I’ve read a couple billionaire romance and loved each one of them and this was no different. Being the first book of the Billionaire Blind Dates Series I was not at all disappointed.Toni Denise is an excellent writer. She really holds your attention and makes you feel their emotions. I can’t wait to read all of the other friend’s stories to see what their matches are going to be like. In this book we see the first one of the group Jake go on a blind date with Lauren. They are both amazing characters, who are perfect for each other. I highly recommend this book.

Jake: A Steamy Billionaire Contemporary Romance (Billionaire Blind Dates Book 1)
This was a book that was extremely hard to put down. I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen with Jake and his blind date but the drama happening with one of the other guys and his company.
Jake came across as one of the good guys from the beginning. Did use his wealth as an excuse to be rude or act better than everyone which made me like him more.
Lauren was extremely relatable for me. I seem to have a soft spot for female characters with complicated relationships with their Mom and Lauren definitely has that.
I’m wasn’t sure what I was getting into with this book since she’s a new to me author but she didn’t disapoint. There were so many things I enjoyed about this book. I can’t decide if it was when Jake defended Lauren or Cade. All of the characters are great and I look forward to a long relationship with this group. Now to patiently wait for the next book.

I enjoyed the concept of a paranormal book series surrounding a strong and witty female lead character. So I was excited to jump head first into this book. Now that I am finished, I cannot wait to read books 2 and 3.
Like most young folks, Makayla hopes to get into the school of her choice but there is always a chance of only getting accepted to the Grave Digger Academy. When she finds out that she was chosen for the inevitable Grave Digger Academy, she is crushed, and her family is heartbroken. What’s a girl to do other than make the best of her situation since she has no other options, right?
I enjoyed how easily the story flowed and found that I read this in one sitting. While I experienced this in a short period of time, I found that it packed a punch. It had everything that you need: a great plot, well developed characters, and a lot of activity to keep you enthralled throughout the pages. Plus, who doesn’t love a good story that has a magical fantasy plotline? You’ll enjoy reading through M’s progress from someone who hates the idea of attending the academy to maturing to a talented student.
I think anyone of any age will enjoy this book and be intrigued to try the entire series. I give this book a 5 out of 5 stars.

This novel is the first in a mafia series about a group of highly privileged and devastatingly handsome men, your typical mafia romance, with an interesting twist.
Jake is tired of women who see him as a billionaire and only wanting him for what he can do for them, so after being persuaded by his friends he joins a new app for blind dating, the twist? It’s actually “blind dating”. The women he meets will only get to know him by the sound of his voice and the connect they can hopefully form without all the money and good looks involved. But Jake only agrees too four dates and if he doesn’t find a true connection on those dates, he might just swear off love and relationships forever.
Lauren a strong willed independent woman, is looking for ANYTHING but a relationship, or someone to take care of her. But after a series of unfortunate events Lauren is badgered into giving the dating world another try by her new roommate, it’s a literal shot in the dark. The last thing she expected is finding a connecting so strong with someone she’s just met. The only problem for Lauren, is the man at the end of that connection is exactly what she fears.
Will Lauren let her fear of wealthy men, and stolen independence cloud her judgement and guide her away from a shot at true love? And will Jake let go of the past and embrace a future after the heartbreak he’s endured?
Terrific book, loved the “blind dating spin”! It’s pretty relatable as a strong independent woman myself to put myself in Lauren’s shoes and see where her hesitancy comes from. On the flip side I have been in a position that I would akin to jakes and sometimes it’s hard to convince yourself that people can be good and different.
The author wrote this book well, the characters are totally lovable, I laughed, I cried, I yelled in frustration, all and all definitely exceeded what I wanted to get out of this read. Cannot wait to follow the stories of the other billionaire baddies featured in this novel!

I’ve had a love for poetry since I started performing it in high school for my speech team. My first book of poetry I ever owned was a history of poetry written by African American poets in the 1900s, which sparked my own desire to write poetry myself.
This book reminds me of the outpouring of words and verse I used to love when I was younger. I find this set of poetry to be very interesting indeed and trippy, just like the description. While there were a few things I didn’t fully understand because of my age (Like some of the Beetle’s and Pink Floyd reference, along with some other millennial pop culture references), this was still a book that I felt I understood what the author was trying to say. I’ve read poetry where the authors dedicated their time to articulation and where you could tell they picked every word with care, and I’ve read poetry that felt like it was a tidal wave finally set free from the dam they had built within the author’s soul, and this book is the beautiful middle.
I absolutely loved this book. The rhythm, the cadence, everything about it spoke to me on a level I forgot I had. I’m now going on a deep search to see if he has more books, because I honestly couldn’t get enough of this one. If I was still in school, it would have been the next subject of my speech season. Highly recommend!!!

A Love Restrained is a contemporary, suspense romance about two people who had a short highschool history together, but find each other again years later. Kylee Parker is a Philadelphia police officer who loves her job. While observing the streets, she sees a drug deal go down and chases down the dealer. While she is trying to arrest him, she recognizes that voice, Jayson Donovan, the boy who broke her heart in highschool. Jayson is quite excited to be getting arrested by her, because what she doesn’t know is that he had always had a thing for her and the fact that her heart was broken was a lot of misunderstandings. Jayson was abused and had a rough home life, but he did have a savior! After being arrested by Kylee, Donovan sees this as his chance to make amends and go after what he has always wanted, so he sends her different plants and flowers, with a note asking her to dinner. Kylee is cautious but can’t seem to eventually keep saying no. That original yes turns into the two of them dating and falling for each other. However, Donovan’s past is sad, complicated, and his present seems to go against all of her morals. Can all of his past and the secrets of his present continue in their relationship or will it eventually ruin this beautiful love story? I really enjoyed this story. As a person who works in the field of psychology, it was great to see just how much love, even from strangers, can change the course of someone’s life within this story. I thought the flow of the story made you feel like you were walking through their life. While on this “walk”, you could feel all the things they were going through, the ups, the downs, the love, the secrets, etc. However, at no point in time did I ever not like one of the main characters, even through the hardship. Just the way the information was presented you felt like something was going on you couldn’t put your finger on, but knew it would work out in the end (I am not really sure why, it has been a while since I felt that in a book). You truly feel for each of these characters at all the twists and turns that the story takes you on. I was actually pretty surprised, in some sense, about how the story turned out.

This read was just as exciting as book 1! I flew through the story in just one sitting. It was good to continue on with Makayla and the other students in this second installment of the series. I cannot wait to continue on with book 3.

Oliver has been adopted. After he get in trouble one day, he starts thinking about the reasons his birth parents could not be the ones who are taking care of him. He also contemplates what his life could be like with out his adoptive parents. I think this book would be a good resource for kids who may need help to start a conversation about adoption. It brings up reasons for adoptions in a way that a child would be able to understand. The illustrations are not in color though. Visually, it might appeal to a child’s eyes more if it was more colorful, but the content of the words is quality.

This is an author that I have enjoyed reading from the first book I picked up by him. I never hesitate to pick up his books. I enjoy how he can use his writing skills and details to bring his stories to life. This is the second book in this series which I highly suggest reading the first book as well. This will help with your enjoyment of this author’s books and his characters. This is a well written story that has a little bit of everything in it. It is an engaging story that is hard to put down. The characters are strong and unique. They pull you into the story from the start. They make it easy and entertaining to read. They really made the story for me. The twists and turns are something you don’t want to miss. This is a great story that you don’t want to miss. I highly recommend this book and this author.

Greer’s life has been turned completely upside down. Her mom has fallen in love and has moved her into a mansion across town. This sounds like it would be the dream situation almost a rags to riches situation. Not if you are beginning your senior year of high school, like Greer is. She has to change her school and her friends. Instead of going to public school, she is going to go to the most expensive private school in the area. Truthfully she can’t believe all this is happening to her. On top of having a sort of dad she also has a sort of step brother. Who she can’t stand and is fascinated with all at the same time. Beckett is also in his senior year of high school. And he has gained a home with two women. He doesn’t trust Greer’s mom and truthfully doesn’t trust Greer. But as the school year starts, he begins to question if Greer is actually as sweet and innocent as she appears. Maybe Greer’s motives are completely innocent. There is no denying there is something between Greer and Beckett. But what is it? Beckett is determined to destroy Greer’s high school year. Greer is determined to make the best of it in an attempt to show support for her mom. This book was truthfully very good. I loved the character of Greer. I thought she was very realistic. Definitely pick up this quick read!

Caspian is the main character in this Children’s book. His grandfather gives him a present on his “Un-birthday.” He also receives a stone from his mother. These two items work to help and Caspian learns that they both have a function to help him solve problems. While he is wearing the hat, he can hear the thoughts of other people and animals. Caspian’s neighbor makes him a pecan loaf which he really enjoys. While visiting the neighbor, Caspian hears, with the help of the hat, that someone needs his help. Using the hat and thinking stone will help solve the problem and help Caspian find his final present. I think the text feature of the print that is the actual thoughts that he is hearing will help children make sense of the story. These characters are adorable.

I enjoyed reading this second chance romance story. This is not my first book by this author but it is one of my favorites yet. I enjoy how the author used details and her writing skills to bring life to the story. This story is no different. This is a well written story that is full of romance and hard to put down. The characters are strong and keep the story engaging. They have great chemistry and growth throughout the story. It is an emotional story in parts which just added to the story. Grave Digger Academy is the first book in this series by C.A. King, the story followed Makayla, the youngest child of a very successful magical lineage who is ready to start her first day at the magical academies. Makayla is not the same as her brothers, who are all very accomplished in their areas, and she ends up at the Grave Digger Academy, the least respected of the magical schools. Not everything is as it seems at her new school however, the teaching staff refuse to talk about certain subjects, and she feels that there is something sinister lurking in the shadows. This was a fun novel and did well at introducing the different characters in the new magical world. I enjoyed it, would recommend to younger readers who like the paranormal genre.

Christmas is a busy time of year for Emma’s family’s business. All the baking orders and decorating for Christmas, there’s barely any free time. When a friend asks for help, Emma cannot refuse him, especially when it involves a haunted house. Strange noises, ghost sightings, and people disappearing all make for an entertaining read. I really enjoy this series and all the recipes from the story that are included. I highly recommend it!

This story has some science experiments that kids can replicate easily. The information is presented in an engaging and factual way. I think that it would encourage kids to investigate more and ask questions. This and the related titles are all good resources for teachers to support science curriculum. Trezzie (the mermaid) is Maia’s imaginary friend who helps to show Fig (Maia’s human friend) how to see air, and how to use water and a mirror to make a rainbow. This is a wonderful children’s story!

Every though this is the 3rd book in the series it can be read as a stand alone.
What an adorable romcom. Marissa is a painter about to embark on opening her gallery and Weston is a billionaire condominium manufacturer (yes there is plenty of jokes in the book!) who comes home to help his mom sell her shop. Of course something seems shady so Westin sticks around to investigate, which means he’s gets to be close to Marissa for a little bit longer. They have a trouble past but working towards the common goal of figure out who is wanting to buy up all the shops on the island will help them figure some things out!

I loved The Victor! It gave me all kinds of feels. I only wish it was longer. I want more of Cole and Ava in my life. I also can’t wait for the continuation of the series. Ava is the character most women can relate to. Likable, insecure, strong willed. When she ends up with the man of her dreams she still believes it’s too good to be true. So she asks for a divorce instead. One problem, Cole tells her no! Thinking she’s doing what’s best to release a trapped man, she has no idea how deep she slices him with her request. Cole unequivocally loves Ava but he’s never been vocal about it. Wanting his actions to speak for him. Now this is their problem. They don’t communicate. They close up everything inside. Will they ever move forward? The author gives you a fast paced romance with a lot of substance and obstacles. Keeps you rooting for Ava and Cole to make it work. So time to jump on the roller coaster ride and into The Victor. A second chance romance, that’s slightly different from ones I’ve read before. I think you will feel the same!

The Mermaid and the Ice Cube Necklace is a children’s story in the group that follows two friends and a mermaid. Maia is the one who can communicate with the mermaid, whose name is Trezzie. This book teaches factual information that may help teachers introduce or supplement science lessons on the states of matter. The art style is a nice complement to the content as well.

Burn is the first book in the Elemental Warriors series. This was a really good read. The story was captivating from the very beginning. I loved the immediate attraction between Levi and Brooke but also how the secrets start to unravel in regards to Levi been an Elemental and Brooke a Sleeper.
Levi is an Elemental who’s job is to protect earth from Chaos. He is also tasked with finding Sleepers (humans with Elemental powers). He need to find and protect them before they fall into the hands of Chaolt. Chaolt are out to find the Sleepers and use their hidden power to destroy and cause chaos in the human world.
The attraction between Levi and Brooke is instant but Elementals aren’t allowed to get involved with humans and with the added complications of Brookes hidden power it’s a relationship that is doomed to not work. However she seems to be the cool water to his scorching fire.
It was a fast paced story full of passion however its also a story of Forbidden Love as they aren’t meant to be together. Levi’s job is to protect her from evil not to fall in love with her.
I can’t wait to see where this series will go. And I’m looking forward to book 2

Marissa and Weston have been best friends since kindergarten, and fell in love. Five years ago, unexpected news rattled them and they broke up. Weston left the island they lived on and hadn’t returned to visit. That changes when his mom asks for his help. Their first time seeing each other… does not go well.
Marissa and Weston have obvious chemistry. I liked Weston and Marissa, though both seemed a bit naive to me. The entire cast of characters is interesting, but a few things fell flat. The story is a bit predictable, and some of the characters were odd and not quite realistic – like Weston’s staff’s over-the-top insistence on putting slippers on Marissa or feeding her. That being said, I enjoyed the story and there were many parts that were funny. It is the perfect beach read.

But, when she wakes up and sees no notice from an academy, she has a feeling that this isn’t going to end the way she wants it to.
After an eventful trek to her new campus, she quickly learns that everything at Grave Digger Academy is not as it seems. She quickly finds herself under the watchful eye of those in charge because she has more questions than answers…and she just keeps asking them. When a bout of boredom leads her wanting to take a trip into town, Makayla finds herself in a situation that begins to shed light on what is really going on….but also allows her to learn more about herself than her parents (or any teacher) ever told her. But…not that she knows…what is she going to do about it?!?
This story moved quickly through a year at Grave Digger Academy. There is a lot of information about the witching world given…and a lot of questions left unanswered. I found myself invested in Makayla’s situation and am interested in finding out what happens next.

Another great book in the series. This time the group comes together for the Inter-Academy games. What could go wrong? The students are forced to find their inner strengths and their bond with their helpers. You can feel the growth in the students and their confidence in themselves. I really enjoyed seeing those who were thought to be from the lessor school overcome the tasks at hand and show that they are also a force to be wrecken with but can also come together to save those in need. Overall, a fun quick read.

When I heard there was a sequel to The Good Thing, I knew I had to read it. I wasn’t disappointed. The adventures of Proby, RL, Frankie, Jaderay and the rest of the gang will have you chuckling, smiling, giggling, and running the gamut of emotions. This is the weirdest, funniest, oddest science fiction/fantasy, comedy novel that I’ve read. I’ve really enjoyed it. The author has a way of writing that you might connect with or might not. I like twisted humor so this was my cup of tea. I couldn’t put this down. I hope this author will delight us with some of this writing. I’ll be watching.

Cam has finally settled down into his new life on Lewis. After losing his first wife Freyja on his original Island of August and being blamed for her disappearance, Cam randomly wandered around August in a sort of stupor looking for her. Going back to their private hot springs within a cave, Cam is unexpectedly pulled down into an antipode and transferred to another domed island called Lewis. On Lewis, he is still struggling over losing Freyja and decides to go looking for her, only to be told that she was with a man from Lewis and was pregnant. Upon his second arrival to Lewis, Cam married and started a family with Laetitia, the sweet schoolteacher that he had been living with. Unlike on August, Cam is surrounded by friends and people who care for him on Lewis. Then tragedy strikes and Laetitia, pregnant with their second child, goes missing. Cam, teamed up with now found Freyja and a few other Lewis residents, embark on a journey to find her and the other missing women. Cam once again finds himself in turmoil upon losing yet another wife. The Liminal Space is just as loveable as Antipodes. Full of emotions that leaves the reader reeling and wanting more, I would not change a single part of it. Characters are still relatable and new enemies are found. Some mysteries are solved while new ones arise. The Liminal Space will leave its readers on the edges of their seats the entire time. If you loved The Liminal Space, look for the third book in the series Ouroboros.

Grave Digger Academy is an exciting take on the paranormal ongoing. C.A. King transports you to a world of a young lady, Mikayla, who is 1 of 7 siblings and is the outcast, odd ball, misfit, etc. She doesn’t look like her family but hopes to follow in her siblings footsteps by attending one of the schools they attended. To her surprised, she’s selected for a school that wasn’t on her list: Grave Digger Academy. Of course she’s upset having to go to a school she didn’t want to attend, but she quickly makes friends and starts adventures and stories beyond what she could’ve imagined.

Now Cam must adapt to this new life without his family, surrounded by strangers. Will the domes provide the protection needed? Will Cam settle into his new life? Find out in Antipodes. Antipodes is full of detail that not only helps the reader envision the views, but also feel the same feelings as the characters. You will feel right along Cam through his plight in this new life. All characters are relatable, and you will find yourself falling in love with them. There is not a single part in Antipodes that I would change. If you are looking for a great adventure, full of different emotions, look no further. If you enjoyed Antipodes, look for the second book in the series, The Liminal Space.

WOW this book is now my all-time favorite by this author!! Immediately as soon as I saw this was the next book coming out, I knew I had to add it to my TBR list, and it exceeded all expectations!! The book had a great story line of an apocalypse with the mom fighting the whole way to protect her daughter from contracting the deadly virus. I was hooked from the first paragraph and could not put the book down until I KNEW what was going to happen. The surprise TWIST ending was something that shocked me and was the perfect touch to what was going on in the story! I cannot wait to read more books by this wonderful author!!

I thought the next installment could not possibly be better than the other books in the series, as they were very fun, great reads and boy was I wrong! This Christmas these mystery story took the cake!! I believe that this books’ storyline of having her getting ready for the holiday and having crime happen, that she did not plan for, made this story that much more fun! Crime waits for no one and while this one was still a great mystery to read, having it be a Christmas theme made it all the more enjoyable to read! I loved reading these stories and I cannot wait to read more by this wonderful author as the writing style was superb!

Wow I cannot begin to even put into words how much I truly enjoyed reading these books. The way the author wrote these books, had me feeling as thought I was on the mystery with them! This was the first book in the series, and it is a great introduction to the series and what it is all about. Reading more and more mystery genres of books have been my go-to lately and this one WAS SO GREAT! If you are looking for a great series to read about mysteries in the past, then this is the series for you!!

Fallen Star is the second book in the Divine Devils series and a fantastic crime thriller that has you on the edge of your seat. It has everything to keep the pages turning. This complex plot takes you into the bowels of darkness is full of danger and mystery, suspense and intrigue, action and violence, murder and mayhem.
This intense and thrilling tale draws the reader in and fully invested in the outcome and the characters. R Weir’s gift is definitely in this genre and I am glad to have come across his books.
Former US Marshall Hunter Divine and team are back. He makes no apologies for who he is but there is one thing you can count on and that is he will always get the job done. He is a complex and flawed man who has more baggage than a department store.
This case may help him personally and he will not walk away empty handed.
Beware once you start you will not be able to put it down. Bring on more!
