Ancient Reflections: A Mythic Trilogy by Tamara Agha-Jaffar
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
I really enjoyed this Trilogy of stories. The author does an amazing job of taking mythical stories and retelling them in a way that makes them more relatable. Each story is unique it’s it own way but it what I really loved is that the stories are seen and told from a female perspective. This really brings the stories to life as you get to feel every emotion felt. I understood the feelings of Demeter as a mother myself. I felt her need to protect her daughter and her grief at her loss. But at the same time i understood Persephone’s need to grow and make her own way.
These books are mythical story’s full of angst, gods, emotions, adventure and a insight into the relationships from a deeper point of view.
Amazingly written I was captivated with them all and I know have a new love for Greek Mythology.
