommend them.
Run to the Sea- The story was so sweet and while it had some sad moments, the happily ever after was appreciated. This is the story of Emeline Fischer and Thomas Capshaw. They were best friends as children, and lost touch after Thomas, or Cappy, went to college. He finds himself lonely and trapped in New York City, stuck in a job he doesn’t enjoy and in a relationship with a woman he doesn’t love. He returns home to settle his grandfather’s estate after he passed away, and ran into Emeline, or Emmy, on his first day back home. Their reunion was not pretty, and she all but storms out. She is a waitress in a diner, as well as works various jobs throughout town. She is the epitome of a struggling artist, painting in all her free time. But, destiny quickly brings them back together and the friends reunite. With their shared passion of art, and a box of photographs left behind from Thomas’s famous photographer grandfather, they become best friends again. Read the story to uncover their love for each other and steps they take to make things work. Stars Fall From the Sky- While it does follow Run to the Sea, it could be a stand alone book. The characters overlap, but this is a full story, with enough detail that you would still enjoy it. It is a beautiful story of second chances and finding love again after loss. The story follows Ginger McCormick after the loss of her high school sweetheart husband. If it weren’t for her newborn daughter, she probably wouldn’t even get out of bed in the morning. She slowly finds her way out of grief, and back into living her life. Much from the help of Jonathan Walden, the town doctor. He too is grieving the loss of his wife earlier in the year. They lean on each other to cope and mend their broken hearts. They hit it off straight away, and developed a quick friendship. But it seemed fate kept bringing them together. Perhaps each other are just what they need to move on and love again. There is a shocker toward the end, but without giving it away, I’ll just say, I did NOT see that one coming! A Sun So Bright- This book is the story of Fiona Merrill and Chris Ballard. Fiona is a billionaire heiress, who was handed life on a silver platter. Her dad was loaded and never spared an expense to show his love for his only daughter. Now that he’s passed, she spends her days as a socialite, going to lunch with her rich friends, or charity dinners. She has been single for too long, so when fate bring her and Chris back together, she takes matters into her own hands and hires him as her plus one. Chris comes from an entirely different world. Very blue collar, bar tender, and son of a cop. He has worked hard his entire life and cannot be a kept man. As the chemistry heats up, they both are left to decide what they are willing to compromise. I love the different view of this story. It allows us to see a whole different side of Fiona. In the previous books she comes off as a spoiled rich kid, which she is. However, she is also portrayed as a complete and total B. I actually loved her by the end of this book, and it was nice to see her develop and mature as the story progressed. The chemistry between her and Chris is off the charts I’ll See You Again- This book is an opposite’s attract romance book about a Scottish rockstar and a small town wedding planner. They are complete opposites and I was happy to see them both able to pursue their dreams despite being on totally different paths when they meet. I love the theme of the book, and the characters. It is a sweet romantic, love at first sight book. There is some happy parts and some really sad parts, so be prepared with kleenex for this roller coaster ride. The book has a happily ever after, but it takes a bit to get there. A Cold Creek Christmas- This was a cute quick story to get you in the Christmas spirit. The book focuses on Amber, bar owner and not a fan of the holiday and Giovanni (Geo) who loves the holidays. He has a young daughter, so he lays the Christmas spirit on thick. The two quickly hit it off, much to the delight of Gio’s grandmother, who is trying to play matchmaker between the two. I did enjoy the story and will be reading more by the author. My one complaint was the steamy scene… the words chosen were very… high school… and made me chuckle. But it didn’t take away from the story at all. I was glad to have a happily ever after.

What a gripping Book. From the moment instarted reading this book really caught my attention. I found myself on the edge of my seat, reding quicker and quicker to try and see what was going to happen. I had to read the book in one sitting. This book carries on from the events in book one so I would highly recommend reading them in order. This is clearly the start of an exciting series.

This is such an emotional and well written story. Set in the 1940’s it really feels like you are taken to this era. The author paints such a vivid description of everything it is so easy to picture it all. It was so easy to form a connection with the character too. Her journey is such a hard one and the whole way through I was hoping she would find her way. For me this is a great example of a fictional story set without this time.
Run to the Sea by K.G. Fletcher is the first book in the Reigning Hearts series. This book is about two childhood friends finding each other, and their way. I found this book to be so emotional. The author does an amazing job at creating a very real connection between you, the reader, and the characters. It felt like I was living every single emotion that they were each feeling. The story carries this level of emotion well. It doesn’t take away from it but it also doesn’t let it down. It is well written and so engaging. This author always seems to know how to write a good book and so far this is my favourite. I am looking forward to the next in the series.
Stars Fall From the Sky by K.G. Fletcher is the second book in the Reigning Hears series. This book was so much more emotional that I expected it to be and it is the type of book that tears your heart to pieces but in all the right ways. From the moment I started this book I knew that I was going to sucked in. I also figured pretty quickly to have the tissues on hand. The author has created such a beautifully heartbreaking story that morphs into so much more. I have a read a few books by this author now however this one easily has to be my favourite. The characters and the story were everything and more. I fully enjoyed this book and would highly recommend it.
A Sun So Bright by K.G. Fletcher is r third book in the Reigning Hearts series. This book can be read as a stand-alone. I have to say for me the best bit about this book was the character development. I really struggled with Fiona at first, to the point where I wasn’t sure if I could finish the book. However as the book progressed her development was so interesting to read. By the end of the book I felt like I really understood her and was pleased for her. The book was well written and really shows the skill of the author. This is a great read overall.
I’ll See You Again: A Scottish Rock Star, standalone apooposites-attract romance by K.G. Fletcher is the fourth book in the Reigning Hearts series. This book is every bit as good as the previous books with strong characters and a brilliant story line. I always love to pick up a book that has characters in from Scotland or England, as being from the UK myself I always tend to feel connected to them that much quicker. Nicky and Mac were one of those couples that instantly you can’t help but love. They were both interesting already and their meeting just added to the depth you could already feel with them. I liked the story that went with these two. It felt like there was more to it than just what you got at face value, which for me is what a book should be like. I was engaged with the story from the word go and could have definitely kept reading long after I put the book down. This is yet another amazing book by an author who is quickly becoming one of my favourites.
What a brilliant holiday romance Book this is, and such a fantastic addition to the series. Although this is a short story there is so much going on. You really become invested in the characters and their story. This is the sort of book you just have to read in one sitting. This author has easily become one of my favourites. I never hesitate to pick up one of her books as they are always so enjoyable. This book is the perfect example of that. A great holiday romance this really is worth your time.

This is the first book I’ve read by the author. It certainly won’t be my last. Hush, My Darling is the second book in the Benoit and Say he Mystery Series. It’s a fantastic read that hooked me from the beginning.
Elizabeth is now Sheriff and now there’s a serial killer under her nose. Problem is, one of her deputies has already been a victim of said serial killer. Can she and Dayne figure it out? The quote I chose for Elizabeth is: “Deputy Lundquist, please step outside. Dr. Remington-Thorpe, if you would join him, please.”
Lila is back on the job after almost losing her life and losing her baby. Now the killer is back and after her. Can she do the job Elizabeth wants her to do? Will she become a victim again? The quote I chose for Lila is: “Done and over with, and he’s still alive. Don’t worry about it. I came home to get something to eat. Let’s get out of this humidity.”
I was not expecting this book to ring so true! The tale of what happens when human greed, misinformation, and ignorance all compile together to bring humanity to the brink of starvation and poverty! Or, is it a story of what our realities will become soon if we don’t focus on the larger picture? DUN DUN DUNNNN. In all seriousness, it is a creative take on a far fetched future based on realistic issues. Brought on by a theory that certain foods were to blame for causing damage to the globe, the over indulgency of another food has turned the world desolate. As it goes, large corporations took a once lucrative past time and monopolized it. Small time farmers make a discovery that has the potential to change this, or will it? Evil Sushi keeps you guessing. An enjoyable read that really makes you reflect on the state of our current world. It is at once entertaining, and a little sad. I am definitely intrigued to see where the story goes next.

I really enjoyed this book however through no fault of anyone but my own, I did not realize that this was book 2 in the Evil Sushi series. I felt a little lost but was definitely able to still enjoy due to it being such a well written book. If you are looking for a thrill and suspense this is a great book that will deliver! It gave me strong Siren tv show vibes in one sense and I just really was into it as much as I could be! I am going to be reading the first because that way as I continue I will feel as though I’ve got the whole story down! A first for me from this author but clearly not my last! Very fun read!

I just finished this audio book and my gosh what a rollercoaster ride of emotions. It is good I had an audio book because the tears were streaming down my face. If I have to vote, I’d say this is now my favorite book from this author. So much happens in this book you will not want to stop listening. Alex is broken but yet still has strength to overcome the worst of the worst. Dart is given an opportunity to grow in his role at the club due to unforeseen circumstances. This book starts off with a bang and never lets you go. Some extremely sensitive issues are brought up in this book. If you have read any of the prior books in the series. This is a must must must read. The narrators are the best I have listened to and will drag the emotions out of you whether good or bad.

Had me invested from the very beginning! The story starts with a bomb dropping and blowing Vandana’s word into crumbling pieces. She is a strong character, however and this will not destroy her. Strained relationships with her family, and close support of her friends, she is now navigating her world with a new perspective. Will she pull the pieces back together? Morgan is every persons kryptonite. A young and successful yacht designer, with his sights aimed for the starts and nothing he can’t have! He is in a position to look to Vandana’s firm to kept the momentum of his company going, but will he stumble across something else on the way? Will Vandana? The story is steamy, fun, and an enjoyable ride. Looking for a romance set a rich man’s playground? Then give this one a shot.

This book was another great cozy up, get comfy, and read from cover to cover! New author for me but boy am I glad I found her! This was such a well written sweet romantic book! I fell in love with the main characters and the ending had me so pleased! I loved the flow of the book and found it was another book that you wish for a love story like that for yourself! It was easy to read and left me with all the feelings! Couldn’t recommend more if you’re looking for something a little less dark and dangerous!

While I liked The Last Cabin Girl and the overall storyline, I struggled to remain immersed in the mystery surrounding Josie. The author was very descriptive but at times, I felt distracted from the main suspense I was supposed to be engaged with. The author has us focused on Josie, mom of two who has left her abusive husband at the beginning of 2020. Josie is suddenly dealt with murder charges, family secrets and a scary soon to be ex-husband getting too close for comfort. The tangled web of secrets that unfold is fantastic, even if a bit unrealistic. I would definitely recommend for a quick and twisty read.

Very well written love story. This story could fall in several genres, BWWM, enemies to lovers, billionaire romance. From different walks of life, Zenni and Colton are very different but can they find a way to overcome the past and find their way to one another? Quick read.
I really enjoyed this boxset. The stories in the are light hearted romances. These story’s are romantic comedies. The characters are really well written that you can’t help but fall in love with them from the beginning. I love Melodie’s character. She is a fun loving women who knows what she wants and goes after it and despite all the ups and downs and challenges she has to go through to get there. The story of Isaac and Melodie is one that will have laughing out loud and feeling the full force of the love that comes from each page.

Within the last five years, global warming and the decline of the environment have made people rethink the way they eat. Fish is the new hot commodity and Treacle is a perfect town to be a fisherman, until over-fishing and big corporations leave little to nothing left. Rod, a local fisherman with a knack for tinkering enlists the help of his friend Ned to go test out his newest gadgets. What they find in the murky depths shocks them, but what they think could be the end of world hunger might just be the start of a new source of food on the menu, us….. This book was really fun to read with such a unique concept. The characters were really engaging and relatable and it made me want to find out what happens to them. What stuck with me the most is the things we do to our environment and what would happen when we take more than the earth can give back. I recommend this book to anyone looking for something fresh and exciting that will give you an adrenaline rush!

An entertaining and engaging read, which kept me happily turning the pages. Millionaire, playboy, and Monaco’s most notorious yacht designer, Morgan de Rohan-Chabot, is known as a maverick, with a ‘bad boy’ reputation. Although this means the handsome man with attitude is trouble with a capital T, it also makes him Vandana Hillman’s perfect public relations challenge, after all she is, the Queen of Luxury PR. Morgan needs Vandana’s help to land him a conservative Saudi Prince as a client, and so invites her to join him in Monaco for ten day’s. Needing a distraction from her own life, she accepts. The glittering shores of Monaco, and the glamorous lifestyle of those who live there is brought vividly to life by the descriptive narrative, making me feel immersed in the storyline. I loved the characters, both Morgan and Vandana are likeable and relatable, and their chemistry definitely came across in the narrative, and sizzled off the page. This attraction led to some steamy scenes, I also enjoyed the witty banter between them. It’s a slow burn romance with a promised HEA, and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it.

It is a beautifully written love story with heartbreak in so make sure you have some tissues. The writer does an excellent job with the characters you cant help but get caught up in their journey.

A cold Creek Christmas
This is a beautiful Christmas romance story. It is book 5 in the Reigning Hearts Series. I love all these stories set in a small town where people find love. This books was especially enjoyable as its based around the Christmas season and I personally find Christmas one of the most romantic times of year. I love the characters of Amber and Gio. Amber is a strong independent woman. She is also the typical grinch around Christmas and has a deep hate of it because of her past. Gio on the other hand loves Christmas and wants to share this job with Amber. To show her how wonderful it can be. The attention and chemistry between them is instant and passionate. When Gio offers for Amber to spend Christmas with his family, will she take a leap of faith and embrace the season and the chance of love or will she turn her back and remain cold just like the snow.

One of my favorite things about reading mystery/thriller books is trying to solve it as I go along. Boy- this one was a toughie! The characters are so raw and brilliantly written. I couldn’t decide if Sheriff Benoit was my favorite or Lila Dayne. They were both written so vividly- it was easy to empathize with them. The storyline was fleshed out and had so many twists and turns I had a difficult time putting this book down- even to sleep! I finished this book earlier and I still can’t get it out of my mind. I am officially obsessed with this author and the way they write such haunting stories- I have GOT to read more. This was gripping and definitely worth a read!

This was a new author to me, so I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading it. It was a really good book with a lot of steamy romance. VERY STEAMY ROMANCE. The author’s writing description is impeccable regarding the storyline and what is taking place. It was so good you could fully imagine what was taking place. That was probably the biggest issue that I had with the story. The sexual romance was a little more than I prefer, but that’s just me personally. If you are a fan of steamy romance books then you will love this story.
